The “Communist” Comes To Town

Today is the big day….the new mayor of NYC comes to DC to meet with Donny-Do-Little…..if you recall shortly after he was elected Donny demanded that he ‘be nice’ (seriously the most rude and insulting person in government demands others ‘be nice’….he is hilarious)

President Trump said late Wednesday that the long-awaited meeting with New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani would happen in Washington later this week, setting up an in-person clash between the political polar opposites who for months have antagonized each other from afar, the AP reports. The sit-down, which Trump said on social media would take place Friday in the Oval Office, could possibly represent a detente of sorts between the Republican president and Democratic rising star, as Trump has since Mamdani’s win moved toward acceptance of Mamdani’s central, winning campaign issue of affordability. Calling Mamdani by his full name—and putting the mayor-elect’s middle name of Kwame in quotation marks—Trump posted Wednesday night that Mamdani had asked for the meeting, promising “Further details to follow!”

The day before his visit that idiot press secretary, Leavitt, has stated for the record that Mamdani is a communist and he will come to town…

Geez you people are idiots!

The Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) was formed in 1982 as a bridge between capitalism and socialism….it is neither socialism or communism….is that simple enough?

Experts, however, contend that the DSA’s platform is far removed from the socialism seen in the Soviet Union or Cuba, and in fact, they argue it actually aims to build off America’s Democratic principles.

“Communists want to do away with capitalism altogether. They don’t want any private enterprise. They don’t want any private means of production. And they want a whole world run by people like that,” Michael Kazin, a history professor at Georgetown University, told ABC News. “Democratic socialists are willing to have themselves voted out of power. They believe that once you have a democratic socialist society, people will like that society, but if they don’t want to keep it, then they can go back to a more capitalist society.”

Apparently not many any more…..for years now the DSA has been making headway into the government of the cities, states and nationally….so apparently only morons are afraid.

They are reforming the DNC…..which has needed reforming since the 1990s….but will they succeed?

In conclusion these people are NOT communists or even a true socialist….learn what you are talking about or STFU.

How many years have we had to endure the lies and manure spread by the GOP about those damn socialists?

Well for at least the 50 years that I have been writing about our f*cked up politics.

Looks like the worm  is turning (as they say)….

The GOP is trying desperately to convince the working class that they are the way forward…well at least for the next couple of elections….

Republican candidates running for president often start by declaring that the economy under a Democratic president is in horrible shape — a veritable “carnage” as Donald Trump put it — even though it wasn’t, and with supreme confidence declare that only they have the vision to right the ship.

Their vision — or delusion — is that cutting regulations and taxes is the key to stimulating growth. Unfortunately, the only ones who get “stimulated” are the rich who see the biggest gains from tax cuts.

I have previously shown how tax cuts have not helped the working class. Take a look at this graph. The bottom 50 percent of workers did not see any income gains during the 1980s from Ronald Reagan’s huge tax cuts enacted in 1981.

It is a smoke screen to help their corporate owners get much ‘benefits’ from the government.

Sorry sports fans but the solutions to our domestic problems whether it is poverty, hunger or homelessness will not be solved by corporate America….the real ruling party in this country.

And these problems will not be solved by Congress either….their ineffective governance is a by-product of their corporate ownership.

There are solutions but few want to think about….

Liberals and progressives would do well to understand that while class is not everything – far from it, as I shall argue below – there are still no real or lasting solutions to problems that rightly agitate them under capitalism and bourgeois democracy, that is, under the de facto material dictatorship of the capitalist class and its mode of production. Take the giant American problem of racial inequality and oppression. Does it have a certain real life of its own, one that should not simply be reduced to class in economistic ways? Sure. Of course. Go to any major US city and observe how residence and employment and the lack of both are apportioned and spaced by race. Look at the long and continuing legacies of Black chattel slavery and its ugly stepchild Jim Crow: the de facto racial apartheid, separate and unequal settlement, schooling, and investment patterns that are endemic across the United States along with racially disparate mass incarceration and felony marking and numerous other and interrelated practices and policies wired to produce savagely disparate outcomes by race. Look at the dogged denial of race and systemic white racism’s continuing central relevance in American life on the part of millions of right-wing white Amerikaners, whose politics are shaped at their core by absurd narratives of white victimization and a fear of white demographic encirclement. Race has a terrible space and life of its own in the US. Race matters. It matters a lot.

No Solutions Under Capitalism: Revolution is Required

Dems have a limo dick approach….they wait for the GOP to attack and then they get outraged and counter attack…..but their attack is a haphazard attempt to look engaged….they are not.

The GOP plays the long game on their issues and Dems sleep through their time and react when it is way too late….and there is you main problem….Dems are just as owned by corporations as the GOP….they have NO interest in bucking their donors and owners.

Dems are the biggest problems of our society…..

I like all the Right wing hate news out there and with the rise of Bernie we are bombarded day after day about the evils of Bernie and all the Soviet policies the American people will have to endure with his presidency

One write thinks that there is nothing to worry about for we have already elected the first socialist president.

In a Washington Post op-ed, Catherine Rampell writes that there’s a decent chance a “proven socialist” will be in the White House after the 2020 election. No, not Bernie Sanders. “I’m referring to the one who already occupies the White House,” writes Rampell. Yes, she makes the case that President Trump’s policies qualify him for the label. Trump “has actually implemented anti-market, Soviet-style, centrally planned policies, and he has used the power of the state to punish political enemies,” she writes. “He has merely chosen different beneficiaries (and victims) of his Big Government bigfooting.” Rampell provides examples, including Trump’s use of “government fiat” to prop up pet industries such as coal, as well as hitting major trading partners with tariffs to protect the steel industry and others.

As another example of his “central planning,” she cites his multiple bailouts of farmers hurt by trade fights. When President Obama dared bail out the auto industry a decade ago, critics on the right accused him of setting us on “the road toward socialism,” writes Rampell. “Today, these same Republicans seem curiously unperturbed.” She cites other examples to buttress her case that Trump is running a “command-and-control-style economy” and concludes with this: “If you’re a Never Trumper worried that Sanders will take this country down the road to serfdom, beware: President Trump has already paved the path.” (Read the full column.)

Unfortunately I agree but her words will fall on deaf ears…..because of the extreme ignorance on the subject of socialism….it is what happens when you base everything you know on generalities and BS.

Spend some time with a reference book and learn your facts.

Is Obama A Socialist?

Have you noticed that some things never change when it comes to the “Ignorati”?

This is one of my favorite pieces of manure from the Right….Obama is a socialist…or is it Marxist….or ……..what it is is total fabrication from loonies that would not know a socialist if one walked up and bit them in the ass.

Months after Obama has left office the dog whistle idiots on the Right are still going on about Obama as some sort of “socialist”…..I understand why they do it…..it is because they will not bring themselves to admit that their man in the White House is incompetent fool….so they are still stuck on Obama and anyone that will not agree with them as some sort of “socialist” conspiracy….FYI….do not compare Trump to a fascist or they, the Right, will go batcrap crazy for only they can make shit up about a president past of present.

But let’s look at Obama being a socialist.

The easy answer to the question is NO….but that is not good enough for the chin wagers on the Right…..so let’s look deeper…..

With all that said…..cut it anyway you slow mental midgets like…the answer is still….NO!

BTW….being black does NOT make a socialist either….contrary to popular belief.

Can Bernie Keep Socialism Alive?

2016 election will have something that has not happened in a really long time….an actual socialist running for prez that actually has a chance…….

The more popular Bernie gets the more the media pushes his socialist roots…….to me it smells like an attempt at sabotage……I mean they, the media, has been force feeding the public Hillary Clinton for 2 or more years as the Democratic front runner.  And now that Bernie is gathering steam and giving her a good run for the money the MSM wants the voting public to remember the Bernie is a socialist…..a Democratic socialist…..

I am talking about all media from print to cable….MSNBC had him on last week for a spot and the anchor just kept hammering him on socialism…..to me it was not a veiled attempt….it was blatant.

His intellectual forbear, Eugene V. Debs, could be an inspiration. He could also be a warning.

Bernie continues to gather support…..it appears that the public is not interested in what his “label” is these days…..most are looking for change and I mean real change….not that pansy reform of the Clintons.

But I expect the media and others to continue to try and hammer the socialist label with a hope that it will eventually catch and make Bernie an unattractive candidate.

I mean look at the person with all the media coverage….Trump…..he dangles shiny bobbles for the viewers and the mental midgets go to it and are amazed……at least with Bernie the people hear issues and solutions….not about someone’s hair or how much money they have  or how amazing they are personally…..we deserve Trump…..we need Bernie!

The Real “Opiate Of The Masses”

For those who think this will be a diatribe on the value of Marx’s statement on religion….you would be mistaken.  While I appreciate a lot of the work of Karl Marx I will disagree with him on this one.    While my “opiate” has become a more or less modern phenom….who knows Marx might agree with me it he were alive today…..(wishful thinking on my part, no doubt)…….

My “opiate”, as I have mentioned, is not religion but rather consumerism.

That is right…YOU!  You buy then you have become an addict to the drug that corporate media has created……In capitalism, profit becomes the goal and consumers are considered a means to that end.  Thus the final goal is the creation of more and more consumers.

The conception of “consumer” is an illusion possible only once production and consumption have been alienated as apparently separate and independent processes.  Every act of consumption is equally an act of production, so the alienation of one from the other is a social construction.  Since wage-workers produce only to earn a living, and are alienated from their own labor, the illusion is created that their only real life is as a consumer.

Theodor Adorno of the Frankfurt School focused on the creation of a global consumer culture.  The mass media has created pop culture, Hollywood, and commercial TV which fuels mass consumption..this encourages celebrity worship, lifestyle worship and yes, Greed……

What can I say….back in the 1920’s, Italian Marxist, Antonio Gramsci made a very forward looking prediction….he said the the mass media would drive hegemony…..not bad considering that in his day newspapers and a bit of radio were considered mass media……he was saying the the mass media would drive politics, culture and yes, Greed!  Take a look at politics today.  Take a look at our so-called culture today.  It is all drive by the media.

The media drives our consumerism…..we are told what cars to buy, which credit card makes us whole, what political indoctrination we need and what is life all about…..the mass media controls all!

There you have it…..consumerism is the “real” opiate of the masses………

Keeping with the socialist theme…….

For a couple of years now…we liberals have been maligned by the Right for all too many reasons….because we do not agree with some of the more outrageous issues then were must be socialists in liberal clothing…..and of course since Obama is a black dude he has to be a socialist…..and since he wanted adequate health care for all Americans he must be a communist  and he even knew Saul Alinsky that would make him a Marxist….and just when I was getting use to the idea that conservatives thought me/us as socialists……my fav kook on the Right has to crap on my parade…..I mean Glenn Beck and his show…..

Far-right blogger Pam Geller was on Beck’s show and was talking about the possibility of Samantha Power could be the next Sec of State….Geller was most upset about something Power said when she was asked about the Israeli-Palestinian solution of a 2 state solution……

the mask comes off, and out comes Obama’s army of little nazis.  Power was asked what would be necessary to stop a move toward genocide by “one party or another” in the Israel-Palestinian conflict; she said it may require investment in a new Palestinian state and a “meaningful military presence.”

And then she resorted to her normal diatribe……example of Geller invoking Nazis to attack those with whom she disagrees. Geller previously accused President Obama of “go[ing] full on Nazi,” claimed Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan is “an admirer of an architect of German national socialism, Nazism,” and called Democrats “National Socialists.”

So now I am a Nazi/ fascist….Since I do not agree with her on anything….that would make me a National Socialists…..at least the title has ‘socialist’ in it……we went from the far left to now the far right……damn!  We need to get our titles straight or we could confuse our opposition…..

I am so confused….will someone please make my mind up for me!

The Government Is Coming For You

For years we have thought that those on the Right that were concerned about the government becoming a dictatorship and doing unmentionable things like home invasions, gun confiscation, literature confiscation, and so on….we have looked the other way when it was against people that we deem ‘terrorists’ and then in the same breath condemn it when it is someone like those that support the Tea Party and its affiliates…..but the truth is that it could very well be a real concern and NOT an unwarranted fear…..

The raids carried out by the FBI against antiwar activists last week are an ominous warning to the entire working class. The police-state tactics show the extent to which basic democratic rights—including the right to free speech and political association—have been undermined in the US.The Obama administration ordered the invasion of the homes of several individuals—primarily members of the Freedom Road Socialist Organization (FRSO)—and the seizure of documents, computers, cell phones, cameras and other personal and political material. Those targeted have been summoned to appear before a grand jury on October 12 and may face criminal prosecution for “material support” for terrorism.

What is the rationale for these actions? There are vague and unsubstantiated allegations of visits to groups that the US government officially designates as “terrorist.” These designations are entirely guided by the requirements at any given time of US foreign policy—that is, organizations are deemed to be “terrorist” depending on whether they are supporting or opposing US interests in the Middle East, Latin America or other parts of the globe.

Under attack is not simply one organization. The government and its array of military-police agencies aim to expand the criminalization of dissent in the United States.

The move by the FBI and the Obama administration is intended as a trial balloon. They seek to create a precedent as well as gauge the reaction from the public and from the media. On the last score, the administration is no doubt pleased with the response: near-universal silence. The newspapers have buried the story, and the television news has not covered it. The New York Times, the voice of the liberal establishment, printed a small article on its inside pages.

Why are there so much fear and loathing on the Right……and why is there NOTHING said about an obvious attack on civil rights?  Civil Rights are NOT just for those who think like Michele Bachmann or O’Donnell……..This whole episode takes me back to the days in the 70’s during protests when COINTELPRO was used to set aside people’s civil rights in the name of security…

Can you smell that?  That is the smell of approaching civil unrest…….

The breakdown of American democracy is inextricably linked to the growing social crisis in the United States itself. Inequality in the US is at record heights. The financial aristocracy has exploited a crisis of its own making to vastly enrich itself. It is now demanding that the bill be paid by the working class in the form of wage cuts, mass unemployment and austerity.

Something has GOT to change!  And the upcoming elections is NOT going to be that change!

Note:  In my last paper, Equality–What Is It Good For?”, I omitted explaining where the different political ideologies stand on the subject…….I would like to correct that oversight on my part……..I would like to thank Andrew Heywood and his book “Political Ideologies” for the breakdown by political leanings……he gave a much better synopsis than I would have….and in fewer words……I like simple but informative….

When it comes to people what are their particular beliefs in the “institution” of equality……I am glad you asked…..

Liberals:  believe that people are born equal, in the sense of equal moral value….this implies formal equality, as well as the equality of opportunity.  Classical liberal thinking emphasizes the need for strict meritocracy and economic incentives—modern liberals argue that genuine equal opportunities require relative social equality.

Conservatives:  view society as naturally hierarchical and have dismissed equality as an abstract and unachievable goal.  Modern conservatives see a strongly individualist belief in equality of opportunity while emphasizing the economic benefits of material inequality.

Socialists:  regard equality as essential and a fundamental value and endorse social equality.  Regardless of shifts in type of socialism, equality is seen as necessary for the establishment of justice or equality, and the enlarging more freedom in a positive sense.

Anarchists:  stress political equality, as understood as equal and absolute right to personal autonomy, implying that all forms of political inequality amounts to oppression.

Fascists:  believe that all of humankind is marked by radical inequality, between leaders and followers and between various nations or races…..nevertheless, the emphasis on nation or race implies that all members are equal, in terms of their core social identity.

There you have the major political ideologies and how they view the idea of equality…..remember, also, that there are many sub-categories within these ideas and that some of the views are tweaked to reflect their view of the subject.

Sad that this subject has to be covered yet again……

A lot of stuff pisses me off, but the most angered I get is when someone makes the comment that Obama is somehow a secret socialist……from the Tea baggers to Fox News to CPAC…the prez has been likened to a socialist in Dem clothing…he has been likened to Stalin, Lenin and other Red notables….but does any one of these people realize what a socialist is?

Okay he is a socialist…which type?  Marxist, Communist, Democratic Socialist or Social Democrat–just which one is he?  They do NOT know because they have no idea what they are talking about…it is just a slogan…just hate and name calling……there is NO truth to it…it denies reality…..according to wiki:

Socialism refers to the various theories of economic organization advocating either public or direct worker ownership and administration of the means of production and allocation of resources. Read it again….and again……and yet again….get it through your thick head that Obama is NO socialist…..

A summarization of socialism……government takes from capital and gives to the people……let’s try that again…..government takes from capital and gives to the people…is that simple enough?  Can you grasp the idea?

Obama and his cronies through the stim plan has taken from the people and given to capital…once more….Obama has taken from the people and given to capital……

If Pres. Obama is a socialist then he is a ….DYSLEXIC SOCIALIST!  (you do know what dyslexic means, right?)

Please stop using that analogy….you look like a complete political moron every time you use it……if you can not be accurate then please keep your pie hole shut…if you are idiot enough to listen and believe this garbage then I have some land in Florida I will sell to you by the gallon or better a bridge in Brooklyn that would round out your portfolio…..For me, anyone that use this analogy has the IQ of their hat size…..a failure of the education system or just a symptom of utter STUPIDITY!
