Kill NPR! Kill Pell Grants! Kill…Kill!

Somethings just make one want to pull a super model and barf up everything you have eaten in the last 24 hours….and the GOP is trying to make me do this…..I resist….but I am only so strong and I feel my fortitude weakening….

OK, we all have heard that Planned Parenthood, NPR, Pell Grants are all on the chopping block in a trip to find a compromise for a 2011 budget…..if you are NOT aware of this then stay warm and comfy under your rock…..and let the adults talk……

The GOP is demanding about $40 million in cuts…the Dems want about $33 Million…..the Repubs want social spending cuts…the Dems do not……what to do….what to do?

Let’s say the Repbubs get there way (do not laugh….there is a possibility that the Dems will roll over and give in) and the funds for Planned Parenthood, NPR and Pell Grants (just a few for effect) the country will save millions and even maybe a billion……that would be good for the deficit, huh?

But wait while cutting social spending the US has pledged to Afghanistan……

The United States pledged $50 million Wednesday to jump-start a slow-moving program to encourage Taliban members in Afghanistan to stop fighting and support the government.

U.S. Ambassador Karl W. Eikenberry, speaking at the same news conference, said the U.S. funds will be used to support both the high-level discussions and the programs to woo lower-level fighters from the battlefield. The money will pay for facilitating meetings, as well as development projects in communities where young men have joined the insurgency, job training programs and support for those who leave the fight.

There you go…..your child may not get a Pell Grant but the Afghani government will have money to burn…..this is why we all need to pay attention to what is happening in the world……now the grant that would help educate an American youngster will be used as a bribe in Afghanistan…..don’t you just love this country?

Just think of the savings we have earned…….when will Americans become the priority for these people in “Foggy Bottom”?  My guess is….NO time soon!

Everybody has an opinion (and it is true what they say) on what Islam stands for and is all about…..some are tolerant and others not so…….some accept…..other hate…..lots of opinions….I will NOT post on the attributes and failings of a religion but rather the stupidity of some people……

Let me say here….we all know about the WikiLeak thing with Bradley Manning…..he is accused of several crimes and being held in a military brig awaiting trail….. Manning is being punished for leaking documents to the internet that could in some way put American lives in danger and cause American deaths……(that could be another post…but not now).

Fast forward to today……we all have seen the riots, the violence and the deaths in Afghanistan in response to some random little hateful preacher and his ilk in some obscure little church in Florida……the Rev. (not in my mind) Terry Jones has burnt a Quran in response to Muslim extremism and then posted it on youtube……and now this demented toad is planning to put the prophet Mohammad on trial……

Despite clear evidence that his actions have led to multiple murders and widespread violence in the Middle East, the radical pastor remains unrepentant about his actions and has even hinted that he will take his provocative stance further.

Then, if Manning could be tried and convicted for the possibility of causing American deaths, then this freak in Florida, Jones needs to be arrested, held and tried for the possibility of causing American deaths…..we have been told that his action and the action of his band of merry followers has caused the deaths of UN workers in Afghanistan…..Jones needs to be arrested now!  Period!

The People Vs The Tea Party

NO Irene…this is not a case that will go before the Supreme Court…but that is an idea that I would not be opposed to in any shape……

First, I would like to say something….Will you conservs STOP using the term “limited government”!  Very little of what you are doing is “limited”…..they are pushing further and further into the lives of Americans and that is NOT “limited”…..thanx for letting me vent…..

Finally!  The American people are starting to wake up to the fact that NONE of the Reps in Washington are working in their best interests….and thanx to CNN we have some proof of this……

A CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey released Wednesday indicates that 32 percent of the public has a favorable view of the two year old anti-tax movement, which also calls for less government spending and a more limited role for the federal government in our lives. The 32 percent favorable rating is down five points from December.

Forty-seven percent of people questioned say they have an unfavorable view of the tea party, up four points from December and an increase of 21 points from January 2010. That 47 percent is virtually identical to the 48 percent unfavorable ratings for both the Democratic party and the Republican party in the same poll.

NOBODY has a favorable appearance to the people or should I say….the voter….but will it translate to fresh thinking….or fresh faces….or possibly a new party?  If the total Congress and the parties have such a negative rating, what can we do as voters to change that?

To me….I will look for a NEW direction for the government and the country….I may be alone in this search but I will do it anyway……The country needs new ideas…new Reps….new parties….the stuff we have now is NOT working!

I am up to the challenge……are you?

P.S.  Keep in mind an observation from an observer in the UK on the Tea Party…….”It’s the same in 2011 as it was in 1776 ( I hate to contradict my UK friend but the Party was in 1773 not 1776)  when a Boston mob was incited to throw a cargo of tea into the city’s harbour: a bunch of rich folk getting poor folk to help them avoid paying their fair share of tax. Nowadays they don’t even have to get their feet wet. It’s all done on junk TV.”
