Closing Thought–06Nov20

We wait….and wait…..and wait…..

5 states are still in the “Too Close To Call” category…..and it has been this way for 2 days…..is there a plan to use this to drive the news cycle….just asking.

I did not vote for Joe Biden!

Let me explain……Biden is a bad candidate even by progressive standards. He doesn’t support Medicare for All. He is pro-fracking and refuses to commit to even the minimal reforms of the Green New Deal. As part of the Obama administration, he supported record high detainments and deportations of immigrants who were already within the United States. He masterminded Plan Columbia, which has been described as the Central American equivalent of the 1994 Crime Bill (i.e. incredibly damaging).  He supports the police, Zionism, and bombing people in the Middle East. Joe Biden is no good. But most people I know agree with all of this, yet are voting for him anyway.

I just cannot go against my principles and vote for someone that does not embrace the ideals that I support….even to rid ourselves of a slug like Trump…..without principles we would be NO better than the spineless coward in the White House Now.

By voting for Biden I would be turning my back on people that are struggling with poverty, health issues, the reality of living in this society….we can always try to justify it by stating that “at least he, Biden, is better than Trump”……is that true?

If the daily lives of Americans do not improve then that slogan and/or belief is just a lie told ourselves…..and is NO better than the lies told to us by Trump.

In case you are wondering….I did not vote Libertarian or Green…..I voted with a write-in…..and will continue to do so until the Dems learn to be a Party of the people.

A final thought…..all progressives in Congress have won re-election….and yet the DNC wants you to think that they are dragging the Party down…..sorry but old fart ideas and candidates are dragging the Party down…..time for the Democrats to replace the dinosaurs in the Party leadership with fresh leaders and ideas.  We already have one Party that lives in the past and it is called the GOP…we need a fresh Party of ideas and actions….that looks to the future.

Democrats Have Screwed Themselves

Will they or won’t they…..win the presidency in the 2020 election…..I have always stated that the Dems have great ideas but cannot translate those ideas into action…..for instance……In the midst of a killer pandemic and mass unemployment, the Democrats could have offered the nation a universal health care plan, a moratorium on evictions and a guaranteed basic income. Instead, they believed that the key to victory over Trump was to meld neoliberal economics with a neoconservative foreign policy.

If Biden wins and the Senate stays in GOP hands then any “Progressive” ideas will be dashed on the rocks of progress…there will be NO minimum wage increase……nor any substantial action on climate change……health care will be the same f**ked up mess it was in the Obama years…..I really do not see much happening with criminal justice reform either…..just a Congress that goes through the exercise so they can claim they are working….

And after “Progressives” broke for Biden….and they will get nothing in return…..my thought is screw them!….from this point on keep progressives ideals in the forefront and stop showing your lack of spine.

All in all nothing about a Biden win should be applauded….other than a change in the executive bathroom in the White House….however the Dem strategists are making like the election was all blue skies and unicorns…..spin at its best!

It was a disaster……Dems lost Latino voters…..Black voters…..lost female votes as well…..gained a few white men…..

But there were plenty of complaints to go around—over faulty polling, Republican attack ads, and more—as expectations had been raised sky high for election night gains and that made the setbacks all the more disorienting. Rather than bolstering their majority, as planned, Democrats lost a handful of freshman lawmakers who had just won in a 2018 midterm election backlash against the president. Among the shortcomings lawmakers complained about in the Thursday call:

  • They focused too narrowly on health care, when voters were also worried about the economy.
  • They failed to fight back when Republicans labeled them “socialists” aligned with the party’s most liberal firebrands.
  • They didn’t knock on doors to meet voters, focusing instead on phone calls, digital outreach, and TV ads, due to the health risks of campaigning during the pandemic.
  • They lost Latino voters in some places, and white, working class men in others.
  • They did not pass more COVID aid through Congress when Americans needed help most.

Other Democrats argued it was always going to be difficult to defend the House majority. It was won in 2018 with more women and minority candidates in history, reaching into districts Trump had won in 2016. Holding onto those seats would be tougher once the president was back on the ballot. Democratic freshman Rep. Elissa Slotkin, who won re-election in Michigan, did so with a more narrow margin than she did in 2018. “With President Trump on the ballot, it just drove enormous turnout that was almost impossible to surmount” in some areas, she said.

“We did not win every battle but we did win the war,” Pelosi said.

Winning the war would be a livable minimum wage…..health care for all….climate actions…..but none of those ill be possible because these dinosaurs control the Party and the Party owes too much to money to be effective……oh Nancy you guys have failed miserably!

Closing Thought–05Nov20

As we await the final tally for the 2020 election……there are a few things that need to be said…..and we wait.

A few thoughts about the election as of 05Nov20……

Dems have lost a block of Hispanic votes thanks to Biden…..a bloc that they have depended on for decades to help put them over the top….they have kissed that bloc good-bye……

Hispanic voters per early 2020 exit polls:

Florida:

2016: Clinton +27
2020: Biden +8

Georgia:
2016: Clinton +40
2020: Biden +25

Ohio:
2016: Clinton +41
2020: Biden +24

The results from Starr County, Texas, the most Latino county in the United States (96% Latino) and the second poorest in Texas, with a poverty rate of 33%. In 2016, it went for Clinton by 60 percent. In 2020, Biden won it by only 5 percent, with >98% reporting.

Not to worry…the pundits are trying to spin the loss of Hispanic votes as something positive……it is NOT!

Here is a another thought for you……Trump, at 63,085,022 votes, has already amassed more votes than in 2016.

According to the early exit polls, Trump did better in 2020 with every race and gender except …. white men!

Change from 2016:

White Men -5
White Women +2
Black Men +4
Black Women +4
Latino Men +3
Latino Women +3
Other +5

So all the Black pundits were WRONG when they stated that Afro-Americans were breaking large for the Dem candidate….I questioned their analyses……https://lobotero.com/2020/11/02/the-2020-black-vote/

Think about those numbers carefully…..even those ethnic groups he demonizes voted for him…..what are the Dems missing?

Remember the Lincoln Project that the MSM was giving all that airtime to…..they were clever and made little to NO difference in the vote….

The Lincoln Project raised $67 million. Republican Voters Against Trump raised another $10 million. 93% of Republicans voted for Trump in 2020, up from 90% in 2016.

All the cash spent the Lincoln Project proved that there were NO “Biden Republicans”…..can we put these aging GOP strategists to bed now?

They made NO difference.

Time for the Dems to get their shit together….if it had not been for Covid then Trump would have laid waste to Joe Biden……I told my readers that he was not a strong candidate….he will bring nothing to DC.

Once again the Dems gave the voter a dud (as I have said all along)….they did so in 2016 and 2020 is NO different.

The Dems cannot blame the other candidates for their poor showing this time around…..The Democrats can’t blame the Greens this time, having gotten them kicked off the ballot in key states. Perhaps they’ll blame the Libertarians for not pulling enough votes from Trump.

Early in the primary season Biden told the young to vote for someone else if they did not like his policies…..and guess what…..they did just that.

I pity the Dem candidate in 2024 if a new message is not located…..it will be a massacre…..the DNC is a dinosaur that needs to change or die.  Dems need new leadership…..the old farts in there now have NO idea what to do in elections.

…..”the exit polls found that voters are far more concerned about policy issues than personality.”   Maybe that will drive the Dems to find their message if not then they will continue to lose voters.

Just a few of my closing thoughts on this day….more updates to follow if needed….

Let me reiterate….”Better Angels” my ass!

Russia Is Doing It

While we wait for the final tally and a candidate is pronounced as the president-elect…….I thought I would give my readers a few posts to take their mind off their agonizing wait…..

For 4 years we have been told that Russia has been at the heart of the election hacking……day after day the MSM has pointed numerous fingers at Russia…..and with little actual evidence other than”we told you so”.

I am by far no fan of Putin…but that does not mean that he can be blamed for everything that goes wrong in this country…..usually problems of our own making…..

To illustrate how easy it is to blame Russia with little actual proof….

How do you call something “Russian disinformation” when you don’t have evidence it is? Let’s count the ways.

We don’t know a whole lot about how the New York Post story about Hunter Biden got into print. There are some reasons to think the material is genuine (including its cache of graphic photos and some apparent limited confirmation from people on the email chains), but in terms of sourcing, anything is possible. This material could have been hacked by any number of actors, and shopped for millions (as Time has reported), and all sorts of insidious characters – including notorious Russian partisans like Andrei Derkach – could have been behind it.

None of these details are known, however, which hasn’t stopped media companies from saying otherwise. Most major outlets began denouncing the story as foreign propaganda right away and haven’t stopped. A quick list of the creative methods seen lately of saying, “We don’t know, but we know!”:

https://taibbi.substack.com/p/10-ways-to-call-something-russian

And if you just want to blame someone you can always rent a Russian to vent your propaganda toward….by renting one (this is satire)

The election of 2020 is in the bag and whatever results that are tabulated then there will be blame for loss and the best thing to do is blame Russia.

And the count goes on…..

2020 Election Update

The election is sucking all the energy out of the news cycle…..the media has finally able to justify their existence…..good for them.

Not much has changed from yesterday….other than Biden is inching closer to the magic number of 270 in Electoral votes…..

Joe Biden has flipped another one of the Blue Wall battleground states, putting him within reach of 270 Electoral College votes, The AP called the Michigan race for Biden early Wednesday evening. The Washington Post, CNN, Fox, and other outlets had already projected Biden as the winner, while the Trump campaign sued to halt counting in the state. The narrow win was the result of extremely high turnout in Detroit and its northern suburbs, where Hillary Clinton struggled to get out the vote in 2016, the New York Times reports. The AP says it called Michigan for Biden because he had a “70,000-vote lead on Wednesday evening, a margin over Trump of about 1.3 percentage points,” and the votes still to be counted were from overwhelmingly Democratic areas.

The AP now puts Biden, who won Wisconsin earlier Wednesday, on 264 Electoral College votes to 214 for Trump, meaning another win in any of the battleground states yet to be called could give Biden the presidency—including Nevada, which has six Electoral College votes and voted for Clinton in 2016. Trump tweeted Wednesday that his campaign has “claimed, for Electoral College purposes,” Pennsylvania, Georgia, and North Carolina. He added that “we hereby claim” Michigan if “there was a large number of secretly dumped ballots.” As with several other Trump tweets Wednesday, Twitter put the tweet behind a warning that it contains disputed and potentially misleading information.

Of course we all knew that the Trump enablers would try some sort of legal trick if they thought they were losing……and they did just that….

President Trump’s campaign says it has filed lawsuits trying to halt the vote counts in battlegrounds Michigan and Pennsylvania.

The Trump campaign’s lawsuit to temporarily stop the vote count in Pennsylvania claims there is a lack of “transparency.” Justin Clark, Trump’s deputy campaign manager, said in a statement Wednesday that the campaign is “suing to stop Democrat election officials from hiding the ballot counting and processing from our Republican poll observers.” He said the campaign wants “to temporarily halt counting until there is meaningful transparency and Republicans can ensure all counting is done above board and by the law.” Clark also said the campaign would seek to intervene in an ongoing Supreme Court case involving the deadline for receiving mail-in ballots.

These are the states that are too close to call….so far…..

Alaska—Trump leads: The Anchorage Daily News reports the long wait has just begun in the state, where at least 122,233 absentee and early votes won’t be tallied until the Nov. 10 to Nov. 18 period, per state law. That count will increase as ballots continue to arrive in the mail over the next few days. Per the paper, “If turnout finishes near what it was four years ago, the late-counted ballots may account for one in three of all votes cast this year.” As of noon, the AP reports 45% of the vote has been tallied, with Trump up 63% to 33%.

  • Georgia—Trump leads: The AP describes this one as still too close to call, with roughly 4% of ballots yet to be counted, including mailed ballots from two counties where Biden is ahead: metro Atlanta’s DeKalb County and Chatham County, which is home to Savannah. As of 11:30am it was 50.5% Trump to 48.3% Biden, with Trump ahead by roughly 100,000 votes. The Georgia secretary of state hopes to have results by the end of the day, per the Journal Constitution.
  • Nevada—Biden leads: It was neck and neck in the state as of early Wednesday morning, with 67% of votes in and Biden up by less than 8,000 votes. Per the Las Vegas Review-Journal, all in-person votes have been tallied; late-arriving mail and provisional ballots have not. The secretary of state’s office tweeted early Wednesday that the next update would come at 9am Thursday. The state indicated later Wednesday that more results could be released before then, reports the New York Times.
  • North Carolina—Trump leads: Trump is leading by 76,000 votes, but the AP reports there are still about 200,000 mail-in ballots left to count, and mail ballots postmarked by Nov. 3 don’t have to be counted until Nov. 12. Per the Charlotte Observer, “The final margin will come down to uncounted absentee votes and provisional ballots,” and as of Tuesday there were almost 137,000 absentee ballots outstanding, though some of those people could have voted in person or decided not to vote. Biden has taken two-thirds of the absentee vote already counted.
  • Pennsylvania—Trump leads: Trump has a 266,000-vote lead, down from 500,000 earlier Wednesday, and there are roughly 1.1 million votes left to be counted. Most of those are mail ballots, which have favored Biden. Per the Philadelphia Inquirer, “Most of those remaining ballots come from Philadelphia, its four suburban collar counties … and Allegheny County, home to Pittsburgh. … Those votes will strongly skew toward Biden.”

And the count goes on……

2020 Elections Final Thoughts

Closing Thought–04Nov20

My final thoughts of the day and of this election…..

First the words of our dear leader at 0230 hrs on 04Nov20……

President Trump addressed a crowd that appeared to be largely maskless inside the White House just before 2:30am Wednesday, noting as he came out, “This is without question the latest news conference I have ever had.” He thanked Americans for their support and quickly rolled out his oft-repeated and baseless claim about election fraud: “Millions and millions of people voted for us tonight, and a very sad group of people is trying to disenfranchise that group of people, and we won’t stand for it.” He went on to essentially declare victory in Georgia and North Carolina, which have not yet been called, and suggested Pennsylvania and Michigan, which also have not yet been called, will easily go his way.

He also suggested multiple times that his team had been preparing for a big victory celebration that, he implied, had to be called off due to Democratic interference; he accused them of going to court in order to steal the election there. “This is a fraud on the American public,” he said in extensive concluding remarks. “This is an embarrassment to our country. We were getting ready to win this election, frankly, we did win this election. … So our goal now is to ensure the integrity, for the good of this nation, this is a very big moment. This is a major fraud on our nation. We want the law to be used in a proper manner, so we’ll be going to the US Supreme Court. We want all voting to stop. We don’t want them to find any ballots at 4 o’clock in the morning and add them to the list. It’s a very sad moment. … We will win this, and as far as I’m concerned, we already have won it.”

Your typical fare from a psychopathic leader that wants to try and sway the count…..maybe there is a spot at Arkham Asylum in Gotham.

There was NO Blue Wave that had been predicted by so many pundits.

The Lincoln Project was a bit effective but a total lack of support from Repubs….so will Moderate Repubs turn to Trump as their savior now?

Basically the country is a 50-50 split between authoritarianism and democratic ideals…..tribalism is here to stay (at least for awhile).

Most Americans do not give a fig about how Milwaukee voted….we want to know who is gonna be the president not how downtown Chicago voted…all that crap is just filler to justify their existence as a news source.

If this is the best the Democratic Party can do then it is time for it to evaluate itself and look for a message that the American people want to hear….so far theirs sucks!  They, Dems, lost seats in the House and even lost a seat in the Senate….a seat they could not afford to lose.

One thing that will be certain….the myth of 2 Americas is NO myth…the divisions will remain….the hatred will remain…..the demonizing will remain…..there will be very little bi-partisanship……the GOP has settled on its true nature…..the Dems are still looking for that message that has eluded them for 20 years.

For all those voters that thought the US would find their “better angels”….sorry they did not there never was any “better angels”…..it is going to be a long 4 years.

2020 Election Update

As usual there is a slower tempo after the larger states are called…..and so far it still is looking like a draw in the voting…..

The results according to NBC News…..

The updated Electoral College is……Biden–224 Trump–213

The US Senate Dems–46   Repub–47

US House Dems–227  Repubs–209

Now for the AP predictions…

(He also won one of Nebraska’s 5 electoral college votes.)

  • No calls: States where the results could not yet be called include closely watched Pennsylvania, along with Michigan, Georgia, North Carolina, Wisconsin, Nevada, and Alaska. One of Maine’s electoral votes is also yet to be determined.

Now the Senate……

  • Alabama: Democratic Sen. Doug Jones lost to Republican Tommy Tuberville, flipping a seat for Republicans.
  • Arizona (special election): GOP Sen. Martha McSally lost to Democrat Mark Kelly in the race to fill the seat once held by John McCain.
  • Colorado: Democrat John Hickenlooper defeated GOP Sen. Cory Gardner, flipping a seat for Democrats.

  • Georgia (special election): GOP Sen. Kelly Loeffler will face Democrat Raphael Warnock in a runoff election in January.
  • Iowa: GOP Sen. Joni Ernst prevailed against Democrat Theresa Greenfield.

  • Texas: GOP Sen. John Cornyn defeated Democrat MJ Hegar.

In other races, Democrat incumbents won in Virginia, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Illinois, Delaware, New Jersey, Illinois, Oregon, Minnesota, and New Hampshire. GOP incumbents prevailed in Mississippi, Oklahoma, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Idaho, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Kentucky, where Sen. Mitch McConnell won a seventh term. In Tennessee, an open seat was won by Republican candidate Bill Hagerty. The GOP’s Cynthia Lummis won another open seat in Wyoming. Democrat Ben Ray Lujan won an open seat in New Mexico.

The House results so far……

  • Nebraska’s 2nd district. GOP Rep. Donald Bacon prevailed against Democrat challenger Kara Eastman.

Marjorie Taylor Greene, a Republican who expressed support for QAnon, won an open seat in Georgia’s 14th district. In New York City’s 14th district. In New York, Democrat Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez won one of the most expensive House races. (In fact, all four members of “the squad” won re-election “handily,” per the Guardian.) Republicans flipped two Miami-area House seats, with Maria Elvira Salazar defeating Rep. Donna Shalala in Florida’s 27th district and Republican Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos Gimenez defeating Rep. Debbie Mucarsel-Powell in the 26th.

If you want to see for yourself and not take my word then by all means…..https://apps.npr.org/liveblogs/20201103-election/

Well the biggest news is that the pundit dream and predictions of a Blue Wave was barely a short tide ripple….but it is still fun to listen to the Dems say how happy they are with the outcome….as small as it is….what pathetic little slugs.

Updated Mississippi news…..medical marijuana has been voted to be legalized….

Medical marijuana is coming to Mississippi under Initiative 65, the more-expansive and detailed option voters considered.

About two-thirds of voters said they wanted to allow a medical marijuana program. And about 75%of respondents chose Initiative 65, the measure that qualified for the ballot earlier this year on the strength of citizen signatures.

Once again we learned that polling is about as useless as screen doors on submarines….even with the improvements from 2016 and yet they are still completely wrong….so why do we keep using them on a daily basis as a conversation driver for the media?

Maybe time to re-define who is Latino or to cease using the term all together…..because the one using these days is not accurate….especially when it comes to Florida…..and the Rio Grande valley…..

Partisanship is what we will have for a generation…..and the tribalism and rhetoric will be around for more years than I have left on this Earth.

More updates to come if necessary……

“For The Soul Of The Nation”

That was a slogan that the Biden campaign started using….and I wonder if that is it?  Are we looking for the very soul of our great nation?

First my state, Mississippi……

I visited several polling stations and talking with a few people and there was an average of about an hour wait to cast one’s vote…..no problems other than the waits.

No surprises here….Trump wins and all down ticket thugs did as well.

Mississippi will fly a new state flag with a magnolia and the phrase “In God We Trust,” with voters approving the design Tuesday. It replaces a Confederate-themed flag state lawmakers retired months ago as part of the national reckoning over racial injustice. The magnolia flag was the only design on the general election ballot, and voters were asked to say yes or no. A majority said yes. Legislators will have to put the design into law, but they are expected to do that with little fuss because they already did the hard work of retiring a flag that some people wanted to keep, the AP reports

This will be my election analysis…..as best I can offer at this hour.

All the polls are now closed, and one thing is clear: The major battleground states will tell the tale of the presidency. It’s just not clear when. President Trump picked up two important victories after midnight, when Florida and Ohio were called for him. Florida was all but a must-win for his re-election hopes. Still, Joe Biden continues to have paths to victory, and the winner will be determined by swing states that could not yet be called, including Pennsylvania. Meanwhile, Trump and Biden each racked up expected victories, with Biden dominating in the Northeast and the West Coast, and Trump in the South, notes the Wall Street Journal.

  • For Biden (225): California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine (at least one of the state’s 4 electoral college votes), Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, Washington state, and the District of Columbia. (He also won one of Nebraska’s 5 electoral college votes.)
  • For Trump (213): Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska (4 of 5 electoral college votes), North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, West Virginia, and Wyoming.
  • No calls: States where the results could not yet be called include closely watched Pennsylvania, along with Michigan, Georgia, North Carolina, Wisconsin, Arizona, Nevada, and Alaska. Three of Maine’s electoral votes are also yet to be determined.

It is 0200 hrs and there is no winner….regardless what some person my say to a cheering crowd….sadly there is no outpouring of disgust of Trump policies and no outpouring of massive support for Biden.

The only thing so far that I can say is the the Clintonian pundit James Carvell predicted that we would know the winner by 10 pm…..he was wrong and now maybe it will be the last time we have to hear from this dinosaur again.  So far all the predictions and polls have been wrong as usual….

The eyes of the news has been on the US Senate and who will finally win the leadership……so far it is a tie…..Dem 246  Repub 246…..

As of this writing the Electoral College counts is Biden–220  Trump–213

So far it appears to be a dead heat…..which was not predicted.

Sorry to Biden. the “soul of the nation” will not be reclaimed no matter who wins this exercise it futility…..the tribalism will remain and the GOP will sink into the marsh of uselessness.

And now the pundits will start blame game shaming people for their votes…..and pointing the fingers at…well who else but Russia.  (And that would be a great post for next week)…but first we have to get past the rhetoric of the day and the pundits making their excuses for not knowing what the Hell they have been saying for 2 years.

Do we really need to know how Clinton did in 2016….I do not care that was 4 agonizing four years ago I want to know about today and if I need to start planning for the nukes to fall….Clinton lost, Trump won in 2016…..in case anyone was not aware.

All in all the MSM has been a total wash on the coverage…..but it is fun to watch them scramble to explain why all their BS has been wrong for so long.

Closing Thought–03Nov20

Today in history….

1868–Ulysses Grant elected president

1896–William McKinley elected president

1964–Lyndon Johnson elected president

1992–Bill Clinton elected president

Onward……

I will be cruising the Coast to check on different polling stations to see if there is anything to report.

Today is the Big Day….time to make up your mind go to the polls and cast your worthless vote……worthless because all we will do is change who sits on the Golden Toilet in the White House.

“The people I distrust most are those who want to improve our lives but have only one course of action in mind.” ~ Frank Herbert

Policies will remain similar as those today…..the rich will get richer and the poor will go hungry….but at least were tried to rid the nation of the gutless wonders that control our very lives.

Regardless we need to vote our feelings and hopes…..

Then there are those creepy little piss ants that think they are tough by dressing like soldiers (something they are too cowardly to do in real life) and the DA of Philly has the right idea on the treatment of these small minded douche bags….

Philadelphia’s Democratic district attorney Larry Krasner is warning armed, so-called “poll watchers” to stay away from the city’s voting precincts unless they want to find themselves explaining to a jury why they “thought it was okay to come to Philly and steal our votes.”

“If you want to dress up like a G.I. Joe and claim you are protecting the polls when we all know what you’re really doing is intimidating voters,” Krasner told CNN on Friday, “you’re getting locked up.”

“Wannabe fascists stay home,” he added. “If your idea of how to have a democratic election is to steal it, then I’ve got something for you. I’ve got a jail cell, and I’ve got criminal charges.”

That should be law and enforced.

One final thought from Daniel Ellsberg (look him up)….

‘Tis the season for some progressives to argue that the best way to build a progressive political movement in America is to stick it to the centrist Democrats—who have rejected progressive nominees and platforms—by voting for a third party, even in swing states.

If that helps elect what many regard as a “greater evil” Republican, some third party supporters argue, it will radicalize significant parts of the electorate, help the third party grow, and gradually increase the prospect of victory for genuinely progressive politics.

As die-hard progressives, we strongly disagree. Few beliefs among progressives have been so thoroughly tested in empirical reality over the last twenty years—and few have been so thoroughly discredited—than the idea that running third party candidates in swing states during close elections is a good way to build a progressive voting bloc.

The 2020 Black Vote

In this election year of 2020 much has been said, speculated and lied about the direction of the black vote.

The MSM pundits want you to believe that it is a certainty that the vote will go to Biden and Harris….

Why?

First Biden was VP to Obama and since he is black they assume that will drive the vote toward Biden….and then he picked a black woman as his running mate and the pundits make sure that you know that should help drive the black vote into the Biden column.

All that could be true but only if the black vote talked about is 50 years old or older.

Younger black voters are not all that thrilled with the choices they have in the election field this time around…..as was evident with the interviews that NBC has with young undecided black voters…..

And another roundtable…..

Watch the videos!  Not at all the picture that the MSM is trying hard to rewrite…

Both those videos are very telling…..young blacks do not see a future with these Dems that are pushed down their throats…..

This is one reason the so-called “Squad” is so popular among the younger voters and that includes Black women.

The Squad?  (For Christ sake use your brain and your finger…Google has the answer.)

How about the overall black vote?

But available evidence suggests that Biden, while viewed favorably by Black Americans, does not enjoy the extraordinarily positive sentiments Obama received when he was campaigning. An aggregated Gallup sample from late July through mid-September shows Biden with a 75% favorable and 20% unfavorable rating among Black Americans, compared with Obama’s consistent 90%+ favorable ratings among Black Americans in August, September and October 2008, during his initial presidential campaign. Gallup tracking in August and September 2016 showed Clinton with an average favorable rating of 71% among Black Americans as she campaigned for the presidency. Thus, Biden’s current image among Black Americans is closer to Clinton’s than to Obama’s at comparable points in their campaigning, underscoring the challenge facing Biden as he attempts to replicate Obama’s ability to bring out the Black vote.
