A Hen In The FOX House

Flash:  Sarah Palin will join the FOX news network as a paid commentator (go figure!)

Sarah Palin, ex-VP candidate, will be giving her insights on a wide array of political topics for FOX News….since her failed VP candidacy and her resignation as governor of Alaska and then her successful book tour for her book, “Going Rogue”; there has been wild speculation on what she will do next to keep her mug and political capital in the news….

When announcing her move to FOX News she said:

“I am thrilled to be joining the great talent and management team at Fox News,’’ Palin said in a statement posted yesterday on the network’s website. “It’s wonderful to be part of a place that so values fair and balanced news.’’

Her move to FOX will help keep her brand of populism before the American people….but there will be some debate on the statement, “…fair and balanced news.”  But since populism is more about tapping into the anger and ignorance of the grassroots, then Palin will be an instant hit.

Viewers who do not believe Obama is an American or health reform will kill their grandmothers or war is good business will gravitate to her like moths to a light and she has chosen to align herself with a news organization that has a history of misreporting the news and seldom corrects the misconceptions that they report…..in that case…she has found the perfect place to voice her opinions and she and Huckabee can duke it out for the populist viewer…..

Yes…I am thrilled!  She should be a constant source for the anal statements that I post….Sarah,  I wish you good fortune at FOX and  your assistance is appreciated……

Sista Sarah Tackles The Climate

No matter how one tries to ignore the obvious….you just cannot….not when it attacks you mentally every waking moment of every day…..our Sista Sarah is just such a venue…..just when you thought there was a lull in the amazing story of Sista Sarah….she drags you back in….yelling and screaming……No matter how hard one tries to let that story or chapter die….it is not physically possible for it to die……

The saga begins in the early hours of 8 Dec 09 when our heroine said:

that President Obama “boycott” an international conference on climate change underway in Copenhagen, because some hacked e-mails questioning the ethics of some scientists at a university in Great Britain have given the obstinate opposition to the concept of global warming.

We all know that she thinks that climate change is a made up story and went so far as to call Gore on it in an op-ed in the WaPo when she said the climate change was like “gravity.  It exists”.

Gore to Palin:

“The north polar ice cap has been there for 3 million years, the size of the continental United States, and it is disappearing before our very eyes. What do the skeptics think is causing that? Could it possibly have anything to do with the fact that we are putting 90 million tons of global warming pollution into the atmosphere here every 24 hours and that these consequences have been predicted for decades by the scientists?”

To which Palin tweeted:

“amazing 2 see Al Gore’s denial of the controversy–it’s like denying gravity”

Okay the media game of tag….the gotcha of politics……and then Laura Ingraham of FOX News brought up the prospect of a debate between Palin and Gore…..to which the reply was:

Oh my goodness. You know, it depends on what the venue would be, what the forum. Because Laura, as you know, if it would be some kind of conventional, traditional debate with his friends setting it up or being the commentators I’ll get clobbered because, you know, they don’t want to listen to the facts. They don’t want to listen to some reasonable voices in this. And that was proven with the publication of this op-ed, where they kind of got all we-weed up about it and wanted to call me and others deniers of changing weather patterns and climate conditions. Trying to make the issue into something that it is not.

So far that is the story…..it is she said…he said…..and the prospect of a debate on the issue of climate change is not an option…..well, we could have the debate but it would have to be by Sista Sarah’s rules….meaning that she can go off topic whenever she wanted but her opponent could not.

Personally, I would enjoy the debate and I think it would either make or break Sista Sarah in the process…..but of course….no matter what she does the people that love her will continue to do so and vice versa…..you betcha!

The Two Mules Of Sista Sarah

Could I have been wron…..wro….wr…….mistaken?  I may never admit….but I digress…..

First of all the mules I am speaking of are the burdens that she is carrying……a candidacy and a racial one…..

Her book, Going Rogue, has been critiqued by damn near everybody with an opinion, and that includes me…..go figure……I said that it was a “get even” book and not a policy book that some in Conservative talk radio has called it….but I will say that she has a book that will make her wealthy, at least for now……but with each book signing she appears to be running for office…..it is more a political event than a book signing…..

Let me ask, if you were planning to run for the nomination of your party where would be the most logical place to visit?……(insert long pause for thought)……..Iowa…is the correct answer…..

500 people waited in a line at Sioux City’s Southern Hills Mall to meet the 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee. But it was the location that set off a media frenzy, questioning even further Palin’s possible run for president in 2012.

Iowa’s caucuses traditionally kick off the presidential nominating season, and this was Palin’s first visit to Iowa, promoting only herself, since the election. Republican strategists have pointed out this stop on Palin’s tour was a sign not to be overlooked.

The Des Moines Register’s November Iowa Poll showed that more than two-thirds of Iowa Republicans view Palin favorably, as do about 60 percent of self-described conservatives. The numbers are on par with those of former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, who won the 2008 caucuses and has been considered a 2012 prospect. However, Palin raises doubts within the larger population. Also in that poll, a majority of Iowans said they had an unfavorable opinion of her.

As so many have reported….NO one goes to Iowa by accident…..especially a political person (not announced) like Palin.  Is she or isn’t she…is the question….she is keeping her plans close to her chest….but it will noit be long before she cannot stand being out of the limelight and that will happen after the luster fades from her book…..

But does she have the chops for a political run?  She is delusional and has a selective memory….two characteristics that make for an adequate candidate…..but can she swing people to her camp?….if you are old, white and grumpy….she will be your kinda candidate…..but the other people?

Chuck Heath’s quip that his daughter Sarah Palin skipped out on her studies after one semester at Hawaii Pacific College because she didn’t feel comfortable around so many Asians was intriguing not because of its blatant racism. The intrigue was that Palin didn’t deny she said it. In a backdoor way she confirmed that not only did she probably say it, but meant it. She said that she much preferred to go to school in Idaho because it “was more like Alaska.” Idaho could never be mistaken as the poster state for a multicultural population mix. The state is mostly white, rural, hard-line conservative, and in some places has been a fertile nesting ground for an assorted array of kooky, far out racist, para military groups.

Okay she does not like Asians or blacks or young voters……and Hispanics seem to have no use for her either….that leaves who?  Old white grumpy Southerners……about the only people left in the real GOP…..since Huckabee has crapped in his chili, that would make Palin the logical one to take his place as the leader of the populist conservatives…..are you scared yet?

The hopes of all Americans, well maybe not all, but most Americans is that we have functional government…..as it is now we do NOT…….but thanks to Plain and Tea Baggers (HA!) that will be a long time coming……too bad that the people’s voice is only heard in small murmurs….they, the people, could change the way things work in Washington, but it will need them to grow a set a huevos and take back the country from special interests and morons….

Beyond all that hoopla…..it the Tea Party becomes a true third party in American politics then I have a candidate for them…….our Sista Sarah…..

Is It A Conspiracy?

There are some that see a conspiracy at every turn….fortunately I am not one of those pea brains….but there are some situations that beg to be defined as a conspiracy…….and this time it appears, at least to me, that there maybe a conspiracy developing…..The Tour du Palin…..The book tour…..the “Going Rogue” Express…..the continuing saga of one Sarah Palin…..

Then what would the conspiracy be?  The Mainstream Media has its reporters on the book signing route for “Going Rogue”……My question is……why are the networks devoting so much time and resource in covering a book signing?  It cannot be that it is subjective policy book…in fact there is little to no policy in the book, just opposition to everything Obama…..then why is it so damn important?

NBC has a well respected journalist, Andrea Mitchell, covering the first stop of the signing express……this is reporter that can get an interview from just about anyone in politics and yet she is covering some mindless book tour….and reporting that the Palin crowds are some sort of a phenom……crap they have gotten some local color to do that sort of thing…..but what do I know?

Okay Professor what is up?  Appears, at least to me, that the MSM is trying to install Palin as the face of the GOP….they are assisting Palin in keeping her face in the news…..she, Palin, has NO substance and has NO policy sense whatever….no where does she deserve the coverage she is getting……and she does not deserve the free PR for her book…….that is unless the MSM is attempting to make her the “voice” of the GOP and in doing so helping liberals in their campaigns in the future……

I told you that I see a conspiracy…….I maybe WRO……Wr……..W….. (heavy sigh)…….MISTAKEN……this maybe just that the media has nothing better to report but the person that gets her facts from a placement at IHOP……

Palin/Beck For 2012

I tried….I swear I try to avoid posting on the Palin Saga….since she has NO experience past sign checks in Wasilla….she should NOT have the air time or camera time that she is receiving……but every time I try to move on past the manure pile….something always drags me back into the toilet…..

OMG!  The circus that was the last presidential election was not enough…..now we have Ms. Palin is on her whirlwind book tour….and then there is this:

Sarah Palin has suggested Fox News firebrand Glenn Beck could be someone she’d consider as a running mate if she makes a bid for the White House in two years.

“I can envision a couple of different combinations, if ever I were to be in a position to really even seriously consider running for anything in the future, and I’m not there yet,” Palin told the conservative news agency Newsmax.

This is just too rich to ignore…..do you recall the Rev. Wright circus?  If so, can you imagine the field day people will have with the crap that Beck spreads?  If you think that Palin has NO experience at being an effective politician, then Beck should scare the crap out of you.

She carves the spotlight and will do what she can to remain in the glow of media scrutiny…..media bites on whatever she says and reports and such and then she gets even more air time…..but is there a solution to the Palin saga?  You betcha! (he said with a wink)……IGNORE HER!……she will go away…when you give her the air of respectability you keep the teabaggers (HA…cannot say that without the sexual snicker) in the forefront of the political battle…they are a fringe……and the media does everything they can to marginalize any fringe movement….that is except the Palin Theater…..

For the sake of America’s political future……IGNORE HER!

Info Ink Book Review–“Going Rogue”

I had considered spending the $20+ for Sarah Palin book just to see where she was going with her “philosophy”.  I was saved the decision by my son-in-law who bought the book yesterday as it went on sale for the first time.  He said that he wanted my opinion of it before he decided whether to read it or give it as a Christmas gift…you know kinda like that fruit cake that makes the rounds….

The review is for “Going Rogue” by Sarah Palin……..

Sarah Palin…the former beauty queen, former news person, former major of a small town, former governor of Alaska and former vice presidential candidate….damn!  That is a lot of former and now she is a writer and according to right wing news person, Rush Limbaugh, she has written the best policy book ever……the best policy book written was one of the reason I wanted to read it……I am a policy analyst and junkie so with that recommendation I just had to read it…..

The 400+ pages was easily read….it was in the style of a 5th grader which means that anyone with half a brain can grasp what she is trying to say….which should make it a best seller and popular book……

But what does she write?  I now know that Todd without a shirt makes her randy……I know that she hates the media….which was something that was pretty well documented but she hates them to the point of taking them fishing with the hope that they would get muddy and s”slimy”….I now know, at least according to Palin, that the losing efforts on the GOP’s part was nothing to do with her…that she was the only winner they had…..I now know that the McCain campaign tried to control her eating habits……that Schmidt and Wallace were working against her and made her do things she knew was not in the best interests of the campaign…..her grasp of policy was nowhere in the book….she talked about the stim plan as if it was the bailout…..so the one policy she tackled was wrong…..

All in all her book is an attack on ther McCain organization and a call to arms for the mindless….there is nothing of substance in the book….which means that it will be a hit for this country loves mindlessness….that could explain the popularity of FOX and reality shows.

Okay back to Limbaugh…..he said the it was the best policy book written…..I thought I missed something and read it again….yes again…it is a very easy book to read when youi have nothing of substance to worry about checking…..the second time I was less impressed than the first time…..Limbaugh?  He is either getting paid to promote her book or he is a moron……I would like to believe that he is the first option and not the second……If anyone was looking for a policy book like other politicians, then you will be sadly disappointed.

The best thing I can say about the book is that no one will get a headache trying to keep up with her thinking….or if you suffer from insomnia….I prescribe “Going Rogue” and sleep like a baby.

These Political Types Are A Greedy Lot!

As always it is all about the cash not the service……the days of a person doing public service as their civic duty is long gone….now it is ALL about the GREEN……

I recall back in the day while grad school and studying the Revolutionary War period of US history…there were those that said that public service was a civic duty…that did not last long…..while I am not a Jefferson cheerleader, he was a statesman…..there is absolutely NO one in Washington that can be called that today.  In today’s political world it is all about power and money…..

The Senator from my state, left his post about a year early so he could get in under the cut-off date to become a lobbyist…he never worked for Mississippi…he diod work hard for Trent Lott…selfish SOB….

Look at Palin….she quite the governorship for the better of the state since there was so much legal wrangling going on…..she just wanted what wass best for Alaska…..is that echoing laughter I hear?…….

Let us be real….Palin left her duties as governor in pursuit of cash…she cared not for what was happening in Alaska…..$1.25 million advance on her book, as a client of a speakers bureau she asks for $75,000 + 3 first class plane tickets for a speech on a college campus and it looks like the going price for her to make a political speech is $100,000…..sound like a great gig if you can get it…….

I am not bad mouthing Palin…this is an all too common thing with ALL the Washington types…party matters not…….if the love of money is the root of all evil…..then Washington is crawling with evil……

This sounds like ALL our elected officials….not many in the government that are not millionaires……if not before they run, then after the are elected……maybe this explains a lot….what?….GREED…….Washington, Wall Street…….

These political types are a GREEDY lot!

And The Soap Opera Goes On And On And…..

Which soap opera?  The birthers?  The energy debate?  Maybe the health debate?  Which soap opera, professor?

None of the above….the most noxious of soap operas…..Sarah Palin.

Her ex-soon-to-be- son-in law. Levi is telling all in Vanity Fair:

He said that she probably did not know one end of a fishing pole from another and that the interviews she did in her Wal-Mart waders was all a sham…..and that she did not hunt and did not even know how to fire the gun she had in a box under her bed.  He continued with the kids doid most of the cooking or went to Taco Bell for her for dinner.  And that her and hubby Todd seldom spent any time together and that she seldom went to her son’s hockey games.  And finally, she impressed that SHE was the one that brought to pizzaz to the GOP and finally she wanted to skip being governor and go straight to making lots of money.

According to Johnston, Palin also rarely attended her son Track’s hockey games, and she often complained about her job as governor, saying it was “too hard.” She frequently fought with her husband, Todd, who slept in a separate room during the Republican National Convention. And, says Johnston, “there was a lot of talk of divorce in that house … times when Sarah and Todd would mention it and sound pretty serious.”(This is paraphrased for the sake of brevity)

I know…I know…why do I bring all this up….am I bad mouthing Ms Palin?  Not at all I just want to make the point…..that some will see this as the liberal media attacking Palin because they do not like her….and none it of it is true……am I right?……If that is the case, then using the same logic, is the stuff being told in opposition to Obama from the likes of FOX News or Limbaugh, is it true or lies because they do not like him.  If the liberals are attacking and lying about Palin is because she is a strong woman, then the crap by the ant-Obama people is because he is a strong black man and nothing else.

Okay, Radical Right…you cannot have it both ways…..

The Palin Hypocrisy

A couple of days ago I wrote on a hypocrite named Grassley and his support for the “death panel” thingy.  Well the person who pretty much started the term “death council is a huge hypocrite also.  I am speaking of the gformer governor of Alaska, one Sarah Palin.  She recently wrote on her Facebook page:

In a Facebook posting titled “Concerning Death Panels,” Palin argued Wednesday night that the elderly and ailing would be coerced into accepting minimal end-of-life care to reduce health care costs based on the Democratic bill in the House.

“With all due respect, it’s misleading for the president to describe this section as an entirely voluntary provision that simply increases the information offered to Medicare recipients,” and added, “It’s all just more evidence that the Democratic legislative proposals will lead to health care rationing.”

The issue is no longer viable for the six members of the Senate Finance Committee — three Republicans and three Democrats — working on a bipartisan bill, according to Grassley. In a statement, Grassley criticized the House bill, saying there was a difference between a “simple education campaign, as some advocates want,” and paying “physicians to advise patients about end-of-life care.”

Ain’t that great she is standing by her recent accusation of grandma being put before a “death panel” if the Dem health plan is passed.  Nice words from a politician and Ms. Palin is just that…a politician and she does what politicians do…forget there is always a paper trail of their actions.

She has seemingly forgot her action on April 16, 2008, yes that was before she became the Repub candidate for vice pres, she endorsed the following:

WHEREAS, Healthcare Decisions Day is designed to raise public awareness of the need to plan ahead for healthcare decisions, related to end of life care and medical decision-making whenever patients are unable to speak for themselves and to encourage the specific use of advance directives to communicate these important healthcare decisions. […]

WHEREAS, one of the principal goals of Healthcare Decisions Day is to encourage hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, continuing care retirement communities, and hospices to participate in a statewide effort to provide clear and consistent information to the public about advance directives, as well as to encourage medical professionals and lawyers to volunteer their time and efforts to improve public knowledge and increase the number of Alaska’s citizens with advance directives.

WHEREAS, the Foundation for End of Life Care in Juneau, Alaska, and other organizations throughout the United States have endorsed this event and are committed to educating the public about the importance of discussing healthcare choices and executing advance directives.

It is amazing how fast a conservative to change the position to fit the occasion  The more that their hypocrisy is pointed out the more informed the voters will be…now we can only hope that they take the time to read and educate themselves on ALL issues.  Sad to say, the “rational ignorance effect” is all too common when dealing with the public.

Steele Trap Of A Mind!

Many well respected GOP members are jumping on the bandwagon with a lie…the lie about “death Councils”…..it all stared with some conservative wingnut named McCoy and it has snowballed into a whole set of lies and a bunch of misinformation…..and the GOP isd climbing onto that vehicle.

Even the head of the RNC is playing this lousy game.  When asked about the comment that Palin recently made about “death councils” he said and I quote from his interview:

Well, I think it’s, I think it’s proper because its within the context of what people are seeing in some of the legislation that’s floating around out there. When you’re talking about panels that are going to be imposed, that will be making life and death decisions, that will be making decisions about whether or not you get health care or don’t receive health care. I think that’s perfectly appropriate.

This was Steele’s defense of Palin’s comment on “death councils” on FOX News with Cavuto. Take that for what it is worth.
