A Question For John McCain

I heard Sen. McCain on ABC Sunday say that he voted against the auto bailout because the US auto makers need to get in line with foreign auto makers in the US, as far as wages, benefits and etc.

My question for McCain is, Why should American auto workers give concessions to be in line with foreign auto makers in the US?  Should not part of the deal of doing business in the US be that foreign companies should be more in line with US auto wages?  Why should American workers lower their wages so that foreign companies can make a larger profit?

Has anyone ever heard of “economic nationalism”?  That basically means that you take pride in the country’s business and workers and that they deserve first consideration in any industrial activity that takes place in this country.

Apparently the American worker means didley to Washington and to most of the American people.  This from a group that prefers that the US stay a consumer nation at the expense of our manufacturing sector.

Is it not time,Sen. McCain, that we stop crapping on the American worker and industry?  Is it not about time that special interests are eliminated?  Oh sorry, I forgot who I was questioning!

I am weary of listening the the manure these ideologues spread…..YOUR politicians, all of them, are self centered and worthless.  Not one has the best interests of the American worker at heart; only what they can get from the special interests and nowhere is that good for the nation or the working people of the country.

Here is a novel suggestion.  How about you guys climb out of the lobbyist’s pockets and do us all a favor–resign–ALL OF YOU!

Another Person Gets Thrown Under The Bus

Sen. John McCain said Sunday he would not necessarily support his former running mate if she chose to run for president.

Speaking to ABC’s “This Week,” McCain was asked whether Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin could count on his support.

“I can’t say something like that. We’ve got some great other young governors. I think you’re going to see the governors assume a greater leadership role in our Republican Party,” he said.

He then mentioned governors Tim Pawlenty of Minnesota and Jon Huntsman of Utah.

McCain said he has “the greatest appreciation for Gov. Palin and her family, and it was a great joy to know them.”

McCain was pressed on why he can’t promise support for the woman who, just months ago, he named as the second best person to lead the nation.

The whheels of the “Straight Talk Express” are getting bloody from all the people being thrown under it.  The Plumber threw McCain, McCain throws Palin, Palin throws everyone under the bus.  You gotta love the loyal within the GOP.

Here Is A Suggestion

Yet more from the opinionated editor of Info Ink.

The Senate wants the UAW workers to cut their pay by 1/3 to bring them more in line with the non-union workers in the factories in the South.

Maybe the Senators should lead by example.  Did you know that the Congress is due for a pay raise in the new year?  This to a group that has accomplished very little as far as leadership goes and they are calling for others who get taxpayers money to be fired.  The decisions of the Congress has made more disastrous decisions than any CEO.

Now ask, how much in contributions did Sen. Shelby get from Nissan, Toyota and Benz?  Or how much did Kentucky’s McConnell get from Nissan?  Or Corker? Or….well you get the idea…and what was promised to these companies for their support?  Maybe those Congress men and women that took auto industry money should be excused from making any decisions on their future.

If you do not like that suggestion, how about, the Congress should take a 10% cut in pay until the economy is healthy again.  Or a 10% cut in pay annually until the economy stabilizes.  They want the UAW to put some skin into the bailout, how about these do nothing idiots do the same?

May I suggest that these people finally grow a set of  ‘nads and LEAD BY EXAMPLE!  They are asking everyone to suffer and sacrifice except themselves.  That is not leadership; it is COWARDICE!

No Evictions For Fannie

Fannie Mae said on Monday it will allow tenants to remain in their homes and avoid eviction even if the building’s landlord goes into foreclosure.

Fannie Mae, the government-controlled U.S. mortgage finance company, said it now plans to sign new leases with rent-paying tenants living in the up to 4,000 single- and multi-family foreclosed dwellings owned by the company.

The leases are likely to be short-term as Fannie Mae continues to market the properties for sale, according to Brian Faith, Fannie Mae spokesman.

Foreclosures are at an all-time high and many economists, as well as the Mortgage Bankers Association, expect them to mount along with unemployment.

The company previously said it would not evict tenants during the year-end holiday season.

The company’s tenant eviction and foreclosure sale suspension is in place until January 9. It estimates 7,000 to 10,000 families have been able to stay in their homes because of this policy.

Freddie Mac, the second largest U.S. home funding company that also came under government control in September, is working on similar options that it expects to start rolling out in January, according to company spokesman Brad German.

We will see just how successful this will be or if they decide to say screw the homeowner, banks first.
