Better Later Than Never

Yes, I will be talking about the doings in Wisconsin….and yes…again!

There is a report on a poll out today about the governor of Wisconsin, Scott Walker…….

Wisconsin voters already have buyers remorse about electing Gov. Scott Walker (R).

In a PPP poll released Monday, a majority of registered Wisconsin voters say that in a hypothetical re-do of last year’s gubernatorial election, they would vote for Democrat Tom Barrett, whom Walker defeated in November. That finding comes as Walker continues to stand firm on his budget proposals that would strip most state public employees of long-held collective bargaining rights.

Fifty-two percent of respondents said they would vote for Barrett if the election were held today, while 45% said they would vote for Walker. That’s almost exactly the opposite of what happened in the election, when Walker won the governorship with 52% of the vote to Barrett’s 47%.

The huge shift comes, not surprisingly, from union members. In releasing the findings, Tom Jensen at PPP wrote:

All I have to say about this is…..see what happens when you are lazy and depend on morons on the tube to tell you where to vote?  Maybe, just maybe  you people should exercise your most important muscle….no not the abs or the pecs or the penis……but rather the BRAIN!  If you would have used it more maybe you would not have the massive problem you have now…..if you pay attention to what you are voting for then sneaks and thieves cannot easily influence you……

Wait For It—-It’s Coming

No I am not talking about some blue eyed, blond dude from the Middle East…..I will be giving my observations on the whole situation in Wisconsin and its after math…..

By now everyone that has an interest in this country should be aware of the situation in Wisconsin, as well as other states that are industrialized (though not much industry remains)……workers rights are involved, whether you are a member of a union or not, it will impact on your working life, somewhere do the road….

I see the possibility of four scenarios that could play out in the US and effect all of us in the long run….

Scenario #1–If Wisconsin’s governor (who looks like a weasel)  is successful in his attack on the unions and collective bargaining, then it will steam roll through the rust belt through states that have GOP govs and legislatures…yes, some of the other states have backed off their stances on this, but it is a prudent political decision, not that think it is a bad idea…they will see that unions have been weaken and they will go for the jugular….

Scenario #2–Let us say that all challenges to the unions  bills are successful….then the American worker will see wages start in a downward spiral and with that the Middle Class will get smaller and smaller and eventually there will be two classes in our society…you will be either rich or in poverty….

Scenario #3–With the unions gone…the GOP will be in the drivers seat almost everywhere….we will have a one party control of the government…..with union support we have remained basically a two party system….without union support the Dem Party will become a minor party kinda like the Green Party in the US….all decisions will be made in favor of corporations and their interests….e poor will suffer immensely…..

Scenario #4–If all the predictions come into being then I see a return of the situation we had a century ago……there will be a new labor movement…and this time it will be organized around industries and not trades…..it could be as bloody and violent as the original, a hundred years ago …….

OK, hear that?  What is that chomping and snapping sound?  That is your loss of rights snapping at your butt….Americans need to recover their huevos or grow a pair and take on these self-serving highly manipulated and paid for fools that we have put our trust in for so many decades….they are liars and cheats and thieves…and yet we allow them to continue preying on the middle class and we reward them with even more chances to continue……one day we will wake up and find that most of America is in the poor house, with NO one caring…….

To be honest (yes, I am capable of that) as an aging radical, deep in my soul I yearn for the days of protests and radicalism…the good old days of the 60’s and 70’s….you know…those years when the American people actually had principles and ideals….we did not hide behind the rantings of morons, we took to the streets and the lot…….a return to my days of working on a plan that was larger than myself….so much larger…the days, right or wrong, when it felt good to be an American politico….those days are gone and I want them back!

What Is He Thinking?

It is the weekend and as usual I found a story in the media that I just feel like I must comment on……and this one comes from the Reuters, which by the way have some amazingly odd stories……we at Info ink enjoy finding those stories that make us ask…WTF?

The more, the merrier is certainly true for Ziona Chana, a 66-year-old man in India’s remote northeast who has 39 wives, 94 children and 33 grandchildren — and wouldn’t mind having more.They all live in a four storied building with 100 rooms in a mountainous village in Mizoram state, sharing borders with Myanmar and Bangladesh, media reports said.

What is he thinking?  Or is he high on opium?

May I see a show of hands…..how many have been or are married?

Now knowing what you know about marriage, would you want another one or for that matter 38 more?

It is virtually impossible to make a wife happy all the time….and now this dude wants to try and make 39 happy….what is he thinking?  This guy has got to be a masochist!  Why else would he want to subject himself to this type of torture?  And to beat all…they all live in the same house…..39 women (wives)…… Oh My God!  This guy is just plain crazy!

A Thing Whose Time Has Come?

Yep that is right….breast milk ice cream!  It seems that someone has taken to the idea……

From an article on Reuters:

A specialist ice cream parlor plans to serve up breast milk ice cream and says people should think of it as an organic, free-range treat.The breast milk concoction, called the “Baby Gaga,” will be available from Friday at the Icecreamists restaurant in London’s Covent Garden.

Icecreamists founder Matt O’Connor was confident his take on the “miracle of motherhood” and priced at a hefty 14 pounds ($23) a serving will go down a treat with the paying public.

The breast milk was provided by mothers who answered an advertisement on online mothers’ forum Mumsnet.

EEWWWWWWW!  OK, I like breasts a lot….but this idea is not to my liking and will they hook these women up to a milking machine….maybe breast milk is tasty, I do not know, but should that not be for the baby to decide?

IMO, this is a stunt and not a good idea….Like I said I do enjoy a nice pair of breasts and I will be the firsat one to point out just how nice they are….but I do not think that the substance produced by them is for public consumption……

Stick To Your Guns And Screw Up Everything!

The GOP majority in the House of Representatives is sticking to their guns…they are demanding big spending cuts or they will shut down the government….I normally like politicians that stick to their guns whether I agree with them or not ….but there are times in the life of a country that sticking to one’s guns could be more disastrous than compromise and the whole row over spending cuts could be one of those times when the country, especially a weak economy, may NOT benefit from stubbornly standing on owns beliefs….

This may well be one of those times…..a report issued by Goldman-Sachs (who is NOT one of Obama’s biggest supporters) that show something different than the picture painted by the GOP over spending cuts…..the GOP is pushing this myth that if we cut spending we will grow the economy……the HuffPost is reporting on the Goldman report:

A Goldman Sachs economist has warned that the $60 billion package of spending cuts proposed by the Republicans to counter President Obama’s proposal could slow economic growth.Goldman’s warning follows Treasury secretary Timothy Geithner’s recent claims that the Republican plan would cost jobs.

In the confidential report, obtained by ABC News, among other news outlets, Goldman Sachs economic forecaster Alec Phillips said the GOP plan could slow economic growth by up to 2 percent. Even a compromise deal, with $25 billion in cuts could slow growth by 1 percent.

In its latest spending plan, the White House predicted GDP growth of 2.7 percent this year.

And then there is the idea of a governmental shutdown and the Goldman report had this to say about it:

…….if budget wrangling between the Obama administration and the Republican-dominated House of Representatives led to a shutdown? That, according to Goldman, could cost $8 billion a week, the Financial Times reported.

It appears that the debate on spending cuts has NOTHING to do with growing this economy and definitely does NOT having anything to do with the promise of jobs…then why are we having this debate?  Is it the typical political game?  Where is this debate good for the economy and the country?

Nothing the GOP is doing is good for the working majority or what is best for the country…instead we get theater and not very good theater, at that…….by sticking to their guns they may be dooming the economy with the possibility of a double dip recession….something for thought!

It’s Abortion Time Again

It is that time of the year again….when all politicians turn to the issue of abortion…..the Congress is trying to put it into all bills that come before them, GOP is trying to crush Planned Parenthood, as they did ACORN and are attacking unions, all this is an assault on any organization that would help the Dems politically….the GOP is trying desperately to destroy the base of the Democratic Party……

Enough of my diatribe on the political climate in the Country and Washington…..

As anyone knows who reads Info Ink, I do not normally write on emotional issues with the exception of some craziness…..abortion is one of those issues….personally, I am pro-life….but that is not my decision to make, whether to have an abortion or not…….this is a privacy issues to me and as such NO one has the right to stick their nose in anyone’s business…..to those mental midgets that want the government out of their business…that applies to this issue also….the government should be  all in or all out…….

With that said…it is onward to my point….

In Kansas there is a trial of an Attorney General of the state for the misuse of his office in a targeted attack on the people that went to a clinic of an assassinated abortion doctor, Tiller……it seems that this official used lies to obtained medical records and hotel registries and even had patients and family followed and put under observation…all because his is a pro-lifer…he is using his office for the pursuit of a personal agenda and NOT the business of the state……..his hearing is to determine if he did anything wrong and the possibility of a dis-bar-ment, if found guilty……

WAIT!  Being dis barred will be his greatest punishment?  He infringed on people’s right to privacy and their civil rights and he may be dis-barred?  Is it just me or is that just damn ludicrous?  What about the rights of the people…you know those damn silly things that the Constitution guarantees its citizens?

Here comes my big finish!  These people do NOT want a woman to have a choice in a pregnancy and when they get their way…they will be the same people that bitch about all those women on welfare that are having babies to game the system…..but yet they do not want these women to have a choice….

Will someone explain to these people just how flippin’ MORONIC they are!  I apologize….moronic is a strong word……instead I will use……. STUPID!

I Was Wro….Wro…Wro…..Mistaken

A Correction to a blog post:

My post was on 21 Feb 2011 and entitled ” Civil Disobedience Comes Home”….

I try to be fair….yes, I have an opinion and I let it be known (surprise)…….but I will admit it when I am wro….wro….MISTAKEN!

The situation in Wisconsin lead me to report on an article I had seen that the Governor created the budget deficit that he now uses to try and kill all union activity in the state…..well, I know how hard it is to believe but I was mistaken and the good people at Politifact have brought it to my attention…..I will correct my error……..

There is, indeed, a projected deficit that required attention, and Walker and GOP lawmakers did not create it.

More on that second point in a bit.

The confusion, it appears, stems from a section in Lang’s memo that — read on its own — does project a $121 million surplus in the state’s general fund as of June 30, 2011.

But the remainder of the routine memo — consider it the fine print — outlines $258 million in unpaid bills or expected shortfalls in programs such as Medicaid services for the needy ($174 million alone), the public defender’s office and corrections. Additionally, the state owes Minnesota $58.7 million under a discontinued tax reciprocity deal.

The result, by our math and Lang’s, is the $137 million shortfall.

It would be closer to the $340 million figure if the figure included the $200 million owed to the state’s patient compensation fund, a debt courts have declared resulted from an illegal raid on the fund under former Gov. Jim Doyle.

So, I apologize for my mis-reporting on the deficit for the state of Wisconsin……but (there is always a but)…..I stand by my assertions about the motives of Gov. Walker…..that he is only pursuing the tact set forth by the GOP in the 40’s….attack on the unions with the intent of breaking them and making them ineffectual….both economically and politically…..

I regret that I did NOT pay enough attention to all the facts….hopefully I have learned my lesson and it will not happen again….but after all I am only human (a point that some will debate)……

The GOP’s Man Crush

By now we ALL have heard about the doings in states like Wisconsin, Indiana, Ohio, to mention a few……if not then there is a rush by GOP governors to attack public employees and their unions….it seems to these types all the budget problems and shortfalls are ALL the fault of public employees and the unions……It seems that the GOP is still trying to negate ALL progress of workers that started back in the 1940’s………..conservs make it sound as if the public employees have somehow stolen their benefits….utter and total BS!

I am still waiting for these governors to focus on one of their major points that helped them win a large percentage of the vote….that point is…the creation of jobs…..somehow lower corporate taxes will create jobs….it has NOT in my state, which has some of the lowest in the country, and have been promised great prosperity will come with lower taxes….not so in the last 50 years…..nowhere have these elected officials created a job and their points they are pushing like furloughs, dismissals, etc….will create NO jobs  but will create a rise in unemployment….keep in mind you mental midgets voted for these people….are you pleased with your choices?

Anyway back to the man crush thing…….The darling of ALL conservs, Gov. Cristie of New Jersey today on MSNBC (which has a major man crush on this guy)…..Christie talked about the stuff he is doing in New Jersey he said that….”the unions were destroying thew Middle Class and that by pursuing them he was going to strengthen the Middle Class….(this is a paraphrase)……and of course Morning Joe was so9 pleased to hear that the public employees would be attacked that he could barely contain himself (after all he is a conserv and as such sees the evils behind unions)…….but after hearing his little mindless diatribe I have to ask……..

Just how are unions destroying the middle class, governor?  How would weakening or eliminating unions strengthen the middle class?

Since thanx to the work of unions, the middle class prospered and gave working people the opportunity to advance their standing in society…Thanx to the work of unions Americans were given the chance to live the American dream…Just how would Christie and his comrades strengthen the middle class?

These GOP governors are pursuing an agenda that they kept from the voter during the campaign….this is NOT unusual….but you would think that the American voter would be smarter by now……(pause here for raucous laughter)…….

GOP Response To Libya

I keep watching the tube and all conservs are so upset that Obama has NOT made a comment on the turmoil in Libya……no matter what news channel they are employed with….they want to know why Libya does not deserve a comment and some have gone to the point of saying that he is somehow afraid to comment or that he is shrieking his duties by remaining silent……

One of the biggest hot air balloons is Palin….she has said….

Former Republican Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin took to her Facebook page Tuesday night to criticize the Obama administration’s response to the ongoing turmoil in Libya.She noted the White House released statements about the earthquake in New Zealand, “but nothing on the slaughter in Libya?”

The former Republican vice presidential nominee said “now is the time to speak out.”

“For four decades this tyrant has held power. Gaddafi was Osama (bin Laden) before Osama hit the scene,” Palin wrote. “Gaddafi is a brutal killer and Libya – not to mention the world – would be better off if he were out of power.”

Like I have said….she is not alone…FOX is full of accusations, Joe on MSNBC and a whole host of others have been bitching…..and echoing what Palin is babbling on about……

OK my turn…..are you bozos smoking crack?  There are about 25,000 foreigners in Libya and the lion share are American oil workers and UK citizens….if Obama tries to get too involved those people’s lives could be in greater danger than they are now……do these uninformed toads realize that Libya is in the middle of a revolution and is NOT the same as Egypt…it is an ARMED revolution….the safety of Americans SHOULD be paramount….not some lousy statement that buffoons want Obama to make…..

So basically, these nimrods care NOTHING about the safety of Americans…they jsut want to push Obama for some lame and moronic political purpose…..may I say…YOU people are disgusting and do NOT deserve any respect from any American!

Oh Sarah! Could We Be So Wrong?

Okay, I am NO fan of the media darling, Sarah Palin….I have written about her and her lack of knowledge….about her use of slogans instead of facts…..about her ego-centric personality….all in all I am NO fan!  I have read her two books and found them to be…….a yawn…..(and I paused to find the right word so not to be crude)…….but now all the predictions and accusations seem to be close to reality…..

It seems that an adviser to Palin has written a tell all book about the half governor because he thought we needed to know…… (more like he wants lots of bucks for the read)…..

A copy of a tell-all book by Frank Bailey, “Blind Allegiance to Sarah Palin: A Memoir of Our Tumultuous Years,” has been leaked to members of the media. In the book, Palin’s former chief of staff gives an unflattering view inside the former governor’s rise to fame.

In the foreword of his 456-page manuscript, originally titled “Renegade: Sarah Palin’s Hatchet Man,” Bailey says Palin e-mailed him, “I hate this damn job” days before she quit in July 2009. The book goes on to describe Palin’s staff targeting political opponents for personal retribution, through a variety of public channels.

“We set our sights and went after opponents in coordinated attacks, utilizing what we called ‘Fox News surrogates’, friendly blogs, ghost-written op eds, media opinion polls (that we often rigged), letters to editors, and carefully edited speeches,” Bailey wrote. “Nobody needed to be told what to do; we understood Sarah’s silent mandate to do something now.”

I guess I feel pretty good….from her introduction to the nation as the running mate of McCain….I have said that she is a hollow shell whose only concern was the fame and the cash….so far NOTHING said or done has changed my mind…..I await this book’s publish date….I need a good bit of humor since politics offers nothing but aggravation….

A side note from political wire:

The company that produced Sarah Palin’s Alaska, the TLC show starring the former vice presidential nominee, is set to receive $1.2 million in state subsidies, according to the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner.

The funding has led to criticism that then-Gov. Palin may have approved of tax credits for programs filmed in Alaska as a way of boosting her profile in the future. The subsidies under the law run until 2013.

And there is a story flying around that Palin had Lasik for her eyes and only wears glasses to appear smarter than she really is…..that I can buy……
