Predicting More Terrorist Attacks

Seems we have a horrific terrorist attack every 3 or 4 months…..this gives the paid “experts” something to do with every attack…..the pundits analyze it from almost every possible angle…….sometimes to the point of absurdity.

People are getting rich off of the “expertise” they provide for the MSM…..the thing they do best is help spread the fear that feeds their industry.  Apparently if you get a website and Tweet about terrorism regularly then you may claim the mantle of “Expert”……

At least 41 people were killed in the recent bombing of Istanbul’s Ataturk Airport. The day before, suicide bombers killed five people in Qaa, a small village in Lebanon. And while the Saudi-led and U.S.-backed war in Yemen continues to rage, an ISIS affiliate claimed responsibility for attacks in the Yemeni port city of Mukalla that killed at least 12.

As of June 29, ISIS affiliates had claimed responsibility only for the Yemen attacks. But just a few hours after the Istanbul airport attack, Turkish authorities were already blaming ISIS. Since Ankara (unlike the U.S., where many officials blame ISIS for every act of violence) has been eager to blame every attack against Turkish targets on its Kurdish opponents — especially the Kurdish Workers Party, or PKK — the government’s early willingness to blame ISIS implies the likely existence of some convincing evidence.

Importantly, all three attacks took place following a significant defeat of ISIS on the ground.

And now Nice…….

I know this sounds a bit out there, right?

I have always wrote that a new approach to the threat of a terrorist attack needs to be found…..what that approach is…….very elusive.

Our only chance of an alternative to the stupidity of the system is to change the brains of the operation (insert raucous laughter)….very few people have any idea how to do that….voting is a worthless waste of energy…..for the song will stay the same…..

What The Military Thinks Of The Candidates

The convention circus has begun………

I know some think that I go on a bit at the lack of substance and quality of the two candidates that we have to choose from in this election…..but guess what?  I am not alone!

American military personnel favor Donald Trump for president over Hillary Clinton by more than a 2-to-1 margin in an exclusive survey conducted by Military Times ahead of the Republican and Democratic national conventions, but a strong majority of respondents say they are wholly unimpressed with both candidates.

More than 61 percent indicated they are “dissatisfied” or “very dissatisfied” with Trump as the Republican nominee, including 28 percent of those who intend to vote for him. More than 82 percent said the same about Clinton, the Democratic nominee, with 30 percent of those pledging to vote for her voicing displeasure with the choice.

I am so excited to witness this election (sarcasm)…..I cannot wait to see just how f*cked up this country can become……the sad part is with these two a/holes the military will have to do the heavy lifting while everyone else sits on their asses criticizing some one some where…

Greatest Show On Earth: Day One

I was going to let others deal with the GOP convention….but after the first day of all the hilarious happenings…I feel I must join the crowd…..

Like everything American there MUST be winners and losers……..and the GOP convention is no different…..

This year’s gathering in Cleveland promised to be the most unconventional GOP convention in decades, and Day 1 did not disappoint, although the Republican Party probably isn’t entirely thrilled about how things are shaping up. Here are some of the winners and losers analysts named after the day’s events.

Among the winners:

  • Donald Trump’s ego. His entrance Thursday night, complete with a smoke machine and “We Are the Champions,” was “epic,” writes Chris Cillizza at the Washington Post, who says he has always wanted politics to be more like pro wrestling.
  • Social conservatives. On Monday, the party adopted a platform that some are calling the most conservative ever, the AP reports. Christian conservatives praised it for being “the most pro-life platform ever,” and for opposing same-sex marriage and bathroom choice for transgender individuals. They also loved this line: “Children raised in a traditional two-parent household tend to be physically and emotionally healthier, less likely to use drugs and alcohol, engage in crime, or become pregnant outside of marriage.”
  • Rudy Giuliani. The former New York City mayor delivered what was deemed one of the more impressive Day 1 speeches, reports the Huffington Post, which was particularly impressed by the fact that he didn’t mention 9/11 once as he warned about America being in danger, though he did spend time talking about Benghazi.
  • Richard Nixon. Looks like Nixon is back in fashion: Trump’s allies “proudly portrayed him as the heir to Richard M. Nixon” and his “law and order” message, which appears to be Trump and the convention’s main inspiration, according to the New York Times.

Among the losers:

  • Melania Trump. She was widely praised after a speech that touched on Trump’s softer side, but her remarks were quickly overshadowed by accusations that she—or her speechwriters—had plagiarized Michelle Obama’s 2008 Democratic National Convention speech, the Hill reports.
  • The Never Trump movement. There were angry scenes Monday as Trump opponents tried and failed to “unbind” delegates, making it a certainty that Trump will become the GOP nominee.
  • Sen. Joni Ernst. The Iowan is a rising GOP star, Cillizza notes, but she wasn’t scheduled to speak until after 11pm Eastern, long after Melania Trump spoke and the Quicken Loans Arena emptied, “meaning that the number of eyeballs on her were WAY fewer than she and her allies would have liked.”
  • The Republican Party. The discord and scheduling woes were enough for Politico, among others, to deem Day 1 “disastrous.” Cleveland.com notes that the divisions were highlighted by the Trump campaign’s attacks Monday on Ohio Gov. John Kasich, who is skipping the convention.

Can day two get any better?  You bet your ass it can!

Tune in tomorrow for day two summary….

The Bully On The Block

As a junkie of all things international relations…I am constantly watching the press and the think tanks to keep my readers abreast of what is happening and why……

I do so enjoy the media acting as the propaganda arm of the government….apparently they are told what to do and told to run with the ball….keep the American people confused and stupid.

For months, probably years we the people have been told about the Russians and their buildup and thumbing their nose at the Western forces like NATO….

I have been saying for about that long that I felt like it was all a show to make Russia look more dangerous than they were….and now all my suspicion has been proven out…..

President Obama and NATO leaders signed on to the false narrative of a minding-its-own-business West getting sucker-punched by a bunch of Russian meanies, a storyline that suggests insanity or lies, reports Robert Parry.

It’s unnerving to realize that the NATO alliance – bristling with an unprecedented array of weapons including a vast nuclear arsenal – has lost its collective mind. Perhaps it’s more reassuring to think that NATO simply feels compelled to publicly embrace its deceptive “strategic communications” so gullible Western citizens will be kept believing its lies are truth.

But here were the leaders of major Western “democracies” lining up to endorse a Warsaw Summit Communiqué condemning “Russia’s aggressive actions” while knowing that these claims were unsupported by their own intelligence agencies.

Even the American Conservative has noted that the US made several mistaken in 1991 with the collapse of the USSR…..

Whenever the subject of American foreign-policy catastrophes comes up, the word “Iraq” immediately comes to mind. But George W. Bush’s ill-fated invasion of that hapless land in reality did not do irreparable damage to the United States. That is not to trivialize the costs, including trillions of dollars and the deaths of thousands of Americans plus hundreds of thousands of Iraqis, but the reality is that the U.S. homeland was not attacked and the economy has not collapsed, making Iraq a war that should never have been fought but not a defeat in historic terms.

One thinks of Russia less frequently when U.S. policy failures are examined. In 1991, Russia was a superpower. Today it is a convenience, a straw man fortuitously produced whenever someone in power wants to justify weapons expenditures or the initiation of new military interventions in faraway places. Much of the negative interaction between Washington and Moscow is driven by the consensus among policymakers, the Western media, and the inside-the-beltway crowd that Russia is again—or perhaps is still and always will be—the enemy du jour. But frequently forgotten or ignored is the fact that Moscow, even in its much-reduced state, continues to control the only military resource on the planet that can destroy the United States, suggesting caution should be in order when one goes about goading the bear.

Basically the government needs the media and the people needs an enemy….true that they have ISIS to hate but that cannot last forever and Russia is the perfect villain….for the American people still have left over animosities toward the nation and it is easy to feed the fear…..the government needs the American people to live in fear…..and the media supplies the indoctrination.

From Red Scares to Orange Alerts

The most recent violence in Dallas has started the whole debate about the modern American police state…..plus all the deaths of civilians at the hands of the police……I have written about the militarization of the police forces in the past…..but I do enjoy my historic perspectives….

I found an excellent paper written for the Foundation of Economic Education on the subject……

By focusing on counter-subversion rather than rolling back the state, Cold War conservatism consolidated the imperial military establishment and laid the foundations for a domestic garrison state.

Following World War II, there was no general demobilization in the United States — something that had never happened before in the nation’s history. In 1947, Congress passed the National Security Act, which created the CIA, the Defense Intelligence Agency, and created the framework for a permanent, globe-spanning military establishment under the aegis of what was now called the Department of Defense. Five years later, the National Security Agency, which originated as the US Army’s Cipher Bureau and Military Intelligence Branch in World War I, was given institutional permanence as well.

All I ask is that this article is read with an open mind……that may be an impossible task sometimes…but please try…..

Escalating Fear, Hatred, and Sexism

It is no secret that I am disgusted with my choices for the highest office in the land…..I cannot get behind the Dem ticket….no matter who she picks for her VP….does that make me a sexist?  Or maybe something worse?  No, it makes me a concerned American….as YOU should also be.

The GOP convention has begun…..now we get all the speeches and theatrics that one can devour…..Trump scares me….but his choice for VP is even scarier…..

“I long for the day that Roe v. Wade is sent to the ash heap of history when we move past the broken hearts and the broken lives of the past 38 years.” ~~ Mike Pence

If you have a choice of picking the most batshit obsessed RightWing Candidate in modern Political History…Mike Pence is your man!
His credentials? RightWing Nut Jobs will love him! Christian Fundamentalists will adore him!

Even if you are a Trump supporter, I know a good “shrink” if you need one, you should be concerned on the person in the number two spot….it is a real shame that a true conservative party has finally died and replaced with morons of little mental capabilities….
