Do Not Try This At Home!

In my many years I have protested many things and in many places—I even attempted a street theater protest—–none of which were very effective—-and then there are brave souls that set themselves on fire or stand in the way of a tank……… but this protest I never considered……….then while surfing my many news outlets I came across an article about the ultimate protest tidbit…….

(Newser) – Never let it be said that Pyotr Pavlensky isn’t committed to his work. The 29-year-old Russian artist stripped naked and then nailed his scrotum to the cobblestone of Moscow’s Red Square yesterday afternoon, just outside of the Lenin Mausoleum, the BBC reports. He sat that way for an hour and a half before police took him to the hospital. He faces up to 15 days in jail, on charges including “explicit contempt for society accompanied by swearing in public,” and “humiliation,” according to RT. Pavlensky called the piece “Fixation,” and described it this way:

  • “It’s not a bureaucratic mess that deprives society of its ability to act, but fixation on our own defeats and losses that nails us to the Kremlin’s pavement stronger and stronger, creating an army of apathetic idols out of people.”

Pavlensky is something of a glutton for physical punishment. His previous works have included sewing his lips together in solidarity with Pussy Riot, and wrapping himself in barbed wire outside of Moscow’s parliament.

My first reaction was a grimace and then a loud…OUCH!

Please my friends, if you feel the urge to try your hand at protesting…promise me one thing……DO NOT TRY THIS!

Ugly Child Of Lame Centrism

I am sorry but I could no longer resist jumping on the bash Obamacare bandwagon……..it is just too easy……..

Have you heard anything about Obamacare lately?  (That is sarcasm and a rhetorical question)…..while I was reading the other day I cam across a opinion piece on Obamacare……

(Newser) – There are many reasons the Affordable Care Act’s rollout has been such a disaster, and sure, some of them have (R)s next to their names. “But a large part of the problem was the underlying ideological outlook that shaped the original proposal,” Princeton professor Julian Zelizer argues in a CNN op-ed. “The ACA was a product of … half-baked liberalism.” Since the 1990s, Democrats have been peddling “jerry-built proposals” that rely on nudging market-based actors in the right direction without spending much money.

That’s politically wise, but “it has come at a huge long-term cost to the strength of the programs.” Unlike, say, Social Security—simple, government-run, and highly popular—these public-private Frankensteins tend to be hard to implement, hard to understand, and easy to demonize. They often fail to address the central issue, while “giving private industry a chance to reap profits off the policy.” That’s all true of the ACA, and it should “be a wake-up call for liberals that it might be worth fighting for something.” Click for his full column.

I know there are those out there that will try and make hay out of the debacle that is the Obamacare rollout….it has become the hot point issue for political pundits….and they talk incessantly about the ACA…..they talk and they talk….and they bitch and moan…..they point and speak….when few give a crap what their opinion is of the law…….but Hell there are radio folk making a fortunate out of bitching about Obamacare while selling you on the idea of gold……so the opinion, in my opinion is a breath of fresh perspective……

Make no mistake…..I have NEVER been a fan of the ACA……..not because of some talking point fed to me by the media but rather because I see it as a conduit for insurance companies to rape the people……but it is better than the options……since there are NO other options it is better than NOTHING which by the way is the solution that the GOP has offered…….I would rather see a single payer system…….

Israel Is Unhappy

Have you had enough of the mindless dribble coming out of the rollout of Obamacare?  Or maybe it is the crack smoking mayor………….

Last week I wrote a post about the beginning of talks between the West and Iran over their nuke issue and now there is more on the process……

Yes sports fans Israel is unhappy with the P5+1 meetings with Iran on their nuke program……..

(AP) – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says he “utterly rejects” the emerging nuclear deal between western powers and Iran, calling it a “bad deal” and promising that Israel will do everything it needs to do to defend itself. Israel believes Iran is trying to develop a nuclear weapon, and says international pressure should be stepped up, not eased, in order to force Iran to dismantle its nuclear program. The PM spoke before meeting with John Kerry, who will travel to Geneva later today to join the nuclear talks.

Kerry’s decision to fly to Geneva comes after signs that global powers and Iran were close to a deal that would cap some of Iran’s suspected nuclear program in exchange for limited relief from economic sanctions. “I understand the Iranians are walking around very satisfied in Geneva as well they should because they got everything and paid nothing,” Netanyahu told reporters. “They wanted relief of sanctions after years of grueling sanctions, they got that. They paid nothing because they are not reducing in any way their nuclear enrichment capability,” he said. “This is a very bad deal and Israel utterly rejects it. Israel is not obliged by this agreement and Israel will do everything it needs to do to defend itself and defend the security of its people.”

This what I write about…….Israel needs a foe to keep its hold on the scrotum of the West……it is not at all about the nukes but rather to retain ALL aid it gets from other countries……personally, I am weary of the “David And Goliath” bullsh*t.

As long as they oppose everything done to try and make the world, including Israel, safe….then they have lost all validity in my eyes……I suspect that peace is not on their agenda…….the world needs to see Israel for what it is………a state of aggression…….the days of Abraham and Joshua are done….time to start acting like a civilized country.

While Israel was pouting and bitching…..there is some new news out of Iran…….

(Newser) – Talks in Tehran between Iran and the UN’s nuclear chief have produced a “roadmap” for boosting inspections—but some of the sites that most interest UN investigators aren’t included in the deal as it stands, the AP notes. Still, they’ll get access to a planned heavy water reactor that has worried France, as well as a major uranium mine. The plan involves Iran opening its doors over a three months, a period that may frustrate the West, but it could also lead to a more expansive deal.

Indeed, the UN’s Yukiya Amano and Iran nuclear boss Ali Akbar Salehi say they aim to “cooperate further … to resolve all present and past issues.” Separate talks in Geneva, which ended yesterday, were less productive, though John Kerry says the US and other negotiating countries reached “unity” on a nuclear deal only to be rejected by Iran. Earlier reports had suggested France opposed a deal that appeared to be forming, but “the French signed off on” a proposal this weekend, Kerry said. Iran, however, “couldn’t take it.” While it’s not “a race to complete just any agreement,” Kerry signaled optimism that a deal could be reached in a matter of months, Reuters notes. Talks are set to resume Nov. 20.

Let’s say there is a deal on the nukes in Iran….how long will it be before Hamas or Hezbollah is working on a nuke?  This is all a game for Israel.
