Sen. John McCain said Sunday he would not necessarily support his former running mate if she chose to run for president.
Speaking to ABC’s “This Week,” McCain was asked whether Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin could count on his support.
“I can’t say something like that. We’ve got some great other young governors. I think you’re going to see the governors assume a greater leadership role in our Republican Party,” he said.
He then mentioned governors Tim Pawlenty of Minnesota and Jon Huntsman of Utah.
McCain said he has “the greatest appreciation for Gov. Palin and her family, and it was a great joy to know them.”
McCain was pressed on why he can’t promise support for the woman who, just months ago, he named as the second best person to lead the nation.
The whheels of the “Straight Talk Express” are getting bloody from all the people being thrown under it. The Plumber threw McCain, McCain throws Palin, Palin throws everyone under the bus. You gotta love the loyal within the GOP.
I love it! Yes, McCain isn’t sure about supporting Palin for President in 2012, yet he thought she was “good enough” to be in a situation to inherit the presidency should he end his term early. Right.
I’ll be mostly M.I.A. starting Thursday. Traveling over the holidays. My mom doesn’t have a computer at her house, and that’s where I’ll be staying for the most part. I hope you’ve got nice, relaxing plans for the holidays!!!
I find it extremely funny the way that NO body seems to be happy with the McCain campaign…..ya think!
Jenny be careful and enjoy your time with friends and family and I will see you on the flip side. Peace.
Definitely–the McCain campaign was one of the most badly managed presidential campaigns in the last couple decades.
Have a safe holiday season as well! I will probably be able to continue to check on my site (and yours!) over the next few days, actually. Hmm… we’ll see! 😉
cool…do not eat too much……always more food and so little time….
