2012 Anal-Ocity #14

In my search for the most anal statements uttered by people in the news, I have accused of giving Dems a break……..well, I think that is a mistaken perception….I hate anal statements NO matter who utters them…..and today’s anal-ocity is from our Prez……..I listened to his energy speech the other day and found something wrong….not so much an anal statement but more like a historical lie….and as we know I dislike people that misrepresent history……. our Prez made it into the running for tha Assie Award at the end of the year…..

While speaking about energy he said this…..

President Rutherford B. Hayes’ apparent dismissal of the telephone. But while Obama thinks the GOP is in need of a science lesson, he may need to bone up on history himself.

In mocking the GOP, Obama cited an anecdote about Hayes in which, upon using the telephone for the first time, he said, “It’s a great invention, but who would ever want to use one?”

“That’s why he’s not on Mount Rushmore,” Obama said. “He’s explaining why we can’t do something instead of why we can do something.”

That is just wrong and i am here to set the record straight…… Nan Card, curator of manuscripts at the Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Center in Ohio, told TPM that the nation’s 19th president was being unfairly tagged as a Luddite.

“He really was the opposite,” she said. “He had the first telephone in the White House. He also had the first typewriter in the White House. Thomas Edison came to the White House as well and displayed the phonograph. Photographing people who came to the White House and visited at dinners and receptions was also very important to him.”

All I ask is that these politicians stop trying to re-write history to fit their narrative…..is that too much to ask?

It’s All Those Damn Czars!

Today is the Penis Primary (look at Florida on a map…then tell me what it looks like)……And before the first vote is cast the MSM has proclaimed Mitt the winner….since you do not have to watch the returns maybe you would like to read this…..

Recently I wrote a post, Why Are Repubs Angry, where I asked the question that the media keeps pushing on the unsuspecting viewer……and I finally got to ask a long time conserv in my area….I have what I think is the real reason but I wanted to hear from someone that will vote GOP regardless of who is nominated….a person that thinks that the election is about beating Obama and NOTHING else…

It cannot be Obamacare for it has not been totally implemented….cannot be the spending or they would have really pitched a bitch with Bush….maybe it is the bailouts, but wait! Bush did it too and it saved us or so they would have us believe….then just what is it?

So I put my question to her….Why are Repubs angry?—–and boy was I surprised….it wasn’t Obama-care, or the bailouts or the fake issue of pushing class warfare……they said it was Obama’s use of “czars” and Obama’s circumvention of the Congress on his nominees…

At first I was flabbergasted…..I am sure I stood there with my mouth open looking like a deer in the headlights….it took me a minute to get my brain back in gear…..

First I had to point out the obvious….the term “czar” is employed in media and popular usage to refer to high-level officials who oversee a particular policy.  There have never been any U.S.  government offices with the title “czar”, but various governmental officials have sometimes been referred to by the nickname “czar” rather than their actual title.

Some people refer to those people not confirmed by Congress as czars….and that brings us to the part about the circumvention of Congress…….if that is the biggest bitch then I need to point that EVERY President since FDR has had “czars”.   GW Bush had 28 czars….Obama has had 33….. were they just as pissed at Bush?  (that is a rhetorical question for we know the answer)……..even the God of the GOP, Ronald Reagan had a czar….it was a drug czar named Carlton Turner…….

So I point out…..that to be angry about the circumvention has got to be about all circumvention…..with that said…I stand by my original conclusion…..the Repubs are so angry because there is a black man in the White House….and no amount of trying to justify any other way is just a lie and a cover up for the real reason for the anger…..

State Of The Union–2012

Looks like my readers are pretty fed up with the political side of life…..since the volume of comments has dropped considerably I have decided that this will be the last post I will do on the crazies running for the nomination….I will now concentrate on economics and explaining parts of the process that some may be unfamiliar with in this time of circus-like atmosphere……however I will weigh in when stupid comes to roost…….

Last night the leader of the “free world”, Pres. Obama, gave his 3rd state of the union address and it was a doozy…….kudos!  A good speech, but then aren’t they all?  The media will spin this as one of his best speeches and find all the points that they want to emphasize, whether pro a or con….now just read on and hear the truth about the speech….

With that said, did anyone hear anything new?

Let me recap…..income inequality, education, jobs, immigration, energy…..all lies told to fools!

These are the same ideas that almost every president highlights and then does NOTHING to correct the problems…..so kids will still go hungry, the top 1% will make billions, people will still be looking for work, and the media keep painting a system that is on the rebound…..

Let me hit you with a glove of reality…I do not care how they tart it up and no matter what sugar coated manure they hand us…….the state of our Union sucks!  No jobs, children hungry, homes lost,no real health care,  banks stealing the country blind, veterans ignored……

In other words….you wasted a lot of your time listening to stuff that will NOT happen……you could have spent your time outsourcing your citizenship to reality TV…….something Americans excel at…….

Finally, there was one less GOP whack job there…..Colorado’s Rep. Doug Lamborn (R-CO)….this is the guy that said…..”I don’t even want to have to be associated with him,” Lamborn had said, according to the Colorado Springs Gazette. “It’s like touching a tar baby, and you get it — you know, you’re stuck, and you’re part of the problem now, and you can’t get away.”  (Another great American politician)……

Now how about the GOP response?

You would have gained more information by watching flies f*ck!

Then there was the Tea Party response.  Not even SNL could make it more humorous…….there will be a Libertarian response….and No one will care!

The Scary Scenario

Monday and a return to the insanity we call….Politics.

In the last couple of months there has been much criticism of Obama and even to the point where bloggers like myself have written numerous posts on whether President should face a primary challenge…….even some national figures are calling for the prez to face a primary….people like Nader, Smiley/West….granted he has done a bit in the way of his promise of change and even less reason for the American people to have hope….again.  But with all his failings, should Obama real face a primary challenge?  You decide that one.

There have been many that think running an independent would not have a better opportunity than in the election of 2012.

At last polling, which was about 5 minutes before I wrote this piece, no matter what time you are reading it,  the president’s approval rating is sinking and his challengers are even less liked by the American people….now let us say that we want someone to challenge the status quo in Washington and some poor sucker is conned into a third party run….and let us say that they are popular to the middle but only draw about 30% and that would mean that the other two parties would split the remaining 70%…..cool huh?  It would show Washington that the people were fed up and willing to embrace a different way of voting….

Political Wire is reporting….

Pollster Stan Greenberg tells New York magazine that it’s inevitable there will be an independent presidential candidate.

Said Greenberg: “Somebody will run as an independent in 2012. You don’t have 80 percent of voters saying we’re on the wrong track and not have an independent candidate. In 1992, Ross Perot carried 20 percent of the electorate with a pretty well-defined bloc that tended to be younger, white, male, and non-college. But right now, independents are so diverse that it’s not obvious that anyone could capture all of them. Trump might win the ‘fuck you’ vote. Bloomberg might pick up more of the business-oriented suburban segments. I think the ideal candidate is probably a businessperson who’s not from the financial community, who has a strong anti-China current and a strong America-first current.”

Hopefully people know enough about the voting system to know that the candidate needs about 270 electoral votes to win the election…..never mind the popular vote…….it will come down to the electoral vote…….and if the votes are distributed as I have written about….that would mean that the election would be thrown into the House of Representatives for a solution and the electing of a president……

Now think back to the past couple of years……would you trust the Congress to decide who won the election…..an institution that has an 82% disapproval rating?  With that much divisiveness it would be a circus…..want an example….then read about the election of 1824 and how Andrew Jackson was screwed…..and then tell me what a good deal this would be.

Well I would like to see someone challenge this system of cronyism…..I think that we had not want to push the envelope too much until we get our government back from the special interests….sad to say, but the traditional two party election may be the wisest way to choose a president….at least in this partisan world of Washington politics….

Apples To Oranges

The recent Republican debate made me think of Reagan, not so fondly but after all it was in his library in Simi Valley……let me elaborate……

Well, we all know what the media thinks about Obama and his handling of the economic crisis…..we know what the media thinks…..and the GOP and the Left wing of the Dems……we know that he is NOT doing enough for the jobs creation market…..we know all the socialists programs that are failing (sarcasm)…….but we know that I am not a big defender of the Prez because I feel he has not gone far enough……but I must break my pledge….

Here we go!  All the old farts in the media…..Stahl, Brokaw, Noonan, Dowd, etc, etc……you know the ones that have been around since Christ was a corporal…..anyway…..mot of these pundits like to compare Obama to Reagan;s first term…..they talk about his decisiveness, his humor, his mannerisms, etc….then they talk about Obama’s lack of leadership, indecisiveness, his lack of communication, etc….you have heard it all…..but every time I hear these overpaid (insert derogatory term) make this comparison I want to throw a brick at the tellie…..

It must be the “old fart syndrome”……..they think that because they covered Reagan in his hay day that some how gives them some sort of special insight into the presidency…….it does NOT!  It makes them look OLD and out of touch!

This is an extremely unfair comparison…..why?  Reagan did NOT have to deal with a 24/7 news cycle….he did not have to deal with the extreme partisanship…….he did not have to deal with lack of respect or lack of unity or the lack of civility…..and Reagan did NOT have to live with daily polling…….so it is moronic to compare Reagan and Obama.  Time for the media to grasp the reality that yesterday’s analysis does NOT and will Not fit in today’s 24/7 news cycle……

Comparing Apples To Oranges…….STOP IT!

More Free Trade Pacts?

Back in the 1990’s, I wrote several pieces about what the proposed free trade acts would do to the economy in this country…I believed then that they would do NOTHING good and on the contrary would cost American jobs and loss of industry…of course, in those days I was called a commie for NOT wanting to see a free trade act….not much has changed……….I am still called a commie more likely a socialist but not many know the difference……why do I rehash the past?

Well, guess what?  The Obama admin is proposing a…..wait for it……a free trade act……that is right…yet another free trade agreement……

This time it is agreement with Panama, Columbia and South Korea and the White House has said that it will create American jobs…..really?  Is that not what NAFTA was suppose to do?  Don’t hurt yourself…..that was the promise.  Now if anyone recalls, candidate Obama said that reforming NAFTA to make it more worker friendly would be a priority for his admin…..that was pretty much a lie…there has been NO reform of NAFTA.  It seems that the Obama admin has allowed corporate America to write up these newest proposals….and guess what?   It will put millions of Americans back to work……REALLY?

If that is true why would they say this?

The Obama administration said on Monday that it would not seek Congressional approval of free trade agreements with Colombia, Panama and South Korea until Republicans agree to expand assistance for American workers who might lose jobs as a result… The announcement puts the White House in line with Congressional Democrats who have made expanded benefits a condition of their support for the trade deals.  (Quoted from the NY Times)…

Let me see if I have this right?  The trade agreements will create jobs but before it goes into effect the Congress must make provisions for any job loss that is created by the agreement……..”The administration is simultaneously selling the trade deals as engines of job growth while admitting that the deals will likely kill so many American jobs that Congress must preemptively cough up money to clean up the corresponding economic wreckage.”  (Quoted David Sirota in Salon.com)….

You still do not think it is all one big game in Washington?  Just once I would like for the American people to get all the info before they go off half cocked….I know….a silly notion!

The Cairo Promises

Well sports fans…the Pres will make another “major” Middle East speech….but will it make a difference or will it be just another speech?

Remember back some 17 months ago….Pres. Obama was in Cairo making an unforgettable speech….one of his best according to some sources….he talked about AQ and extreme Islam, Palestinians and a array of subjects…,.basically, saying that the US was going to do better in the Middle East over the last administration……after such a moving address…..how has he done in keeping his promises….an opinion piece in the Post of Pakistan touches on this subject……

President Barack Obama’s pledge on Wednesday to strive for better relations with the Muslim world drew skepticism in Cairo, where last year he called for a new beginning in the Middle East after years of mistrust. In a visit to Indonesia, the world’s most populous Muslim-majority country, Obama acknowledged morSeventeen months after Obama’s Cairo University speech, al Qaeda is still threatening the West, peace talks between Israel and the Palestinians remain stalled over the issue of West Bank settlements and US troops remain in Iraq and Afghanistan. Many in the Middle East believe that Washington’s tight alliance with Israel makes it impossible to end the suffering of the Palestinians, breeding cynicism among Arab Muslims toward US intentions in the region. “It’s all speeches — in the end the same American politics, and Jewish politics, continues,” said Cairo retiree Mohamed Abdel.e needed to be done to repair ties with the Muslim world.

There you have it….seems that moving and inspirational speech made 17 months ago has done little to solve the problems of the US in the Middle East….like they say….it was nothing but a speech and no one in the area really consider for a moment that anything would change….SURPRISE!  Nothing has changed!

And yet Obama will try again….and once again NOTHING will change….he will make a good speech and that is about it…there will be NO change in Yemen or Syria or Bahrain or the Israeli/Palestinian conflict…..so I say again…NOTHING will change!

2011 Anal-Ocity #12

Holy Crap!  When it rains it pours!  I am always looking for the most moronic and anal statement made by people in the public, whether it is the media, the Tube or a public person like a politician and over the years I have found many and I DO mean many….but from time to time I find one that just cannot be real and after research I find that it is REAL…..and then a trigger goes off in my head and wonder just how a person could say something so moronic and then believe the lunacy they spout…..and then there are those that listen to and then repeat the anal statements……I question their mental capacity…

This time it is a conserv analyst that one would see on several different cable shows offering up his analysis…..one Frank Gaffney!  In a piece he wrote for the Washington Times, a conserv newspaper, he called the “Qadafi Precedent”:

“Gadhafi Precedent” could be “used in the not-too-distant future to justify and threaten the use of U.S. military forces against an American ally: Israel.

May I say again…..HOLY CRAP!

And people listen to this person as a qualified expert….About all I can do right now is shake my head in disbelief….and then think about how accurate John Stuart Mill was when he said…..”Conservatives are not necessarily stupid, but most stupid people are conservative”……I apologize to my conserv friends but someone in the conserv movement needs to stand up and call these types of people what they are….MORONS!

2011 State Of The Union

College of Political Knowledge

I was up most of the evening trying to find something to say about Obama’s recent State of the Union….I watched…I chuckled and I wanted to puke…..but enough about me….after many hours of thinking about the speech and about 2 in the morning I had an epiphany……NOTHING NEW!

Same song…..same dance….different president…….I could leave it there but for those who do not normally pay attention to the ramblings of a president….let me elaborate……

He wants the US to be innovative, competitive and creative…….he would emphasize education….he would decrease the deficit…..he would like a innovated infrastructure….he wants investment in the future……he would champion bi-partisanship….he wants a reformation of government……he also threw in the obligatory mention of the troops and their families…..But WAIT!  There was something a bit new….a mention of a spending freeze…..but how does spending cuts lead to investment?

All in all a good speech but most of Obama’s speeches are good speeches…..(wait for it)…….But (and there it is)……he said all the things that Americans want to hear……and he said NOTHING that past presidents from Nixon to Obama have not said at almost every state of the union especially the education thing….always gets lots of lip service and goes NOWHERE…if we had spent the money that the presidents had promised in the last forty years, we would be unstoppable globally…..we are NOT!  Another major thing is the deficit…..but if anyone thinks that you will get a grip on spending by cutting funds to NPR or any of the other smaller recipients of government funds….then one would be an idiot!  The major spending programs must be addressed…all of them or the only success that he will have had would be another good speech or idle words….like so many others before him……..

Recently a friend and I were talking about the state of the union speech and she asked if the president has to give the speech……..Not really!  The president is NOT required to give a speech bur…..the Constitution has the answer…….

according to Article 2, Section 3, is:

He shall from time to time give to the Congress Information of the State of the Union, and recommend to their Consideration such Measures as he shall judge necessary and expedient.

So NO….he is NOT required to give a speech only to inform the Congress an outline of his direction……(and that is the American History lesson for today)…….Or he could do what so many other presidents have done……send a letter to Congress outlining his proposals……this is what was done from Jefferson to Wilson, who made a speech which we Americans have come to expect……but the American people are like that schizoid woman who wants to hear ‘I love you’ before she has sex and then the promise dies and we go about our business until the next time we want a feel good moment…….and between the speeches we go about waiting for those promises to be fulfilled until we need another shot of verbal ejaculation to alter our feelings…….

All this is so much political theater…..even the BS of unity by these Reps sitting together in a show of civility….it is so much crap!  American were told what they wanted to hear….NEVER what they need to hear…..and the song goes on…..Promises said…promises broken….NOTHING new here!

THIS IS A WASTE OF TIME!

2010 Presidential Scorecard

As of noon today, Pres. Obama will begin his 3rd year of his presidency and as usual I will give my score card of his accomplishments as president……

Foreign Policy…..75…..C+

Domestic policy…..85…..B

Bipartisanship…..75…..C+

Leadership…..75…..C+

Keeping Promises…..70…..C

His overall score as president is 75 or a C+….this is higher than originally calculated because of his successes in the Lame Duck session of Congress….In my opinion, so far he is only slightly above average as far as a president goes……these next two years will determine if he will be known for more than being the first Afro-American president…..
