Rancid Prius Speaks!

Allow me to catch you up…..Ukraine is still a head scratcher…..the plane is still missing with NO actual facts to report but the media will not let it go………

First, let me say I apologize for the title…..when I hear the chairman of the RNC’s name….that is all I can think….,funny how the mind works, huh?

Let’s move on….shall we?

It seems that for the first time in many years I find myself in agreement with the chairman of the RNC and the BS he tries to pass off as facts…….

Republican National Committee Chair Reince Priebus Tuesday didn’t merely predict that 2014 would be a wave election for Republican candidates. He predicted a political tsunami.

Speaking to reporters at a breakfast hosted by The Christian Science Monitor, Priebus said ‘I think we’re in for a tsunami-type election in 20014’ powered largely by Republicans winning six Senate seats to regain control of that chamber.

‘My belief is, it’s going to be a very big win, especially at the U.S. Senate level, and we may add some seats in congressional races,’ he told reporters. ‘But I need to and we need to at the RNC level make sure that we can capture the positives and the benefits we’ve been able to provide in 2014 and build on that to have success in 2016, which is a very different type of election.’

It is not looking good, at this point in the cycle, for the Dems in Congress…..they will have to deal with high debt, the failed rollout of Obamacare and the general wimpiness of the candidates that grows more and more with each session.

But how can this be explained?  All too many are asking this question…..and I believe there is a simple answer……..

Forgot who said this but it rings true…..”Never underestimate the power of human stupidity”…..if you do not like that answer then let me leave you with the words of Martin Luther King, Jr……”Nothing in the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity”

And that my friends is….Enough Said!

Why Do Conservatives Soak Up Lies? | Eric Zuesse

You know as I know that the Right has a horrible time with the facts and in doing so….a hard time with the truth…….but the question should be asked, why do conservs buy into each and everyone of the lies?

There is an election approaching and the lies shall get deeper and harsher…….

Well, go figure…..that question has been answered…..

Always Wanted a Nanny

Today I would like to focus on our society…..things been done in our name…..things that we should keep an eye on…….closely……..there could be more afoot than there seems.

We have all heard the one liner of the “nanny state”…..you know where the state makes all your decisions for you…..we have railed against it because….well we are Americans, the rugged individualists that we are……..but slowly we are becoming just that……we are told about what we are allowed to eat…..or drink…..,and especially what we are to smoke.

I know smoking is a disgusting habit and it can cause health problems or death…..but we know that….why?  It is written on EVERY pack we buy and has been for decades….but yet we are not smart enough to make the decision on our own…..we need the society to protect us from ourselves…..

Full disclosure…..I smoke….like it or not….it is NOT your decision…it is mine….and if one does not like my habit then stay the Hell away from me!  Or learn to hold your breath while I smoke.

Recently there was a chain, CVS (I believe), that decided not to any longer sell tobacco products……cool it is there decision……but it looks like it is not going to be there decision any longer……

A bipartisan group of attorneys general has a message for America’s major retailers: It’s time to stop selling cigarettes. The group yesterday sent letters to five big retailers—Walmart, Kroger, Rite Aid, Safeway, and Walgreen—urging them to follow CVS’s lead and pull tobacco products from the shelves entirely, NPR reports. Ohio’s Mike DeWine and New York’s Eric Schneiderman led the charge of attorneys general from 28 states, including Arizona and Illinois. “There is a contradiction in having these dangerous and devastating tobacco products on the shelves of a retail chain that services health care needs,” they wrote. They noted that at least 480,000 Americans died from tobacco-related disease in 2013, and tobacco use drains the US of $289 billion annually in productivity and health-care costs. The letter didn’t threaten legal action, but an insider tells the New York Times that reform or litigation may follow if stores don’t play ball. No word from the stores yet, but none of them showed interest in following CVS’s lead last month. Walgreen said only that it had a program to help people quit smoking, and Kroger said its adult customers had a right to choose their own products. (See how CVS’s move could affect smoking rates.)

If this is successful what is next?  Your beer could be looking at a similar attack…….and we know that gun ownership will not be as much fun without a brew to get with them……will Americans just look the other way in this case or will they decide that enough is enough?

Nail The “Robber Barons”!

Thanx to Clinton and his DLC a/holes we are stuck in this vicious cycle of banks dictating to the society……..the repeal of Glass-Steagall made it possible for banks to gamble with others money and not face any charges for their complicity in the fraudulent practices of a few big banks in the schemes……

Oh yeah the Obama admin passed a reform bill and some toothless regulations to make us think that we are safe to return to the “markets”……I disagree….I believe that this will happen again and the banks will be more covert in their operations…..but at least the present admin is trying to do something….JP Morgan has been hit with a little fine and Bank Of America as well….but they continue their fraudulent practices……

The FDIC has tried to change stuff………

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corp sued 16 of the world’s largest banks on Friday, accusing them of cheating dozens of other now defunct banks by manipulating the Libor interest rate.

The global financial institutions broke certain swaps contracts they had entered into with the now-closed banks, by separately colluding to rig the Libor rate to which the contracts were tied, the FDIC said.

They have also been sued by investors and others who claim they lost money due to the manipulation. A federal judge last March dismissed many of those claims that were based on antitrust law, but has yet to rule on cases that rely on the “breach of contract” theory used by the FDIC.

The lawsuit also accused the British Bankers’ Association, the U.K. trade organization that during the period at issue administered Libor, of participating in the scheme.

The BBA had said it independently monitored the banks’ Libor submissions, and represented that Libor was a “transparent” benchmark, even though it knew those statements were false, the FDIC said. A representative of the BBA declined comment.

The banks named as defendants include Bank of America Corp, Citigroup Inc, Credit Suisse Group AG, Deutsche Bank AG, HSBC Holdings PLC, JPMorgan Chase & Co, and Royal Bank of Scotland Group PLC.

Other defendants in the lawsuit are Rabobank, Lloyds Banking Group plc, Societe Generale, Norinchukin Bank, Royal Bank of Canada, Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ and WestLB AG.

Everybody wants me to be responsible for the stuff I do then corporations, who are people now, should be held to the standard that the rest of us are held……..if they commit a crime it is time for jail time and total restitution.
