Closing Thought–01Mar18

Closing thought today is early….I have two doctors to see today and they are terrible at being prompt…….hopefully I can get back to normal soon…thanx for bearing with me.

We all read about the future and the use of AI…..but could terrorists make use of this science to attack targets here in the “Free World”?

This report was in the Russian backed…….

Artificial intelligence (AI) is ripe for exploitation by criminal gangs and terrorists, a stark new report has claimed with experts calling for restrictions to be introduced immediately — before it is too late.

Governments could already be plotting to make use of brand new tech, including drones adapted into missiles, fake videos and auto-hacking tools, the Malicious Use of Artificial Intelligence report warns.

Within five years AI could “go rogue” and be utilized by criminals. Lifelike videos and speech impersonation could be used to target individuals, while drones could be launched to physically attack a person, the report says.

Oh great….not only will AI be used to replace us mere workers but now there is the possibility that terrorists will use it to attack the civilized world.

Time to step back and enjoy the first day of March……the weather here is sort of nice but if you do not like the weather down here just wait 10 minutes it will change.

Peace out….my friends…..chuq

  1. I’ve been saying this for decades now. AI…AI-N’T good for nothing other than:

    1) turning us all into helpless babies who can’t even pee without AI assistance. And that’s the “best case” scenario.
    2) un-employing the last of us whose jobs haven’t been automated. Hey, who needs an income?
    3) annihilating human civilization. Why keep these helpless, useless, babies with a long history of violence & destruction around?

And along the way, humans with…er…”less than positive motivations” (even just bored hackers living in mom’s basement who enjoy fucking with shit) will use it to rain chaos on a planet already overflowing with it. But NO amount of sense will stop every single fucktard out there from cheering it on and actively participating in our own collective demise. (See: Google Home Takeover)

The inherent danger with AI is that computers ALREADY think faster & better than us. Why the FUCK would we want them to think for themselves, integrate all our systems with them and hand over ANY amount of power to them??? It’s just BEGGING for something to go apocalypticly wrong. Because once it’s out there, it can take over before we even realize it. While saddled with an improbable-but-mandatory need for a happy ending, the low budget mini-series Delete nicely showed how fast, smooth & complete such a takeover can occur.

There’s probably only ONE chance to get AI right. The problem is that -because it will make them instant gajillionaires- every single motherfucker on the planet is working on it…as fast as they possibly can. (Oh, no quality-control issues there!) Statistically speaking, there’s probably a 100% chance somebody out there will get it very, very, wrong.

And even if the 0% chance ALL get it perfectly right every time, you can count on some motherfucker to get his paws in there and poison it.

      1. Sadly, 95% of people who did see Terminator haven’t learned a fucking thing. Their take-home was that the CGI was really cool and that they wants them some robotics. They all have the gizmos that are driving humanity into the dustbin of history…and want the next one too.

Maybe our species does need to be purged from the planet.
