2010 Info Ink Movie Review #1

First of all, it is NOT a movie…even though the people participated would like it to be, it is rather a TV show…a reality piece of garbage and I will debate that it is NOT now nor ever will it be, entertaining……however a few conservs friends had badgered me about watching a show on TLC (The Learning Channel) to see what I thought of it…the show is Sarah Palin’s Alaska….to be honest I watched two episodes (that was I all I could take without throwing a brick through my Tellie)…….

If the show was actually about the natural wonders of the state…it would be more tolerable….but NOPE…it is about the Palin clan and their pretend adventures in paradise……we see the family fishing (and clubbing halibut)….canoeing and watching bears by the waters edge or the family out gunning for clay pigeons…..all of which does very little to promote the natural beauty of Alaska and everything in the promotion of Palin and her Tea Party political views…..her comments are loaded with political undertones…..like the bears,  Mama bear is teaching the cubs that you have to do everything for yourselves…no one will help you (according to the commentary of Palin) or her spotlight on the use of guns or…..and it went on and on…..

It was more like a long campaign ad for her and her possible political career….not about the beauty of her state and why we should be impressed with the vista that is Alaska…TLC should be pulled in front of the FCC for allowing a person to use a documentary format to reinforce a person political stands…….

It is a worthless piece of entertainment (about as entertaining as watching flies mate)  and a waste of perfectly  good air time…..

“I Could Beat Obama”!

There are times when I run across a statement by someone that just begs to be in my Anal-Ocity section for anal statements…..and this one is by Sarah Palin, bless her heart…..but after some thought….I have come to the inclusion that it may not be so anal after all……but first, the rest of the story…..

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin said she believes she could beat President Barack Obama in the 2012 presidential election and is considering whether to run.

Palin said in an ABC News interview that she’s “looking at the lay of the land” for a possible presidential bid and “trying to figure that out, if it’s a good thing for the country, for the discourse, for my family.” When asked whether she could beat Obama, Palin, the 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee, replied, “I believe so.” ABC released excerpts from the interview scheduled to be broadcast Dec. 9.

Okay, dream on!  She is NOT running…she is a master at appearing as something she is NOT…and she is NOT presidential material…….enough said?  I will give her her props….her reality gig is steeped in political overtones….scenes of mama grizzlies protecting her young….her comment on the accusation of her being a quitter as she claims a rock face saying she must do it for no one will help her….do-dah…..do-dah….all to subliminally reinforce her political stands…..
I will also give her an “atta girl”…….for her constant playing the media to keep her name and face in the news….it is almost masterful…..it sells a lot of books and gets her a lot of speaking engagements for which she gets tons of cash for saying NOTHING….not bad for a failed governor and VP candidate…..you betcha!

The Shark Is Circling

Oh…that should be the “mama grizzly” is circling….I am talking about our chief protagonist in this conserv political drama….one Sarah Palin….her endorsements in the mid-terms did not fare as well as she had hope and now she has found another thing to moan about….the Constitution is no longer that important….now it is the Federal Reserve and Bernanke…..she spouts:

In Palin’s prepared remarks obtained by The National Review, the former vice presidential candidate said the policy “deeply concern[s] her.”

“If it doesn’t work, what do we do then? Print even more money?” Palin will say.

“What’s the end game here? Where will all this money printing on an unprecedented scale take us? Do we have any guarantees that QE2 won’t be followed by QE3, 4, and 5, until eventually – inevitably – no one will want to buy our debt anymore? What happens if the Fed becomes not just the buyer of last resort, but the buyer of only resort?”

She is a Repub and she will most likely try her toes in the presidential waters come next year….and since she is a Repub there is something that she should be aware of…..

When Bernanke was running for re-confirmation of his post at the Fed…the Repubs could have changed all that……

If you dissect the vote, you find something very interesting: had the Republicans chosen to do so, they could have killed the nomination. The numbers come out 48 Democrat ayes, 22 Republican ayes, 12 Democrat nays, 18 Republican nays. Democrats alone did not constitute a majority of ayes. Thus, if those 22 Republicans had voted nay instead of aye, we’d be looking for a new Fed chair right now.

So maybe instead of chastising the Dems and Bernanke….she should scold her GOP colleagues for they could have prevented this situation altogether if they had shown some balls and voted against Bernanke…….she may be trying to show that there is more to her than a few tag lines that she uses over and over….but this is NOT the place to start your education in the American economic sphere……Sarah, honey…baby steps then move up to the more complicated stuff……

But for once, I agree with her about Bernanke and the Fed…..(pause here to check if Hell is Freezing)

Palin For President–2012?

Much has been speculated about the future of one Sarah Palin….questions like….will she run for president?  Will she continue her onslaught of the government?  Just what is her plan?

Pat Buchanan, a conservative analyst, one who I seldom agree with but do respect his insights has an opinion on Palin’s future run….this from Newser website….

Pat Buchanan takes a look at Sarah Palin’s winning endorsements and political calculations and doesn’t mince words: “Though the media have painted Palin as a ditz, no politician in memory has conducted a more brilliant pre-presidential campaign,” he writes at RealClearPolitics. He adds the qualifier “if that what she’s about,” but makes clear he thinks the White House could be hers.

In her endorsements, Palin doesn’t just automatically go for the most conservative candidate. She shows a smart “pragmatic” streak. “The one explanation that makes the most sense of all the seeming inconsistencies in endorsements is that Mama Grizzly is thinking about moving the Wasilla brood into the big house.”

Where he sees her an astute future politician….I must disagree…..yes she seems to have an uncanny way of picking who she will endorse…to me it does not show any in-depth analytical process….more like the loudest mouth against the government and the president….

Buchanan is good at what he does, but on this I feel think he is a bit off center.  She has a lot of baggage to eliminate before she could run…like quitting the governorship of Alaska half through her term….like boning up on reality and the world of issues and policies….slogans are cute but they cannot govern a country….fake anger is showmanship, plain and simple…..and she needs to stop using that poor baby as a prop, as a piece of luggage……..

The truth of the matter is when she works a crowd she is NOT looking for supporters but rather consumers….consumers for her books, speeches, etc.  It is not so much about the White House as rather the bank book.

If she was elected, she would be a 2 year president…..I said two year NOT two term….why?  Her past!  If she cannot handle a state like Alaska, she sure as Hell cannot handle a whole country and the problems of the world….

Thoughts Without Posts 2010–#5

As usual my notes got in the way…since I make about a hundred a day…logically they all cannot become a post on their own…these are some of the notes that did not make it into the “Big Show”

1–Sarah Palin thinks ALL laws should be based on the Bible….if they were she might not be able to go on the tube and collect a salary…

2– Tiger has a bulging dick and he had to withdraw from his latest tourny….you kn0w I have to take my shot……I was thinking that was what got him in all his trouble.  Huh?…oh a bulging disk….my bad!

3–BP will try to use “garbage” to plug the leak in the Gulf….yes I said GARBAGE….they are thinking that they would force stuff like golf balls, shredded tires, etc…why noit?  They have been feeding us garbage for decades….

4–More Palin….she is writing a new book with sermons, speeches, books and movies that have inspired her over the year….what writing?  That sounds like a compilation…and she is NOT writing it just compiling it….and her ghost writer will do all the work….she still has not given the people that buy her crap and anything other than fertilizer….

5–I had a thought….no really…I had one……If I ever open a used car lot, I will hire Palin as a salesperson….why?  Anyone that can talk shit and sells crap like her could have future in the used auto industry…….

6–More on the Palin Brood…..daughter Bristol inks a deal for a $30,000 speech on abstinence…I cannot make this stuff up…it really can’t!

7–Is there some rule that says that the members of Congress must wearing black, grey or navy suits?  How boring!

8–The Congress gets full time pay for part time work….they work about 3 days a week, they get many benefits…I say screw ’em!  Make their pay reflect the number of hours they work a week…..flying back home to fund raise is NOT in their job description.  If you do not like that…how about pay them by piece work…..their pay reflects the actually legislation that they work on and pass.  If all this is too difficult, then find a way to give them an incentive to work harder and longer on behalf of the country.

9–Nver in my wildest dreams would I think I would agree with Anne Coulter on anything…this is just damn scary……http://newser.me/domZCx….my bad…this one HAD to be posted on….sorry….

2010/12 Election Series

For over a year I have been bitching about the GOP and thei9r obvious lack of alternatives to a Dem plan and their lack of leadership and take every opportunity to try and find some sort of actual plan and leadership…….

Since I live less than an hour from New Orleans, I thought I would spend some time checking out the Southern Republican Leadership Conference (SRLC) being held in the Big Easy.

Day one–Damn there are a lot of suits!  I saw the typical BS from conservs  and listened to the typical anti-Obama stuff…you know all the crap you hear on the tube?  I even saw Hannerity of FOX News fame hawking his latest book…….Liz Cheney was suppose to be there but I did not see her (thanx for small favors).  Then I listened to the Newt-ster ….he talked…he rattled and it boiled down to the usual….Obama sucks and tax cuts……once again there were no alternatives on how to put the country back on the right track…..just Obama Sucks!

Day two–do these people ever change suits?  More of day one…..opposition, misinformation and what appears to be more lies……the conservs were wound up tight…..Obama sucks!  And then along came Palin…..Sarah, Sarah, Sarah…….applause, applause…..talk, talk……..Our Lady Of The North……she delivered on her usual folksy rhetoric that had no base in reality…..she mock the president to the point of embarrassment…..and as usual she joined in the chorus of…Obama Sucks!  She also joined in the opposition and offered NOTHING in the way of a solution to the problems other than Obama sucks…….

The title of the this conference was Southern Republican Leadership……a misnomer…..it should have been the dance of the clowns…..if this was to offer up a leader for the GOP then it has failed miserably….it was more like an evening at the Improv than a political conference……..if this conference was put together to find a leader for the upcoming elections, then it failed horribly….all they accomplished was to give a platform to those with NO solutions, just cute little quips that does nothing to garner small applause…..this conference has nothing to do with political leadership, rather more like sour grapes….

Sorry to say that the GOP is still a rudderless ship with no captain, a circus with NO ring master…..2 days of observation was all I could stomach…this was NOT even good political theater….GOP, R.I.P.

Oh, The Hypocrisy!

Health Reform—the song that will NOT end!  Kinda like putting “ina-da-gada-da-vida” on the turntable and go out to get laid……

I have said this for many many posts…..the GOP is full of hypocrites with NO alternatives….I know that is a bit harsh….but the major players just keep making my case for me…..they cannot help themselves…..

I will give people the reason I say this over and over and over…….

The great “Maverick” John McCain is come out of the closet against health reform of any kind, but if you go back to the 2008 campaign and his ideas on health care then you will see that it sounds similar to the Senate bill that we have now….but he cannot find any spot to compromise…..HYPOCRITE!

Now we move to Mitt Romney who has derided “Obamacare” as the lunatic Right is calling it and which by the way Mitt has jumped on that band wagon, but if you listen to the reports then the health reform bill is modeled on the Massachusetts, which was supported and passed by Mitt during his days as the governor….and oh BTW, the Mass plan covers abortions…….but there is NOTHING that he can find to support…..HYPOCRITE!

Now to my fav GOP person Sarah Palin……by now we all know what she thinks of the health reform bill…socialism, death panels, etc, etc…….she derides the health bill at every turn, trying to strengthen her position in the polls…she says that Obama’s plan will ruin American medicine…..but wait there is a bit more….the Huffington Post has found an interesting post by Sam Stein:

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin — who has gone to great lengths to hype the supposed dangers of a big government takeover of American health care — admitted over the weekend that she used to get her treatment in Canada’s single-payer system.

The irony, one guesses, is that Palin now views Canada’s health care system as revolting: with its government-run administration and ‘death-panel’-like rationing. Clearly, however, she and her family once found it more alluring than, at the very least, the coverage available in rural Alaska.

One thing to add……HYPOCRITE!

And finally, we have another of my favs…..the Rush-ster, on his recent radio show he said that if the health reform bill passed, that it would be disastrous for the country and that he would move to Costa Rica (a paraphrase)……thinking…….if I am not mistaken, Costa Rica has universal health care run by the government…..HYPOCRITE!

They make way too easy for me……and for that I thank them……

2010 Anal-Ocity #6

Anal Statements on the Right…anal statements on the Left……anal statements everywhere…..what would the Info Ink’s Anal-Ocity Awards be without Sarah Palin?  She has another one in the running….

Recently Ms Palin was a guest on Jay Leno’s new show and she said these immortal words:

I studied journalism, my college degree there in communications. And now I am back there wanting to build some trust back in our media. I think the mainstream media is quite broken and I think there needs to be the fairness, the balance in there — that’s why I joined Fox. Fair and balanced, yes. You know because, Jay, those years a go that I studied journalism it was all about the who, what, when, where, and why, it was not so much the opinion interjected in hard news stories. … As long as there is not the opinion under the guise of hard news stories — I think there needs to be clear differentiation.

God I love this stuff!  Apparently all news organizations are editorialized except for Fox……..(long silence)…..please give me a moment to collect myself……Are you sh*tting me?

But I do not see where the media is editorializing….maybe some of the cable guys….of which FOX News is a member…..If a person has his/her name attached to the show, then it ALL is editorializing…..but to say that ALL other news groups are wrong in their reporting is just insanity…..and “fair and balanced” label attached to FOX is even more insane…..



What Happened To The Passion?

Note:  This was suppose to be a Monday post….but the Saints took precedence ……..sorry……..but the delay in this post gave me a chance to hear and read what others thought of the incident…..apparently few see it as I do…….

I recall the days of yore……60’s and 70’s…..when there was a actual passion in political movements…those days are long gone…now it is more about the money…prestige and power……no longer are there any statesmen…..instead we get a/holes on a power trip…..

I watched the speech given by Sarah Palin at the Tea Party Convention…..sorry to say…I was underwhelmed…….once again it was all about the attack on the Prez…..I was hoping that there would be a few more alternatives to the problems that everyone seems to want to point out…but I was disheartened yet again…..anyone and I mean anyone can attack a position or an issue…that takes absolutely NO thought or prep….the speech was all about what is wrong with the Obama Admin….I expected that and was looking forward to hearing her options…..but they NEVER came…as a matter of fact the speech was about as boring and noncommittal as her book…..sorry guys…call as I see it!  Personally, I do not see where her speech was worth the $100,000 price tag….

The Blogs on the Left are all over Palin and the notes she used written in her hand at the speech…..this from a HuffPost Exclusive:

Closer inspection of a photo of Sarah Palin, during a speech in which she mocked President Obama for his use of a teleprompter, reveals several notes written on her left hand. The words “Energy”, “Tax” and “Lift American Spirits” are clearly visible. There’s also what appears to read as “Budget cuts” with the word Budget crossed out.

I have NO problem with speakers writing notes about the subject…hell I have done it when lecturing…..but the words she scribbled look like core principles….energy, taxes, security, yada, yada….are core principles of the GOP….Like I have said I have used notes before but I NEVER had to remind myself what my core principles were…..

Now, if a person has to be reminded of their core beliefs then they are either scamming the public or just talking points….I have NO idea what Palin’s excuse will be…but the more I see and hear her, the more I question any position that sees her as a viable presidential candidate……

She offers lots of criticism but NO alternatives and apparently she is not sure what her core beliefs are either…..maybe her supporters should move past the “rock star” with cute sayings and look for someone that would do the movement proud…..sorry people…she lacks any passion; it is more about the money than the politics……..I do NOT think she is your answer……
