I have been railing against this country and the treatment of its veterans……this ‘toon is one of the best to illustrate the hypocrisy that exists………

For over 6 months the US has been playing tag with ISIS and its allies…….and all the reports I see states that it will be a long, long war……I know “doom and gloom”….but what else could be be when there is NO recognizable plan for dealing for ISIS other bomb the crap out of them
There has been part of a plan……..
The Pentagon has issued a statement regarding it’s ongoing air war against ISIS today, reporting 2,320 airstrikes, and claiming the direct costs of the attacks so far were $1.83 billion.
Conspicuously absent in the war, however, is any meaningful territory gained in either Syria or Iraq, despite thousands of airstrikes. The Pentagon is rather trying to change the focus to just the stuff they blew up.
Really? Has anyone heard a bright optimistic assessment of this conflict?
How about a few of those “in the know”?
U.S. counterterrorism officials and experts, never known for their sunny dispositions, have entered a period of particular gloom.
In congressional testimony recently, Director of National Intelligence James R. Clapper Jr. went beyond the usual litany of threats to say that terrorism trend lines were worse “than at any other point in history.”
Maj. Gen. Michael Nagata, commander of U.S. Special Operations forces in the Middle East, told participants on a counterterrorism strategy call that he regarded the Islamic State as a greater menace than al-Qaeda ever was.
Speaking at a New York police terrorism conference, Michael Morell, former deputy director of the CIA, said he had come to doubt that he would live to see the end of al-Qaeda and its spawn. “This is long term,” he said. “My children’s generation and my grandchildren’s generation will still be fighting this fight.”
Yep all that gives me an extreme feeling of confidence (that is called SARCASM)….
Is anyone looking beyond Iraq and Syria?
Since the consensus by many military leaders predict a long trudge against extremism… if true….where will we be in 10 years? Who or what land will US troops be forced to deploy?
Libya is kicking becoming a failed state….even though we have successfully installed a CIA operative as the military leader….extremism is on the rise as well as ISIS affiliates. The atrocities have begun.
If not Libya how about Yemen? Yemen has always been a hot bed of AQ….and now ISIS is gaining a foothold. The recent coup by Houthis has set the country into a downward spiral…..the economy is in the crapper and violence is becoming a daily occurrence. Will US troops be asked to become the referee in this situation? If so, that will take troops and that will increase the chances of violence and death…..which in return will heat the situation up to a boil.
The one that few are talking about is Lebanon…….ISIS has made rumblings toward Lebanon…..the political situation is delicate and is always on the verge of collapse…..this will empower ISIS as soon as they decide that it would be in their favor to start work on Lebanon.
This one question needs answering and soon……How far are you willing to go, Mr. President?
There is so much that is going wrong with this country because of gutless politicians……..and this sez it all……..

Have you had enough of the BS surrounding the announcement by Ted Cruz yet?
Our man in Israel, BiBi, has won his little election……with some help from some pretty damning statements….like :never will be a two state solution” (paraphrase and his racist rant about Arab-Israeli voters….”Arabs are voting in droves”……all of which energized the far right and brought them out to vote…..and he won!
The US is not happy with him to say the least…….his words have shown why there has been NO substantial progress on peace negotiations…….I have been saying it is time for the US to step back and make Israel stand on their own….and maybe there is a chance this could occur……
A spat between Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu and President Obama, coupled with Netanyahu openly campaigning on his opposition to Palestinian statehood, seems to have changed that, and Obama has warned Netanyahu that the US is re-assessing its policies on Israel.
That could mean a lot of different things, but administration officials say it includes serious consideration of backing a UN Security Council resolution supporting, in principle, Palestinian statehood along the 1967 borders.
About damn time and at a time when Israel is struggling with the ICC and human rights abuse allegations………the UN is looking into the claims but in the past the US has acted as the lawyers for Israel and vetoed any action attempted against the country…..that could be closing in on an outdated issue……we can hope.
Israel as I have said is being called up for their attacks in Gaza…….and with the hope to head off an ICC investigation Israel has launched its own……
Israel’s military says it has opened several criminal investigations into incidents that took place during last year’s Gaza war against the Islamic militant group Hamas. In a statement late Thursday it says the Military Advocate General ordered six investigations, two of which were concluded with no wrongdoing found.
One case concerns the death of some 20 people who had taken shelter at a U.N. school in July.
The Gaza war left more than 2,100 Palestinians dead, mostly civilians, according to Palestinian and U.N. officials. On the Israeli side, 66 soldiers and six civilians were killed.
Would anyone trust the perpetrator to carry out an effective investigation into his actions?
This could be disastrous for BiBi if the US decides they have had enough of the antics of this liar and his games…….time for the US to do the right thing…….now Americans need to ask……Is BiBi lying now or was he lying in years past?
No matter which it is….he is a liar and cannot be trusted to act as a reliable partner in the Middle East.
I wish I could just move on from this Babbling Buffoon…..but he will not shut up so I can move on! Sen. Cotton may receive my “Crack’d Pot Award”……..
Sen. Cotton from Arkansas….that low level senator that has walked into DC with his mouth open and has not shut it yet. We all know about his “infamous” letter to Iran trying to crap on the nuke negotiations the admin is in the middle of…..and then he went off with his expansionism bullsh*t in his speech to the Senate…..and that is where most of the news was reported…..he was chest thumping like ALL GOP senators over the military…..but while he was making his first speech he said something that made me……. FREAK!
The Obama admin said that they would re=assess our policies with Israel for some of the statements that BiBi made trying to sway the elections……but Cotton;s reaction to this news was hilarious………
Cotton, the right-wing freshman in his second month in the Senate, called Psaki’s comments “worrisome“ – for a very specific reason.“While Prime Minister Netanyahu won a decisive victory, he still has just started assembling a governing majority coalition. These kinds of quotes from Israel’s most important ally could very well startle some of the smaller parties and their leaders with whom Prime Minister Netanyahu is currently in negotiations.“This raises the question, of course, if the administration intends to undermine Prime Minister Netanyahu’s efforts to assemble a coalition by suggesting a change to our longstanding policy of supporting Israel’s position with the United Nations.”
I am Disgusted with the media and their treatment of Israel and their war on Gaza last Summer…it was a war of genocide….care not what lies Israel tells to justify it…….
This is the face that should be paramount when covering this horrendous attack…….
The Dems have their one woman race (at least for now) and now the GOP has there single candidate……Good Ole Boy Ted Cruz (YAWN!)……yee–ha!
If it seems like it’s already gone on for years, we are currently 596 (five hundred ninety-six) days away from the election that will determine the next president of the United States of America. But we are only one day away from the first official hat getting tossed into the 2016 ring by one of the many who been circling it, and the Houston Chronicle reports that it belongs to Texas Sen. Ted Cruz. Unnamed senior advisers say the Republican will announce his candidacy tomorrow, skipping right past the exploratory committee fun (looking at you, Jim Webb) and going right for the hat-tossing. More unnamed sources confirm the pending announcement to the AP, which notes Cruz will likely be soon joined by the likes of Jeb Bush, Scott Walker, Rand Paul, and Marco Rubio. And if 2016 doesn’t work out for Cruz, he’ll keep his current day job until 2019.
Ted Cruz? Again……YAWN! He is a clown that will go nowhere…..but at least he is the first so the media will be all ga-ga for awhile until the next gutless wonder decides to stop playing games and announces……he must feed his hubris! Cruz feels he must be the center of attention and he can have that…..at least for a short time….all eyes will be laser focused on Ted.
Only a foolish person would consider this person as president…….an ego-centric d/bag that will ALWAYS put self before country…….not something needed at this time….or for that matter….EVER!
Let The Fun Begin!
I just get amazed at the logic that is used sometimes…….most of the stupid logic comes with a war……one we MUST fight……..
In case you missed it…..19 March 2003 was when we invaded Iraq to save it from itself……..

I waited a couple of days top see how many people would take the time to remember the 19th of March……as I figured it came and went and NO one cared! Instead they spent their time on some moronic e-mail scam or whether or not a new AG will get her vote……..
What the Hell am I going on about, right?
19 March 2003 US invaded Iraq for the second time in less than 15 years…….

As always I am looking to the stars for answers….(how’s that for philosophical?)……..and while reading stuff I came across two more articles about space stuff…..
Before I start…….Mars has moons with names…..Jupiter has moons with names…..Saturn the same……then why is the Earth’s moon named…..MOON?
First there is Mars….always a source of great speculation and wonder…….and in the last decade information about the planet is coming at an alarming pace…….
Imagine all the water in the Arctic Ocean. Now, imagine all that and more on Mars. If you visited the Red Planet roughly 4.3 billion years ago, that’s what you likely would have found, say NASA scientists. Their new study arrived at that “solid estimate … by determining how much water was lost to space,” says lead author Geronimo Villanueva. The Guardian reports the scientists used three powerful infrared telescopes to analyze two forms of water in Mars’ atmosphere: H2O and HDO, in which deuterium (aka “heavy” hydrogen) has taken the place of one hydrogen atom. As National Geographic explains, Mars’ gravity is weaker than our own; that allowed hydrogen to escape from the atmosphere and into space over time, boosting the amount of deuterium in its water. Scientists compared the ratio of HDO to H2O in Martian water today with that in water from a 4.5 billion-year-old Mars meteorite to arrive at their conclusions, a press release states.
They ultimately calculated that Mars was once home to 20 million cubic kilometers of ocean. It could have covered every inch of the planet in water 450 feet deep, but the scientists think a different scenario is more likely: that the ocean covered roughly a fifth of the planet, was located in the northern hemisphere, and was as much as a mile deep. While National Geographic observes the findings back up “reams of earlier evidence that water once existed on the surface” of Mars, another study author points out the assessment of the degree of water lost indicates something new. “The planet was very likely wet for a longer period of time than was previously thought, suggesting it might have been habitable for longer,” a scientist says. (Mysterious plumes on Mars are stumping scientists.)
Speaking of water in space….the common belief is that before we can find life we need to locate water…….but is there a chance there is water in our system?
Thanks to the Cassini spacecraft, we already knew that one of Saturn’s moons has a big ocean. Now things have gotten more interesting on Enceladus. It turns out that the ocean is not only warm, it seems to have the same kind of hydrothermal activity going on as oceans on Earth, reports NASA. Bottom line: “This may be the place to go look for life in the outer solar system,” says a Cornell scientist not involved with the new study in Nature. That would be microbial life, under conditions similar to those in a network of hot springs under the Atlantic Ocean known as the “Lost City,” reports AP. Some scientists think that ancient hydrothermal field yielded the first life on our planet.
Some extra-terrestrial sleuthing resulted in the Enceladus discovery: Knowing that a geyser shooting up from the moon’s south pole sends up dust particles that settle on Saturn’s outer ring, researchers analyzed the outer ring. They discovered that the dust particles were mostly silica, explains Popular Mechanics, and the makeup of that silica yielded details about the ocean in which they were formed. “We think that the temperature at least in some part of the ocean must be higher than 190 degrees Fahrenheit,” team member Sean Hsu tells NPR. “If you could swim a little bit further from the really hot part then it could be comfy.” The only way to “nail the habitability question” is to send up a new spacecraft to Enceladus with more modern instruments, says the Cornell researcher. He’s already working on the proposal. (Read about how Pluto might rejoin the planet club.)
And the discoveries just keep coming and coming….eventually we should have first hand knowledge…….those days are closer than we imagine…..I do believe.
