Pistol Pete For President?

There is so much confusion around the 2028 election….will Donny try mto break the Constitution?  If not who will try to step into the MAGA void no Donny would create?

Would it be the idiot Vance?  How about Pistol Pete?

Pete Hegseth is already looking beyond the Pentagon, according to NBC News, which reports that the defense secretary has told confidants he’s weighing a 2028 presidential bid. The outlet notes that Hegseth and his wife, Jennifer, have been mulling the idea for months, seeing him as sharing some of President Trump’s appeal with the MAGA base—especially his combative style and hard-line stance on social issues. His recent trip to the Iowa State Fair to stump for GOP Rep. Zach Nunn has only fueled whispers on the matter. More:

  • Hegseth response: Officially, Hegseth says he’s not running and is focused on his current job. “His main priority is leading the War Department. All other speculation is foolish,” a Pentagon spokesperson says. Hegseth himself tweeted about it, calling the NBC report “100% false,” adding, “We told NBC that, but they just lie w/anonymous ‘sources.'”
  • Obstacles: Any run would come with baggage, including the unpopular Iran war Hegseth oversees, a watchdog finding that he mishandled sensitive military information on the Signal app, and criticism from former defense secretaries over his partisan political activity while in office, per NBC.
  • Public opinion: Perhaps Hegseth is denying NBC’s report because he’s already seen the polls: Newsweek reports that early polling has shown Hegseth to be a “long shot,” citing a CPAC straw poll from March that earned Hegseth just 1%; Vice President JD Vance drew 53%, while Secretary of State Marco Rubio came in with 35% (3% were undecided).
  • Possible? Salon’s Amanda Marcotte writes, however, that a potential Hegseth run “isn’t a joke,” noting that the defense chief “is the man most closely aligned with white evangelicals, who still make up the majority of GOP primary voters.” “In a field of dull choices like Vance or … Rubio, Hegseth’s over-the-top masculinity act, which reads as clownish to people outside MAGA circles, could be just the thing to push the former Fox News weekend host over the top,” Marcotte writes. NBC adds that Hegseth has become a frequent presence on the campaign trail to rally Trump voters and is a favorite with male Trump voters.
  • The woman behind the man: The Daily Beast, meanwhile, details how Jennifer Hegseth is working behind the scenes to whip up his “dramatic new power grab.”

Of course he would deny the report….for he must stay in the good graces of Donny and not upstage him….

Here is what some polls show….

The report comes as speculation over the 2028 Republican presidential field continues to grow, with several members of President Donald Trump’s administration already being discussed as potential candidates. Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio have emerged as two of the most prominent names, while other Republicans—including Donald Trump Jr. and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis—have also been floated as possible contenders.

Not one of those names will instill confidence in the office.

A president Vance would be laughable but a President Pete would be scary from the very beginning.

Are the American people that stupid?  Don’t answer that for the answer is obvious.

New toys for ‘sadists’….

First the new ‘shock gloves’….

Immigration and Customs Enforcement is putting millions into a new way to deliver pain, CBS News reports. The agency has approved a $16.7 million, no-bid contract for 6,000 “G.L.O.V.E.” devices—patrol gloves that can be switched into an electric-shock mode and used on people who are “actively or passively resisting,” according to federal documents. At roughly $2,500 each, the gloves are pitched by ICE as a “distraction and de-escalation” tool that could reduce reliance on physical force and firearms.

The six-month contract with Kentucky-based Compliant Technologies comes as ICE faces scrutiny over use-of-force incidents, including two recent fatal shootings during attempted vehicle stops in Maine and Texas. Sixteen Senate Democrats are urging ICE to cancel the deal, citing concerns about safety, oversight, and use during civil immigration arrests. Civil rights advocates have also raised alarms about the gloves, the AP reports. Per the Guardian, shock gloves were allegedly used 27 times against a man in a Kentucky county jail who later died. Homeland Security officials call the criticism an effort to deny officers needed protective gear.

If that was not bad enough ICE now has plans for the use of a robotic ‘war dog’….

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is planning to spend up to $2 million on robot “dogs” to assist its agents’ operations, according to a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) funding document.

A funding document posted to DHS’s Acquisition Planning Forecast System on Thursday said the agency could spend between $1 million and $2 million on Boston Dynamics’ “Spot” robot and accessories.

A senior DHS official confirmed the plans to NBC News and told the outlet that the robots will not be used to make arrests. The Hill has reached out to ICE for comment.

The technology is already in use by several law enforcement agencies, including the Los Angeles and New York police departments. The U.S. Secret Service also previously used the robotic dogs to secure President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home in 2024.

These robots are equipped with cameras and sensors that can detect vibration, gas and radiation, according to Boston Dynamics.

Remember The Falklands?

In my reading I come across some stories that make me scratch my head and laugh…..and this one caught my eye.

The Falkland Islands….this is for those too young to know what the Hell I am talking about….this is a nutshell look….

The Falklands War was a 74-day undeclared conflict in 1982 between Argentina and the United Kingdom over the sovereignty of the Falkland Islands and South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands.

  • Territorial Dispute: Argentina claimed the islands (which they call Islas Malvinas) based on proximity to South America and a supposed inheritance from the Spanish Crown in the early 19th century. Britain had asserted permanent rule since 1833 and emphasized the right to self-determination of the local population, who wished to remain British.
  • Political Divert: In late 1981, a military junta led by General Leopoldo Galtieri took power in Argentina amid severe economic unrest and sought to use a popular nationalist campaign to unite the public behind the regime.
  • Perceived Weakness: Argentina misjudged British resolve, interpreting recent Royal Navy budget cuts and the withdrawal of patrol vessels as a sign that the UK would not fight to defend the remote archipelago.
    • The Invasion (2–3 April 1982): Argentine forces launched an amphibious invasion of the Falkland Islands, quickly subduing the small local Royal Marine garrison, and followed up by occupying South Georgia. [1, 2]

“I would expect the UK to receive special attention because it has so much potential,” the US official told the publication. “We will therefore continue efforts to incentivise and enable the UK to step up in a major way.”

They said that changing America’s stance on the UK’s claim to the Falklands, which the US president has previously considered, was a possibility.

I use to think that Donny was a loud-mouth with half a functioning brain and now I think his brain is screwed in his ass and the escaping gas makes his mouth move.

Oh that is right he is an author and game shoe host who better to lead the country than that?
