The big news for the Dems has been the candidacy of Bernie Sanders…..his all out war with Clinton has given the progressives a voice….and especially with the upcoming convention……progressives will set the agenda….at least that was the propaganda put out to try and keep the Bernie supporters from jumping ship and supporting another candidate….other than Clinton……
The truth is the hardcore progressives were lied to….go figure….a Clinton lying…..I know how can this be?
Despite its claims to want to unify voters ahead of November’s election, the Democratic party appears to be pushing for an agenda that critics say ignores basic progressive policies, “staying true” to their Corporate donors above all else.
During a 9-hour meeting in St. Louis, Missouri on Friday, members of the DNC’s platform drafting committee voted down a number of measures proposed by Bernie Sanders surrogates that would have come out against the contentious Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), fracking, and the Israeli occupation of Palestine. At the same time, proposals to support a carbon tax, Single Payer healthcare, and a $15 minimum wage tied to inflation were also disregarded.

Progressives looking for a fair and honest treatment by the Dem Party were just spit in the eye……
It is time for all true progressives and I mean progressives not these damn Dems hiding among progressives, to step up and move past the party and look for a candidate that will embrace change and progress……stop playing the DC dance…..
Hint: Dr. Jill Stein
Reblogged this on A Green Road Daily News.
TY my friend chuq
I’m with you 100%.
Dr. Stein will get a hard look and I will be posting on her after the Dem convention….
Looking forward to it.
SIGH… it’s difficult enough having to contemplate a contest for the US Presidency between the two most likely automatons we can see being chosen; I’m pretty sure I don’t want to think about it very much more, until the dust settles, and we can get a clearer picture of just what the latest insane configuration of players will actually look like. Knowing which will give an indication of which direction to jump, when necessary…. as it very likely shall be…
Hmm… just noticed… the adjective, ‘insane’, could very well have been used in three other points in the narrative, with equal relevance….
gigoid, the dubious
The most interesting issue (and arguably the most important) is the TPP. Most rank & file Democrats are against it. Both Candidates claim to be against it. Yet it’s currently on the platform???
Why? Because they don’t want to “offend” the guy on his way out by changing a policy? Really? Sounds like one those Republican “rules” that don’t exit but Democrats are supposed to live by. (no Supreme Court appointee in an election year, no coffee cup salutes, etc) What a steaming pile of bullshit!
This is how Hillary endorses the TPP she’s “opposed” to. “Well, it’s on the platform. So, I gotta sign it.”
She changes her mind along with the political winds….
….political winds that blow away our society’s brains like a piece of paper in a tornado.
Hopefully, I’m not the only person who noticed this. Hopefully, somebody who gets listened to will point this out to the public. Otherwise…. TPP for everybody!!!
I try…but my audience is rather small in comparison….
oOOO Piffle! When does any candidate REALLY have to support the platform. It is an outline for things to come, as long as those issues remain the candidates’ issues they support ’em…Politicratz never actually mean a thing they say, let alone sign. If a document can’t be enforced, signing means diddlysquat. dru the pissed today!
