The Homeopathic Way Of Life

Last weekend I wrote about farmers markets may not be all that organic or any different from your local grocery……this weekend let’s look at Homeopathy.

Some of us feel that the earth will provide all we need as far as our health goes…….ande we believe that we can treat ourselves homeopathic way…………you know with white willow or sassafras or pine needles or ginko……on and on…..

But are we doing our bodies a favor or not?

I read a piece this past week that covers these questions and the practice…….

Homeopathy—the idea that one can heal oneself with illness-inducing substances in tiny quantities—is basically a bunch of quackery practiced by delusional people who take their own lives in their hands and might just as well take a sugar pill instead, according to Australia’s National Health and Medical Research Council. “There are no health conditions for which there is reliable evidence that homeopathy is effective,” declares the fairly blunt report, which also recommends that health insurers stop subsidizing homeopathic remedies and that pharmacies not stock them. “People who choose homeopathy may put their health at risk if they reject or delay treatments for which there is good evidence for safety and effectiveness.” The report reviewed hundreds of studies on homeopathy, notes CBS News, and found no evidence that it’s more effective than a placebo.

“I have no problems with private colleges wanting to run courses on crystal-ball gazing, iridology, and homeopathy, and if people are crazy enough to pay for it, it’s their decision,” one doctor tells the Guardian, but he thinks governments shouldn’t approve them. The Australian Homeopathic Association, not to be deterred, urged the NHMRC to find an approach that “respects and advocates patient choice.” It’s not the only blow to homeopathy of late: A Canadian study on homeopathic treatment for kids with ADHD came under heavy fire earlier this month from the scientific community for, as the Toronto Star puts it, “legitimiz(ing) a pseudoscience.”

What Of Ukraine?

For some reason this conflict is less important than the Oscars……people are dying, there is destruction and there is politics……the MSM is just NOT interested in this situation unless it is some horrible news that they can milk for days on end for its “news” content.  Who am I kidding?  We know why….Israel!

The cease fire seems to be holding….at least on the surface….but the back and forth between Us and EU and Russia continues but it is just not worthy of attention….but all that will change when the need arises.

I am guilty also….my interests have been laser focused on the Middle East and I have neglected this situation…….a loyal reader, I believe it was dru, brought to my attention that little is given as far as information on the conflict between Russia and Ukraine……his statement made me think that I needed to dig into the conflict and do some reporting from the “other” side……by that I mean NOT the propaganda crap that the MSM wants us to know…….Thanx my friend for the push!

My studies at university was that of the causes of war…..and the more that I look at Ukraine I see a conflict that could become a classic for future study.

Now in case you would like a little history of the country….I could go off on a lengthy diatribe but for the sake of my readers sanity….BBC has a good time line from 1917 to present…..it should answer any historical questions you may have…….

Awhile back I wrote a piece entitled…”Looking For The linchpin”……….http://lobotero.com/2013/06/13/looking-for-the-linchpin/ ……….I wrote that a future problem would brew in the Eastern Black Sea area….I was off by a couple hundred miles at most…….but where is Ukraine?

The West mostly NATO countries are poring support into Ukraine in their opposition to Russia…..the US has promised troops to help “train” the Ukrainian forces…….then why if they are that important are they not on the front page of your local newspaper?

Basically to answer the question….the American public has grown accustomed to conflicts in the news and so far they care nothing about Ukraine…..the media and the admin is pumping out as much propaganda as possible to turn the public into caring…..so far they are failing.

But now the government is pulling a page out of the Cold War playbook……the Domino Theory…….Bulgaria is in a panic and the US has sent troops for military exercises……..Lithuania is in a twist and the West is sending arms and stuff to help……Germany is trying to downplay any aggression that may come out of Russia.

All in all….it is a game being played and the weapon at this time is a non-lethal type……propaganda.

First it was a Russian journalist…..then a former KGB operative in London……now it was a Russian opposition leader in Moscow……there appears to be a movement to eliminate all opposition…..the most vocal that is…….as predictable the news of Russian opposition dying has kinda slipped from the headlines and we Americans have moved on to the mind numbing antics of Duck Dynasty…….

Of course, the world wants to believe that it is somehow a plan of Putin’s……if not him then who is killing the opposition?

A (Sen.) Cotton Picking Moron

Correction:  Recently in a post I referred to Cotton as a Representative….he is in fact a Senator from Arkansas…..I apologize for my mistake…..all else is pretty accurate!

I see that the junior twat from Arkansas has not learn to shut his idiotic mouth……this yahoo was the one that started the whole Iran Letter debacle……he decided that he would get his time in the spotlight by acting like a fool……and he succeeded.

It is bad enough that this tool with NO experience tried to undermine a treaty negotiation….but the 47 others knew what they were doing and signed the letter anyway….knowing that it was a bone headed move.

This person (I use the term very loosely) is from the party that is always throwing the Constitution around every time they need a political prop…..let me refresh this mental midget on the Constitution……

Article II, Section 2, Clause 2 of the United States Constitution, includes the Treaty Clause, which empowers the President of the United States to propose and chiefly negotiate agreements, which must be confirmed by the Senate, between the United States and other countries…….

But did he learn a lesson?  Oh Hell NO!

In his first speech to his esteemed gathering….Sen. Cotton once again showed that he has NO grasp of what he is doing…….his speech was about the military and it was a doozey….

“An alarm should be sounding in our ears,” Cotton said. “Our enemies, sensing weakness and hence opportunity, have become steadily more aggressive. Our allies, uncertain of our commitment and capability, have begun to conclude that they must look out for themselves, even where it is unhelpful to stability and order. Our military, suffering from years of neglect, has seen its relative strength decline to historic levels.”

Cotton was clear: America must have “such hegemonic strength that no sane adversary would ever imagine challenging the United States. ‘Good enough’ is not and will never be good enough.”  That strength, he said, should come at whatever the necessary costs. While the budget must be slashed, it should not be balanced on the backs of the military.

“Our enemies and allies alike must know that aggressors will pay an unspeakable price for challenging the United States,” Cotton said. “The best way to impose that price is global military dominance.”

Looks like he wants to be in line to take over from the other two yahoos in the Senate….McCain and Graham…..when they are no longer capable of leading……which some say is about now.

Defense contractors will be paying lots for this clown’s words and support……should keep him in campaign cash for awhile.

 

Clinton: Sucks Being Her

We Americans have been told that Hillary is the candidate to beat in 2016 for a year…..she has fed those speculations for the same amount of time….and now as the real campaign season approaches all the media’s hard work to make her the front runner may be for naught……

All those personal emails might be taking a toll on Hillary Clinton. A new poll of 2,128 adults shows Democrats’ support for Clinton as the Democratic nominee has fallen 15 points since mid-February. From March 10 to Tuesday, more than a third of Democrats said they believed the email controversy had injured Clinton politically, and about 45% said they’d support her, Reuters reports. Support among Democrats likely to vote in the party nominations fell to a little over 50%.

A separate poll for CNN, however, shows 57% of Americans would be happy with Clinton in the Oval Office. In that poll, 51% of respondents said Clinton’s email brouhaha was a problem, while 48% said it wasn’t a serious issue or a problem at all; 51% said she acted wrongly, while 47% said she didn’t. Half of respondents and 41% of Democrats agreed that Congress should make her testify on the issue. “If she would be more open about the situation, and show more leadership in saying what she did and why, I think it would be better,” one respondent tells Reuters.

I will be honest…I am not a supporter of Hillary for prez….it has nothing to do with gender…..I do NOT want Bubba anywhere near the White House again.  If people would be truthful then they would look at the Bubba years and see that things were NOT that great except for the wealthy….he did little …oh yeah he balanced the budget and that was on the backs of the poor……and his economic policies are what lead to the crash of 2008…..why would anyone want another Clinton in the White House?

Never fear!  She will most likely bounce back to reclaim her commanding lead in the polls….I mean look at her opponents on the Right……what is there to fear?

Hillary Clinton, soon to announce her candidacy for president, spoke last night before the American Camp Association in New Jersey. In an effort to try to connect with her audience, she said, “We really need to have camps for adults. … None of the serious stuff. None of the life challenge stuff. More fun. I think we have a huge ‘fun deficit’ in America.”

Watch your in-box for the e-mails of total crap…….you know they will come flooding in and FOX may cover it for days……

Today Is The Last Day

How many times has some religious d/bag predicted the end of the world?  And how many times has it ended?  I would expect Ancient Aliens should do a show on this…..I mean who knows?  We could be facing the end times today.  An alignment of three celestial things…..wait did not we have an alignment of three things back in 2012?  And the world would end….here we go again!

Surely Nostradamus or the Book of Revelation has something cryptically written….but since few are worried let me continue……

Three astronomical events are happening tomorrow, and depending on whom you talk to and how superstitious they are, it’s either going to be a day filled with good luck or a pretty terrible one. A rare solar eclipse/supermoon/vernal equinox combo will be taking place, with prime eclipse viewing spots in Europe, much of northern Africa, western Asia, and parts of the Mideast and Newfoundland, reports the Guardian—which notes that “some Christian ministers have viewed the rare collision of three celestial events as the beginning of the end of the world.” Some of the other legends and superstitions regarding the event:

  • Mythology from a variety of cultures promoted the idea that an eclipse meant dinnertime for malevolently ravenous creatures. In China, a dragon was believed to eat the sun, while Hindu legend has the sun eaten by the floating head of the demon Rahu, the Christian Science Monitor notes. Other sun-eating predators: Korea’s “fire dogs,” Vietnam’s space frogs, and the Vikings’ sky wolves, per National Geographic.
  • It’s also apparently time to beware of everyday dangers: A long-standing superstition is that pregnant women are especially at risk during an eclipse and that harm may come to their unborn children, the BBC has noted. In India, meanwhile, some folks fast because they believe food prepared during an eclipse is poisoned, per the Guardian.
  • There’s some good news amid all this terror: The spring equinox—which brings longer and longer days in the Northern Hemisphere—is typically looked at as a “time of beginning and renewal,” the Independent notes. And in Italy, the most vibrant flowers are said to be those planted during an eclipse, per the Guardian.

Do not panic!  Today will be just another day…..and more silliness about the end of days……go out enjoy life and make a friend…..

Yes the d/bag won his little election…..and he said somethings that will make the world reconsider their feelings about him….I said that once he conned the Israeli people that he would back track everything negative that he said and that he would use the American media to try and weasel out of his BS……..

With polls showing him in trouble on the eve of Israel’s election, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu disavowed his support for a two-state solution with Palestinians and immediately reversed his political fortunes. With his victory less than two days old, he has already backtracked, reports the Jerusalem Post. “I haven’t changed my policy,” he tells Andrea Mitchell of MSNBC in an interview that airs this evening, as quoted in the New York Times. “I don’t want a one-state solution. I want a sustainable, peaceful two-state solution, but for that, circumstances have to change.” Netanyahu says his comments before the election—in answer to a question, he said there would be no two-state solution under his watch—were more a reflection of how things had changed on the Palestinian side in recent years.

“I was talking about what is achievable and what is not achievable,” he said. “We have to have real negotiations with people who are committed to peace.” Critics had accused him of pandering to right-wing voters to avoid defeat. In the MSNBC interview, Netanyahu also denied that his last-minute video warning supporters that Arabs were voting “in droves” was an attempt to whip up anti-Palestinian sentiment, reports CNN. “I wasn’t trying to suppress the vote,” he said. “I was calling on our voters to come out.” The original two-state comment in particular had irritated the White House, which warned it was re-evaluating its relations with Israel.

Glad to see this demented toad is so predictable…..MSNBC should be ashamed of being used by Israel as their American PR firm…….I really thought it would be Morning Joe but Mitchell was just as feasible since she is a big Israel supporter, especially on air…..her credibility has dropped over the years…

The US will re-evaluate……seriously?  We all know where that will go….now don’t we?

The Tentacles Of ISIS Expands

Yep every American knows the evil that is ISIS……they know of the killings, the destruction, the bullshit……..and the toads that are trying to sign on to the success of ISIS……but recently one organization has said it will follow where ISIS leads….an organization so evil that it pales some of the violence of ISIS…….that group is in Nigeria and their name rings of evil….Boko Haram.

– the leader of the feared Nigerian terrorist group, Boko Haram, opened a new page in the history of the group when he announced his allegiance to Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the self-proclaimed ‘caliph’ and leader of the Islamic State (IS, also known as ISIS or ISIL).

Al-Baghdadi’s acceptance of Shekau’s bay’ah, or pledge of allegiance, has formalised the alliance between two of the world’s most ruthless terrorist organisations. Boko Haram joins a growing number of extremist groups in Egypt, Libya, Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia that have since the beginning of 2014 voluntarily given up their independence by proclaiming the supreme authority of ISIS. Shekau, however, is known for his uncompromising views, raising questions as to how he would respond to orders from al-Baghdadi.

The practice of giving bay’ah has become common among African terrorist groups and is often mistaken to be a sign of weakness or imminent demise. Many factors – including strategic, organisational, leadership and ideological reasons – may account for a group’s decision to pledge loyalty to another.

For ISIS, the alliance will facilitate its African expansion, especially in sub-Saharan Africa, and strengthen al-Baghdadi’s global legitimacy and influence. Boko Haram may also provide an important front for ISIS to attack countries taking part in Obama’s international coalition, set up to ‘degrade and destroy’ the terror group.

The alliance does not augur well for the ongoing regional campaign to contain Boko Haram, as the Islamist sect could get more sophisticated, posing serious operational and tactical challenges to the African Union (AU)-approved multinational joint task force (MNJTF).

Now the world needs to react to this announcement……this cannot bode well for African nations in turmoil….it gives a footing to ISIS……if it goes unchecked then massive destruction and death will follow…..
