Recently Mr. Trump made a speech that was labeled as a foreign policy speech….as usual it was slap full of platitudes and one liners made for applause…..slogans for the nose picking ass scratchers…..
The one thought that I most liked (sarcasm) was the one about the invasion of Iraq and the oil…..
Since it fits with the prior post, as well, I’ll say this;
first, excellent analysis.
Second, I found it significant the 3 mentioned outcomes, “death, destruction, and financial loss” were the sum total of correctness; wars have only those outcomes available…
You noted we obtained plenty of the first two, and noted the obscure nature of the last, without also noting the entire operation (the Iraqi war for oil…) was a tremendously strong financial victory for all the American contractors who sell arms, and all the accoutrement of war….
In today’s world, there is only one set of victors in any war, no matter the ostensible political purpose; their names adorn the guns, and tanks, and planes, and bullets that take human lives all over the world.
