Once a few years ago, I took a writing gig to research and write up the best resorts on Cyprus, from Textbroker, an online writing brokerage. It was cool to go to all the nicest hotels’ sites, look at their rooms, & see their beaches & amenities they offered. Interesting place, looked like it would be fun to explore….
It also looks pretty desolate in a lot of places….

I was on Cyprus back in the 80’s but I was there to find an arms dealer that was supplying bad guys in the ME…..it was a beautiful place but deep seeded resentments between to two parts of the island…
Very interesting. Hopefully they can show everyone else how it is done….no starving bears involved. To elaborate, i am so disgusted with war and the lack of policy to resolve conflict. Put these jackhole leaders, as naked as the day they were born, into a chilly room. Then they will be equal. If they can resolve the issues and swear with a drop of blood that war won’t happen on their watch, they get clothes and warmth. They are monitored to keep the oath. If they can’t, THEY fight to the death. The last one standing is eaten by a starving bear. This is all televised as a “this can happen to you too.” The only loser might be the bear. The End.

Thanx for the interest in this issue…the feelings run deep on Cyprus and at least this is a start we will have wait to see where it goes. I like your idea…..I have always thought that the leaders need to fight and leave the rest of us alone……chuq
I went to school in Cyprus We were there in 1953.
In 1953 a certain Colonel Grivas started a terrorist organisation, EOKA (National Organization of Cypriot Fighters), which mounted a guerrilla war against the British.
I still have the photos…we left rather hurriedly if my memory serves me well..
Grin….Same happened in Egypt…..
No, my father had nothing to do with anything military…..phew!

Mexico was lovely…way too much violence these days…..
