We can blame society for many, many things….bad politicians, stupid marriage laws, greed governing the country….many things….but the Catholic Church has found a new one…..
By now the whole world knows the saga of the priest, all over the world, that are taking advantage of their position to RAPE small boys and the lack of concern by the church for these disgusting pigs….and now we have a report that blames just about everyone except the priests themselves…..this from the Politicususa website…………….
A study and report released this past week titled, “The Causes and Context of Sexual Abuse of Minors by Catholic Priests in the United States, 1950-2010,” placed the blame on everyone except the clergy who perpetrated the rapes.
The report failed to place the blame on the offending priests or the Catholic Church that turned a blind eye to the problem for decades. According to Terry, “The increased frequency of abuse in the 1960s and 1970s was consistent with the patterns of increased deviance of society during that time.” She also stated that “social influences intersected with vulnerabilities of individual priests whose preparation for a life of celibacy was inadequate at that time.” So according to Terry, society was at fault for the abuse during the 60s and 70s, but she failed to find any causal relationship for the decades preceding those years or the 1980s forward to the present. It is offensive to society and the children who were victimized to designate a 20-year time span as the cause of generation’s worth of sexual abuse by priests around the world. The report was limited to clergy-rape in the United States, but worldwide sexual abuse is just as rampant. In South and Central Americancountries where Catholicism is the predominate faith, lawsuits and reports to law enforcement are virtually non-existent suggesting that the problem may be much worse than in America.
The other aspect of the report that is arguably more disgusting than blaming society for pervert-priests is the contention that priests who rape young boys are not pedophiles. Apparently, Terry believes that, “Most of the priests who had allegations of abuse, abused pubescent or post-pubescent minors.” According to Terry and the Catholic funded $1.4 million study, “the victims of pedophiles are defined in the study as being 10 years old or younger.” It is true that the study defines pedophilia as sexual abuse of children under the age of ten, and it is unfathomable that Terry and her research team delineate one year to define a heinous act by the clergy. It is important to note that for the purpose of defending the Catholic Church against litigation from victims of clergy-rape, abusing an eleven-year-old boy does not carry the stigma of pedophilia, even though the 11-year-old boys who suffered brutality at the hands of trusted priests are no less physically and psychologically damaged than a ten-year-old.
I find most religion offensive, at best…..and now this report makes me more disgusted with the Catholic Church than I am with American politics…..apparently there is NO personal responsibility within the Church….but we already knew that…didn’t we?

Of course they are. But then various churches have been doing horrifically cruel, vicious and disgusting things to all manner of people for millennia – all in the name of GOD (any god they follow, that is).
When will humanity learn that organised religion (whatever you personally believe about a deity of some sort) is just another way for an elite to grab and hold power and, like almost ALL megalomaniacs, they lie through their teeth to the gullible in order to back it all up?
No argument from me…..but humans seem to need that little slice of…..whatever it is…….we seem to be afraid to try and live without it…..
Sam from Australia just reading a few comments and a believer in god myself as well as regular church attendance and also involved previous in the orthodox youth group. Religion is bullshit but a faith isn’t. I agree with a lot that has been said. The bible doesn’t in no way allow what these heinous cock suckers do. It is a good book to turn to when the chips are really down and it has proven to have saved a lot of souls from drugs or life’s of crime.
I hate how these mother fuckers used a good book to create a religion to allow them to get away with what they do. Over the centuries the christian heretics have used it as a sort of power to control people. I particular hate the catholic church which also had a lot to do with the Spanish inquisition and a few wars here and there. Catholic member ship in Europe has gone down to around 4% believers and this is forcing them to sell a lot of real estate off. I have how ever met some good nuns who look after battered women and help the starving. This stuff about reaming sexless is utter bullshit. It was introduced around 1000 years ago but didn’t before that. So the truth is it was man made and not by God. The catholic church should have never come into existence but was a last grab by the Romans as a power source.
