CPAC–2019

Yep it is that time of the year again….the annual CPAC meeting…the meeting of the conserv minds (not now but in the past….it was where big political ideas were hashed out)…….now it is a collection to dolts, buffoons, misogynists, bigots and total mental midgets…..in other words cheerleaders of the Trump presidency.

I have waited for some of my conserv friends to post on the meeting….so far any true conserv is avoiding this group of slugs at all costs.

I guess it will fall on me to give my analysis……I am a progressive, a radical in some eyes, so my analysis may be a bit skewed….

The “Big Ideas” this time around is abortions and creeping socialism……in other words those ideas from the 1980s and Reaganite ideas and policies…..this is the best mental midgets can do.

Plus where are the Big Idea conservatives?  Gone to podcasts everyone……most true conservs will not come to help justify the stupid that is the Trump policies…..conservs like Rick Wilson, Bill Kristol, Steve Schmidt, etc……people that still think in conserv ideas and not the manure that Trump and his enablers push…..

Opening day of CPAC gave us a step back into conserv history……

Starving people eating dog food. Parents aborting babies after taking them home from the hospital. That was the dark vision — of creeping socialism and of abortion unrestrained — that marked the opening day of the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), the annual gathering of conservatives that offers an untrammeled view of Republican perspectives, and a sign of where the party is headed politically. President Trump is expected to speak at the conference on Saturday morning.

Reason.com has an op-ed that sums up what most true conservs are feeling about CPAC……..

This is what I’m thinking as I work up the courage to attend the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), held annually just outside of Washington, D.C. The event, sponsored by the American Conservative Union, officially started today and thousands of conservatives are out in force. CPAC started in 1974 and there was a time in the Aughts when it routinely reached out to libertarians and even groups such as the ACLU. Over the years, Reason people, including myself, have spoken on panels there. But that was then and this is…a weird political moment where the Republican president is chumming it up with a North Korean dictator while his former personal lawyer and fixer is testifying about his boss’s alleged high crimes and misdemeanors before Congress. And the House is rejecting the president’s emergency declaration about a Southern border crisis. These are not normal times, so is there any reason to expect CPAC to be an island of normalcy? Probably not, especially given some relatively recent highlights of the conference.

https://reason.com/blog/2019/02/28/is-cpac-still-whack

As a progressive I like a good debate with my conserv opponents and friends….but what the GOP has now is NOTHING like the conservatism that many were proud to embrace……now all they have is hate, bigotry and falsehoods…..

I hope the conservs can reclaim their mantle for I miss them in the public discourse….but they cannot do it with the collection of slugs at this year’s CPAC….look at the agenda and the people that are talking……SLUGS!

http://cpac.conservative.org/agenda/

Our Beloved Supreme Leader had his day in the sun of CPAC…..his speech was a rehash of the 2016 election, the size of his inauguration crowd and finally he said that anyone that does not kiss his flabby ass hates America.

Two hours of rambling, babbling lies and bullsh*t (his word not mine)……was boring with NOTHING new…not even the use of bullsh*t was new……He gave yawns instead of ideas…..

President Donald Trump told an appreciative audience of conservatives Saturday that he will win re-election in 2020 and by a bigger margin than his 2016 victory, the AP reports. He mocked Democrats for their framework to combat climate change and said House lawmakers pushing to expand their investigations of him are “sick.” In a wide-ranging speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference, Trump rehashed his outsider campaign that overcame long odds and a crowded field of established politicians to claim the White House over Democrat Hillary Clinton. When he made his prediction of a second term, the crowd responded with chants of “USA, USA, USA.” Trump praised the conservative movement, saying “Our movement and our future in our country is unlimited.”

As he looked back to 2016, the president described himself as “probably more of a conservative than a Republican,” but says people just didn’t understand that. Trump also called the Mueller probe “this phony thing” and took aim at the Democrats’ Green New Deal, a policy proposal floated by some liberal Democrats in Congress and backed to varying degrees by several of the party’s 2020 presidential candidates. “I think the New Green Deal or whatever the hell they call it—the Green New Deal—I encourage it,” he said before mocking the notion of a world with “no planes, no energy.” The Democratic plan calls for a drastic drop in greenhouse-gas emissions from fossil fuels such as oil, coal and natural gas, but in no way grounds airplanes or pivots the country to renewable energy only.

All in all CPAC has become an enabler of a worthless ineffective president…..the GOP is truly lost and as some have said…it is dead…..

Appearing on MSNBC with host Alex Witt, GOP strategist Rick Tyler was visibly upset at what he heard from Donald Trump during his speech at CPAC, and even more so by the enthusiastic reception the president was receiving.

Asked by host Witt, “What can be done to resurrect the Republican Party as it was — or is that gone?” Tyler said the party is dead.

“Rest in peace,” he lamented. “No, it’s over. The problem is that the Republican Party has no grounding governing philosophy anymore because they’ve signed on to all these things as I just mentioned that were antithetical to the conservative movement.”

DEAD…Dead…dead!

All in all CPAC is degrading to the conservs, degrading to American politics, degrading to the office of president and finally degrading to the sense of good taste…..

Turn The Page!

The Man Is A D/Bag!

While my better half is looking the other way……

We had the AG of the United States, a person who works for the people of the US, testifying before the House.

First let me say…the man was a condescending twat…he treated the people the represent the people of this country with utter contempt….a smug a.hole that was doing nothing to answer question accurately…his only concern was to brown nose his way with Trump for another job…..

This cue ball d/bag should have NEVER been allowed anywhere neqr a government job….for he cares little about the nation only what he can squeeze of the government…..a dick!

That is what I saw with this smug wanker……

Acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker appeared before the House Judiciary Committee Friday for a hearing that was as contentious as expected. Democrats repeatedly grilled him about the Robert Mueller investigation, and Whitaker insisted he has not “interfered in any way” with the inquiry, reports Politico. One of the more notable moments came as committee chairman Jerry Nadler was questioning Whitaker. “Mr. Chairman, I see that your five minutes is up,” Whitaker said, drawing laughter, reports the Washington Post. (See video of the exchange here; it’s around the 1:40 mark.) Whitaker also told lawmakers that he has not spoken to his boss about the Mueller probe.

“I have not talked to the president of the United States about the special counsel’s investigation,” Whitaker said. He declined to say whether he agreed with the president’s view that the investigation is a “witch hunt.” GOP Rep. Douglas Collins called the hearing “pointless” and accused Democrats of “character assassination.” Whitaker, meanwhile, seems to be near the end of his temporary tenure. The Senate is expected to confirm William Barr for the permanent position as early as next week. (Whitaker appeared only after Democrats agreed not to subpoena him.)

All in all this mental midget was a total embarrassment to anyone that has every held a government position.

I stand by my analysis……the MAN IS A DOUCHE BAG…kinda like his boss.

Closing Thought–12Oct18

So much happening in the world….so much news to be had…..a devastating hurricane, a missing presumed dead journalist, a market that is sliding and endless wars……so much happening and the president, Our Dear Supreme Leader, held an TV event in the Oval Office yesterday……he had a face to face with a nose picker, Kayne West.

No joke….one babbling idiot to another….

Elvis’ 1970 White House visit with Nixon has nothing on Kanye West’s sit down with President Trump on Thursday. Ostensibly, the meeting was to be about urban revitalization, workforce training, African-American unemployment, clemencies, and Chicago crime, per CNN. But in a freewheeling, 10-minute monologue the rapper, seated across from Trump in the Oval Office and decked out in his MAGA hat, touched on a vast array of subjects, leading USA Today to muse that “Kanye West out-Kanyed himself.” Of the aforementioned MAGA cap, Kanye told Trump, “There was something about putting this hat on that made me feel like Superman.” Here are some more choice moments from West’s visit to the White House, F-bombs and all:

  • “Trump is on a hero’s journey right now,” West said, per CNN, adding, “He might not have thought he’d have a crazy motherf—er like me [as a supporter].”
  • Speaking of cars, according to the Detroit Free Press, West said, “One of the things we gotta set is Ford to have the highest design, the dopest cars, the most amazing—I don’t really say dope. I don’t say negative words and try to flip them. We just say positive, lovely, divine, universal words. So the flyest, freshest, most amazing car.”
  • Regarding his recent revelation that he was diagnosed as bipolar, CNN reports, “I actually wasn’t bipolar, I had sleep deprivation.”
  • West did talk about clemency for Larry Hoover, alleged leader of the Gangster Disciples who is serving a life sentence, Slate reports. “There’s infinite amounts of universe and there’s alternate universe,” West said. “So it’s very important for me to get Hoover out because in an alternate universe, I am him.”

Want more? Watch the video here.

“Don’t worry about the future….all we have is today”……total CRAP!  But will play well with the head bobbers that support the Supreme Leader.

Is this what America wants from its “president”?  I am guessing yes…..the media covered this but not some of his rallies….so apparently the confused babble of Kanye is more important that the issues and news of the day.

My my how far will my country sink into the muck of stupid?

Please have a good day and a better weekend…..chuq

A Lingering Stench

Recently in a rally/speech/BS session Our Dear Leader made a reference of a stench in Washington…..he meant the Justice Department but I think he was looking in the wrong place……if there is truly a stench in DC then it comes from the source of most of the rotting policies comes from …….. the White House.

Instead of harping on an economy that is looking good Our Dear Leader has reverted back to  his silly little game with the DOJ.  Then there is the GOP…..they should be beating the economic drums for the mid-terms and yet they are going in a different direction……

House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wis., says his party has a great economy and a “phenomenal record” to run on.

But that’s not the campaign most Republicans wage as they scramble to defend their congressional majorities in the home stretch of the 2018 election.

In recent weeks, fewer than one in five Republican ads have mentioned jobs or the economy, according to data provided to the USA TODAY Network by Kantar Media’s Campaign Media Analysis Group (CMAG), which tracks political ads.

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/elections/2018/09/20/midterms-economys-booming-but-not-most-republican-tv-ads/1347592002/

I would advise the GOP to go with their strength but then on second thought….they have NO strengths…..they are cowards that do what they are told.

Nunes, Media Mogul

The Lapdog is fighting back!

If you do not like the news then make it up…..something the GOP excels at doing.

Trump’s own little boot licker has started a way to fight Fake news…….

Devin Nunes isn’t just complaining about what he sees as liberal “fake news.” He’s created his own media company to fight back, reports Politico. The Devin Nunes Campaign Committee has provided the money behind a site called the California Republican, which promises “the best of US, California, and Central Valley news, sports, and analysis.” (It was slow to load on Sunday, perhaps because of increased attention; it also has a Facebook page.) Two sample headlines: “CNN busted for peddling fake news AGAIN!” and “Understanding the process behind #ReleaseTheMemo.”

The latter is a reference to Nunes’ efforts as chair of the House intelligence panel to release a memo alleging bias by the FBI and Justice Department in the Robert Mueller investigation. Nunes has long complained that pretty much all coverage about him and his ally President Trump is tainted by bias, and a spokesperson emphasized the point when asked about the media company: “Until Politico retracts its multitude of fake stories on Congressman Nunes, we will not go on the record.” But Vox noticed that the California Republican seems to have issued its first tweet in the wake of the story: “We are real news, POLITICO.”

This whole thing is getting silly and yet pathetic…..if I do not agree with these types then everything I write is Fake News and everything they write is Fake News…

Calling something Fake News simply because you do not agree with the subject is silly…..but convincing people is as simple as taking to Twitter and calling stuff Fake News.

Speaking of Fake News……a historical look-see……..

Before Facebook, there was the coffee house. In the 17th-century, panic gripped British royal circles that these newly established drinking salons had become forums for political dissent. In 1672, Charles II issued a proclamation “to restrain the spreading of false news” that was helping “to nourish an universal jealousie and dissatisfaction in the minds of all His Majesties good subjects”.

Now, 350 years on, legislators across the world are seeking to do the same. Last week, the House of Commons digital culture, media and sport committee flew to Washington DC to grill representatives of big tech companies, including Facebook, Twitter and Google. The title of their session echoed Charles II: “How can social media platforms help stop the spread of fake news?”

https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2018/feb/11/fake-news-long-history-beware-state-involvement

Back to this person….this Nunes tool…..is in support of a person….not the nation….he deserves NO respect and should be arrested for violating the oath he took to become a Congressperson…….he is not protecting the rule of law……instead he is protecting a person.

Let The Praise Begin

Have you ever witnessed an event that you know was painfully superficial?

Yesterday was one of those events…..the cabinet fawning over the president was disgusting and sickening…..and a “cheese-eaters” paradise.

A scene out of some egotistic autocratic theater…..I could cite a historical equivalent but few would appreciate it….so straight to the report….

“We’ve achieved tremendous success,” President Trump declared at his first formal Cabinet meeting on Monday, and he certainly wasn’t the only one praising his administration: Asked by Trump to introduce themselves, the group took it in turns to flatter the president before reporters were ushered from the White House’s Cabinet Room, the Guardian reports. Chief of staff Reince Priebus was among the most effusive, saying, “We thank you for the opportunity and the blessing that you’ve given us to serve your agenda and the American people,” reports the Telegraph. “It is the greatest privilege of my life to serve as vice president,” said Mike Pence. “The president is keeping his word to the American people.”

“Never has there been a president, with few exceptions, the case of FDR—he had a major Depression to handle—who’s passed more legislation, who’s done more things than what we’ve done,” Trump said, claiming to have delivered on campaign promises at “record-setting pace,” NBC reports. Some Cabinet members gave brief updates on the work of their departments, while others stuck to praise. “Mr. President, what an incredible honor it is to lead the Department of Health and Human Services at this time under your leadership,” said Tom Price. The tone of the meeting was mocked by Trump critics including Chuck Schumer, who tweeted a mock video in which aides showered him with compliments, Reuters reports.

This was a shameless show of egotism……it is pathetic that this man needs to have his ego massaged on a regular basis…..illustrates the quality of the people that he surrounds himself….cowards and spineless slugs.

I can see why most of the cabinet did not serve in the military….they are cowards!

What Happens When Idiots Are Elected?

Since his election to the US Senate from the state of Arkansas I have been anything but supportive of this moron…..I am speaking of Tom Cotton…..

This babbling buffoon came of the public eye because he took it upon himself to write a letter on the Iran nuke deal….and he even got more of his GOP butt buddies to go along with his break of esprit de corps……

All GOP d/bags love to use the Constitution as a political prop and then spend every waking hour trying to find ways to violate the document……Cotton is NO different!

Sen. Cotton has stolen Jeb’s thunder with his bill…….

“I will fight to restore the Patriot Act’s metadata program to ensure we have the ability to connect the dots between known foreign terrorists and potential operatives here in the United States,” former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (R), another White House contender, said in a speech at The Citadel in Charleston, S.C., on Wednesday.

Jeb will have to find a new tagline to show his chops.

Do you like your privacy?  Kiss it good-bye if this mental midget gets his way….

The freshman senator runs roughshod over the Constitution after a horrific terror attack. Sound familiar?

Source: Tom Cotton’s repugnant Paris fear-mongering: Why his new surveillance legislation should have you outraged – Salon.com

It will be interesting to see how many on the Right that were upset at past attempts to infringe on our privacy will support his idiots lame attempt to look relevant…….

2016: Finally Some Sanity

There are way too many normally rational people that are taking Trump seriously……..he has done nothing to lead me to believe that he is anything but a self-promoting toad.

It is people like this douche that is destroying the American political system and turning it into a joke around the world.

I cannot believe the number of people that are taking Trump’s immigration BS as some sort of truth…….all he does is throw grenades with the hope that one will land and get him the attention that he cannot live without……

Even the media is treating him like he is some sort of candidate that has a chance at the nomination…….he does NOT!

At least one news source has come to its mind and and has shown that there is some sanity left in news reporting……..

Donald Trump may be at or near the top in the latest GOP polls, but you’ll no longer find him in the Huffington Post’s political section. The site announced today that coverage of the Trump campaign is moving to the entertainment section. “Our reason is simple: Trump’s campaign is a sideshow. We won’t take the bait. If you are interested in what The Donald has to say, you’ll find it next to our stories on the Kardashians and The Bachelorette.” The decision, however, doesn’t seem to be going over well:

  • Wrong: At the journalism site Poynter.org, James Warren thinks the move is “especially dubious in an era where the nexus of entertainment and politics is often quite obvious and growing.” Buffoon or not, Trump has clearly “touched some nerve of dissatisfaction” among voters. He wonders, too, whether HuffPo has heard of other celebs-turned-politicians like Ronald Reagan and Arnold Schwarzenegger. And how on earth will it cover the debates?
  • Ditto: “Cute but shortsighted,” writes Allahpundit at Hot Air. “Do they really want to end up stuck running their stories about President Trump’s inauguration in the sideboob vertical?” More seriously, the post notes that the “Trump boomlet” is a “real, fascinating thing” worth covering.
  • Hypocritical: “Huffington Post is taking the bait, because they’re continuing to cover Trump and will continue to benefit from the clicks,” writes Dylan Byers at Politico. In fact, “one might conclude that Huffington Post’s announcement amounts to the same Trump-style grandstanding they claim to condemn.”
  • But what if…:Business Insider asked HuffPo’s Ryan Grim what the site will do if Trump wins. No problem: “He will not,” says Grim. “I’m as likely to get it as he is.”

Byers adds that hours after its announcement, HuffPo sent out a clarifying email acknowledging Trump’s impact on the GOP and the immigration debate “is itself a real thing” and will be covered “as substance, but anything that tumbles out of his mouth will land on the Entertainment page.”

It is painful to see people repeat the utter crap that Trump spouts…….hopefully the rest of you will come to your senses…….please treta Trump like the piece of crap he is……..he deserves nothing but ridicule.

I would not even give him the entertainment thing……the comics is a better place to cover his “campaign”…….or perhaps in the “Help Wanted” section……

A (Sen.) Cotton Picking Moron

Correction:  Recently in a post I referred to Cotton as a Representative….he is in fact a Senator from Arkansas…..I apologize for my mistake…..all else is pretty accurate!

I see that the junior twat from Arkansas has not learn to shut his idiotic mouth……this yahoo was the one that started the whole Iran Letter debacle……he decided that he would get his time in the spotlight by acting like a fool……and he succeeded.

It is bad enough that this tool with NO experience tried to undermine a treaty negotiation….but the 47 others knew what they were doing and signed the letter anyway….knowing that it was a bone headed move.

This person (I use the term very loosely) is from the party that is always throwing the Constitution around every time they need a political prop…..let me refresh this mental midget on the Constitution……

Article II, Section 2, Clause 2 of the United States Constitution, includes the Treaty Clause, which empowers the President of the United States to propose and chiefly negotiate agreements, which must be confirmed by the Senate, between the United States and other countries…….

Sorry to piss on your shit parade but….you f*cked up, Bubba!

But did he learn a lesson?  Oh Hell NO!

In his first speech to his esteemed gathering….Sen. Cotton once again showed that he has NO grasp of what he is doing…….his speech was about the military and it was a doozey….

“An alarm should be sounding in our ears,” Cotton said. “Our enemies, sensing weakness and hence opportunity, have become steadily more aggressive. Our allies, uncertain of our commitment and capability, have begun to conclude that they must look out for themselves, even where it is unhelpful to stability and order. Our military, suffering from years of neglect, has seen its relative strength decline to historic levels.”

Cotton was clear: America must have “such hegemonic strength that no sane adversary would ever imagine challenging the United States. ‘Good enough’ is not and will never be good enough.”  That strength, he said, should come at whatever the necessary costs. While the budget must be slashed, it should not be balanced on the backs of the military.

“Our enemies and allies alike must know that aggressors will pay an unspeakable price for challenging the United States,” Cotton said. “The best way to impose that price is global military dominance.”

Looks like he wants to be in line to take over from the other two yahoos in the Senate….McCain and Graham…..when they are no longer capable of leading……which some say is about now.

Defense contractors will be paying lots for this clown’s words and support……should keep him in campaign cash for awhile.

The (Rep.) Schock Of It All

Friends have asked me why I no longer write on politics and political theory…..the easy answer is why?  It is a waste of time and effort on my part when we have NO true politicians left…..just ego-centric twats that are in it for themselves……they are worse than clowns…..for clowns can be entertaining….politicians are not………but they are pathetic and disgusting………….as this post will attest……

Remember back, my friends……in 2008, I believe, this Dem. Rep from Louisiana was found with lots of cash in his home freeze…….and the right wing media went batcrap crazy.  Then there was the Repub senator from Nevada that was bumping his employee’s wife while in DC…..and who can forget Weiner’s weenie?  Let’s not forget the Repub Rep that threatened a journalist in the Capitol Building and was then caught with his winkie in the till.

My point is that the clowns we elect are not something to be proud of…….and now the most recent ego centric little prick has resigned……that Rep. from Illinois…..Rep. Schock…..the one that decorated his DC office like Downton Abbey, the one that was using campaign funds for joy rides in planes and the one that claim 175,000 miles of travel on his expense account when his SUV only shows 80,000 miles……does that refresh your memory?

Now that he is resigning he will continue to stick it to the American taxpayer even after he leaves DC……..

Schock, a Republican from Illinois, could eventually collect hundreds of thousands of dollars in taxpayer-funded retirement benefits, depending on how long he lives.

Starting at age 62, he will be eligible for just under $18,500 annually, according to estimates by the National Taxpayers Union, a conservative nonprofit organization.

According to a June report from the Congressional Research Service, members of Congress who have completed at least five years of service are eligible for taxpayer-funded pensions beginning at age 62.

The amount of a former congressional member’s pension varies, but the payout is based on the number of years of service and an average of the member’s three highest years of salary.

Is it not about time that the US takes perks away from the morons that act in an unprofessional way?  There should be NO benefits for being a disgrace to the American people…..PERIOD!
