I have been fascinating at the complete reversal of her firebrand over the last few months….and now she goes even further and is busting on GOP men…..

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene delivered a fiery and expletive-laden rant on social media Wednesday, targeting Republican men while defending her decision to resign from Congress. The Georgia Republican’s outburst came after her Tuesday post, describing X as a “toxic, hateful, and divisive” space, received a one-sentence response from right-wing internet figure Mike Cernovich: “You need to serve out your full term.” Greene, who has spoke of facing threats and personal attacks, shot back, “Do I have to stay until I’m assassinated like our friend Charlie Kirk. Will that be good enough for you then?”

Greene said she’d suffered enough fighting her fair share of political battles and accused Cernovich of armchair criticism, per the Independent. “S— posting on the internet all day isn’t fighting. Get off YOUR a– and run for Congress,” she wrote. “Put down your little pebbles and put your money where your mouth is.” Greene escalated her criticism an hour later, posting a screenshot of her earlier post and accusing “Republican men” of sexism and complacency.

“Typical of Republican men telling a woman to ‘shut up get back in the kitchen and fix me something to eat.’ F— you in the sweetest most southern drawl I can enunciate,” she wrote. “Get off your a– and fix your own damn food and clean up the kitchen when you’re done.” She then blasted the way men “continue in the two party toxic political system that acts like college football playoffs yet is burying you and your children and their children and their children in a pine box in a shallow grave.”

Is she being dramatic of an alarmist?

I will say that her turn around has taken most of us politician watcher off balance…..so far her change has caught most of us off balance and we are still trying to wrap our head around the directional change.

I read this post in Moderate Voice and wanted to share it with the IST readers….

I don’t wish death on anyone. I’ve scolded more than one friend for posting in my comments on Facebook death wishes for Donald Trump. I don’t do that, and I don’t think liberals or Democrats should do it either. Let the other side be vile. Half of the reason I don’t want political opponents dead is that I don’t wish bad things to anyone. ANYONE. The other reason is that MAGAts would martyr the hell out of it if something happened.

When someone, a Republican, shot at Trump at one of his hate rallies, it pissed me off. When a man with a gun was found waiting to shoot Trump at one of his shitty golf resorts, it pissed me off again. I was shouting at my TV, “You’re hurting us more than helping, f—ers!” Violence leads to more violence. This was followed by the murder of Democratic state legislators in Minnesota.

I don’t wish bad crap to happen to bad people, but when it does, I don’t go all thoughts-and-prayers about it. Even if I did care about those people, I know that thoughts and prayers don’t work. Even when their own are murdered by guns, the thoughts-and-prayers crowd never tries to find solutions other than suggesting stupid ideas like giving teachers guns.

Then to give another side to this story….

There are so many words and cliches condemning the killing of Charles James Kirk, and none of the refrains are unique. “We need to dial back our discourse”, “we need to be tolerant of different opinions,” and “there is no room in American politics for political violence.” Are people blind to the realities that have been swirling all around us? The language has been violent. The discord has been great. There has been a consistent invitation to dine at the table of heated racist discussion posing as legitimate political speech.

The killing of Charlie Kirk fits within this arena of speech that is racist and hate-filled, but is designed to pose as rational and logical political speech. In his rhetoric and so-called debate style this 31-year-old evangelical firebrand of the right has stated that Black pilots were incompetent, Gays should be stoned, ironically he was opposed to gun control, abortion, LGBTQ rights, criticized the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and Martin Luther King Jr., promoted Christian nationalism, advanced COVID-19 misinformation, made false claims of electoral fraud in 2020, and is a proponent of the Great Replacement conspiracy theory.

Words have consequences….while I do not condone this type of political expression I do see how we got to this spot in our history.

There is only so much hate that can be passed around before someone takes some sort of misguided action.

I will mourn but not for this guy…..I mourn for what has become of my country that use to be called ‘the beacon of freedom’.

This will probably be my last post on this incident unless something earth shaking comes out.

The Coming Civil War

This may be my only post today for my best friend died yesterday and I need some time to process the loss.

You may think this is a dead topic…..but look around there is still plenty of life left in the old girl.

We all have heard it before that the US is heading for a new civil war thanx to the Orange Man from Florida….actually that is a bit of a bullsh*t piece of rhetoric.

In reality this ‘civil war’ has been brewing for many decades….it got a little closer with the rise of the Tea Party in 2010 and then the shots were fired with the rise of Trump and his minions of sickos.

And now it is here and here to stay for many years until the hatred for others is diminished….and when we start acting like the country we all know we deserve.

This civil war will be fought over political ideology.

There remains an argument that the United States is tragically headed for a second civil war – this one fought over political ideology.

It is seen literally as a war that could be fought between the left and right in this country.  (This is manure!  There is no Left in this country only in the minds of idiots.  All there is is a Right and a moldy old Center.)

“American politics turned hyper toxic several years ago, and ever since commentators have raised the specter of a second civil war. No other historical parallel, it seems, captures so viscerally today’s national division into two hostile camps, each convinced the other poses a mortal threat to the republic,” the Council on Foreign Relations noted in a piece looking at how today is not like the 1850s – the years leading up to the Civil War.

It argued that we are not all that close to the same type of open conflict we witnessed 160 years ago. There are several factors at play that need to be considered.

America simply isn’t headed for Civil War because we’re 21st-century Americans. A few hotheads will continue to make trouble – and they should be punished accordingly if they go too far, as they did on January 6, 2021. But an actual American Civil War 2.0 won’t happen because we like our conveniences just too much, while the checks and balances are in place. 

Instead, we are likely to remain in an uncivil war where we just do not like each other all that much. 

A Second American Civil War?

I agree that there will be nothing like our first Civil War….but that does not mean that this one will not be bloody, not in the sense of gunshot wounds but rather in the sense of the loss of rights.

Will you be a spectator or will you be on the front lines to protect and preserve all Americans rights?

Will you sit idly by while group after group loses its way and its privileges?

Will you be a true American can  stand-up for what is right and just?

Will you?

Reemergence And Retribution

As the Senate Trial of Trump is entering the final stage……Americans hold their breath waiting for the outcome…but they are not alone…..

He, Trump, is waiting in the shadows for now….waiting for the end of the trial….waiting for the chance to reemerge and doll out his retribution…..

He being Donald the Orange.

He is waiting to consolidate is iron grip on the GOP….and then he can doll out retribution on all those that he perceives as disloyal.

Only logical because he did so as president to those people that within the GOP that did not give him the support he thought he deserved.

He will step out of the shadows after te trial and return to his former self.

Now, heading into what could have been an historic bipartisan rebuke, the former president and his team are confident both of his acquittal and that he’ll come out of the trial with his influence over the Republican party all but cemented.

We all know that the day of reckoning is approach and soon he will exact his retribution on those that wronged him.

Some say yes….but I say NO way…..this is the GOP of today and the amount of supporters show their popularity with the people.

We all have heard the story of the governor of Virginia….his now famous photo the its me and the next day not me……

Virginia’s governor on Saturday vowed to remain in office despite widespread calls for his resignation after a racist photo surfaced on a school yearbook page, the AP reports. His refusal to step down could signal a potentially long and bruising fight between Northam and his former supporters. Northam said at a news conference he had prematurely apologized for appearing in what he called a “horrific” picture of a person in blackface and another wearing a Ku Klux Klan outfit. The photo appeared on Northam’s profile page in his 1984 medical school yearbook. The Democratic governor said he had never even seen the yearbook before Friday and that he was blindsided by what was on his page.

“That is not my picture. That is not my person in that picture,” Northam told reporters at the Executive Mansion in Richmond. While he acknowledged apologizing on Friday, Northam said he had no actual recollection of wearing such racist garb. He spoke to classmates from medical school who agreed. He said he was in the process of obtaining a yearbook so that he could try to determine how the photo even got on his profile page. It remained unclear whether Northam’s remarks would calm the wave of criticism sparked by the yearbook’s contents. Before he spoke, the Virginia Democratic Party was among those who issued a statement demanding Northam’s immediate resignation. (Florida’s secretary of state resigned in January over blackface photos.)

Seriously?  This guy is tap dancing (no pun intended) to try and save his job…..personally time for this d/bag to step down….do the right thing!

The Country Of The Five Tribes

In a few days you go to the polls and vote…..and how will you vote…..why do you vote as you do?  Of course those are rhetorical questions so don’t get too excited…..

I am just trying to be a little FYI and to make my readers think before they use their vote…..

There are many Americans that have witnessed the descent of American politics into tribalism…..a political “us against them”…..

“Every difference of opinion,” Thomas Jefferson warned in his first inaugural address, “is not a difference of principle.” Speaking to his countrymen after an election every bit as bitter as the one that put Donald J. Trump in the White House, Jefferson was trying to soothe the reigning animosity between the nation’s two dominant political parties. “We are all Republicans,” he added. “We are all Federalists.”

Not anymore. In 21st century America, any notion that election results end the argument, however temporarily, is an anachronism. So, too, is the conceit that a nation this large and diverse is divided neatly along “50-50” lines, with half of America’s 253 million adults supporting Democrats, and the other half backing Republicans.

Today, slightly more than one-fourth of registered voters in the United States have political views and social attitudes placing them in the camp of the “Resistance” — to President Trump and the Trump-era Republican Party.

It Slowly Goes To Hell

I am watching the country slowly go to Hell……and parts of society does not care because it has gotten so hateful that it will allow the destruction of a Great Society…..

Since the end of the Cold War, it has widely been assumed that U.S. foreign policy would follow one of two courses: Either the United States would continue as primary defender of the international order it created after World War II, or it would pull back from overseas commitments, shed global responsibilities, turn inward and begin transitioning to a post- ­American world. The second approach was where U.S. foreign policy seemed headed under President Barack Obama, and most saw the election of Donald Trump as another step toward withdrawal.

It turns out there was a third option: the United States as rogue superpower, neither isolationist nor internationalist, neither withdrawing nor in decline, but active, powerful and entirely out for itself. In recent months, on trade, Iran, NATO defense spending and perhaps even North Korea, President Trump has shown that a president willing to throw off the moral, ideological and strategic constraints that limited U.S. action in the past can bend this intractable world to his will, at least for a while.

And the hard core Right is itching for a fight…..a possible civil war….does anyone remember how that turned out the last time?

The backlash to the Trump administration caging immigrant children has led to store owners asking White House officials to not eat in their restaurants and to protesters publicly confronting those supporting Trump’s policies. Now, voices on the far-right are increasingly unified in their only solution to the matter: civil war.

While several far-right figures have been speculating about a looming U.S. break-up for some time, recent rhetoric is a marked escalation from even a few months ago, when certain historical illiterates were only calling for an “amicable divorce.”

Obvious Explanations Are The Best

Many people both Left and Right have been wondering just what Trump has done to keep so many supporters even after he has been caught lying to them and breaking promises left and right…..

I read a story that helps to explain this phenomena……..

It’s incomprehensible to many of us that people could support a president who, in Bernie Sanders’ words, “is compulsively dishonest, who is a bully, who actively represents the interests of the billionaire class, who is anti-science, and who is trying to divide us up based on the color of our skin, our nation of origin, our religion, our gender, or our sexual orientation.”

Based on various trusted sources and a dab of cognitive science, it’s fair to conclude that there are three main reasons for this unlikely phenomenon.

Personally, after knowing a few of the Trump supporters I find Number 3 the most accurate…..they cannot accept they were wrong and will spend energy making excuses for whatever it is that Trump continues to do or say….they cannot admit that they were wrong!

In the last couple of years the rise in alt-Right Fight Clubs has been rising.

In the image, Hitler is seated on a window ledge, looking down with weepy-eyes on a dreary, overcast sky. “Matches my mood,” Yankova wrote.

“Aryan sadness?” asked a commenter.

“Only the weather and the restriction of carbohydrates,” she responded with a purple devil emoji later that day, September 2, 2013.

It seems that white supremacists are more and more learning missed martial arts fighting in preparation for the coming race war…..think about that for a moment…….

A coming war……Karate and boxing against bullets……good possibility they, the alt-Right, needs to re-think their strategy.

To Hate All Things Trump

How many Americans hate everything Fearless Fosdick does?  Well we know those few die hard Trump-ites will see everything this bozo does through rose colored glasses even when he nails them without the use of vasoline…..

But could there be a down side to hating his policies and his actions?

Donald Trump’s utterly appalling presidency somehow hit a new low on Wednesday, when he retweeted a British fascist (who has been charged with “causing religiously aggravated harassment“) who had posted videos of Muslims, especially immigrant ones, supposedly committing crimes. The clear and obvious intent was to whip up hatred by holding 1.8 billion people responsible for the alleged crimes of individual Muslims. (In at least one of the videos the perpetrator was not even a migrant, as the tweet had said.) In terms of racist hatemongering, it is in all important respects identical to the Nazi “Der Jude” posters.

The president of the United States boosting this diseased racist propaganda quite understandably taints everything else he says and does. However, even this galling behavior doesn’t mean that President Trump’s views are 100 percent bad all the time. Similarly, the enemy of your enemy is not necessarily your friend — and it’s important not to side with bad actors just because they happen to fall afoul of the president’s meandering, addle-brained resentments.

The truth is that there was a time when there were a few of his policies that I could get behind…..but those days are long gone…..for I see or hear nothing that I would follow for any reason….unlike the GOP that will lick his boots for a political win now and then.
