Hateful Little Sh*ts

For some time now I have watched the GOP hate our democracy and have done a swell job of hacking at it until the shell is about all that is left.

To finish off the job started decades ago the young will be needed and it appears that they are embracing the MAGA line and letting their hatred show….

This from some chat and is very disturbing….

Politico got a hold of a group chat of leaders of Young Republicans groups across the country—which was teeming with racism, antisemitism, rape jokes, and other filth. Pejoratives like the homophobic f-slur, the n-word, and the r-word appeared more than 251 times combined in the Telegram chat, which contained Young Republican leaders from New York, Kansas, Arizona, and Vermont.

The chat, called “RESTOREYR WAR ROOM,” seemingly included young Republicans aligned with the “Restore YR” faction of the Young Republican National Federation, or YRNF.

Peter Giunta, who at the time was chair of the New York State Young Republicans, was “the most prominent voice in the chat spreading racist messages,” Politico reports. (He apologized for the messages but told the publication he has “no way of verifying their accuracy.”)

In the group chat, Giunta reportedly referred to Black people as “watermelon people,” and wrote of an NBA playoff game: “I’d go to the zoo if I wanted to watch monkey play ball.” While discussing his support of another young Republican group, he wrote that “they support slavery and all that shit,” which he approvingly called “Mega based.”

On another occasion, Giunta told his fellow chat members: “If your pilot is a she and she looks ten shades darker than someone from Sicily, just end it there. Scream the no no word.”

“I love Hitler,” Giunta joked elsewhere. He also said those who voted against his ultimately unsuccessful bid to become YRNF chair would be sent “to the gas chamber,” leading his fellow New York State Young Republicans to crack additional jokes about the Holocaust.

Giunta lost the YRNF chair in August to Hayden Padgett, whom Giunta referred to as “Hayden F—t.” Numerous other members of the group chat used demeaning language against Padgett; for instance, Luke Mosiman, the chair of the Arizona Young Republicans, wrote, “RAPE HAYDEN.”

Another joke about sexual violence, unrelated to Padgett, came from Bobby Walker, the vice chair of the New York State Young Republicans, who called rape “epic” in a separate exchange.

Is this the future of the GOP?

It must be since the VP has come out in defense of these little sh*ts….

JD Vance has leaped to the defense of Young Republicans after alleged leaked messages showed them chatting casually in a racist, antisemitic and violent way.

Politico published leaked messages reportedly sent in a Telegram chat between senior members of the Young Republicans campaign group, including one writing: “Great. I love Hitler”. But Vance described the outrage over the messages as “pearl clutching.” Vance himself once compared Trump to Hitler, but he has since changed his tune on these comments.

Writing on X, seemingly referencing the Young Republican group chat, Vance wrote: “This is far worse than anything said in a college group chat, and the guy who said it could become the AG of Virginia. I refuse to join the pearl clutching when powerful people call for political violence.”

This could be our next supreme leader…..a pathetic waste of skin.

Sickening that any American could praise Hitler.

The Death Of American Diplomacy

For a few years I was employed by the US State Department as an analyst….and I have watched the role of State as the diplomatic corps for the nation diminish…..until we come to today and the whole idea of diplomacy has become something of a dream replaced with idiots that would not know true diplomacy if it bit them in the ass.

Today Donny’s secretary of state, Rubio, is so incompetent that he allows his role in the world to be dictated by a mad man….

In the past few days, senior US diplomats in two friendly countries – France and Denmark – have been summoned to receive diplomatic protests from the host government. This is unusual.

Denmark has called in the US charge d’affaires (as the ambassador has not yet been confirmed) after intelligence reports suggested there were covert efforts by the US in Greenland to stir up opposition to Danish rule.

And in Paris, the new US ambassador, Charles Kushner, was summoned after publicly criticising the Macron government for not doing more to curb anti-semitism – but sent one of his staff instead.

Trump’s approach to diplomatic relations dispenses with the usual niceties, the traditional courtesies, and cuts to the chase: who’s bigger than who? The suggestion is that if it is Trump, then he expects you to do what he wants. Where a foreign government continues to disagree with his policy, he seems willing to support efforts, as in Greenland, to change the government or publicly pressure them to change.

US president Theodore Roosevelt (1901-1909) advised his successors to speak softly and carry a big stick. Trump clearly prefers to speak loudly and use the stick liberally, especially on the country’s allies. This is a new US diplomatic game.

American diplomacy is in rapid decline……use India as an example…..

Recent US administrations (Bush, Obama, Trump) have often decided to send career foreign service officers to New Delhi—which is all to the good, after all, Pickering was a career foreign service officer. Such men and women often bring a deft touch in confronting nettlesome problems.

President Joe Biden’s (or the person who was actually making the decisions for Biden) choice for Ambassador to India was, for reasons that remain obscure, the nepo-mayor of Los Angeles, Eric Garcetti. The downward trend in quality seems set to continue. Last week, President Trump announced that a former errand boy for Sen. Rand Paul’s office (an office that seems to attract self-important types who think that plagiarizing Wikipedia is a substitute for speechwriting) who somehow parlayed that role into a publishing partnership with the Trump sons (the partnership produced the imaginatively titled Letters to Trump—available for a cool $100 at trumpstore.com) will be his nominee to head the diplomatic mission in New Delhi. Sergio Gor, a 38 year old native of Malta with zero diplomatic or foreign affairs experience (but, as it happens, ample experience as an amateur wedding DJ) will take the reins in New Delhi pending Senate confirmation (or, more likely, a recess appointment). It is said that for the last 7 months Gor has been the Director of the White House Presidential Personnel Office, but there is little evidence of his time there, as scores of political appointments remain unfilled.

From Galbraith, Moynihan and Pickering to Garcetti and Gor. The long decline of American statecraft continues.

This decline is troublesome because the world is a tinder box than ks to the last 5 presidents and without some sort of diplomatic mission this decline will accelerate to reach of no return.

It is sad because the US could be an agent for peace but that idea has been kicked to the curb by warmongering d/bags…..matters not the party both are as guilty as the other.

SCOTUS Crap Again

Those political hacks we called the Supreme Court has weakened voting rights yet again….was there ever any doubt?

These worthless lumps of crap did what they always do….and this time it was for Louisiana…..

The Supreme Court signaled Wednesday that it may further weaken the Voting Rights Act, as justices heard arguments in a Louisiana redistricting case that could reshape how race can be considered in drawing voting districts.

  • The case centers on whether states can use race at all when redrawing congressional maps to comply with Section 2 of the 1965 law, a key provision meant to protect minority voters from discrimination, NBC News reports. All six of the court’s conservative justices seemed open to limiting Section 2’s reach—potentially making it harder for civil rights groups to challenge maps they say dilute minority voting power.
  • The dispute began when Louisiana, which has six seats in the House and a population that is one-third Black, was required—following a lawsuit—to create a second majority-Black congressional district. The state now opposes the redrawn map, joining a group of “non-African-American” voters who argue that any consideration of race in redistricting violates the Constitution’s 14th and 15th amendments. The Trump administration backs this new position, arguing for a “colorblind” approach that the court embraced in last year’s decision ending race-based college admissions.
  • The court could adopt a narrower proposal backed by the Trump administration that would keep Section 2 but alter the standard set in the 1986 Thornburg v. Gingles case, which would give states more flexibility to draw maps for partisan reasons instead of racial ones.
  • Justice Brett Kavanaugh appeared receptive to this approach, saying recent rulings held that “race-based remedies are permissible, but they should not be indefinite,” the Washington Post reports. Liberal justices and civil rights advocates, however, argue that such a ruling would effectively gut Section 2, undermining protections for minority voters.
  • A ruling favoring Louisiana could reduce the number of districts drawn to give minority voters a fair shot at electing their preferred candidates, likely leading to fewer minority lawmakers in Congress and state legislatures.
The AP reports that the ruling, expected by June, could lead to voting maps across the South being redrawn to eliminate majority Black or Latino districts that tend to favor Democrats. NBC reports that conservatives have long targeted the Voting Rights Act; the top court weakened it in previous decisions in 2013 and 2021.

This will have lasting consequences across the South.

All this bigotry is no longer semi-covert…..it is an assault on minorities and anyone that votes against the strong arm of the GOP.

Next up probably will be a take on the old Citizen United ruling…..which could make bribery more easily acquired….

Fifteen years after the Citizens Unitedruling opened the gates for corporate money to flow into US elections, the Supreme Court will soon hear another pair of cases that journalist David Sirota says are aimed at “eliminating the last restrictions on campaign donations and obstructing law enforcement’s efforts to halt bribery.”

One of the cases, National Republican Senatorial Committee v. Federal Elections Commission (FEC), was launched in 2022 by then-Ohio Senate candidate JD Vance (R-Ohio), now the vice president of the United States, and several other Republicans, who argued that limits on coordinated spending violated the First Amendment.

This time, Republicans in all three branches of government have seemed to work in tandem to get the law overturned.

SCOTUS is a worthless, useless appendage of our government that we need to eliminate as soon as possible.
