Let’s Ban Weather Modification

There has been a wealth of bills flying around to ban experiments in controlling the weather…..there is no experiments to control the weather…..but that does not stop the GOP from using it as a tool for crowd control.

Republicans across the country are working hard to pass bills banning something that the fringe corners of the internet told them to be afraid of: weather modification.

Weather modification refers to geoengineering processes such as solar radiation modification and cloud-seeding that are used to counter the effects of global warming and drought, respectively. These processes have been woven into right-wing conspiracy theories that the government is able to control the weather, and MAGA lawmakers—fearful that the Democrats could rule the heavens and summon a deluge to wipe them out—have started to take action.

Republican lawmakers in nearly 20 states have introduced legislation to prevent weather modification. Some of the laws allude to “chemtrails,” a conspiracy theory that planes aren’t leaving “contrails” of condensation in the atmosphere but are spreading chemicals on an unsuspecting public. In two states, Florida and Tennessee, those bills have passed and been signed into law.

In July, right-wing concerns about weather modification reached a new fever pitch.

Earlier this month, Environmental Protection Agency head Lee Zeldin announced an effort to “compile everything we know about contrails and geoengineering” and release it to the public.

Days later, Representatives Marjorie Taylor Greene and Tim Burchett introduced the Clear Skies Act, a bill that would levy steep penalties for anyone who “knowingly conducts weather modification,” including geoengineering, cloud seeding, solar radiation modification, and the release of aerosol to “influence temperature, precipitation, or the intensity of sunlight.”

After Hurricane Helene struck the southeast United States in October, Greene boosted the right-wing conspiracy theory that the Biden administration had used weather manipulation to target Republican areas ahead of the U.S. general election. “Yes they can control the weather,” Greene wrote in a post on X at the time. “It’s ridiculous for anyone to lie and say it can’t be done.”

Another waste of time and resources…..but then that is what the GOP does best.

MAGA: A What If Story

There have been many writers/analysts that have said that this chaotic time will end and the political pendulum will swing back….but for the sake of debate ‘what if’ it does not?

The pendulum will swing back. It is a phrase invoked repeatedly, with variation, since Donald Trump’s reelection last November. Cable news anchor Chris Cuomo, Senator Angus King, and pollster Nate Silver have all invoked it to some degree. Presidential biographer Jon Meacham recently predicted that the pendulum would swing from a Donald Trump presidency to “the presidency of AOC.” The phrase conjures history, the past as prologue. The “pendulum”—the vagaries of change, the slow pace of history—will shift back to Democrats soon. Americans will tire of the status quo that Trump built. The MAGA movement will fall.

Talk of history, particularly American political history, in such ways returns us to the life and career of historian Arthur Schlesinger Jr. For it was Schlesinger Jr.’s 1986 book, The Cycles of American History, that popularized the idea that American politics shifts from liberalism to conservatism, and back again, within every generation. Schlesinger also used the term “pendulum” to describe this shift. But whereas pendulums can only move back and forth, Schlesinger Jr. argued that history moves within itself, its phases interacting in ways that blur the origins of the present—hence a “cycle.” American history, he wrote, has circulated between “public action and private interest” since the early 1800s. “War, depression, inflations, may heighten or complicate moods,” he wrote in his second chapter, “but the cycle itself rolls on, self-contained, self-sufficient, and autonomous.”

Schlesinger Jr. wrote these words in another era of conservative dominance. President Ronald Reagan had trounced former Vice President Walter Mondale in the 1984 presidential election, winning every state but Minnesota and capturing the largest number of Electoral College votes in American history. Since coming to office in 1981, Reagan had attracted the traditional constituents of the Democratic Party (blue-collar, working-class, union voters, as well as Blacks and Hispanics)—into the GOP, in what commentators at the time referred to as the “Reagan revolution.” The Democrats floundered for relevance and a strategic path over the next eight years, lost in incredulity at their collapse and the quest for a new coalition.

Sound familiar?

If it does not swing back what will that mean for us peons that keep this country together?

It is easy and lazy to state that it will all work out in the wash….a prediction that is a safe beat because the statement has a 50/50 chance of being right…that is nothing more than a cop-out and a safe bet.

I am sure someone has something to say about this…..so let it fly.

Will Putin Do It Again?

Will he launch more drones on Ukraine?

Will he try another massive military push in Ukraine?

Good questions but for this post they are moot….it seems some analyst thinks Putin will make a move on Moldova and soon.

A US intelligence expert believes the nation will be making ‘another offensive military campaign’, as it was suggested another post-soviet State would be attacked: Moldova, on the border of Ukraine.

The small country has been subject to severe pressure from Russia in the past and has a large Russian-speaking population.

Ivana Stradner, who studies Russia’s security strategies and military doctrines, explains in The Telegraph that its media spreads ‘outlandish claims’ that Moldova is laced with Western intelligence services. Adding to reasons why the nation may target the Eastern European spot, the media also claims ‘MI6 is taking control of the Moldovan elections’.

Plus, Moscow has even made claims that intelligence in Moldova has been working with Ukraine to ‘sabotage Russia’.

So, these claims would suggest Moldova is being used as a weapon against Russia by the West. Therefore, it could lead to it falling into the same situation as Ukraine.

US intelligence expert Rebekah Koffler also explained the idea Russia may launch another attack in the coming years.

“As a military intelligence analyst specialising in Putin’s thinking and Russian military strategy, I agree with Rutte’s assessment about Russia’s readiness for another offensive military campaign in just a few years,” she wrote for The Telegraph.

“I’m less convinced that a NATO country is likely to be the Kremlin’s next target, unless the alliance directly intervenes in Ukraine by deploying troops onto the battlefield.

“Nevertheless, what NATO does or doesn’t do in the next few years could be highly significant in determining whether Putin decides to attack another post-Soviet state, such as Moldova.”

(ladbible.com)

My thoughts are…..first does he have the assets to start another conflict?  I mean he cannot close his adventure into Ukraine so does that bode well for another conflict?

Granted I do not have access to classified info but by the accounts that are in the public domain I do not see another adventure in the best interests of Putin.

Moldova might be an easy target for him but will it really help the situation in the region?

Donny has given Putin 10 or 12 days to bring the Ukraine adventure to a close….but will that just be another yo-yo policy from the administration?

+++Again a short day….my hospital visit starts at 0800 with labs, doctors then treatment….all that will run into the afternoon….I will not be writing much more since I will feel like crap…..I will take the rest of the day to recover because I will be up to my butt again come Friday with my chemo….please enjoy your day and this post…..I shall return in force tomorrow.+++

That is a famous quote from the French Revolution the queen when asked about the food shortages had that to say about the starving people….and now the situation is approaching critical here in the US.

That bill that Donny and his GOP thugs passed and he signed into law will work wonders for the states that gave this ‘person’ the most support….Red States….

What do Louisiana, West Virginia, Oklahoma, and Alabama have in common?  For one thing, they’re red states. For another, they’re poor states. Each has among the top 10 highest percentages of residents on SNAP, or food stamps.

And finally, every one of their Republican lawmakers voted for President Trump’s so-called “Big Beautiful Bill” — which will result in the largest cut to SNAP in history, at $186 billion through 2034.

The bill doesn’t just cut federal SNAP spending. It also, for the first time, shifts much of that burden to the states. So state governments will need to raise taxes, cut spending, or further slash benefits to meet these added expenses. Others may eliminate their SNAP rolls entirely.

SNAP offers taxpayers a tremendous return on investment. “One study estimates that every SNAP dollar invested in children returns $62 in value over the long-term,” the Center on Policy and Budget Priorities reports.

So GOP lawmakers aren’t making these cuts because we can’t afford SNAP. They’re doing it to offset some of their deficit-busting tax breaks for corporations and the wealthy. Taking food from kids to give billionaires a tax break? Talk about Robin Hood in reverse.

In an open letter to congressional leaders, 23 state governors — including the leaders of historically red states like North Carolina, Kansas, and Kentucky — call these SNAP cuts “unrealistic” and warn they will “result in too many Americans forced to survive rather than thrive.”

Red states will be among the hardest hit, but it’s a truly national problem. In 2023, the USDA found that 13.5 percent of U.S households were “food insecure,” meaning they have a “limited or uncertain availability of nutritionally adequate and safe foods.” SNAP benefits currently serve more than 40 million Americans, almost half of them children.

https://www.counterpunch.org/2025/07/25/red-states-are-about-to-go-hungry-thanks-to-trump/

This is so sad.

I have spent a good portion of the last 5-6 years trying to understand why the states and its voters are so in love with Donny and his backward thinking policies.

What will it take to break the hold that these thugs have on the voter?

Someone please explain all this devotion.

Is this the reason that the GOP hates education….to keep these mindless fools from wanting more out of life?

If so I weep.

I Read, I Write, You Know

“lego ergo scribo”

Why Do They Hate Education?

For decades the GOP has had a hard on for education….they cannot stand that people are educated and feel they must stop any trend in that direction.

So what makes them hate education?

DEI, antisemitism, and transgender athletics are not the real reasons for these attacks on higher education. They’re excuses to give the Trump regime power over America’s colleges and universities.

These are excuses for this moronic attack on education especially higher education.

How Donny is going about this destruction is a simple plan and his hero Orban of Hungary had the idea….

They’re following Hungarian President Viktor Orban’s playbook for creating an “illiberal democracy” — an authoritarian state masquerading as a democracy. The playbook goes like this:

First, take over military and intelligence operations by purging career officers and substituting ones personally loyal to you. Check.

Next, intimidate legislators by warning that if they don’t bend to your wishes, you’ll run loyalists against them. (Make sure they also worry about what your violent supporters could do to them and their families.) Check.

Next, subdue the courts by ignoring or threatening to ignore court rulings you disagree with. Check or in process.

Then focus on independent sources of information. Sue media that publish critical stories and block their access to news conferences and interviews. Check.

Then go after the universities.

Crapping on higher education is also good politics, as demonstrated by former Rep. Elise Stefanik (Harvard ‘06) who browbeat the presidents of Harvard, University of Pennsylvania, and MIT over their responses to student protests against Israel’s bombardment of Gaza, leading to several of them being fired.

It’s good politics because most of the 60 percent of adult Americans who lack college degrees are stuck in lousy jobs. Many resent the college-educated, who lord it over them economically and culturally.

Behind this cultural populism lies a deeper anti-intellectual, anti-Enlightenment ideology closer to fascism than authoritarianism.

…

So what’s the real, underlying reason for the Trump regime’s attack on education?

Why? Because the greatest obstacle to dictatorship is an educated populace. Ignorance is the handmaiden of tyranny.

That’s why slave owners prohibited enslaved people from learning to read, fascists burn books, and tyrants close universities.

In their quest to destroy democracy, Trump, Vance, and their cronies are intent on shutting the American mind.

There is your answers and no amount of justification can change the facts.

‘A mind is a terrible thing to waste’ and just look at those in charge….what a waste.

The Late Night Two Step

Colbert has been silenced, well not until May of 2026, and of course Donny gets butt hurt when people make fun of his tiny hands or other tiny parts of his body…..and as usual he mouths what he always mouths….sue somebody.

This time is anybody who has an opinion of him and his backward policies….Beyonce, late hosts, etc.

Despite the lateness of the hour in Scotland, Donald Trump remained vocal on social media Saturday, unleashing a late-night rant in which he threatened to prosecute Kamala Harris, Oprah Winfrey and Beyonce while lashing out at news networks whose “licenses could, and should, be revoked.”

The president, who is spending the weekend golfing in the UK, wrote at 7.45 p.m. ET (12.45 a.m. local BST) that he was reviewing the large amount of money spent by his Democratic opponents “probably illegally” during the 2024 election.

Trump claimed Beyonce was paid $11 million to endorse Harris, and that she “never sang, not one note, and left the stage to a booing and angry audience!” He also claimed that Democrats paid $3 million in “expenses” to Oprah and $600,000 to civil rights activist and TV personality Reverend Al Sharpton.

There is no evidence that any of the people named in Trump’s rant were paid for their endorsement by the Democratic campaign.

“YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO PAY FOR AN ENDORSEMENT. IT IS TOTALLY ILLEGAL TO DO SO,” the president wrote in a Truth Social post. “Can you imagine what would happen if politicians started paying for people to endorse them. All hell would break out!”

Typical hypocritical BS that the GOP is famous for doing….a double standard if you will.

But the one that generates the most foul mouth spewing was a recent “South Park’ episode.

“South Park” creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone had a simple response to the furor the often-controversial show stoked this week with an episode showing President Trump in bed with Satan and making fun of what they depicted as the president’s small genitals.

“We’re terribly sorry,” Parker said Thursday, holding a deadpan stare as the crowd laughed during a panel at Comedy Central’s Comic-Con.

The “South Park” season premiere drew a response from the White House, which said in a statement to The Guardian that the show “hasn’t been relevant for over 20 years and is hanging on by a thread with uninspired ideas in a desperate attempt for attention.”

“President Trump has delivered on more promises in just six months than any other president in our country’s history — and no fourth-rate show can derail President Trump’s hot streak,” spokesperson Taylor Rogers told the paper.

The premiere of the show’s 27th season also skewered Paramount over its recent decision to settle a lawsuit brought by Trump for $16 million. Paramount received approval Thursday from Trump’s Federal Communications Commission for an $8 billion merger agreement with Skydance.

The “South Park” episode that provoked the White House’s ire aired just days after Parker and Stone reached their own deal with Paramount for the rights to “South Park,” reported by Variety as valued more than $1 billion.

Parker and Stone said they were asked by their producers to blur out their depiction of Trump’s genitalia — a request they declined. And with the show being put together week-to-week, they said they were initially not sure if their first episode was going to gain traction.

Remember That Free Plane?

I am talking about the free plane that Qatar ‘donated’ to Trump to be used as the new Air Force One….now we see just how free it truly was…..is that $1 billion?

The cost to renovate a “free” Air Force One gifted by Qatar remains a tightly kept secret, with the White House classifying the price tag. But a $934 million budget transfer, quietly moved from the ballooning nuclear missile modernization program, is widely believed to be funding the overhaul, the New York Times reports, noting Air Force officials have privately admitted pulling from that total. President Trump has defended accepting the lavish “gift,” arguing it’s a win for taxpayers. However, some lawmakers and watchdogs are uneasy, pointing to ethical quandaries and the unusual use of funds earmarked for nuclear defense.

The aircraft, currently decked out with gold trim and slated for high-end security upgrades, will be transformed at a Texas facility that specializes in secretive projects. The renovations include advanced communications, anti-missile defenses, and a thorough sweep for any potential Qatari-planted bugs. The true cost remains a guessing game. While the Air Force’s top official has floated estimates under $400 million, skeptics doubt the project will come in that low, and the classified status makes it impossible to verify. That comes as Trump loudly criticizes other government upgrades, including a $2.5 billion renovation of Federal Reserve headquarters, the Times notes.

That was so kind of Qatar to ‘donate’ the plane….but to what end?

Qatar has seem to replace the US as the diplomatic dynamo…..being the intermediaries to numerous conflicts.

As evidenced by its busy diplomacy during the Iran-Israel-US dispute earlier this year, tiny Qatar has transformed itself “into the diplomatic capital of the world,” writes Nesrine Malik at the Guardian. Malik’s deep dive into the subject, based on interviews with more than two dozen diplomats and academics over the past year, seeks to explain how and why. The “why” part is straightforward. Qatar may be incredibly rich, but it’s also small and sandwiched among giant powers. For the 54-year-old nation, then, diplomacy is “existential.” The “how” part is more complicated, but it begins with the discovery of the world’s largest natural gas field in the 1990s, a discovery that fueled the country’s wealth. Then came a palace coup in 1995 that brought the reform-minded Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani to power.

Unlike his father, al-Thani decided that Qatar would no longer be subservient to Saudi Arabia. On that front, the nation launched the Al Jazeera media network, which “took Arab political discourse out of the street and on to the airwaves, challenging orthodoxies, poking at sectarian tensions and antagonizing other Arab governments.” All told, the country has leveraged the network, high-profile investments, and the spectacle of hosting the 2022 FIFA World Cup to become an influential yet neutral interlocutor in international affairs. At this point, Qatar finds that “there is more appetite for its services than it can handle,” writes Malik. It received three mediation requests alone in June.

Is Qatar truly trying to be the world’s diplomats?

I have my doubts.

But I guess someone had to take up the mantle of diplomacy…..since the idiots Donny has put in charge are doing nothing to help the country or the world.

It’s Good To Be A Mother

Recently there has been a concern that not enough babies were being born so Trump came up with the idea that a cash reward of $5000 would be given for the birth of a child….a nice sum but goes nowhere in raising that child to adulthood.

Another idea floated by Donny was to award a medal to women who give birth….

New York Times reported that the Trump administration is mulling a suite of initiatives aimed at encouraging Americans to have more babies. Some of the suggestions for these programs came from pronatalists, a loose network of activists who believe that the humanity is basically doomed unless people have more kids. A few weeks back, I hung out with some of them in Austin near their conference, which is called, naturally, NatalCon. To say that most of the conference goers leaned right would be an understatement; some of the topics under discussion were the ethics of gene-editing embryos to endow them with desired traits, how having more babies could save “the West,” and why most women should forego careers to be mothers.

Some of the pronatalist proposals that the White House is said to be considering include are practical in nature: issuing a baby bonus of $5,000, reserving 30 percent of Fulbright Scholarships for applicants who are parents or are at least married, and offering classes to women to help them identify the most fertile times in their menstrual cycle.

Other proposals, meanwhile, seem aimed at changing cultural attitudes toward childbearing. A prime example of this is the idea of bestowing a special medal on mothers of six or more children. This suggestion came from Malcolm and Simone Collins, a Pennsylvania couple who seem to have appointed themselves heads of the pronatalist movement and were the belles of the ball at NatalCon. The medal was part of a collection of draft executive orders on pronatalism that the Collinses recently sent to the Trump administration.

Trump May Soon Offer a Motherhood Medal, an Idea Popularized in Nazi Germany

In case you did not read the whole article….the idea is not something new….

Nazi leaders were obsessed with increasing the size and health of the so-called “national community” (“Volksgemeinschaft“) so that the German nation could dominate Europe. During the years of Nazi rule, Nazi authorities and German medical professionals tried different policies and initiatives to increase the sinking German birth rate.

Shortly after the Nazi Party rose to power in 1933, the new regime enacted legislation that increased existing criminal penalties for abortion among so-called “Aryan” Germans. The Lebensborn (“Fount of Life”) program was designed to discourage abortions by providing discreet maternity homes and adoption services to single “Aryan” women.Although Nazi policies encouraged these births outside of marriage, Nazi propaganda urged young “Aryan” Germans to marry early and have many children. Large families were the Nazi ideal, and they were promoted through written articles, visual propaganda, and the introduction of military-style awards for motherhood.

https://perspectives.ushmm.org/item/nazi-motherhood-medals

The Nazis were not alone in this brilliant (sarcasm) idea….the Soviets followed suit in the 40s….

Mother Heroine (Russian: Мать-героиня, romanized: Mat’-geroinya) is an honorary title that was used in the Soviet Union, awarded for bearing and raising a large family. The state’s intent was not only to honor such large families, but also to increase financial assistance for pregnant women, mothers of large families, and single mothers, and to promote an increased level of health in mother and child.[1] The award was established in 1944 and continued to exist until the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991.

(wikipedia.corg)

You want families to have more children then make an economy that would promote child birth as it is today few people can actually afford children.

Not a good idea.

The Evil That Is Wind

We know that Donny thinks the world of fossil fuel and has doubled down to demonizing renewables and his recent comment about wind mills just shows his disdain for wind power….

“Stop the windmills,” President Trump said late Friday after arriving in Scotland—only to revisit the subject again on Sunday. During a press event meant to highlight US-EU trade talks, Trump managed to hit on topics ranging from wind turbines to whales, with a reporter at one point directing the following to the president: “Can I ask why you’re in a bad mood? Was it a bad morning of golf?” Trump’s reply: “No. The golf was beautiful.” What are apparently less beautiful are the turbines. The Times of London has Trump’s comments:

  • “I say to Europe, we will not allow a windmill to be built in the United States. They’re killing us. They’re killing the beauty of our scenery, our valleys, our beautiful plains.”
  • “Today, I’m playing the best course, I think, in the world. Turnberry, even though I own it, it’s probably the best course in the world. And I look over the horizon and I see nine windmills. It’s like, ‘Great, at the end of the 18th’. I said, ‘Isn’t that a shame?’ What a shame.”
  • “It’s the most expensive form of energy. They’re made in China, almost all of them. When they start to rust and rot in eight years you can’t really turn them off, you can’t burn them. They won’t let you bury the propellers, the props, because there’s a certain type of fiber that doesn’t go well with the land. … The whole thing is a con job.”
  • “It kills the birds. They’re noisy. You know, you have a certain place in the Massachusetts area that over the last 20 years had one or two whales wash ashore and over the last short period of time they had 18, because it’s driving them loco. It’s driving them crazy.

Trump’s assertion about wind turbines harming whales has been repeatedly debunked, reports Rolling Stone. The Department of Energy stated in April 2023 that there’s no evidence to link wind energy development to whale deaths.

Comments made from his golf course in Scotland.

We know how safe oil rigs are now don’t we?  It is like those spills have never killed any animals or plants or for that matter people.

Speaking of golf and Donny’s ever consuming need to play we have a new thing…..Golf Force One…..his armor plated golf cart….check out the article and the photo….

Just 10 months ago, Donald Trump survived an assassination attempt – his second that year – as he played golf.

So as Mr Trump and his entourage set off from the first tee at Trump Turnberry in South Ayrshire on Saturday, it appeared that his security team had come better prepared.

In addition to the stream of army trucks, road checkpoints, and sniper positions around rural Turnberry, Mr Trump’s team deployed an additional security measure in the form of a black-clad, reinforced golf cart.

While the president opted to drive a standard white-framed buggy around the course, a distinctly bulkier off-road vehicle trailed him closely throughout.

Where Is This Economic Boom?

I heard Donny chest thumping about the US is in an economic boom….and yet I have not seen it with the exception of the wealthiest getting more benefits than before….so where the Hell is this economic boom?

Sorry to say the BS of a Trump economic boom is not what it is cracked up to be and the numbers bear that conclusion out….

The White House says the U.S. is in the midst of an “economic boom” under President Donald Trump. But voters aren’t feeling it in their wallets.

Polling released by Gallup Thursday found the president’s approval rating at just 37%, the lowest point of his second term so far, with an all-time low approval rating of 29% among independents.

This precipitous decline has been helped along by sagging approval on the economy, which has historically been the issue where he gets the most support. After a high of 42% in February, approval for his handling of the economy is likewise down to just 37%.

An uptick in inflation seen over the past month has exacerbated the cost of living crisis Trump promised to abate on the campaign trail.

A poll released Friday by Data for Progress found that, “Only 30% of likely voters report having enough income to be able to comfortably provide for their household’s needs, while a plurality of voters (43%) say they have enough income but money is tight, and 20% say they do not make enough to provide for all household members’ needs.”

“As his approval tanks, President Trump has finally lost voters on the one issue where they’ve historically trusted him: the economy,” said Lindsay Owens, the executive director of the Groundwork Collaborative. “Not only has Trump shirked his promise to lower prices, he’s made the situation substantially worse as his tax and tariff policies have landed a double blow to household budgets.”

According to data from Indeed, cited by Forbes, 43% of Americans have seen their wages lagging behind the cost of living over the past year. The jobs feeling the worst crunch are those “at the low-to-middle end of the pay spectrum.”

https://www.commondreams.org/news/trump-cost-of-living-struggle

Now with an election a little over a year away you would think that this info would be making the Dems a likely winner in 2026…..bad news….it does not!

The Dems after the election of Donny made all these promises for a new direction to put the people first….so far they are doing the same things now as they have been doing for 40+ years….reacting not leading….and the new numbers show that the voter sees their impotency.

President Donald Trump’s approval rating remains underwater. But Democrats are faring worse, according to a new poll from The Wall Street Journal released Saturday.

The new survey, conducted by Democratic pollster John Anzalone and Republican pollster Tony Fabrizio, found Democrats’ popularity at its lowest point in three decades of WSJ polling, with 63 percent of voters holding an unfavorable view of the party.

Only 33 percent of voters hold a favorable view of Democrats, with a meager 8 percent holding a “very favorable” opinion, for a net negative favorability of 30 percentage points.

While voters still have significant concerns over the president’s and the Republican Party’s handling of the economy, inflation, tariffs and foreign policy, the majority of respondents nonetheless say they trust Republicans more to handle those issues in Congress.

Despite criticism of the administration’s handling of inflation — disapproval outweighed approval by 11 points in the poll — the Republican Party, by 10 points, is trusted more than Democrats to deal with inflation.

That’s the same case when it comes to thoughts on the president’s drastic tariffs policy.

By 17 points, voters disapproved of Trump’s handling of tariffs, while still trusting Republicans more on the issue to Democrats by 7 points.

Health care and vaccine policy are the only two policy issues in which respondents favor Democrats to Republicans on.

https://www.politico.com/news/2025/07/26/democrats-approval-rating-poll-00478141

The article had one very pointed observation….

“The Democratic brand is so bad that they don’t have the credibility to be a critic of Trump or the Republican Party,” Anzalone told the newspaper. “Until they reconnect with real voters and working people on who they’re for and what their economic message is, they’re going to have problems.”

It is not looking good for Dems come the midterms…..but a lot can happen in a year that could change the direction of the political pendulum…..but please do not hold your breath.
