ISIS Recruitment: Uncle Jihadi Wants You!

First I would like to rant just a bit……I cannot believe the lack of attention the American people are showing for the possibility of American troops returning to fight in Iraq (for the 3rd time)…..they are showing more concern for the future of a game……the NFL to be more specific…….they are concerned about its reputation over domestic abuse……..they are showing classic signs of denial over the armed conflict thing….ignore it maybe it will go away……..this, to me, is truly sad….sorry to me a person’s life is worth more than some game that the world would not miss if it disappeared.  It is just sad and a bit pathetic.

We have heard all the recruitment stories for ISIS….especially those from the UK, who may be doing all the beheading for the organization……everyone keeps saying that they have a cracker jack recruitment program…….mostly thanx to social media…….crazies are flocking to Syria and Iraq to join and be part of something big…….they have their disgusting tentacles in all aspects of society looking for their new breed of killers……but there is one group that surprised me at least somewhat……

America may now be at war with ISIS, but a handful of Americans are joining up with the Islamic extremist group—and not all of them are men. US law enforcement is looking into a recent spate of women allegedly seeking to join the jihad, Reuters reports. In the past six weeks, three families in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area have reported missing female family members they suspect may be enlisting, one local Muslim community leader says. On Aug. 25, another 19-year-old from the area ran away from home, hopped a flight to Turkey, and joined ISIS in Syria.

“The nature of the recruitment of these crazy organizations is how they use the element of surprise. Now they have surprised us again by going for the girls,” the community leader says. The Twin Cities are a hotbed for such recruiting because they boast America’s largest Somalian population, but the problem isn’t entirely localized: In July, a 19-year-old Colorado woman was arrested for allegedly trying to join up.

In other ISIS news:  (For those that have been more concerned with the fate of the NFL to care about war)…….

  • State Department officials tell the New York Times that several Arab countries have agreed to help with the US airstrike campaign against ISIS—though some will only be providing supplies rather than running strikes of their own.
  • Iraqi officials say that France has agreed to carry out airstrikes of its own, and Australia has announced that it will be as well. Australia will also be sending 200 troops to Iraq to serve as military advisers.
  • Meanwhile, ISIS has been enjoying a PR boon of sorts among extremists online thanks to its string of grisly beheading videos, the Guardian reports. “The wannabe foreign fighters are excited by these killings,” the director of the International Center for the Study of Radicalization explains. “People in Tunisia and Libya are particularly interested in the prospect of fighting American and now British enemies. This is turning on people who were radicalized before this conflict started but weren’t particularly excited by the Sunni-Shia battle.”

Women?  This could be their undoing if not handled properly……

A Woman With Cajones

In these times when it seems like governments are doing everything they can to keep women “in their place”…….but……..

There are brave women who reach out and take the world by the wanker and demand their place in a democratic society……and then there are women that go above and beyond for the sake of their place in society……..my first thought is for that Pakistani young woman who was attacked and damn near killed by the Taleban because she wanted an education and now she is an international spokesperson for women’s rights…….she was snubbed for the Nobel Peace Prize which was an oversight by the committee….if anyone deserved it it was this young lady…..

And then I read a story about an Afghan woman that has assumed her place as a chief of police in the country that beat women and forced them to marry, stoned them and all around did everything they could to keep women “in their place”………

Kabul’s District 1 has a new police chief—and the Taliban has a new target. Col. Jamila Bayaz has become the first Afghan policewoman to run an entire district, and she says she is ready to face the challenge despite the threat from militants, the AP reports. “I work day and night,” says the 50-year-old, a mother of five who joined the police force more than 30 years ago. “I am ready to serve, I am not scared nor am I afraid.” Afghan policewoman are often targeted by the Taliban, whose brutal 5-year rule forced Bayaz to stay home instead of doing her job. “I was a housewife taking care of my family,” she says. “Women are part of society and since they left, more and more are getting involved and they need to join the police.” She hopes her high-profile job will encourage more women to join the police force, which now has 1,551 policewomen out of 53,400 personnel, up from just 180 in 2005.

This woman is aware of what the Taleban thinks of women and she will do her duty….the sad part is that some random drunken of a mayor will get more press than this lady…truly sad what Americans find as ‘news’……….

Now this is a women with cajones!  She knows that there will be attempts on her life and that her life expectancy is short….but she saw what she thinks is her duty and went for it……my hat goes off to her and I wish her lots of luck and long life…….

Can You Be Too Atractive?

Recently I did a post and made fun of the Saudis because the “religious police” arrested a couple of men for being too handsome…their reasoning was that their looks would entice women too easily……I said then and stand by my statement that it is an absurdity that their is a crime of being too handsome……..

But wait!  what is the old saying?  “Whatever you can do, we can do it better”……….Iowa has proven this statement……Think Progress has brought this to light…..

Standing by a December decision, the Iowa Supreme Court ruled Friday that a male dentist who fired a female assistant because she was too attractive and threatened his marriage did not commit sex discrimination.

The all-male court ruled against Melissa Nelson, who sued her former employer James Knight, alleging Knight’s wife told Knight to fire Nelson because “she was a big threat to our marriage.” Knight fired Nelson in January 2010 after more than 10 years working for him, later testifying that she was not fired for performance reasons.

The Court wrote:

“It is abundantly clear that a woman does not lose the protection of our laws prohibiting sex discrimination just because her employer becomes sexually attracted to her, and the employer’s attraction then becomes the reason for terminating the woman once it, in some way, becomes a problem for the employer. If a woman is terminated based on stereotypes related to the characteristics of her gender, including attributes of attractiveness, the termination would amount to sex discrimination because the reason for termination would be motivated by the particular gender attribute at issue.”

March and once again we celebrate women and their accomplishments…….I try to find people that little is known about and try to enlighten  the blogsphere in some small way…….this is about Phillis Wheatley……a woman of many talents and little recognized except in history circles……..my small attempt to make her accomplishments known……..

DATE OF BIRTH:  c. 1753-5

PLACE OF BIRTH:  Gambia, Africa

DATE OF DEATH:  December, 1784

PLACE OF DEATH:  Boston, Massachusetts as a result of childbirth

FAMILY BACKGROUND:  Phillis Wheatley was a slave child of seven or eight and sold to John and Susanna Wheatley in Boston on July 11, 1761.  Her first name was apparently derived from the ship that carried her to America, The Phillis.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS: During her life, while it was not common for American women to be published, it was especially uncommon for children of slaves to be educated at all.  Her gift of writing poetry was encouraged by her owners and their daughter, Mary;  they taught Phillis to read and write, with her first poem being published at the age of twelve, “On Messrs. Hussey and Coffin.” The countess of Huntingdon, Selina Hastings, was a friend of the Wheatley’s who greatly encouraged and financed the publication of her book of poetry, Poems.  Obour Tanner, a former slave who made the journey through the middle passage with Phillis also was one of the chief influences and supporters of Phillis’ craft.

She was especially fond of writing in the elegiac poetry style, perhaps mirroring the genre of oration taught to her through the women in her African American tribal group.  Her elegy on a popular evangelical Methodist minister, George Whitefield, brought her instant success upon his death.  She also was well versed in Latin which allowed her to write in the epyllion (short epic) style with the publication of “Niobe in Distress.”

Phillis’ popularity as a poet both in the United States and England ultimately brought her freedom from slavery on October 18, 1773.   She even appeared before General Washington in March, 1776 for her poetry and  was a strong supporter of independence during the Revolutionary War.  She felt slavery to be the issue which separated whites from true heroism: whites can not “hope to find/Deivine acceptance with th’ Almighty mind” when “they disgrace/And hold in bondage Afric’s blameless race.”

Phyllis is remembered for many first time accomplishments from a woman of her day: 

  • First African American to publish a book
  • An accomplished African American woman of letters
  • First African American woman to earn a living from her writing
  • First woman writer encouraged and financed by a group of women (Mrs. Wheatley, Mary Wheatly, and Selina Hastings.)

She is a woman who deserves her accolades……she is a woman not normally mentioned in any celebrations dealing with the accomplishments of women…..hopefully, I have changed that in some small way…….

Should Women Be In Combat?

The US has moved into the 21st century and made it official that women can be in active combat units…..they have been in a non-official capacity for years……but no they are legal, so to speak.  We can look at other countries in this world where women are actively engaged in combat and do perfectly fine…..Israel comes to mind…….IMO, women are qualified to do anything that we macho dudes can do…with the exception of shaking it after we pee……

I have heard all the complete bonehead rants about why they, women, should be excluded from combat……here are a couple of the more stupid of the comments…….

  • Women are too weak. Boykin believes soldiers still need certain “levels of sheer physical strength, speed, and endurance that are relatively rare among women.” But wait, if they’re “relatively rare” doesn’t mean that they, you know, exist?
  • Soldiers need to pee in front of each other! Boykin warns that combat missions often offer no access to base facilities. “Living conditions can be abysmal and base. … Soldiers and Marines have to relieve themselves within sight of others.” Apparently women aren’t just weak, they’re squeamish.
  • It would humiliate men. Even if some few women can cut it, Boykin has argued, “I certainly don’t want to be in that environment with a female, because it’s degrading and humiliating to do your personal hygiene and other normal functions” in front of them. So it’s not just the women who are squeamish.
  • Women are too sexy. Soldiers won’t be able to focus, Boykin argues, “in an environment that combines life-threatening danger with underlying sexual tensions.” Given that one VA survey found that 49% of women serving in the Middle East had been sexually harassed, apparently things are already pretty sexually tense.
  • Women might quit. Boykin worries that women will have “very little protection” from being put on the front lines, which would force them to “reconsider their place in the armed services. … That would be tragic.” Saletan’s response: “You can almost feel the general’s tears of sorrow. Women who have voluntarily joined the armed forces—that would be 100% of them—might run away, tragically, if their unofficial exposure to mortal risk, unshowered men, and outdoor urination becomes official.”

Only an idiot would object to women being in combat………if they are capable and willing then they should be embraced…..after all there are many, many Americans who refuse to go into combat for whatever lame reason they may have…..I salute women and wish them well……

How did you pick your mate?  Was she gorgeous?  Was she a size one or maybe a blond?  Probably not for her IQ, right?

There is a study…..there is ALWAYS a stupid……on this very subject……

In an article soon to be published in Evolution and Human Behavior, University of Texas–Austin graduate student Cari Goetz and her colleagues explored what they called the sexual exploitability hypothesis. The hypothesis is based on the differences between male and female reproductive strategies as humans evolved. For ancestral women, casual intercourse with an emotionally unattached man who had no clear intention of sticking around to raise any resulting offspring constituted a massive genetic gamble. By contrast, for a man with somewhere around 85 million sperm cells churned out every day—per testicle—the frivolous expenditure of gametes was far less detrimental to his genetic interests. Goetz and her team began with the assumption that—because our brains evolved long before prophylactics entered the picture—female cognition is still sensitive to the pregnancy-related consequences of uncommitted sex and women remain more reluctant than men to engage in it. They set out to test the idea that any indication that a woman’s guard is lowered—that she’s “sexually exploitable”—is a turn-on for your average man. “[T]he assessment of a woman’s immediate vulnerability,” surmise the authors, “may be central to the activation of psychological mechanisms related to sexual exploitation.”

Okay ladies…..where your thoughts?

So how did this team put their sexual “exploitability” hypothesis to the test? Goetz and her colleagues planned to call a bunch of undergraduate males into the lab and ask them to rate a set of women in terms of attractiveness based on their photographs. But first they needed to pick the appropriate images. To figure out which sorts of women might be deemed most receptive to a sexual advance or most vulnerable to male pressure or coercion, they asked a large group of students (103 men and 91 women) to nominate some “specific actions, cues, body postures, attitudes, and personality characteristics” that might indicate receptivity or vulnerability. These could be psychological in nature (e.g., signs of low self-esteem, low intelligence, or recklessness), or they might be more contextual (e.g., fatigue, intoxication, separation from family and friends). A third category includes signs that the woman is physically weak, and thus more easily overpowered by a male (e.g., she’s slow-footed or small in stature). According to the authors, rape constitutes one extreme end of the “exploitation” spectrum—cheesy pickup lines the other.

Surely someone has an opinion on this study!

2011 Anal-Ocity #18

Osama bin Laden is STILL DEAD!  Feels GOOD to say that!

This is an old draft I had but the events that unfolded in the last week or so delayed its publication….sorry……

I can only say what a good year for idiot statements and a good year for the Anal-Ocities….you know those lame ass sayings that politicians and others make and then immediately start back peddling……

Today’s anal-ocity comes from the mouth of a Oklahoma state representative, Sally Kern (R)……

“We have a high percentage of blacks in prison, and that’s tragic, but are they in prison just because they are black or because they don’t want to study as hard in school? I’ve taught school, and I saw a lot of people of color who didn’t study hard because they said the government would take care of them.”

Kern added that women earn less than men because “they tend to spend more time at home with their families.”

So blacks earn less because they do not work hard enough and women earn less because they spend more time at home…..this seems to be a reoccurring tactic….to boil something down to its lowest denominator….and I would like to hear her excuse for so many whites that are now living in poverty…..

Is it just me or does the more these people talk the more they show just how racist they really are?  And have you heard this sort of thing coming out of the right wing nuts before?

UpDate:  This sad excuse for a representative has been reprimanded by the Oklahoma state legislature!  But the statement is out there and the feelings have been voiced…..

Abby Kelley–Radical Woman

I try to do my part to educate the people on things that they may not think about or realize…..it is March and Women’s History month…..I also try to find people that have contributed to the making of this country and have not been given the respect that they deserve……and Abby Kelley is such a person…….

Abigail (Abby) Kelley was born in 1811 into a strict Quaker family…..being a female her education was that in Quaker schools….after her education was complete, as much as any woman could hope to obtain, she taught school and her road to radical feminism….she lectured and wrote about temperance, pacifism and anti-slavery…..she became more and more progressive while involved with abolitionists, but she not only lectured about freedom for slaves but also a full civil equality…she not only opposed war but also all forms of government coercion, as well as calling for equality for slaves she lead the talk on equality for women……

Her radical abolitionist views continually garnered her recognition as well as hatred even among her male comrades…they especially distanced themselves from her when she began lecturing to “mixed gender” audiences….this promoting many to pull away for her and her endeavors…..she was ridiculed and hated by many within the movement….

In 1838, Kelley began her speaking career and over the years she was criticized over her lectures to men…..she continued to lecture and to be a  fundraiser for the cause of anti-slavery up until her death in 1887…her farm in Mass was labeled “Liberty Farm” and was a meeting place for reformers and radicals, as well as a stop on the Underground Railroad, a path for escape slaves to make it to safety and freedom…..she remained a staunch reformer and radical for equal rights for women as well as slaves until her death…

Abby Kelley was a cornerstone of radicalism in the US and she has not gotten as much respect as she deserved….for she played a major roll in the fight for equal rights…she like so many others, deserves more recognition that she has received….we Americans seem to forget that we owe radicals a large thank you for their work…for without them the country would not be the country it is today……

An Ass To Die For!

Throughout history, the history of mankind, at is, there have been memorable works that define each age on man…..Aristotle, Plato, etc in the Classical Age and then the Reformation with Luther (not the bad guy in Superman) nail his grievances to the door and the Age of Enlightenment when great thinkers produced great works like Newton, Locke, Paine, etc…..and then we come to this “age” of man…….

Just what will we be remembered for?  Great electronics?  Great greed?  How about philosophy?  When, in a thousand years our civilization is studied what will we be known for?

After some thought, I have decided that we will be known as the generation of fakes!  We are concerned with fake tits, fake lips, hips and asses…..speaking of asses (how is that for a segway?)

Police say they are investigating the death of a 20-year-old woman from London who had a cosmetic injection into her buttocks at a hotel near the Philadelphia International Airport.Detectives say the woman and three associates traveled from London and were staying at the Hampton Inn in southwest Philadelphia. Two of them reportedly came to the city in November to have their buttocks enlarged and, on Monday, one received another injection while the other had a hip augmentation.

Detective Joseph Murray said the 20-year-old woman who had the buttocks injection complained of chest pains and trouble breathing. She was later taken to Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital where she died early Tuesday.

Was the result worth the risk?  You wanted an ass to die for……and you got your wish…..

Vanity thy name is woman, someone once said and it is soooo true…..when archeologists dig up some remains they will say it is a female…..no need to know the size of the cervix or whatever for there will be silicone left behind and other substances….and then it can be dated by the substances….alas!  The Age of Vanity!

This May Be A Bit Sexist

If you think so….sorry….but at least I will write the truth….if it offends….so be it…..

First of all, when did men start using facials and removing all their body hair? Sorry, I digress…this about women……

As a girl watcher for many, many years…I have seen trends come and go….mostly go….but the one that has hung on and on simply makes me ill…..I like women to look like a woman…..not some chiseled piece of granite with all the warmth of said stone…..

I am talking about fake blondes with NO butt and less boobs…..women use to have some curves about them and it was very enjoyable for us watchers….but in today’s world we have women with thighs the same shape as their calves….they have a straight line from shoulder to foot…..zero curves……very attractive if you doing a piece on stick people……

It use to be a compliment to say a woman could crack walnuts with her thighs….today women cannot get them close enough together to crack a cantaloupe….where is the the fun there?  We dare NOT talk about a sexual position from behind…the sight would scare a UFC fighter……

I am at least happy that I lived in a time when women looked like women and NOT a tree limb…..trying to be healthy is one thing, but trying to look like a heroine addict is just plain disgusting…….these types are all about appearance and nothing as far as substance goes….kinda like the American society we have today……superficiality is about all they have to offer and are about as interesting as watching flies mate……but if I want to have sex with something that skinny……something thin and solid….I will hump a flag pole!
