A “Prepared Citizen”

I recently read an article and it made me think about the direction of this country…..I am not sure the end game for these people…..

As natural disasters and civil unrest have engulfed the United States, a new alternative has arrived for Americans who opt not to sit idly by and wait for destruction to hit their doorstep.

The “prepared citizen” movement is a growing trend in which people take proactive steps to become self-reliant and ready for various emergencies or crises. It includes hardcore military training, self-defense and tools such as first aid and emergency communication.

The inspiration for the concept emerged from Eric Roscher, as Russia invaded Ukraine in 2022. He watched as civilians in the country were flooding the streets with little ability to defend themselves.

“They were trying to learn how to shoot literally days before the Russians invaded,” said Roscher, a U.S. Air Force veteran and owner of Barrel and Hatchet Trade Group. “And so they were almost, like, helpless. And I saw it was like in America, we shouldn’t have that problem. One, we have the Second Amendment, but we as citizens should have the ability to defend our country and ourselves, and it’s in our Constitution.”

Roscher teaches everyday Americans combat-style training.

Most prepared citizens NewsNation spoke to said they hope they never have to use the training or “utilize it in a way that protects themselves and protects their families.”

“Riots, elections, foreign wars, people realizing that their safety is their own personal responsibility,” he said. “No one’s coming to save them, so they’re going to have to be able to defend themselves and take matters in their own hands if they need to.”

Okay here my questions…..

This sounds like just another ‘militia’ in the making.

Do we really need another militia?  We already have enough militias, at least to my way of thinking….there are those Proud Boys, Oath Keepers, etc…..we do not need any more wackos with guns running around pretending to be the ‘savior’ of the nation.

Will there be an indoctrination?  If so to what end?

Please share any thoughts you may have….

Project 2029

Yes you read that right….Project 2029 not 2025.

This is the Dems new plan for upcoming elections….

Examining their last presidential election loss and looking ahead to 2028, Democrats are divided on whether the issue is that their candidates aren’t succeeding in selling voters on the party’s policies or the problem is the ideas themselves. So they plan to put together a book of Democratic stances, with a new section released every quarter, for candidates to work with in the next primaries, the New York Times reports. Project 2029 is modeled after the right-wing agenda President Trump disavowed as a candidate and put into action once in office, though not by name.

Party operatives aren’t concerned that their attacks on Project 2025 will rebound on them. They just need to tell a compelling story. In the 2024 campaign, “we didn’t lack policies,” said Celinda Lake, a Democratic pollster. “But we lacked a functioning narrative to communicate those policies.” She said her party’s candidates hit voters with “agencies and acronyms and statistics” rather than with a clear story about “what we’re going to fight for.” Installments in Project 2029 will be released quarterly in Democracy: A Journal of Ideas.

But it’s not just the format that Democrats can take a lesson from, said a former aide in Democratic White Houses who’s on the project’s advisory board. “Liberals underestimate the power of Trump’s ideas,” said Neera Tanden, adding that her party needs better ones to compete. “We get wrapped up in his personality. But he puts forward an idea like ‘No tax on tips,’ and that’s an important signifier that he is championing working-class people,” she added. The project has Democratic skeptics. “Developing policies by checking every coalitional box is how we got in this mess in the first place,” said Adam Jentleson, who’s mulling launching a new think tank.

After the 2024 election and Dems were handed their asses to them the chest thumping was trying to find a new direction that speaks more to the people….so far not has not happened….as a matter of fact the party loyalists even made sure that a true progressive was removed from the DNC, David Hogg.

The GOP used about 40 years to get where they are today and the Dems want to do the same thing in a year and half…..delusional my friends….but then Dems have always been delusional.

The status quo Dems cannot do anything but react to Trump as they have done for decades before…..and there is the resurgence of the conservative Blue Dog Dem (a post to follow later)….another telling example of where the DNC is headed…..NOWHERE!

Watch for my upcoming series on the Democratic Party and the problems it faces.

US Version Of ‘Devil’s Island’

We have a new ‘detention’ center about to open in Florida it is being called ‘Alligator Alcatraz’…..

President Donald Trump will visit a new immigration detention center in the Florida Everglades on Tuesday for what’s expected to be the site’s official opening, showcasing what critics are condemning as an inhumane makeshift prison camp and what supporters are embracing as a national model for aggressively ramping up detention and deportation efforts.

Florida officials have raced to erect the compound of heavy-duty tents, trailers and temporary buildings in a matter of days, as part of the state’s muscular efforts to help carry out Trump’s immigration crackdown.

Dubbed “Alligator Alcatraz” by state officials, the facility is located at an isolated airfield about 45 miles (72 kilometers) west of downtown Miami and is surrounded by swamps filled with mosquitoes, pythons and alligators.

To Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis and other state officials, locating the facility in the rugged and remote Florida Everglades is meant as a deterrent, and naming it after the notorious federal prison, an island fortress known for its brutal conditions, is meant to send a message. It’s another sign of how the Trump administration and its allies are relying on scare tactics to try to persuade people in the country illegally to leave voluntarily.

It is sounding like the US version of France’s Devil’s Island…..a prison in the middle of a jungle surrounded by disease and dangerous wildlife.

Donny’s press secretary summed it up like this….

“The facility is in the heart of the Everglades and will be informally known as ‘Alligator Alcatraz.’ There is only one road leading in, and there is the only way out is a one-way flight,” Leavitt told reporters on Monday.

“It is isolated and surrounded by dangerous wildlife in unforgiving terrain, the facility will have up to 5,000 beds to house, process and deport criminal illegal aliens. This is an efficient and low-cost way to help carry out the largest mass deportation campaign in American history,” she added.

Leavitt was later asked whether the “dangerous wildlife” is a “design feature” of the facility.

“When you have illegal murderers and rapists and heinous criminals in a detention facility surrounded by alligators, yes, I do think that’s a deterrent for them to try to escape,” she said.

The problem that load of manure is not everyone sent there will a murderer or a rapist….some will be family members that have been ripped away from their loved ones.

  • The compound at Dade-Collier Training and Transition Airport in the Everglades, around 50 miles west of Miami, consists of tents, trailers and temporary buildings, the AP reports. “You don’t always have land so beautiful and so secure,” Trump said. “You have a lot of bodyguards and a lot of cops that are in the form of alligators. You don’t have to pay them so much.” He joked about teaching detainees to run in a zigzag manner to improve their chances by “about 1%” if they escape and have to run away from an alligator.
  • Critics of the project include Bacardi Jackson, executive director of the ACLU of Florida, the Miami Herald reports. In a statement Tuesday, Jackson said the branding of the facility “reflects an intent to portray people fleeing hardship and trying to build a better life for themselves and their families as threats, which is both unnecessary and abusive.”
  • The area is home to endangered species. Elise Pautler Bennett, an attorney at the Center for Biological Diversity, described it as the “most sensitive” place in the state, the BBC reports. “Any other project that would have been proposed in the Everglades would have gone through an intense environmental approval process,” she said. “I’m convinced this one didn’t get that because it’s a political stunt.”

To me this is cruel and usual punishment and I find it sad that many Americans support this cruelty.
