Man Without A Party

For some time now my readers get confused on where I stand on political spectrum……to give you an idea….on a quiz called the Political Compass I rate Economic Left/Right -10.00 and Social Libertarian/Authoritarian -4.77….I could not get further Left.

Let’s go back a few years……after I returned from Vietnam I was already radicalized and I became an activist from day one…..eventually that lead me to join the Socialist Party and for years I wrote and did party business and in 1995 I resigned from the party because I opposed wasting money on elections by running candidates that could not win and because the Part recognized a Lithuanian Nazi collaborator as the country’s leader after they broke from the USSR………now I was party-less and not an activist any more so I went into my down time mode until 2005….then I was badly hurt after Katrina and started back with politics, economics and history as a way to rehab…..

I thought about the Democratic Party but most of the members are neo-liberals and do not work for the country but rather business……and then there is the GOP…..(insert raucous laughter here)……….I wanted nothing to do with a party that was so devoid of truth….so where does that leave an aging activist?

And then out of the blue comes my answer…….I recently took the Esquire political quiz to see where I fell in the political world.   To my surprise I am part of the New American Center….a Pick-Up Populist.  Say What!

Over the years I have taken many different political quizzes and it always put me on the Left….but now I learn I am part of the Center…..I answered all questions as I had in the past…..and yet I am not, according to Esquire, a Leftist.

Something has changed!  I have not changed my political views and yet I am a centrist.  So what has changed?  Not me so the only other variable is….society.  Has society become more radicalized?  Until we find an answer to what is happening to this country politically…..I will remain a….Man Without A Party!

Could They Be More Worthless?

I know I have been hard on our elected officials….calling them clowns….asshats….morons….well pick a derogatory term and I have called them it…..I wish I could apologize for my insulting language but I CANNOT…..I call it as I see it.  Neither side of the aisle is immune from my terms……both of them are worthless, at best……but it seems I may not be the only one that dislikes these thieving pricks…..

Newser) – It is hard to get 91% of Americans to agree on anything, but this is nearing unanimous: Congress stinks. Gallup’s latest poll pegs Congress’ approval rating at 9%, the lowest mark in the 39-year history of Gallup. The number brings 2013’s average to 14%, which would be an all-time annual low. It’s worth noting that while the number is historically low for Gallup, it’s right in line with the other numbers in Real Clear Politics’ polling average, and far from the lowest any poll has recorded. An AP-GfK poll from the first week of the government shutdown came in with just a 5% approval rating. As we’ve noted in the past, this puts Congress somewhere south of torture and Paris Hilton.

President Obama’s numbers look delightful by comparison—Gallup gives him a 56% approval rating—but he did take some hits in the character departments. For the first time, less than half of Americans believe he’s a “strong and decisive leader,” with the number dipping from 53% in September to 47% now. He’s also dropped five points in the “honest and trustworthy” category, to 55%.

Now. guess what.  NOT one they gives a shit what you think of them…..we elected them and they are there to stay…..your opinion means NOTHING to them.

You know it use to be that the people chose their politicians……today with the help of gerrymandering it is vice versa…….the politicians chooses his/her voters…..a sad, sad indictment of the election system we now live under…..we are just an election away from one party rule……does anyone know what that could mean?
