Google: Truth Or Consequences

I try to find stuff that would interest my readers….even any Right wingers that may show……with the hope that they will offer up an opinion to start a small debate if possible………

Okay this article is just way cool….but I guess it would be according to your own perception……

There will be some that do not like this….but for the life of me I cannot understand why.  My grandfather use to say….”the truth needs NO justification”.

I can foresee a problem with a corporation deciding what is true and what is not…….could profit motivate the truth ranking?

Please read this and weigh in..”.is it is or is it ain’t” a good idea?

Iran: My Baby Wrote Me A Letter

That was the first thing that popped into my head after the news of this moron and his moronic cronies send a letter to Iran…..the old Boxtops song…..(damn I feel old)

Between a letter written by a pack of mental midgets to the emails of Clinton….the Twitter machine is been on fire…….and of course the “usual suspects” have been having a field day with the letter especially the MSM….it seems we all have an opinion…….

Originally I asked what would the purpose of this letter be…..and now I think we will get the “rest of the story” (a Paul Harvey quote)……..

Immediately After Launching Effort to Scuttle Iran Deal, Senator Tom Cotton to Meet with Defense Contractors – The Intercept.

Okay that is enough about these morons and their letter…..moving on!

Venezuela: Did I Miss Something?

I realize that I spend too much time reading about politics and international relations…..,but with all the research it seems that I missed something….an issue that is more important than I once considered.

As the story goes the President of the United States has declared Venezuela a threat to the national security.  Huh?  I thought all that posturing died with Chavez.  Apparently I was mistaken.

The White House took a new step toward the theater of the absurd by “declaring a national emergency with respect to the unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security and foreign policy of the United States posed by the situation in Venezuela,” as President Barack Obama put it in a letter to House Speaker John Boehner.

It remains to be seen whether anyone in the White House press corps will have the courage to ask what in the world the nation’s chief executive could mean by that. Is Venezuela financing a coming terrorist attack on U.S. territory? Planning an invasion? Building a nuclear weapon?

To me those are valid questions.  Just what has the country of Venezuela done to become a threat?  I mean the US has been involved in many operations against Venezuela going back to 2002……so what is the excuse this time?

Washington was involved in the short-lived 2002 military coup in Venezuela; it “provided training, institution building and other support to individuals and organizations understood to be actively involved in the brief ouster” of President Hugo Chávez and his government, according to the U.S. State Department. The U.S. has not changed its policy toward Venezuela since then and has continued funding opposition groups in the country. So it is only natural that everyone familiar with this recent history, with the conflict between the U.S. and the region over the 2009 Honduran military coup and with the current sanctions will assume that Washington is involved in the ongoing efforts to topple what has been its No. 1 or 2 target for regime change for more than a decade.

If it truly is a “national threat” then why has there been little to no media coverage?

A better question to ask….who will benefit the most out of this situation?

I believe that the ineptitude of our current foreign policy precludes this from being a “real” threat….it is a game politicians play.

Iraq: Preserving The History

There have been reports that are truly disgusting and at the same time pathetic……ISIS is destroying archeological sites…..what kind of MORONs want to destroy their history?

Hopeful my readers have seen the reports of ISIS in Northern Iraq destroying historical sites…..ISIS has set about destroying some ancient Assyrian sites…..

ISIS militants have trashed museum pieces in Mosul with sledgehammers, bulldozed the ancient Assyrian city of Nimrud, and yesterday destroyed the Hatra ruins in Iraq, reports the BBC. But while the New York Times catalogs everything that antiquities ministers and workers are doing to stave off the annihilation of some of the world’s oldest artifacts in Iraq and Syria, Iraq’s tourism ministry is pointing the finger at the rest of the world for just watching it happen. “The delay in international support for Iraq has encouraged terrorists to commit another crime of stealing and demolishing the remains of the city of Hatra,” a statement read, per the BBC. “A fool criminal can come with one hit of a hammer and destroy all our efforts, and we can do nothing,” Qais Hussein Rashid, deputy minister for tourism and antiquities, tells the Times. “It’s a great grief.”

Why this destructive mission? To ISIS, ancient art represents idolatry and must be destroyed, the Times notes. But militants have also pilfered many of the artifacts to raise money, experts tracking the thefts tell the Times. Rashid and Minister Adel Shirshab have been lobbying for the US to redirect airstrikes to target militants heading toward other historic sites, the Times notes. And officials took another step yesterday toward designating the ancient Babylon ruins as a Unesco World Heritage Site to offer it more protection. A Babylon “preservation” plan is also in the works, which would include a brick-by-brick rendering of the site so if it were ever destroyed, it could be rebuilt. “This is Iraq’s history,” a visitor at the National Museum of Iraq’s reopening yesterday tells the Times. “You can say it’s the world’s history.”

I think it is great that there is so much concern over the preservation of these sites and antiquities…..but then where was the concern back in 2003 when the protecting of the oil ministry was far more important than protecting the antiquities in the Baghdad Museum?

Now there is a call for  air power to be used to help save the historic sites…….

Iraq urged a U.S.-led military coalition on Sunday to use air power to protect the country’s antiquities from Islamic State fighters looting and destroying some of the world’s greatest archaeological treasures.

Iraqi Tourism and Antiquities Minister Adel Shirshab said only the U.S.-led coalition could put an end to the pillaging.

“Our airspace is not in our hands. It’s in their hands,” he told reporters. “I am calling on the international community and coalition to activate its air strikes and target terrorism wherever it exists.”

Shirshab and the head of Iraq’s state body for antiquities and heritage said Iraqi authorities were still trying to assess the full extent of the damage in Hatra and Nineveh.

“We have confirmation that they bulldozed sites at Nimrud and Hatra. What we don’t have is information about the size of the area which has been razed,” said Qais Rasheed, head of the antiquities board.

I think it is great that someone cares enough to consider the protection of these sites…..but how serious would the US and its coalition partners be about such protection?  It is touching that they seemingly care about these sites…..and yet a bit pathetic.

It is a shame that the Cradle of Civilization is now the Cradle of Barbarism.

This is how the American system of government will die – Vox

Since 1994 this government has been dying slowly…..all the theater and lies and innuendos, wasted time and most of all….the disgust for the will of the power…..it has not gotten better but worse……

The only ones that can bring this disrespect and turmoil are the American people…..the problem is that they do not care about the country…..solely their petty little desires……and because of that extreme hate this country is dying slowly…….and some will be proud…..but for me…it is disgusting that the people care so little about their country even while thumping their chests…………
