This week there has been something sucking the oxygen out of the day……and NO it is not something the “Hair Club for Men” candidate has said…….this time it is the GOP candidate, Ben Carson…..BTW, when did a book tour warrant massive media coverage?
I was talking with Elmo yesterday….Elmo is an old friend that I seem to never agree with on anything……..we were talking politics and he stated that he was a supporter of Carson for the nomination and he ask me what I thought….and as usual I was brutally honest just as he is with me….
I told him that I thought that Carson was not a serious candidate….that upset Elmo a bit and demanded to know why I would make such a statement….
I told him that I thought that Carson was an opportunist….that this whole thing of his candidacy was nothing but a way for him to monetize his brand a bit more…..and that when he dropped out of this race his net worth would skyrocket……..his demand for payment for speaking and appearances would more than double even triple over what he gets these days…..
Of course Elmo was not pleased with my claims or my observations…..and he abruptly ended the conversation with saying that he needed to have is hair washed……..
After our little coffee debate I read a piece in “The Week” that agrees with my analysis….

While it might be interesting if Ben Carson were voted in, I simply don’t think he would do a good job…but maybe he could give Congress brain surgery or something…maybe they could get a frontal lobotomy…
But that could make them more stupid than now….do we really need that? LOL

No more serious than the Donald…. But then, there isn’t ANY Republican who has a rat’s chance of winning the election…. Hell, this election neither one of them might win; wouldn’t that be great? Give an election, and nobody comes…. what a concept….
Personally, I’d be willing to give anarchy a trial for a time; things couldn’t possibly get any worse than allowing ANY of the assholes who WANT the fucking job would make it…..Democrat OR Republican; they’re all a bunch of avaricious narcissists, with no thought beyond their own aggrandizement….

My last post today is about Donald…….trying to ask questions…
No this candidate doesn’t come with a cigar or port or chocolate or even a fine cognac! Because of his religious persuasion, I am very anti him. BEFORE all of you get up in arms about religious tolerance and what have you, I was brought up the same and have an internal predisposition to believe most (of them and everyone else) lie. I didn’t read his book cuz I figured it was just self-aggrandizing fol·de·rol but again I’ve a self-imposed bias.
I’m not sure I’d agree whole hardheartedly that his campaign is just to further his monetary worth but I’m sure it will. I’m more afraid of the theory of themselves as god that surgeons are taught and have to maintain to make life and death decisions. Surgeons most generally are the pitz unless you actually need them. Then they are god-like, not god.
My father was a physician with political aspirations, conservative of course, and while he was not a surgeon per se he sure made a lot of bad decisions in his life, NOT MEDICAL…just personal. Like hoping to run for Lt Governor of a rather liberal state in the west. I know first hand, how political campaigns can actually sway a true man’s convictions. Hell, sad to say, if I had to make this choice, I’d be tempted to vote for old fuzzy hair and just go to sleep for the next 4 years. dru
