Can We Do This?

It seems that the prez is announcing the sanctions and whatever else they decided to throw at Russia for their part in the Ukrainian situation…….Russia has retaliated……..

Russia got Crimea, but the US seems to have the edge in the sanctions department for now. After President Obama ramped up economic penalties against 20 prominent Russians (but not Vladimir Putin), Moscow fired back by telling nine American officials (but not Obama) that they weren’t welcome in Russia, reports the Hill. The biggest names on the no-visa list are John Boehner, Harry Reid, and John McCain. The other six are Deputy National Security Adviser for International Economics Caroline Atkinson, senior White House adviser Daniel Pfeiffer, Deputy National Security Adviser Ben Rhodes, and Sens. Robert Menendez, Mary Landrieu, and Dan Coats. Boehner, for one, sounds pretty happy about it. “Proud to be included on a list of those willing to stand against Putin’s aggression,” he tweeted.

I like it!  Is there any way we can extend this to include the rest of Congress?  That would cut down on the amount of free trips those toads get to take in the name of “fact finding”……a little further extension…..can we find away to keep these loafers away from the people they are failing to represent?

Just a thought.

Those Damn “Inner City” Slackers!

By now everyone has heard what Rep. Paul Ryan, master of the budget committee, has had to say about those living in the “inner city”…..sounds kinda like a code word for “ghetto” to me….but you decide……..

House Budget Chairman Paul Ryan (R-WI) previewed his upcoming legislative proposals for reforming America’s poverty programs during an appearance on Bill Bennett’s Morning in America Wednesday, hinting that he would focus on creating work requirements for men “in our inner cities” and dealing with the “real culture problem” in these communities. “We have got this tailspin of culture, in our inner cities in particular, of men not working and just generations of men not even thinking about working or learning the value and the culture of work, and so there is a real culture problem here that has to be dealt with,” he said.

After bumping his gums…….Twitter blew up with people freaking out and some defending over what Ryan had stated…….and then he tried to explain what he had said……

Ryan defended himself on Wednesday night, telling the blog Crew of 42, “This has nothing to do whatsoever with race. It never even occurred to me. This has nothing to do with race whatsoever.”

In defending his “inner city” remarks on Wednesday night, Ryan changed his focus to “rural” poverty, saying, “This isn’t a race based comment it’s a breakdown of families, it’s rural poverty in rural areas, and talking about where poverty exists — there are no jobs and we have a breakdown of the family. Government data has corroborated that rural areas, not inner cities, are increasingly key to the problem of poverty.

But whether or not race was at the heart of Ryan’s intentions, it appears that the government data and the social research he uses to argue that “inner city” men are taking advantage of anti-poverty programs to avoid employment actually only undermine his claims.

When discussing “this tailspin of culture, in our inner cities in particular, of men not working” on Bill Bennett’s Morning in America on Wednesday, the Congressman specifically mentioned two social scientists to substantiate his views: Charles Murray, a fellow at the American Enterprise Institute who openly believes that African-American men are less intelligent than whites due to genetic differences, and Robert Putnam, a Harvard professor whose research has found that lower-income Americans are more distrustful of others and more disconnected from society’s important institutions than their middle or higher-income counterparts. Putnam argues that these trends are a sign that the United States is “heading towards a caste system where social standing and community involvement are inherited from generation to generation” and undermine social mobility.

His defense was kinda like wearing Mommy pants (a Palin analogy)…..

A side note:  I have worked for the local housing authority, which could be called the “inner city”, Mississippi Housing Authority, Region 8……in my 10 years there I did not ever see what Mr. Ryan calls “slackers”…….most people wanted work but there are no jobs for them….there is a wealth of reason why and NONE of them can be considered “laziness”.

Yes, I disagree with Ryan wholeheartedly……..to me and I am saying to me alone, this smacks of a hate for the poor……that they are somehow responsible for their poverty……and that is a bias…….you may read whatever you like into what I am saying……I stand by my assessment.

Hillary In 2016

I know the GOP is gearing up to fight Hillary…they seem to be convinced that she will run and eventually become the nominee….so they are firing up the propaganda machine (check post Propaganda 2.0) to get a jump on her and her hubby’s political machine.

Now some Dems are echoing the belief that Hillary will run and will have the best chance for the nomination….that is if she desires it.

I want to talk a bit about the possibility of Hillary and her run for the finish line, the presidency.

I can hear the rattlings now.  I will not be a Hillary supporter and I shall pay dearly for not being a fan……..but I have a good reason for my dislike of Hillary……Bubba!  I feel that Bill did more damage to America’s social programs than most Repubs have done.  NAFTA screwed the American worker unmercifully…..his repeal of Glass-Steagall set up the economy for the crash in 2008…..and his attacks on entitlements will never heal…..just to mention a few of the distasteful things Bubba was champion of in his years at the helm.  And all these programs are the stepchild of the Democratic Leadership Council (DLC), the pro business wing of the party and the bane of the American middle class.

Hillary is a member of the DLC and she will be just an extension of good old Bubba and his policies and it will put him back in the White House….a place he should be only allowed to visit, never to live there again.

The only bright spot in 2016, well two bright spots…..one will be the antics of the GOP and the array of morons that will be jockeying for leadership….it will be interesting and most likely very amusing.  Two, Hillary my get a challenge to her inevitable nomination from the worker wing of the Democratic Party…….some of the challengers may be Sen. Bernie Sanders or possibly Sen. Elizabeth Warren.

A lot can change between today and the beginning of the process in 2016….new players can pop up anywhere……Left or Right……..but from where I am sitting today….these are the things I see.

I Am So Sick Of Morons!

I guess the title says it all….but I would like to explain it a little better…….I am sick to the Right lumping all liberals together and making moronic even STUPID statements that they think makes their case…..we may disagree but I do not think all Righties are idiots….and that makes me think of the quote by Mill on conservs…if you do not know it then put that lazy Google finger to work and check it out…..

Liberals are being accused of so much more than they are capable of at this time…….some of it could be true…..but to say that all are somehow connected is just propaganda…..look it up in IST’s “Propaganda 2.0”  Like I said liberals are being assaulted verbally….I guess they want retaliation for the Bush years when they were called all sorts of names…..I have said….if I call an individual an insulting name then I email them a copy of my post and ivite them to respond and I will post their response……

But idiots that make sweeping statements are doing NO one any good, especially the country……and then there are people, I use the term loosely, like this douche bag………

Gun Owners of America director Larry Pratt, who previously claimed that liberals were happy about the Boston Marathon bombing, said in an interview last week that the “gun control crowd” “privately rejoice” at events like the Sandy Hook massacre.

When a caller told Pratt, who was a guest on VCY America’s Crosstalk on Thursday, that he thought the Sandy Hook shooting “stinks of a conspiracy,” Pratt responded that “the gun control crowd” are “opportunistic.”

“My guess is that privately they rejoice when something like this happens,” he added. “Because they immediately go to their buddies in the media and they immediately start shedding their crocodile tears, pushing for more gun control.”

I was going to include this mental midget in the next edition of Babbling Buffoons but decided he needed his own post……it is a/holes like this one that give so many Conservs bad names…….this ‘person’ is doing nothing but trying to increase his membership base so he can more money…..and the sick part is too many listen to this type of mindless bullshit….

Pratt is an opportunistic mentally deranged douche bag…….and yes a copy will be emailed to him and he is free to respond and have it posted…….
