Where’s The Outrage?

After Charlie boy was killed there was a multitude of condemnation and finger pointing as to what caused the terrible act…..and as usual the response from the moronic Right was it all came down to antifa (do not capitalize because it is not a proper noun).

But yet when some semi-human asswad on the Right has some harsh words aimed at a lawmaker there is no condemnation forthcoming.

Just what am I going on about?

An Arizona Republican state representative who has expressed support for January 6 insurrectionists on Wednesday called for a Democratic congresswoman to be executed, as a response to a video clip.

The comment on X by state representative John Gillette of Kingman, Arizona, first reported by the Arizona Mirror, was a reaction to a short clip drawn from a YouTube video in March by US representative Pramila Jayapal, a longtime Democratic congresswoman representing Washington state, entitled “The Resistance Lab.” In the video, Jayapal discusses preparations for street protests against the Trump administration.

“Until people like this, that advocate for the overthrow of the American government are tried, convicted and hanged … it will continue,” he posted.

Nothing in either the clip or the longer video actually suggests Jayapal is advocating for the overthrow of the US government. The video carries explicit calls for non-violent protest and discussed with alarm a rise in political violence in the US.

Gillette’s comment is a continuation of a string of inflammatory far-right online invective by the Mohave county Republican and retired army reserve command sergeant major. Gillette has defended January 6 protesters, who were intent on violently overturning Trump’s defeat by Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential election, as “political prisoners” and described Muslims as “terrorists”.

Why does this semi-literate piece of shite get a pass?

Then there is antifa has been a set up to make it the catch all for all the ‘hate’ speech that Repubes do not appreciate…..

Donald Trump wants to crack down on “a group that doesn’t actually exist,” said Edith Olmsted in The New Republic. The president signed an executive order this month designating antifa—short for anti-fascist—as a “domestic terrorist organization,” citing its supposed “armed standoffs with law enforcement” and “organized riots.” There are a couple of problems with this. The first is that antifa is not a cohesive organization but rather a loose, leaderless ideology that brings together various individuals and groups under the banner of opposing fascism. Then there’s the fact that U.S. law allows only foreign groups to be designated as terrorist organizations. The domestic terror designation might legally “be a flop,” but it still has its uses, said Matt Sledge in The Intercept. Anti-Trump protesters might stay home out of fear of being labeled terrorists. And the order also threatens the prosecution of those who finance antifa, hinting at how the administration might target progressive mega-donors such as George Soros, who Trump accused without evidence of funding violence following the murder of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

Did you get that you trolls….it is a loose, leaderless ideology…..so how do you go after something that has no HQ and no leader?

It is at best an excuse too find something that can be used to generate sympathy for the use of troops in our cities.

Here is a factoid for the idiots…..do you realize that those that participated in the Normandy invasion were anti-fascists ergo antifa.

Get that empty head around that.

If the GOP wants people to sympathize with their idiotic bullshit then maybe they should be constant and honest abut their intentions.

That would be refreshing for the GOP has not been honest with the American people since the election of 1956  (look it up)

So until they are outraged at all ‘hate’ speech then I will refrain from saying anything in support of their stupidity.

Remember Those Lower Drug Prices?

Our Clueless Leader had promised to lower drug prices by 1500% (unrealistic at best)….well I have not seen any lower prices on the meds I must take….how about you?

Actually a study has shown that over 600 different drugs have gone up in price…..while we wait for the promise to be fulfilled….

As President Donald Trump’s deadline for large drugmakers to make “binding commitments” to cut prices expired on Monday, Sen. Bernie Sanders released a report showing that the cost of hundreds of prescriptions has risen in the United States since the Republican returned to office in January.

In response to the president’s May executive order and July letters giving drugmakers 60 days to act, Sanders (I-Vt.), ranking member of the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee, “directed his staff to examine prescription drug prices,” explains the report, The Art of the Bad Deal: Trump’s Failure to Lower Prescription Drug Prices.

The committee staffers documented price increases for 688 medications—310 brand-name drugs and 378 generic ones—during Trump’s second term, with a median increase of 5.5% and 25 treatments more than doubling in cost.

“Of the 17 companies that received a letter from President Trump on July 31, 2025, 15 raised the price of at least one product since Trump took office,” the report notes. “Since Trump sent letters asking drug companies to lower prices, the prices of 87 drugs have increased.”

Overall, the highest hike was 1,555% (there is that 1500% promised). Eton Pharmaceuticals increased the price of Galzin, which is used to treat a rare genetic liver disorder called Wilson’s disease, from $5,400 to $88,800 per year in the United States—even though it only costs $1,400 in the United Kingdom and $2,800 in Germany.

The report highlights some other examples, such as Novartis’ cancer drug Kymriah, which increased by $25,600, or 4.5%, to $594,000 annually. In the UK, it costs $381,000 a year, and in Germany it’s $282,000. The report also notes the company’s executive compensation last year: $83.3 million.

Vertex jacked up the price of Trikafta, used to treat cystic fibrosis, by 7%, or $23,900, to $365,000 a year, according to the report. Just north of the US, in Canada, it’s only $146,000. The company’s executive compensation for 2024 was $12.7 million.

Looks like once again we have been had…..an all too common result when Donny’s promises are not upheld.

But wait!

Donny and that mental midget in charge of HHS have a new plan to lower prices….

The White House is rolling out two new initiatives aimed at lowering drug prices, though many details remained in flux.

  • President Trump said Tuesday that his administration had struck a deal with Pfizer to sell its drugs to Medicaid patients at lower prices, reports the AP. He also suggested deals with other drugmakers would follow.
  • He also announced a new TrumpRx website at which people could directly buy medications at prices negotiated by the government, per the Washington Post. It was not clear when the website would be up and running. Drugs from Pfizer will be sold there.
  • The impact on everyday Americans was not immediately clear because direct-to-consumer sales are generally for people paying out of pocket rather than through insurance, explains CNBC. Because most people use insurance, such sales “are not going to help the average person at all with achieving lower costs,” says Vanderbilt professor Stacie Dusetzina.
  • The initiatives follow a Trump executive order in May that pressed pharmaceutical companies to lower prices through voluntary agreements. The deadline for those agreements expired Monday. Because of its deal, Pfizer gets a three-year grace period to avoid tariffs on drugs made overseas.
  • “The American consumers have been subsidizing research and development costs for the entire planet,” Trump said in the Oval Office, per the Wall Street Journal. “It’s being changed as of today.”

Before I give an ‘attaboy’ I want to see the rest of the story…..details are in flux does not sound good to me.

The sad part is the people that are hurt the worse are still rabid supporters of a liar and a bigot…..what does that say about the mentality of some Americans?

Keep believing and keep looking for the poor house.

This Amazing Shutdown–Update

We are in a battle of ideologies which has been the same for decades…..this group is at fault…..that group is unyielding….blah, blah….

But as my usual style I like to keep my readers as up-to-date as I can…..

Twice they tried….twice they failed…..

In what may become a daily occurrence while the government shutdown continues, rival stopgap spending bills were voted down in the Senate on Wednesday. A Democratic proposal to fund the government until Oct. 31 failed in a 53-47 vote, with Republicans united in opposition, the BBC reports. A House-passed Republican proposal to fund the government for seven weeks also failed to advance after a 55-45 vote. Both measures, which needed 60 votes to pass, failed by the same margins Tuesday night, leading to the shutdown at 12:01am. As in Tuesday night’s vote, Democrats Sens. John Fetterman and Catherine Cortez Masto voted for the GOP proposal, as did independent Sen. Angus King, while Republican Sen. Rand Paul voted against it.

There were no signs of a breakthrough that would end the deadlock on Wednesday, the New York Times reports. Both sides blamed each other for the shutdown. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said Democrats were “reflecting what the American people really want” with their push for healthcare funding, while Senate Majority Leader John Thune refused to link the issue to keeping the government open. “Everybody’s now asking the question, ‘How does this end?'” he said, per the Times. “It ends when Senate Democrats pick this bill up passed by the House of Representatives and vote for it.”

And true to form the Senate takes a break (but from where I sit they seem to always be on break) and slink off to pout and bitch.

The Senate adjourned for the day on Wednesday with no resolution on how to reopen the government. Blame was being cast on all sides on the first day of the shutdown. A vote to end the government shutdown failed earlier Wednesday, as Democrats in the Senate held firm to the party’s demands to fund health care subsidies that President Trump and other Republican leaders have refused to extend, the AP reports.

  • At issue are tax credits that have made health insurance through the Affordable Care Act more affordable for millions of people since the COVID-19 pandemic. The credits are set to expire at the end of the year if Congress doesn’t extend them—which would more than double what subsidized enrollees currently pay for health insurance premiums, according to a KFF analysis.
  • Republicans including Vice President JD Vance accused Democrats of holding government services “hostage” and said they would be willing to talk about extending the credits, but only after the shutdown ended. “Let’s reopen the government before we have our negotiation about health care policy,” Vance said Wednesday, per the Washington Post.
  • Senate Majority Leader John Thune says that his message for senators trying to cobble together a bipartisan solution for funding the government is “when you have critical mass, come and talk to me.” That means any bipartisan fix will need support from at least eight Democrats. Thune gave no sign a negotiation was happening among leaders and appeared resigned to allowing the funding bill to sit in the Senate for at least several days, the AP reports.
  • Sen. Dan Sullivan of Alaska confirmed Wednesday that he is part of a group of GOP senators working on a plan to extend the subsidies, Politico reports. He said that talks have been ongoing for weeks and that the group’s proposals are not being raised in negotiations to end the shutdown.
  • The New York Times reports that the administration moved to “maximize the pain” of the shutdown for Democrats on Wednesday, with officials preparing for mass layoffs and moving to halt or cancel $26 billion in funding for projects in Democratic-led states.
  • On video screens in the White House briefing room, the Trump administration played videos depicting House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries in a sombrero. One of the deepfake videos, which had been shared by Trump on social media and were widely condemned as racist, began playing on monitors in the briefing room Wednesday afternoon. One deepfake video has Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer implying that Democrats seek to give free health care to immigrants in the country illegally while Jeffries, standing beside him, is depicted as wearing a Mexican sombrero and fake mustache. A second video, showing a clip of Jeffries condemning the first as “disgusting,” again depicts him that way, with an all-Trump mariachi band playing behind him.
  • Vance played down the videos at the briefing Wednesday, the Washington Post reports. “The president is joking, and we’re having a good time,” he said, adding that if Jeffries helps “reopen the government, the sombrero memes will stop.” In a post on X, Jeffries said, “JD Vance thinks we will surrender to the Republican effort to gut healthcare because of a Sombrero meme. Not happening Bro.” He shared a meme of his own superimposing an image of Vance with a fat head and curly, long hair on a video of him in the briefing room earlier.

This is where the saga ends for the day…..accusations, pouting, and bitching…..all things Congress does exceptionally well.

Stay tuned there is more to come….more antics, more accusations and more fun for us analysts.
