Stereotyping Is Such BS!

It has been over a week since all the hoopla started in the ME…….I have been listening to all the pundits analyze what is happening in the Middle East as I type……..conservs like Morning Joe are saying flat out that Muslims hate us….libs are begging for understanding……

I will weigh in…..Arabs do NOT hate us, at least when I was in the ME I did not find this….yes, they do appreciate the government and some of their ideas for what is important in the region….but they do NOT hate just because you are an American.  We have all these people fanning the flames by making blanket statements…most of which are LIES!  Yes, there are those groups that preach hatred of the US….but only a small amount of people take them seriously……And yes, some average Arabs will throw rocks at the embassy….but most of that is out of frustration more than hatred.

The problem is that too many Americans will let someone form their opinions for them……not one media pundit is held responsible for the lies they spread….okay someone will fact check them but that is about as far as it goes……and then they allow a war hawk like Dan Senor to spout his crap and NO one challenges him on his “mis-statements”….I would use lies but I want to be kind…

There is the problem….Americans like categorizing people….it is easier than learning the truth…….so because few people know anything about Muslims then they must be the bad guy…..Stereotyping in any form is just plain wrong and LAZY!

Already, we’ve learned that the “Israeli-American” identified as Sam Bacile is probably a Coptic Christian named Nakoula Basseley Nakoula. His Innocence of Muslimsfilm wasn’t funded by Jews and it may have had nothing to do with the American deaths: Libya looks more and more like a well-planned terrorist attack, “not spontaneous mob violence.”

The early narrative was embraced because it “fit so nicely into some common stereotypes—about crazy Muslims who get whipped into a death frenzy at the drop of a hat, about the backstage machinations of Jews, and about the natural tension between Muslims and Jews,” says Wright. Expect more misconceptions to fall by the wayside—don’t judge Egyptian leader Mohamed Morsi too quickly, for example, until you remember the minefield of domestic politics he has to navigate. Conservs are the worse……since it fits nicely into the bogus narrative they have on the Middle East…..stereotyping is the easiest way to make their case against any group of people…in this case……….The Arabs.  Just keep in mind Europe in the 1930’s when another ethnic group was being stereotyping and demonization.

A Very Successful Con Job

I always like to hear about a good con job, especially political ones….you know like the con job that tax cuts will create jobs and increase revenue…..or that national health care will create death panels….just to mention a few….I recently saw a report that leads me to believe there has been a ten year successful con job perpetuated on the American people….

Since the attack on 9/11, a day we observe as Patriots Day….today….has started a deluge of misinformation by a number of sources to foment hatred of Muslims….if you have watched any news organizations shows then you will recall at least one such report of the creeping sharia law or some such …….

But a recent report from the Center for American Progress,  has shed a little more light on what is really going on….with the help of “think tanks” and so-called “experts” the American people have been bombarded with tons of misinformation…..

The 130-page report, ‘Fear, Inc.: The Roots of the Islamophobia Network in America’, identifies seven foundations that have quietly provided a total of more than 42 million dollars to key individuals and organisations that have spearheaded the nation-wide effort between 2001 and 2009.The network also includes what the report calls “misinformation experts” – including Frank Gaffney of the Center for Security Policy (CSP), Daniel Pipes of the Philadelphia-based Middle East Forum (MEF), Steven Emerson of the Investigative Project on Terrorism, David Yerushalmi of the Society of Americans for National Existence, and Robert Spencer of Stop Islamization of America (SIOA) – who are often tapped by television news networks and right-wing radio talk shows to comment on Islam and the threat it allegedly poses to U.S. national security.

“This small band of radical ideologues has fought to define Sharia as a ‘totalitarian ideology’ and legal- political-military doctrine committed to destroying Western civilization,” the report said. “But a scholar of Islam and Muslim tradition would not recognise their definition of Sharia, let alone a lay practicing Muslim.”

Nonetheless, the group’s messages receive wide dissemination by what the report calls an “Islamophobia echo chamber” consisting of leaders of the Christian Right, such as Franklin Graham and Pat Robertson, and some Republican politicians, such as presidential candidates Representative Michele Bachmann and former Speaker of the House of Representatives Newt Gingrich.

This report was released on August 26, 2011 and was NOT covered by any media….I guess we could blame Irene for the lack of attention and by the time the hurricane had run its course…..the report was not considered newsworthy…..

I read the report and just wanted people to know that NOT everything you hear about Muslims is the truth….that some have this desire to have Americans hate someone or something……even if those they hate are Americans….and that my friends…is the truly sad part!

Obedient Wives Club

My last day of ZEN….my last day of total relaxation and contemplation……my last day of sanity……oh well here goes….

I remember a talk I had years ago with my grandfather on marriage….NO! Not that talk….but rather what to expect……he told me there are two things to remember…..1–women marry men because they want him to change…and he does not….and 2– men marry women and hope they will not change….and they do….and that most assuredly involves sex……

Now here is a good idea? (sarcasm)

The group, started by a group of Muslim women who also support polygamy, says women must believe in God and be hot in the sack to keep the peace. “A man married to a woman who is as good or better than a prostitute in bed has no reason to stray. A woman must do all she can to ensure his desires are met,” Rohaya Mohamed tells the Straits Times.

So if women screw like a high paid call girl they will keep their hubby happy and the abuse will cease, is that about it?  What a crock of crap!

Of course, this has taken a hit from activists….

The proclamation has unleashed a storm of criticism. “To hinge fidelity, domestic violence, and the fulfillment of a husband’s responsibilities purely on a wife’s capacity to be obedient, stimulate sexual arousal is not only demeaning to wives, but to husbands as well,” said Shahrizat Jalil, the minister for Women, Family and Community Development. If men would be truthful then they would admit that their “significant other” would be a lot more bearable if they had sex like a hooker….but to come out and say it in no uncertain terms is just…..well stupid!

Sharia Law Cometh

I recently wrote about the possibility that birth control pills could be illegal in Colorado if a certain ballot initiative passes on November 2…….and we have seen that the Arizona law did a lot stopping just in time before they made it illegal to be Hispanic….I am sure that there are other referendums that the voter will be asked to decide on election….but this one has me stumped…..

The newest lunatic suggestion is beyond idiotic….I realize that Americans quake in the shoes when they hear the word Muslim….but PLEASE!

This measure amends the State Constitution. It changes a section that deals with the courts of this state. It would amend Article 7, Section 1. It makes courts rely on federal and state law when deciding cases. It forbids courts from considering or using international law. It forbids courts from considering or using Sharia Law.

Forbids the use of Sharia Law……is this a big problem here in the US?  Are judges making rulings based on Sharia Law instead of the Constitution?

Do any of you slow thinking people even know what Sharia Law is?  Let me help a bit……

  • Sharia Law is described as “a religious code for living, in the same way that the Bible offers a moral system for Christians.”
  • Sharia Law cites “Haram” offenses that carry punishments for those who commit them.
  • Offenses include pre-marital sex, adulter, alcohol intake, theft, robbery, etc.
  • Sharia Law has been adopted across various countries.
  • Sharia Law is intended to be applied to only Muslims.

The key for you mental midgets is the last point in the series….the Law is intended to apply to Muslims ONLY…….therefore it is virtually impossible for it to be applied to anything in the US…..Let me know if you have a problem understand that complexity….

Are these people slow or just plain stupid?  I realize that they are afraid of their own shadow when it comes to anything Muslim…..but really…..give this kind of waste of time and effort a rest…..

Can You Say….Xenophobia?

No…it is not a world on Star Trek!  It can best be describes as…..an unreasonable fear or hatred of foreigners or strangers or of that which is foreign or strange.

I guess I started thinking about this after the Mosque saga and then onto the preacher in Florida and his silly idea of burning the Koran…….(glad to say at the time of this writing the preacher has canceled the burning event).  Do you not love the idea of an organization named “Dove World Outreach”…the dove?  The symbol of peace….used as a tool for hate…gotta love the nuts on these people…..a Christian organization?  Makes me think of something Gandhi once said…”I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ.”

Xenophobia?  Remember the days of yore, the 1920’s and 30’s, in Germany…. a party came to power basically blaming a whole race for the troubles of the country….before we have lots of BS…I am only comparing political atmosphere here)….then there were idiot zealots that flew planes into buildings all in the name of religion…..and then there was a Mosque that was purposed and the crazies started blaming a whole religion for the act of a couple of morons….and now we have had this Christ wannabe threatening to burn the holy book of a religion because it is somehow “evil”….again blaming an entire religion for the acts of a few nut jobs……it was hate in the 1920’s…it is hate today!

This can be said to be one of those “recurrent cycles” that I have been writing about….this type of thinking has occurred and re-occurred many times throughout history….when times are tough…especially economic times…..we tend to try and blame someone for the troubles and that is where the xenophobic attitude prevails…..

“Question with boldness even the existence of a God; because, if there be one, he must more approve of the homage of reason, than that of blind-folded fear.”……..do you know who said that?……..(pause here for reflection)…….not sure?  It was the hero of the conservatives….Thomas Jefferson……all the whackos quote him liberally with the tree of liberty thing and maybe they should spend a little more time reading about the man……for he saw what hate really was…..HATE!  No matter how hard we try we cannot disguise hate as anything but what it is …..HATE!

Just thought I would let my readers know that this post was inspired by a comment to Quin at Quintessential Havoc (GO!  Blogroll will take you to his site…thoughtful and insightful) about the religious and political theater developing over the mosque in NYC.

In case you were wondering….a VOMITORIUM is where people go to pass on political regurgitation…..and this subject is all about such an occurrence…..

Second, I am by NO means condoning nor condemning the idea of a Islamic Center near Ground Zero…..what I will speak about is the whole affair through the lens of the US Constitution…..

Holy Crap!  Did you hear what the President had to say about the building of the center near ground zero?

“As a citizen, and as president, I believe that Muslims have the same right to practice their religion as everyone else in this country,” Mr. Obama told an intently listening crowd gathered at the White House Friday evening to observe the Islamic holy month of Ramadan.

“That includes the right to build a place of worship and a community center on private property in lower Manhattan, in accordance with local laws and ordinances,” he said. “This is America, and our commitment to religious freedom must be unshakable.”

And after he said that…the firestorm of the fanatical Right began firing the shots at what the Prez had to say….it was going to be inevitable…..

Gingrich, a Republican and former House speaker, also condemned the president’s comments.

“There is nothing surprising in the president’s continued pandering to radical Islam,” Gingrich said. “What he said last night is untrue and inaccurate. The fact is this is not about religious liberty.”

Gingrich said that the proposed mosque and community center would be a symbol of Muslim “triumphalism” and that building it near the site of the Sept. 11 attacks “would be like putting a Nazi sign next to the Holocaust museum.”

This is just pure political bullsh*t….you Know it…they know it!
This is NOT an issue that needs to be spent time on….people are starving, losing homes, unemployed and totally screwed and these dipshits want to fight on and on for something emotional…….
It is simple…..the 1st amendment of the Constitution….may I say to the creeps on the Right….if you cannot live with the laws that are given in the Constitution then scrap it and start over!  You cannot pick and choose what parts of the document you want to live by or defend….it is either ALL OR NOTHING.  And if you are not capable of doing either one….then shut the Hell up!

So cleavage and breast and the sight of them are causing all the earthquakes…….this anal statement made by a cleric in the country of Iran that is one of the most active areas for quakes and if I am not mistaken there is NOT that much cleavage to be seen in the country………

Was It Worth It?

Back in September I posted about a British couple that got caught having sex on a beach in the UAE.  And now a follow up.

A British couple convicted of having sex on a beach in Dubai have been freed and ordered deported to the UK after their three-month prison sentence was suspended.

The ruling, issued by Dubai’s court of appeal, marks a hard-fought victory for Michelle Palmer, 36, of Rutland, and Vince Acors, 34, of southeast London, who have been on bail since their July 5 arrest on Jumeirah Beach.

“This decision shows the law in the United Arab Emirates is just. Judges are not swayed by the media, they are swayed by the evidence,” he said.

Sources told The Times that the court’s climbdown from its original conviction stemmed from inconsistencies from the prosecution’s key witness, Ali Mohamed Yacoub – the police officer who arrested the couple after they’d spent the day drinking at a champagne brunch.

The court’s decision today marks a departure from the six years behind bars that the couple could have potentially faced for having sex outside marriage, public indecency and drunkenness.

Would not the price of a hooker been a lot cheaper and much safer?
