And They Say There Is NO God!

For centuries people have been debating the existence of God or whatever your name is for some unseen omnipotent being that has some sort of control over the happenings on this tiny little f*cked up planet…..everyone has an opinion (I guess they are kinda like a/holes)….but finally there is PROOF!  So now we can put the whole thing to bed…..(that was humor in case anyone missed it)

Fox News host Glenn Beck may be in denial about his ratings decline, but the Nielsen numbers don’t lie: He’s lost one-third of his audience from this time last year, and has lost nearly four out of ten of his viewers between the ages of 25 and 54, the demographic advertisers most covet.

See!  There is a GOD!

The ratings sag seems to be spreading to Beck’s radio empire as well, where he suddenly finds himself off in key markets such as New York and Philadelphia. Beck’s daytime show was also recently yanked from four radio stations in Connecticut because the program’s increasingly inconsistent content had hurt ratings, according to the executive who pulled Beck off his stations.

It is good to see that I may have been a bit mistaken about the American people and their propensity to believe bullsh*t……maybe now we can get back to real issues and problems and solutions….I can only hope….but then I remember something Ben Franklin once said…..”He that lives upon hope will die fasting.”

UpDate:  While I held this post in my drafts more breaking news has come out about Beck and FOX…..

Fox News and Glenn Beck announced Wednesday that Beck will “transition off of his daily program” later this year.

Beck’s production company, Mercury Radio Arts, will instead work with Fox News to produce programs for the channel.

SEE!  There is a GOD….Thank you, Irene……

Now For The Plan For The 2012 Budget

We have all heard the cat calls from both sides of the aisle on the 2011 budget, which if these silly little people do not agree on something then government will shut down…..I will let that go….most everyone knows my thoughts on that…..and instead let us look at the proposal that whiz kid Paul Ryan (conservs title for him…not mine) has come up with for 2012…..

Here are a couple of ideas from the GOP as spoken through Rep. Paul Ryan of Wisconsin…….

House Budget Chairman Paul Ryan is expected to put out his 2012 proposed budget resolution.

Taking on entitlements: Ryan said his budget resolution would propose overhauling Medicare, the health care program for seniors, and Medicaid, which provides health benefits to the poor and disabled. Spending on the entitlement programs is one of the biggest drivers of the country’s future debt.

He said the proposals in the resolution would be similar to those he proposed most recently with longtime budget expert Alice Rivlin, who served as President Clinton’s budget director and founded the independent Congressional Budget Office.

The resolution would convert the federal government’s Medicaid payments into a block grant to be allocated among states. Currently, federal payments to states are determined by a formula.

(Remember the fine label of “death panels”….well Ryan and the boyz will be creating just that…states will not use any funds for the poor they will most likely go to financing tax breaks business…I know it would in my state)

Cutting spending: The GOP resolution would roll back so-called discretionary spending to 2006 levels,………Ryan told Fox News that the GOP budget resolution would cap all spending as a percentage of the economy at levels equal to the historical average. He didn’t offer a specific percentage……..

(will be interesting to see how they handle any national crisis that requires the government to step in…..this is lame….lame at best!)

Reforming the tax code: Ryan said the resolution would call for pro-growth tax reform that would lower tax rates and broaden the tax base — which typically means eliminating tax breaks. He didn’t say which breaks or specify whether he was talking about the individual tax code, the corporate tax code or both.

Sources familiar with the plan told CNN that Ryan’s plan would make permanent the Bush-era tax cuts, which, under a compromise with President Obama, were extended last year through 2012.

(tax code will favor anyone that has a large amount of cash on hand…..working people are screwed….NO matter how appealing they make it sound…..you will be SCREWED!)

Once again….these are just recycling of ideas that would fly 20 years ago….but the GOP is excited about the Tea Party involvement….it may help them pass this stuff and we can KISS the middle class….GOOD-BYE!  (seniors screwed….poor screwed….corporations smile and enjoy the privilege)

Washington has become a vending machine……money in……laws out!

This should provide an idea of where the budget and where the GOP is going……..

Ryan: “We don’t have a tax problem, we have a people-want-us-to-spend-on-things-we-could-afford-if-corporations-paid-tax problem”……gee…I TOLD YOU SO!  (We have a revenue problem more than a spending problem)

A Balanced Budget Amendment

Daily Agitator

We have heard the calls for cuts but as usual there is more…there always more than the 30 second sound byte….

OK, the US has a spending problem and yes we need to reign it in a bit…..but how would we have fared without spending in the past couple of years?  The debate going on is on cable and NOT on the floor of the Congress…Reps rather see themselves on youtube and hear their own voices than actually work on repairing the country….It sucks….and it is Dems, Repubs, Tea Partyers, et al that is to blame….NONE of these people are truly concerned with the business of a country but rather some narrow vision they have….the country is full of Americans of all flavors……if you CANNOT work for them then get the f*ck out of town!

A helluva intro for a the new proposed Balanced Budget Amendment……oh crap!  Another 20 year old ploy…..you people tried this in the 90’s and now when you think that it is worthy you try again….Are there NO new ideas?  Anyway according to the OMB Watch site:

the amendment would balance the budget. Indeed, it requires a two-thirds vote of both houses in order for outlays to exceed revenues. But it isn’t as if Congress is unable to balance the budget now. If Congress wanted to balance the budget, it would balance the budget. In fact, it has a chance to do so right now, since Congress is still debating the FY 2011 budget, despite the fiscal year having started six months ago. But I don’t see anyone arguing for this year’s budget to be balanced.

The Senate Republicans’ amendment goes far beyond just balancing the budget. The amendment also caps government spending at just 18 percent of gross domestic product, makes it harder to raise the debt ceiling, and requires a two-thirds vote to raise taxes. It even reaches beyond just the legislative branch, forbidding the courts from ordering increased revenues.

This is such a game that it is almost sickening…….what will we do in time of crisis such as economic collapse or war (war gets a special shout out in the amendment) or do-dah?….pick one……

When will the American people tire of these political games?  These silly little games accomplish NOTHING…..and all the while the Middle class is disappearing and the country is going down the toilet……and people are proud….proud of what?  The destruction of a way of life?  Cool!  These types of games are doing more damage than anything that has preceded…….will the head ever come out of the butt?

This is a messaging ploy….nothing else…..they can say we proposed an amendment to balance the budget…..knowing full well there is NO way that they can actually do this…it is great fodder for the news shows on cable….it is political theater……Kabuki…..all make up…no base.

Please end the silliness…the country is in need…..and we need the pathetic excuses of representation to stand up and act like adults…..HA!  Who am I kidding?
