2014 Babbling Buffoons Of Babylon #2

My second edition of BBB for 2014……they just do not know when to shut the Hell up…..someone has to point out their moronic words….and that is……….. WHY I AM HERE!

1–My first one is because I am a Native American….my family is Jicarilla Apache…..so anytime an asshole sez something offensive about Native Americans….I take offense…I take it personally…..this one is from some screaming douche bag from Michigan…….

In an interview with the New Yorker, Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson said this: “I made a prediction a long time ago, and it’s come to pass. I said, ‘What we’re gonna do is turn Detroit into an Indian reservation, where we herd all the Indians into the city, build a fence around it, and then throw in the blankets and the corn.'” He also called stopping for gas in the city an invitation to car-jacking, reports Raw Story, and he said that “anytime I talk about Detroit, it will not be positive. Therefore, I’m called a Detroit basher. The truth hurts, you know? Tough s—.'” Patterson, who apparently has a long history of controversial statements, is now crying foul about the interviewer having an “agenda,” as civil rights leaders, the mayor, and other lawmakers in Detroit call for an apology, reports the Detroit Free Press.

I have a low toleration for racists…..and this PIG is a racist!

2–More from the idiots that want to cite some form of “Biblical Authority” …….damn these religious types get stupider by the year……

Perhaps looking to strengthen his issue portfolio as he runs to be governor of Massachusetts, anti-gay activist Scott Lively has posted a list on his website of the “top seven reasons I am pro-life.” Although the first few are standard fare (e.g. “abortion is just another name for murder”), Lively strays off the pro-life movement’s messaging when he goes into the reasons why a woman’s right to choose undermines men’s “biblical authority.”

“Legalized abortion robs fathers of their fundamental rights as parents, and their Biblical authority as heads of their households,” Lively contends. In the case of rape, he adds, “a child must never be required to pay for the sins of his father.” But among all this, he concludes, it is women who are “degraded” by the right to choose.

3–There seems to be a wealth of the “religious” that just cannot say anything but something moronic or anal…….like this televangelist…..

Bill Keller, a right-wing televangelist who frequently goes on rants against Mormonismandhomosexuality, told a caller on his “Live Prayer” show to commit suicide.

Keller, who has worked with conservative activists including Janet Porter and Rick Wiles, told the viewer that he should think about suicide and that “it might help the world.”

And people listen to this moron…this douche bag…..he is NO religious person in my humble opinion…..

4–It use to be Glen Beck that had an anal statement a month….well usually more but I was a bit kind to him….why?  I feel sorry for morons.  But now he is replaced by the Motor City Moron as the biggest loser with a big mouth…..all he knows how to do is lie and rant…he NO longer has any musical ability….so why not?  Who is this masked man?  One Ted “the dip shit” Nugent!

The president is a “sub-human mongrel”

That from a pedophile……a musical hack……and a MORON!

5–Leave it to FOX News to come up the biggest pieces of bullshit…..their newest is…….

Fox News found a different point of concern. Brian Kilmeade, co-host of Fox and Friends, honed in on the connection between pot and food stamps, otherwise known as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP.

“Can people collecting food stamps in Colorado add marijuana to their shopping list?” Kilmeade asked. “Right now, the answer is yes. Because there’s nothing blocking using government benefit cards in pot shop ATMs.”

Total crap…….Federal and Colorado law says that food stamps must be used for food (hat tip here to Media Matters). The U.S. Department of Agriculture says “SNAP benefits can never be withdrawn as cash.”  Sorry, but that eliminates an ATM…..hopefully these twats know how an ATM works….maybe not….it does take a modicum of intelligence to work one.

6–Not all the stupid is uttered by the American brand of morons….it is universal…..this one from a French member of parliament…

A French MP was fined 3,000 euros on Thursday for a racist outburst in which he said “maybe Hitler hadn’t killed enough gypsies” during the Second World War.

I realize that Europeans as a whole are not real thrilled with the Roma, aka gypsies…..but that racist remark was just uncalled for……Roma communities refer to the Holocaust as the “Porajmos”, and while the figures are uncertain – many of those killed were murdered indiscriminately – between 220,000 and 1.5 million were killed by death squads and in concentration camps between 1939 and 1945.

7–Ever hear of CNN’s Nancy Grace….my fondest memory of her was watching her have a meltdown when that woman who was accused of killing her child walked…..I thought she was gonna have a stroke on air….anyway she is an idiot!  This is what she had to say about pot legalization……

“The reason I’m against legalization of pot is that I’ve seen too many felonies, and I don’t mean pot sales or growing pot,” she said. “I mean people on pot that shoot each other, that stab each other, strangle each other, drive under the influence, kill families — wipe out a whole family.”

My guess this loud mouth person has never smoked pot or known anyone that has….her BS is wrong!  People who smoke pot want three things….some wine….some munchies….and to get laid.  Period!  Grace is a moron that needs to shut up…..she is a self-righteous toad……period!

8–I remember my radical days…….I protested and even considered the possibility of a revolution…..the problem is that the government put me into the COINTLPRO program and I was dogged everywhere I went…..I tell you this because of something I read recently……

Speaking to a Tea Party group late last year, retired Army general and Fox News pundit Paul Vallely insisted that he doesn’t want to see a revolution take place…but if a revolution does happen then he will be happy to lead it.

Vallely reminisced about how he once discussed plans to “surround the White House and surround the Capitol building” with 250,000 marines, adding that “it’s going to take physical presence” to make elected officials heed their demands.

“I’m not inciting a revolution but we’ve got to get more physical and stand up and protest,” Vallely insisted. “I don’t want to be criticized for starting a revolution, but I’d certainly head it if we had to. We all love a good fight if it’s worth it, right?”

Why is it that people just say this guy is a batshit crazy and I was was spied upon constantly….what makes this guy immune from scrutiny?  He is a revolutionist,, so was I…..but because he has a high paying gig he is above reproach….funny how that works, eh?

9–Nowadys there seems to be a ground swell of support and opposition to the gay marriage wave that is sweeping the country…….and seems one dude has an idea on how to stop the gay marriages from occurring…..

A Republican lawmaker in Oklahoma has hit upon what he considers a “realistic” way to ban gay marriage in the state while staying on the right side of the US Constitution: Banning all marriage. Rep. Mike Turner has filed a bill that would end state recognition of any marriage and says he has the support of other conservatives. Asked by News 9 whether it would be “realistic for the State of Oklahoma to say, ‘We’re not going to do marriage period,'” Turner responded, “That would definitely be a realistic opportunity, and it’s something that would be part of the discussion.”

My only question for this pinhead…..what about the sanctity of marriage that all you types like to sloganize (Is that a word)?

So ends edition #2…….and not the end….there will be more anal statements and more bozos allowed to talk……

Rock legend and gun-rights activist Ted Nugent has launched a brand-new, blistering attack on Barack Obama and politicians of both major parties, flaying the president as a “subhuman mongrel” who is “the enemy of the U.S. military” and who should be jailed for “treasonous acts.”

“I have obviously failed to galvanize and prod, if not shame enough Americans to be ever vigilant not to let a Chicago communist raised communist educated communist nurtured subhuman mongrel like the ACORN community organizer gangster Barack Hussein Obama to weasel his way into the top office of authority in the United States of America,”

Immigration–GOP Style

This little issue has been hanging around of the fringes of political debate for decades….and in those days there have been many ideas on how to handle the influx of ‘illegal’ aliens into the country……I recall a few…..first there was the virtual fance armed with cameras, senors, all kinds of electronic stuff…the problem when finished it did not work and millions were flushed down the toilet…again.  Then there were some creative ones like a moat filled with alligators or a huge electrified fence or the 30 foot fence topped with broken glass and razor wire…and during all this time the same question kept popping up….what is the GOP gonna do about immigration?

And that question was answered yesterday….the GOP has a plan…….

House Republican leaders issued a set of principles today on immigration reform, and the consensus seems to be that they offer enough wiggle room to get a deal done this year. Some highlights:

  • Legal status: Many of the 11 million undocumented immigrants now in the country would be able to attain legal status, though not citizenship.
  • No ‘special path’: They would attain that legal status not through a “special path”—Republicans say that would be unfair to those who have followed the rules—but only after they “admit their culpability, pass rigorous background checks, pay significant fines and back taxes, develop proficiency in English and American civics, and be able to support themselves and their families (without access to public benefits).”
  • Citizenship for ‘dreamers’: Kids brought here illegally by their parents—often referred to collectively as the “dreamers”—would get a path to citizenship.
  • Border security: None of the above takes place until enforcement is beefed up.

There you have the ‘plan’….but wait!  Their original plan is still a priority…..border security……….NOTHING on how to achieve it.  So there is really nothing new…….

Now that they have a ‘plan’….how is it viewed?

  • Washington Post: It’s a big deal because this is “first the first time that (House GOP leaders) would be open to allowing the nation’s 11 million undocumented immigrants to live and work legally in the United States.”
  • The Hill: “The endorsement of a path to legal status for many of the nation’s estimated 11 million illegal immigrants is a significant step toward comprehensive immigration reform for a party that has long resisted policies that some deride as amnesty.”
  • Politico: It sees the move as a “modest change” for the GOP leaders themselves, but “for a Republican Party that advocated ‘self-deportation’ as recently as 2012, it’s a massive shift.”
  • New York Times: “The Republican proposal seeks to walk a fine line: offering legal status—but not citizenship, and not through a special path—to undocumented immigrants who meet certain conditions.”
  • President Obama: “I actually think we have a good chance of getting immigration reform,” President Obama told CNN.
  • Chuck Schumer: “While these standards are certainly not everything we would agree with, they leave a real possibility that Democrats and Republicans … can in some way come together and pass immigration reform.”
  • John Boehner: In releasing the plan, he sought to emphasize what the GOP won’t do. “These standards are as far as we are willing to go. Nancy Pelosi said yesterday that for her caucus, it is a special path to citizenship or nothing. If Democrats insist on that, then we are not going to get anywhere this year.”
  • The AP has the GOP principles in text form here.

I suggest that you read the full text of the proposal before you make your decision…….after that….I want to hear from my readers on this issue…..

Is The Ceiling Falling?

Why don’t we talk economics and politics in the same breath?

What’s that sound?  Is that everyone’s butt slamming shut?

I know economics is about as exciting as watching paint dry…..but unfortunately it is everywhere…there is NO way to avoid it.

Next month there will be a huge deal in the media about the debt ceiling…..the questions will be asked if the GOP will play the usual game?  Will the economy be held hostage to ideology?  That will be the common thread in the media and we know what that means…….politico after politico will dash out to the nearest camera and have their say…a say that will have been scripted during the meetings being held the last week of January.

Will an act of sabotage be perpetrated?  Economic sabotage that is……..

But who will be the point people?  My guess is that Cruz and Paul will be the most vocal in the beginning…..and then a bunch from the House will chime in….people like Lee, Stockman and some of those retiring soon……the rhetoric will be that it is the prez that is at fault….of course it will…he is ALWAYS at fault……there will be a concerted effort along these lines as to put the idea into the heads of the people that it is somehow the Dems fault for the failure……and as I look at the building storm…it could be effective….remember there is an election this year and any help that can be gleamed out of the debt ceiling debate will be lagnappe…..(something extra for those that do not speak Cajun)……..

All in all, the debt ceiling will be messy and chaotic……can hardly wait!

How the Arab Spring Left the Palestinians Behind | Informed Comment

A couple of years ago the Arab Spring was all over the media…..and there have been many situations that have arisen from those protests and revolts….Syria, Egypt, Libya, Tunisia to mention only a few….but the one region that has been left behind during these situations….the Palestinians

Bomb The Bastards!

One more and then I will let you guys have the rest of the day off……

Hawks have been screaming this for a decade or more…..first it was Iran and their pursuit of nukes and more recently it has been Syria mainly because of the use of CWs on the population…….and most of this rallying around the bomb came from the Right wing….you know the fools like McCain, Graham, et al……but thank God cooler heads prevailed and diplomacy was used in getting Iran to come to the negotiation table and Syria to turn over their stores of CWs…….

But the “Bomb The Bastards” attitude has hung on even with some limited success in diplomacy…..but it is NEVER too far from the conversation…..NEVER!  But there are a couple of reports coming from people and organizations that you would least expect……

Sec. Kerry in a recent interview with an Arabic news channel said when asked about the Iranian deal…..

Like most US diplomats, Secretary of State John Kerry is surely familiar with the formula of angrily condemning Iran and threatening war for perceived or future slights. One might even call it second nature.

But even with Kerry trying to talk up the merits of a nuclear deal with Iran in an al-Arabiya interview, he couldn’t get through the whole thing without threatening “the military option” against Iran.

Kerry said the US military is poised to attack Iran at any moment if they try to continue enrichment of uranium beyond permitted levels, a threat which would’ve made a lot more sense if the IAEA hadn’t already confirmed days ago that Iran has halted that enrichment and is complying with the deal.

Kerry went on to demand Iran stop all support for Hezbollah, saying they were prepared to “engage with Iran on other issues,” but that attacking Iran will always remain a possibility.  (thanx to antiwar.com)

This from our head of diplomacy…..what was he thinking…..this could scuttle the talks and the deal….maybe that is his intention….after all he gets money from the Israeli PACs….

Iran is not the only threat out there….this one from the WaPo….you know that bastion of liberal reporting (at least that is the line the whack-a-dooles want to pass on)…….

An editorial in yesterday’s Washington Post urges President Obama to use the threat of a U.S. bombing campaign to achieve political ends on a transition deal in the Syria talks.

Obama “could force” a diplomatic agreement for a transition government in Syria “by presenting Mr. Assad with the choice of accepting them or enduring U.S. airstrikes.” With what must be Martian logic, the Post argues that Obama’s refusal to use the threat of violence is why atrocities continue to be committed in Syria.

The United Nations Charter, to which the United States is a high contracting party, prohibits “all members” from “the threat or use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of any state.” The 1969 Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties, to which the U.S. is also a signatory, establishes the principle that if a country threatens to use force during diplomatic negotiations, then all resulting treaties are invalid. “A treaty is void if its conclusion has been procured by the threat or use of force in violation of the principles of international law embodied in the Charter of the United Nations,” it states.

Back in August, the New York Times was even more blatant in its advocacy of criminal government when it published an Op-Ed titled, “Bomb Syria, Even If It Is Illegal.”

Just consider for a moment how corrupted the political dialogue in this country has to be for mainstream voices to openly and proudly call for their own government to commit war crimes.

This scares me!  Just when you thought that US was thinking with a calmer head….we get these douche bags fanning the flames of military intervention……

Is Peace For Israel Possible?

Do not know if anyone actually notices but I try to have a theme for the day…..sometimes it is willy nilly but my mind works on a problem, one at a time, I have tried to avoid responding to every utterance that I feel is moronic and not very well thought out……but I succumb from time to time……..

And now on to the question……..Is peace for Israel possible?

Not if the morons keep saying crap that infuriates Palestinians……I have said in the past that a peace, at this time in history, not possible…..and you want to know why……easy peasey….water, religion and morons!

Let me start with the water issue.  It wrote awhile back that most of the aquifers in the region are located on the West Bank….Israel needs that water and will whatever possible to keep possession of it……but that is becoming a moot point…at least for now…..

The report finds that deep water drillings by Mekorot and the Israeli agri-industrial firm Mehadrin in the occupied Jordan Valley have caused the drying up of Palestinian wells and springs. About 80 percent of all water drilled in this area is consumed by Israel and its illegal settlements in the West Bank.

Mekorot took over responsibility for the West Bank’s water resources from the Israeli military in 1982. The new report documents a clear pattern of discrimination against Palestinians. Whereas Palestinians living in most of the West Bank face “chronic shortages,” Israeli settlements enjoy a constant supply of water. Palestinians are prevented from using wastewater provided to Israeli settlements for irrigation and instead have to rely on more expensive water for that purpose. Furthermore, valves supplying Palestinians tend to be cut off when water shortages occur, yet no such restrictions are applied to the use of water by Israeli settlers.

This will be a point of contention for years…..or until the idiots run the aquifer dry…….

Then there is the problem of religion…….two religions hold the Temple Mount sacred……but if one Israeli gets his wish that could become a major point of contention…….

Israel Minister of Housing and Construction Uri Ariel issued a statement on Friday indicating that he is in favour of constructing what he calls the “Third Temple” in place of Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem.

In a statement reported by the Alray Palestinian Media Agency , Ariel claimed that: “The first Temple was destroyed in 586 BCE, the second Temple in 70 CE, and ever since the Jews have been mourning its loss.” He added that: “Al-Aqsa Mosque is currently in place of the temple, despite the temple being much holier than it. Al-Aqsa Mosque is only the third most holy mosque in Islam.”

Ariel then asserted that: “Now that Israel has once again become a Jewish sovereign state, there have been occasional calls to rebuild the Temple.”

This screaming douche bag could do more harm to any peace process than any amount of rockets fired…..someone needs to shut this ‘person’ up……his silence will go far to show that peace is a priority….so far does not appear as such to the rest of the world…….

Now we turn to the last category….the MORONS!

I wish I could say that all the morons are on the Jewish side but I will not disingenuous….it seems Palestinians have their big mouths as well……

Fathi Hamad, Hamas’s Interior Minister, claimed in a speech honoring the anniversary of Operation Cast Lead that “Palestine” would replace the Jewish State by 2022.

“We’ll destroy the enemy,” Hamad assured his audience, noting that achieving that goal would take “eight years.” Hamad also claimed that the Palestinians are at the stage of readiness

Yeah, that will win a ton of brownie points for peace…..think propaganda 2.0

And then this is one of my fave quotes on the Palestinian question…….

“For one moment,” he said, “consider how the Israeli economy would look if, God forbid, a Palestinian state arises. Every day, ‘only’ one missile falls on Shenkar Street in [high-tech industrial area] Herzliya Pituach. Ask yourselves how the Israeli economy would look if ‘only’ one plane a year is downed when preparing to land in Ben-Gurion Airport. It would shatter the Israeli economy.”

That from Israel’s Minister of Economy and Trade……he is selling fear…we know how that works….right?

Beyond that I think that it would be more accurate to say that a Palestinian state and peace would see a diminish in the cash flowing in for defensive hardware….and let’s not forget that state would rob Israel of a cheap labor force……he is a moron!

The war of words will continue….it does not serve the pursuit of peace….it does however feed the beast of discontent……

So, is peace for Israel possible?  Answer the question with a question…….Are the parties involved really committed to peace?

Not now….not as long as there is a wealth of morons allowed to speak on both sides….the only outcome for peace is if both sides are ‘made’ to make peace….and there is a problem….how do you ‘make’ them want peace?

Without a viable peace the is NO hope for a stable Middle East in our lifetime……PERIOD!

Syria In The News

While everyone is still reeling from the State of the Union and its detractors……I will go in a different direction…..I will write about real news and leave the crap to the amateurs…..

Now on to important stuff…….

I have heard many pros and cons on climate change…..and if you bring it up the whole blogoshere explodes in finger pointing, recriminations, insults and damn right ugliness….but I read tht there is one more thing that we can blame on the issue of climate change…….SYRIA!

Say what?

(Newser) – Before the uprising against Bashar al-Assad, Syria was stuck in a four-year drought the UN reportedly called the country’s worst in decades. In 2008, a US embassy cable revealed by WikiLeaks predicted potential mass migration due to the weather—and the cable was right. “By 2010, roughly 1 million Syrian farmers, herders, and their families were forced off the land into already overpopulated and underserved cities,” writes Thomas Friedman in the New York Times. They received little help from Assad’s government, which, according to a UN rep, said economic and social issues following the drought were “beyond our capacity as a country to deal with.”

Many of those refugees became “willing recruits” for the movement against Assad, Friedman explains. Indeed, “today, you can’t understand the Arab awakenings—or their solutions—without considering climate, environment, and population stresses,” Friedman notes. The drought ended in 2010, but with the country torn by civil war, a future drought could be even more disastrous. And Syria can’t expect help from other countries facing disasters of Superstorm Sandy proportions. Friedman’s warning to Saudi Arabia and Iran, who, he notes, are “funding the proxy war”: “You’re fighting for control of a potential human/ecological disaster zone.” It’s not the first time climate change has been blamed in Syria; click for Friedman’s full column.

Then there is Israel……..

There has been a lot of back and forth with this situation……and now the world is started boycotting Israel and its goods…..

The international pressure on Israel to cease settlement-building and reach an agreement with the Palestinians is beginning to directly affect its economic prospects as European investment funds start to rethink their connections to the Jewish state.

PGGM, the second-largest pension fund in Holland, recently said it would divest its holdings in Israeli banks, citing concerns over their work in the settlements.

According to a report in the Financial Times this week, the largest Dutch pension fund, ABP, and two Scandinavian investment firms, are now considering similar steps and have asked the Israeli banks for clarifications

Business leaders at the Breaking the Impasse forum in Davos said in a statement: “We know that if Israel wants a stable economy, a good future and continued growth, we must reach an agreement. The world is beginning to lose its patience and the threat of sanctions is becoming more imminent.”

I question how serious are those about the boycott……..can economic pressure be the catalyst for a lasting peace?  Again….just how far will they go?  Or is this just another in a long line of con jobs?

Israel gets involved in the Syrian civil war……..

Explosions rocked the Syrian port of Latakia late Saturday night, and by Sunday morning local media was confirming that the target had been advanced Russian-made S-300 anti-aircraft missiles.

Israel is widely believed to have attacked Latakia in October of last year to take out advanced anti-aircraft batteries installed shortly prior to that, so the Jewish state was naturally the prime suspect in Saturday night’s air strike.

Not the first time and most likely not the last…….

My small news round-up for the Middle East……stay tuned…I will return……
