It has been a helluva week for international news….so much happening and few care….why is that?
The issue du jour is …..refugees.
That means that people cannot get past the headlines……
It is today’s hot button topic that will drive some into a fit of batcrap crazy rants…..and others to check their humanity…..
With that comes all the misinformation and even worse the lies. Few will look beyond the headlines and try to understand the situation……instead they want to paint these people as some sort of threat in the making.
I have read some pretty racist stuff…..some compassionate stuff……and a bunch of just plain HATRED!
To me I see the situation as a crisis of our own making……I mean think about it…..would you be searching for a better life if you had to live like this…….
If that does not answer the question…..then how about this….?
If a person cannot understand the refugee crisis then there is nothing left of their souls…….if they ever had one….

I can understand the people that are concerned about things…..but I can also understand why these people are doing what they are doing…..but I refuse to pretend that this situation is the fault of the people that are looking for a better life…..they are not trying to take over a country….just trying to find a place they can live without worrying about which group will bring death to their door…..
I pray that none of my detractors ever have to face a situation where they have to make a decision that we have just discussed…..or ever have to feel the distrust and in some cases the hate that these people are facing today…..
Can anyone else understand that?

As soon as their numbers are great enough they will start demanding concessions and accommodations and after that they will start getting themselves elected to government offices and after that the process accelerates — and sooner or later they are running things. BTW I do not believe they ever intend to “Assimilate” because the ideology does not call for assimilation … it calls for domination and rule and subjugation of all other ideologies. …. Primary … Academic.
I pray that none of my detractors ever have to face a situation where they have to make a decision that we have just discussed.
If we allow them to over run us we just might get into this very position and we will be the ones having to make the decisions you have just discussed.
Same thing s I heard when Cubans came in the 60’s and the Vietnamese in the 70’s..

Go take a walk through Dearborn, Michigan …. but not alone please. Take a walk through Minneapolis, Minnesota — but take somebody with you.
I have worked in low rent housing for 10 years dealing with their stuff daily….and I am still not going to be one of the haters…I saw people trying to get their lives together….not always looking for a free ride….I had to walk thru those neighborhoods daily and work there….
I spent a lot of time in such places as a teen age guy hanging out and learning how to survive in the streets so I guess we have something in common. Our “Project” was rife with dope, fighting, weapons and crime — and filth — and alkies and degenerates — and this was back in the early 60s mind you. I guess everybody’s life experience is different. Dearbornistan is a lot more dangerous now than in the past for example but … who am I to contest another’s experiences?
Most people are not filth most are trying to do the right things….the problem is few give them the chance….I do not share many personal details because when I do I am met with sarcasm and even insults…..but you are right….who am I to contest..?
If you are working under the assumption that people are basically good then I am afraid I am going to have to disagree … but respectfully so because I value your friendship.
People, all people have the capacity for good….the problem is that too many feel that “good” is somehow not what is needed….pressure form society or peers helps suppress the ‘good’….that brings us back to the “fitting in”…the sheeple if you will….
