Now Is NOT The Time For Domestic Policy

I watch a lot of political stuff and usually try to watch “Meet The Press” to get caught up on the dialogs I may have missed over the week….of course, we all know the problem in Japan a quake, a tsunami and a nuclear disaster waiting to happen…..everyone seems to be trying to analyze the nuclear situation (personally, I do not think the Japanese are being totally honest on the situation)…..but here they are gonna start re-evaluating the nuclear program because of the disaster in waiting….

I hear the GOP’s point man in the Senate, Mitch McConnell, talking on the Japanese problem and what the consequences could be for the US and then he said something that I found very telling on the GOP stance on energy and environmental issues….he said…..”after an environmental crisis is not the time to make domestic policy”  (A paraphrase)

OK, if not now, when?

The GOP wants to wait for calmer days when NO one gives a crap and it can be addressed without much attention….where any restrictions of nuclear construction can be blocked at every turn….without much media attention…..think I am mistaken?

Look at deep water oil drilling…..after the massive oil spill that damn near destroyed the US Gulf Coast…..we are back to issuing permits to do it again….funny how that worked out!  The old saying, “outta sight, outta mind”…is one that the GOP lives by and will do whatever it takes to keep it that way…..

So, sports fans….I ask again…..If Not Now, Then When?

For a little injection of humor into the post….you need to hear from Glenn Beck……

  1. I love Glenn Beck!!! His logic is beyond the realm of my imagination.

So the nuclear problem in Japan was made up by the “left” in the US? wow!!! if i was a republican i would be shaking in my boots knowing that the “left” can cause biblical catastrophes, two at a time, and kill thousands of people, just to shed bad light on nuclear power.

How the f*ck can you find a liberal conspiracy in a dual earthquake/tsunami disaster?????

Beck doesnt practice freedom of speech, he practices freedom from speech.

    1. He is quickly becoming my fav moron too…..I bet the Left wish that they were that influential….and if they were we would not be having this conversation….

  2. The nuclear crisis in Japan is very upsetting and I sympathize with their plight. But the GOP has a valid point for delaying any domestic policy on nuclear energy. It is not the right time to try and pass the building of more power plants. There are too many people scared and worried that this will also happen to a U.S. plant. It is guaranteed to fail right now in congress. It would be the same as proposing to build another set of world trade towers after September 11th. The debate is too emotional and time is needed for people to cool down in order to make a wise and rational decision that will ensure what is best for our country.
Stereo typing all GOP members as being a ‘Glenn Beck’ is certainly not accurate. I do not agree with him and he is much to radical and illogical to listen to. And there is certainly not a liberal conspiracy in the Japan disaster. Soro is using his money and influence to push his personal agenda.
So to answer your question, the GOP will resume domestic policy making when the Japan crisis is over and fixed. But rest assured, there will be many more security and safety concerns involved than before.
