Our House Divided

Most of us see the division in our country….it is really bad in our politics and this country is in trouble when the people that govern hates about half of the population.

At September’s televised memorial service for Charlie Kirk, President Donald Trump commented on the conservative commentator’s character, saying, “He did not hate his opponents; he wanted the best for them.” He then added, “That’s where I disagreed with Charlie. I hate my opponents. And I don’t want the best for them.”

Like too much of the political class across the ideological spectrum, Trump is prone to despising those he disagrees with. It raises questions about why people should ever submit to the governance of those who hate them—and whether politicians realize they’re a big part of what brought us to this unfortunate moment.

“It’s long past time for all Americans and the media to confront the fact that violence and murder are the tragic consequence of demonizing those with whom you disagree,” Trump had told the nation on the day of Kirk’s assassination, at a perhaps more self-aware moment. “This kind of rhetoric is directly responsible for the terrorism that we’re seeing in our country today.”

Trump and his allies regularly accuse their opponents of anti-Americanism—”I really believe they hate our country,” Trump said in July. Trump’s 2016 Democratic opponent, Hillary Clinton, dismissed her foes as a “basket of deplorables,” characterizing them as “racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamophobic—you name it.” As a presidential candidate in 2008, Barack Obama sniffed at many small-town dwellers as “bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them.”

No matter which of the big political parties wins national office, around half the people over whom the victors exercise power know they’re governed by people who hate them—and they return the favor.

Among Americans, partisan hostility is intensifying. “About three-quarters (73 percent) of voters who identify themselves as Republican agree that ‘Democrats are generally bullies who want to impose their political beliefs on those who disagree,'” a poll by the University of Chicago’s Institute of Politics found in 2022. “An almost identical percentage of Democrats (74 percent) express that view of Republicans.”

I can understand the opposing of views but these days it has gone so much further…..it is entering into the twilight zone of hatred.

This cannot continue on this path or it will be curtains for sure.

Canonization Of Charlie

Warning:  I wanted to move on from this saga but the media has made that impossible….this is my thoughts on this whole thing and I will probably go off into some rants that may offend some readers that have a dislike for harsh words….if the reader is one of those people than I suggest that they move on from this post and go to TikTok and watch some funny cat videos.

Donny and his silly ilk are painting Charlie in a light he does not deserve….especially by MAGA supporters….its is fucking bullshit.

But Kirk was no hero. The record is clear. If Kirk was a victim of a pernicious culture of violence in America, it must also be acknowledged that he was an author of that culture.

His primary accomplishment in life was to foment hatred and division across the United States. He blamed all of America’s ills on the left, and cheered violent attacks on Democrats. He fought against equal rights for many Americans; some of his last words were condemning women’s reproductive freedoms. He promoted America’s gun pathology (Ironic isn’t it), and asserted the death of innocents was an acceptable cost for that culture.

https://www.thedailybeast.com/why-magas-canonization-of-charlie-kirk-is-truly-monstrous/

A ‘martyr’?

Charlie was not what I would call a compassionate person….he proved it every time he opened his mouth….

One of Charlie Kirk’s most controversial statements comes from a Turning Point USA Faith event Q&A (starting around the 1:13:00 mark) in April 2023 where he was fielding a question about gun rights:

“It’s worth it to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year, so that we can have the Second Amendment to protect our other God-given rights… That is a prudent deal. It is rational.”

On the October 12, 2022, episode of his podcast (around 36:40), Charlie Kirk stated:

“I can’t stand the word empathy, actually. I think empathy is a made-up, new age term that does a lot of damage.”

During a TPUSA Faith event on March 21, 2025, Charlie Kirk criticized birth control (around 36:50), stating:

“…birth control really screws up female brains, by the way. Every single one of you needs to make sure that your loved ones are not on birth control. It increases depression, anxiety, and suicidal ideation. Birth control is the number one prescribed medication for young ladies under the age of 25. They will give young ladies birth control for pimples, for acne, to control their moods, and their period. It is awful, it’s terrible, and it creates very angry and bitter young ladies and young women.”

Just a few of Charlie’s words of wisdom (that is also sarcasm)….

The MAGA silliness and even the puke spilling from Donny’s useless mouth praise this worthless POS….

Imagine that President Donald Trump actively wanted to encourage radical right-wing groups and “lone wolf” individuals to wage open violent warfare on anyone they deem a leftist anywhere in America. If Trump wanted to send that precise message, he could hardly do much better than the words he actually did deliver on Fox and Friends on Friday morning.

Look at what the president said just after the assassination of Kirk:

For years those on the radical left have compared wonderful Americans like Charlie to Nazis. This kind of rhetoric is directly responsible for the terrorism that we’re seeing in our country and must stop right now. My administration will find each and every one of those who contributed to this atrocity and to other political violence, including the organizations that fund it and support it, as well as those who go after our judges and law enforcement officials.

As Jonathan Chait notes, here Trump treats political violence as if it only exists on one side of the spectrum. I’d add something else: I’m unaware of any other recent president explicitly vowing to unleash the power of the American state on a vast, inchoate ideological group in quite this way.

Trump’s wording in this prewritten speech is deliberate: He says his administration will target everyone it can find who contributed to the assassination of Kirk. The clear message is that anyone who can be blamed for Kirk’s death even speciously and pretextually is now subject to retribution by the full force of the government and Trump’s security services. Note that this includes liberal-left “organizations” as well.

“The radicals on the left are the problem,” he continued, “and they’re vicious and they’re horrible and they’re politically savvy.”

https://newrepublic.com/article/200410/trump-issued-unnerving-threat-liberals

The fucking dipshit we call ‘president’ is doing what he did for those treasonous bastards on 06 January giving them permission to take the law in the own hands.

It seems clear that Trump isn’t interested in turning down the temperature on political tensions in the United States, and he’s just given the go-ahead to right-wing radicals to take matters into their own hands.

Within hours of Kirk’s death and without knowing any information about the shooter, Trump blamed the “radical left” and their rhetoric for political violence by “demonizing those with whom you disagree day after day, year after year in the most hateful and despicable way possible.”

Radicals on the Left?  Yes they are some radicals but so far not one of them has taken up to assassination and besides has any of these dickless morons mentioned the the shooter was an independent that comes from a Republican family? (Of course for that would defeat Donny’s effort to turn this situation into the emergency he needs to go beyond)

Just for the MAGA supporters that think they are all that….Democrats are NOT radical Left.  Democrats are not socialists.  To believe otherwise makes them fucking mindless assholes.

Apparently none of the mindless herd does see any problem with the lameass rhetoric of their leaders just as they still defend those pricks on 06 January.

None of what they are saying or doing will solve the problem of these assholes and their guns.  And what kind of leaders shoots off a dumbass mouth in this way?

I have had about a fucking enough of these cocksuckers and their lies and actions….

We can all look for some sort of ‘Reichstag’ fire moment coming.

Makes me so proud to be an American.  (And that is fucking sarcasm douche bag).

More thoughts on this propaganda.

I am under no obligation to mourn….but in this case I will mourn not for the person but for the nation he and his ilk have tried so hard to destroy.

Enough said!

If you were offended all I can say is you were warned.

Hate Groups Decline

One problem with our society was the growth of hate groups like KKK, neo-Nazis, Proud Boys, etc during Donny’s first term and his mash-up to his second term….but since his re-election there seems to be a decline in the hate groups…..that could be good news but I do not believe that it is all that good.

Why?

The number of white nationalist, hate, and anti-government groups around the US dropped slightly in 2024—not due to shrinking influence, but rather the opposite. In its annual “Year in Hate and Extremism” report, released Thursday, the Southern Poverty Law Center said it counted 1,371 hate and extremist groups, a 5% decline from the previous year, per the AP. In 2023, “record numbers” of white nationalist and anti-LGBTQ groups were found.

  • Hate groups: Last year, there were 533 active hate groups in the US. These include groups who express views that are anti-LBGTQ+, anti-immigrant, antisemitic, and anti-Muslim. This number has been steadily declining since reaching a historic high of 1,021 in 2018.
  • Anti-government groups: Last year, they totaled 838, an increase from recent years, according to the law center based in Montgomery, Alabama. These groups see the federal government as “tyrannical” and include militias and self-described sovereign citizens.
  • A rising influence: Male supremacy continues to gain influence as well. The SPLC documented seven new male supremacist hate groups, making the total 16. Their rhetoric espouses misogyny and strict gender roles. “I’m not sure it’s a direct result of the candidacy of Kamala Harris,” says Rachel Carroll Rivas, interim director of the SPLC’s Intelligence Project. However, SPLC researchers went into white supremacist chatrooms during the election and found “intense vilification, the claiming of demonization of Harris, as well as just the pushing of the idea falsely that women would not be qualified” to run for president.
  • ‘White Christian’ angle: Some people on the far right have also pushed a belief that white Christian culture is being threatened by a “demographic crisis,” including fewer births.
  • Why the downtick? The SPLC attributes the decline in the number of hate groups to a lesser sense of urgency to organize, as the groups’ beliefs have infiltrated politics, education, and society in general. Some of the ways they’ve achieved this are through pushing for bans on diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives and book bans, the report says.

No need to join if your biases and hatreds are being addressed by the leader of the not so free world.

The “Peak Of Ferocity”

The voter of this great land has gone to the edge of cruelty….we are witnessing something that has happened before but we choose to ignore the implications…

At its core, this culture strips working people, the poor, Black and Brown communities, and the marginalized of dignity, hope, and the right to a decent life. Though cruelty has long been woven into the fabric of American history, Trump’s second administration will wield it as an instrument of governance—hollowing out social bonds, eroding moral compassion, and suffocating collective resistance. In its place, it will stage an endless array of brutal spectacles, a politics of suffering in which fear and violence are both the means and the message.

Trumpism is not an aberration but the logical extension of a neoliberal system that thrives on hierarchy, disposability, and fear. The destruction of public goods accelerates the emergence of what Etienne Balibar calls “the transition from the social state to the penal state”—where repression replaces care, and policing takes the place of welfare. The gutting of federal aid programs, the assault on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives, and the defunding of institutions that support the most vulnerable are not incidental; they are central to the neoliberal strategy of dispossession. In the age of Trump, cruelty becomes an organizing principle of violence as is evident in homegrown notions of fascism that define citizenship in racist inclusive terms for white Christians only, sanctions genocide in Gaza, promotes mass poverty, and supports the ecological destruction of the planet. What we are witnessing as Pankaj Mishra notes is the emergence of a culture convulsed in hatred and rancor matched by an ongoing process of dehumanization and a “retreat into grandiose fantasies of omnipotence.”  Trump’s presence in American politics appears as the current endpoint in which hate, bigotry, and sanctioned ruthlessness “have reached a new peak of ferocity.”

https://www.counterpunch.org/2025/02/17/trumps-reign-of-cruelty/

And now people are asking how did we get to this point?

That is a easy answer….we got here because the American voter is lazy and is easily influenced by bullshit.

President Trump and his MAGA Republicans and their forces are smashing American democracy, the Constitution, the rule of law, the institutions and norms. Trump has enacted over 50 executive orders since Jan. 20, the most in a president’s first 100 days in more than 40 years. Some of the most egregious ones are blatantly unconstitutional and violate current law. It has only been three weeks since Trump returned to power; these are the good times compared to what will come next.

Be very wary of any political observer or other public voice — or anyone else — who suggests that Trump and his MAGA movement are losing, in disarray, ineffective or somehow confused or weak. Such people are seeing what they want to see and not what is actually happening. Donald Trump and his MAGA movement’s strategy is chaos. Moreover, that chaos is in service to their shock and awe strategy to end America’s pluralistic democracy and to replace it with a form of autocracy if not outright fascism modeled on Viktor Orbán’s Hungary or Vladimir Putin’s Russia with Trump as de facto leader for life. As Harold Meyerson observes in The American Prospect, “As to the wider world, if we ever sought to be that beacon on the hill, we’re now the bully on the hill. America, Trumpified.”

https://www.salon.com/2025/02/09/donald-chaos-strategy-why-americans-continue-to-fall-for-his-game-of-distraction/

Hatred is another reason for Trump prayed on the fears and biases of voters to gain the upper hand.

Will this trend ever end?

Terrorists Are No Longer Needed

There was a time when the Islamophobes needed a terrorist attack or the threat there of for them to spread their hatred to the rest of the Americans that fear whatever it is they fear.

Those days are gone!

The Right Wing has sanctuary cities to demonize……and still have immigrants to hate…..without an attack somewhere they hit all the old stand-bys…..

Fearless Fosdick decided to retweet some racist bullshit….. President Donald Trump’s decision to retweet a series of anti-Muslim videos from a British far-right account.  Then afterward his press secretary defended the president saying……”Whether it is a real video, the threat is real,” Sanders told a small group of reporters after appearing on Fox News. “That is what the President is talking about, that is what the President is focused on is dealing with those real threats, and those are real no matter how you look at it.”

When pressed on whether it matters if the video is real, Sanders said reporters were “focusing on the wrong thing.”
“The threat is real,” she said, later adding that “the threat needs to be addressed. The threat has to be talked about and that is what the President is doing in bringing that up.”
So you see terrorists are no longer needed in this country to help drive the Islamophobia……but in case you still cannot see it……
When asked by reporters on Wednesday about President Trump’s retweets of anti-Muslim videos, White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said, “what the President is talking about is the need for national security, the need for military spending.”
Her talking points are out of date. The videos are not about “national security” at all. The first supposedly depicts a Muslim migrant beating up a Dutch boy on crutches. (The assailant may have been neither a migrant nor Muslim). The second supposedly shows a Muslim man destroying a statue of the Virgin Mary. It appears to have been filmed in Syria. The third apparently shows an “Islamist mob” pushing “a teenage boy off a roof.” It comes from Egypt. None involves terrorism against the United States or even Europe. None could have been prevented by more “military spending.”
As disgusting as Fearless Fosdick was by retweet these worthless turds of lies…. the outrage was greater in the UK than it was here in the US.  Did you hear anyone from Congress criticize….from the GOP that is?
That is just so sad on so many levels.
WE live in the so-called “Digital Age” and social media is very conducive for the spread of lies and hate….and NO one does it better than Fearless Fosdick……
For many Americans who woke up to President Trump’s tweets Wednesday morning, these videos seemed unduly hateful, and in the case of the video of the boy on the crutches, even fraudulent. (According to Dutch authorities, the assailant was born and raised in The Netherlands.) But for researchers of propaganda, the historical parallels within the videos were more chilling than anything else. There are, they say, just two differences between the German caricatures and the President’s tweets. First, the social media age has given Trump more readers on Twitter than the Der Stürmer or Der Untermensch ever had. And second, we have no way of knowing how this chapter in history will end
Don’t let yourself be fooled by these types of people and their followers……and anyone that retweets their crap is a follower…..they spew nothing but hate…..every word they utter are lies and every thought is hateful.

No Argument? Spew Hate!

Some degree of hate has always been there in the political realm…..but in the last few years it has ticked up to the point that it is NO longer amusing.  Surely you have seen it also….you know libs are brain dead……conservs are retards…….so on and so forth….yada….yada…..

I remember back during the days of George 1….then Clinton and on to GW……everyone one of them was setting the country on a course of ruin……but I did not hate them….I did question their sanity at times over the policies they pursued……but from me there was NO hate.

Back in those days I was writing endlessly to the Letters to the Editor….so many in fact that they tried to limit my letters to 2 a month…..so being a devious little turd…..I started written under several pen names to get my views out there…..even in those days right wingers hated…..they would insult, as usual, but seldom had any ideas what they were writing about…….then I found blogging……and dammit I found a whole new dimension of hate……and as usual insults with NO actual debate just flinging insults……as far as I am concerned insults and hatred are NOT an argument……just illustrates the little intelligence the person actually is grasping……

I seems that hatred is becoming the norm instead of the exception……..

(Newser) – Had it up to here with the president and both parties on the Hill? You’re a “hater,” according to a new poll, and odds are, if there were an election today, you’d vote for a Republican in your House district. Some 72% of haters would choose a GOP rep today, the Washington Post-ABC News poll finds. The proportion who’d go Democrat? Only 14%, the Post reports. Some 34% of haters are Republicans, while 38% are independents with Republican leanings. Some 71% are against ObamaCare. And they’re a powerful group, covering a third of voters, up from 28% in 2010. In short, per Sean Sullivan and Scott Clement: Even if Republicans haven’t had the best year, “these voters will come home in the end.”

Okay let’s talk bout the hatred for the prez, shall we?

Surely one has heard all the moronic ramblings of hatred……Obama is a socialist (this shows a serious lack of intelligence)…..the prez is gay or a Muslim or born in Kenya….even regurgitation that is is a dictator……these are all bullshit reasons….you know it and I know it….people use these because they are afraid to spout the real reason it could cost them in votes or cash or celeb status…..but there was one person that spoke the truth…….

There are probably all kinds of great responses a teacher can make to a student who says he wants to grow up to be president. “We don’t need another black president” would not be among them. A white teacher in Fairfield, Ohio, has been suspended without pay and faces dismissal after doing just that, reports the Journal-News. The local board of education took action after four students who overheard the conversation backed up the allegations against veteran freshman teacher Gil Voigt. The board took their word over Voigt’s, who said he got misquoted, reports the Cincinnati Inquirer. He can still appeal the ruling. “He was talking to some students and said some things that were racially insensitive,” says the school superintendent. “We just felt this teacher had crossed the line.” It probably didn’t help Voigt’s case that he had been disciplined in 2008 for making an “inappropriate racial comment.”

This guy is a twat….but at least he is honest on the reason for his hatred of Obama……very few are that honest…….maybe if they were we would take them a little seriously………

2010 Anal-Ocity #23

There are many anal statements and then there are statements that come straight from someone’s ass……I have been pointing out that the “New South” is nothing of the sort….the hatred for anyone with brown skin is just veiled in some vague policy rift…..and the newsest anal-ocity comes from South Carolina GOP state senator Jake Knotts is under fire from his own party after using a racial slur to describe GOP gubernatorial candidate Nikki Haley and President Obama:

“We already got one raghead in the White House, we don’t need a raghead in the governor’s mansion,”

This will be played off as an isolated incident…but it is NOT…it is isolated only because more in-depth reporting on the hatred is lacking….what this moron said is the normal rather than the exception….of course, this pinhead prick will apologize and say it was taken out of context….it was NOT!  It is the typical white hatred for anything or anyone that is non-white…..

UPDATE:

It sounds like South Carolina State. Sen. Jake Knotts’ “raghead” comments last night are even worse than first reported.

Not only did he refer to Republican gubernatorial candidate Nikki Haley as a “raghead” during an internet political radio show taped in a bar — Knotts called her a “f—ing raghead,” according to a report from the Free-Times.

“She’s a f—ing raghead,” Knotts reportedly said.

Now this a/hole has moved to the top of the anal-ocity nominees for the Assie Award at the end of the year……

When Did The Hate Begin?

Professor’s Classroom

Subject:  American History/Politics

Sen. Kennedy died the other day and I was surfing the web for stories and posts and I found that many right wing sites were filled with stories about his past, the drinking, the women and that damn bridge.  I thought just how moronic this was…why?….the man did a lot for the people of this country from kids health to civil rights to cancer research, on and on….and yes he made many mistakes and had many victories, but regardless what you thought of the man personally….to think only of his failures and mistakes is just pathetic.

When did the US become such a hot bed of hate?  When did American society move from a society of the poeple to a society of vile, disgusting people?

There will always be some form of hate in the US, whether it is racial hatred or gender hatred or whatever…but the hate that I question specifically is the political hate or also fondly known as partisanship.

My question is:  When did the vile and deep hatred of the opposing party begin in Washington?  Good question, right?

Political hatred or extreme partisanship has been festering for decades in Washington and among our different political parties, but the vile, disgusting and festering zit we know today came to a head in the early to mid 90’s.

It began in earnest when Bill Clinton was elected as president after it more or less hijacked the GOP for its own …his life and attitudes became a focus of the far wing of the GOP…this revolt brought the likes of the Newt to power and mouth organs like Tom DeLay and the hate served as a platform that swept conserv Repubs into control of the Congress in 1994.

The hatred played well with mid America and because it did many conserv jumped unto the bashing bandwagon to gain political advantage….and as they attacked liberals the tone became more and more vile and hate filled.  I am old enough to remember the days after Watergate and I cannot remember this much hate and name calling done by anyone.  That dark corner of America history was handled with intelligence and like adults.  Today’s hatred and handling of issues is like a couple of 7 year olds fighting with each other at day care.

Because the hatred was working and working very well the misinformation and lies became a constant part of the attacks on the opposition.  It began with the antics of Clinton and he gave his opponents lots to use against him and slowly as the Washington claptrap got louder and louder the people picked up on the hatred and it has snowballed to where it is today.  All the hatred began as opposition to a person and now it has morphed into hatred of ideas and those who work with them.  It is damn silly!

There comes a time when our elected officials have to start acting like adults.  Right now one party has lost so much support that it may NEVER return to its past glory.  One day an adult will step forward and start whacking these kids on the pee-pee.

It is suppose to be about what is best for the people of the country….not about who said what and why.  Demonizing is NOT the answer to our problems….all it does is waste time and money and accomplishes NOTHING but a continuation of hate.

Maybe the pea brains on the far right are correct in using Jefferson’s quote….but it should be the people rebelling against ALL politicians who are not working on their behalf…I mean both of the parties….not one of these stuffy pricks has Americans in mind as they go about their daily spewing of hatred.
