I write a lot about the Middle East and the Palestinian situation….my interest comes from a close friend and colleague from my past that was a Palestinian ex-pat……I try to help Americans understand what is happening from a Palestinian perspective….the Israeli perspective is pretty much the western papers are willing to publish….
If anyone would like to know what is being said about the most recent flare-up of hostilities then maybe a little help would be in order (it is from a Palestinian point of view…please keep that in mind before one goes off on some rant)…..
A two-state solution is increasingly becoming a dead issue and the only active one is Israel s work towards a complete Judaisation of historical Palestine

With that bit of background out of the way…..June of 2017 will be the 50th anniversary of the 6 Day War…..and Palestine may be planning something that, in my opinion, should have happen decades ago…..
But first a little more perspective……

Israel usually issues sweeping declarations in the month of November and there is a slight chance that after the US election that BiBi will issue a rsolution calling for a 2 state solution to the conflict…..

There is also a buzz in the region that there could be a massive declaration coming from the Palestinians in 2017……could BiBi’s announcement in November be a ploy to head off any announcement by the Palestinians?
After 50 years of suffering at the hands of occupiers…..it appears that the Palestinian leadership is preparing to do what I and others have been championing for years…..
June 6, 2017, will mark 50 years since the Six Day War in which Israel conquered the West Bank and the Gaza Strip as well as the Sinai Peninsula and the Golan Heights. Israel considered it a war of defense, given repeated threats by Egyptian leadership at the time (then-President Gamal Abdel Nasser) to annihilate the country with the support of all Arab states. The Arab armies were defeated in six days. But what started as a rescue war, as a blessing for Israel, turned with time into a burden and a curse of controlling the lives of 2-3 million Palestinians. For the Palestinians, this date marks a second tragedy, after the very establishment of Israel in 1948.

Next year could prove to be an interesting year……but only problem I see from an American point of view is that there will be a new president in the White House and neither has shown any interest or concern for the Palestinian people…..
I didn’t “like” this post because I don’t like this whole situation, it is too traumatic to think about but I did read it, found it informative, don’t disagree with your opinions or findings. I just want to cry about it all…..sigh.

I found the last line the most ‘interesting’, for I think I have to agree that next year will be interesting…. I mean that in the ancient Chinese sense, wherein ‘interesting’ takes new meaning by use as a curse, to wit: “May you have an interesting life.” The sense, naturally, is NOT pleasant in its implications.
However, I think the Krupps, and the Shrubs, and the Baron, et al, will be happy as the pigs in mud they so resemble…

I see a parallel to Canuckistan at work here.
Canadians have a (very rational) fear of being taken over by the United States. Every time we see a worthwhile Canadian company being bought up by an American one and shut-down, or stolen away, (See http://www.theglobeandmail.com/report-on-business/caterpillar-closes-diesel-office-lays-off-50-in-london-ont/article26833707/ ) many fear for the continued existence of Canuckistan.
Not me. I know the real score. America does NOT want to take us over. They don’t want a One State Solution. It likes the Two State Solution, even though Canuckistan is considered anything but a “peer”. Thanks to NAFTA, (and the obvious disparity is corporate size) America owns and/ore controls almost everything of value in this country. (natural resources, most profitable corporations, etc.)
What the Two State Solution does is allow America to control everything in Canuckistan without having to admit Dangerous Lefty Canucks into America. Allowing us to vote, or even just mingle with the American population, would totally fuck up what America stands for. We’d demand Medicare, balanced budgets, less war…plus all that shit Bernie talks about & more! (Actually, we’d ask for it politely, then take “No” as an answer. But still.)
There’s an obvious parallel to be made to Israelistine. It’s all but a One State Reality hiding behind a Two State Myth. Why? Because it benefits the more powerful State.
Careful…Israeltine was a proposal by Qaddafi and his sons…..NSA may be listening and you know what happened to the “Big Q”….Ha
