US Troops Just Keep Dying

It is always a sad story when news of more US troops are killed….especially in a war that has never been voted on…..just last week 3 more American soldiers were killed in Jordan….why they were killed has not been released just yet….but it is odd because Jordan is a staunch ally of the US…..

Two American military trainers were killed and a third wounded in a shootout with security guards at a Jordanian military base south of the capital, reports the AP. No official explanation has emerged about what happened, but a Jordanian military source tells Reuters that the Americans failed to heed orders to stop at the base’s entrance gate. A source confirms that version of events to CBS News, which notes that Jordan is a strong US ally and attacks on Americans there are rare. A Jordanian military officer was reportedly wounded in the shootout. No identities have been released.

Since this report was issued the 3rd soldier that was wounded has died…..

In a statement, it identified the dead soldiers as Staff Sergeants Matthew C. Lewellen, 27, of Lawrence, Kansas; Kevin J. McEnroe, 30, of Tucson, Arizona; and James F. Moriarty, 27, of Kerrville, Texas.

IST offers our deepest sympathy for the families and pray that no more have to die for whatever reason they offer.

  1. If I werwe king of the world I would decree that a special committee be formed to make an in-depth study of why our troops are stationed in more than 130 crap holes all over the globe … often in harms way. I would investigate and re-evalutate the reasons for our troops being spread out so thinly like that and I would make whoever is responsible for sending our troops into the jaws of death explain in the minutest possible detail the justification for squandering our Military Might in such a manner and if there are consequences then I would make sure that whoever is responsible is held accountable and made to pay whatever consequences are called for. Enough with the cavalier attitude in Washington about who gets to live and who has to die for causes that are too often vague and ill defined. But I am not the f-ing king of the world now am I? So it isn’t gonna happen is it?

    1. I would settle for the Congress to at least weigh in on the deal….as it is they are doing what they normally do….NOTHING

  2. “to die for whatever reason they offer.”

For some reason, which will become evident, this post made me both mad and sad. I’m sad, of course, for the deaths of men performing duty they thought honorable, and for their families. But, I’m mad, too, because it’s all such a waste.

The families, and the soldiers, are patriots, but, only because they believe what the government has told them all their lives. They believe it is doing the right thing to join the armed forces, and do their part… and this is honorable, if naive. What they either refuse to see, or neglect to understand, is they are, by doing so, supporting their own slavery, and, in the process, aiding & abetting evil acts, against themselves, and ‘others’.This ignorance of the true nature of what the armed forces are engaged in keeps them from realizing their own actions keep them in thrall, to those among humanity who possess no virtue, at all.

I could rant a long time, but, fortunately, a very smart man already said much of what I would have relayed. The last line explains my sadness best, I think….

“One should respect public opinion insofar as is necessary to avoid starvation and keep out of prison, but anything that goes beyond this is voluntary submission to an unnecessary tyranny.” — Bertrand Russell

“Patriotism is the willingness to kill and be killed for trivial reasons.” — Bertrand Russell

“Three passions, simple but overwhelmingly strong, have governed my life: the longing for love, the search for knowledge, and unbearable pity for the suffering of mankind.” — Bertrand Russell, Autobiography

My pity, like Bert’s, is unbearable because mankind suffers at his own hand, from the simple failure to understand his own nature, more than any other way….
