Wolves In Priest Clothing

One of the biggest stories this past week was abuse cases in Baltimore.

Yet another scandal involving the Catholic Church…..sexual abuse, in cased you were confused….

This time it is the archdiocese of Baltimore and the number of cases is greater than 500….

Maryland’s attorney general released the results Wednesday of a four-year state investigation into the sexual abuse and torture of children by clergy members and employees of the Archdiocese of Baltimore. The report covers the totality of 80 years of mistreatment, during which it says 156 members of Catholic clergy abused at least 600 children, CNN reports. From the 1940s through 2002, the report says, they “engaged in horrific and repeated abuse of the most vulnerable children in their communities while Archdiocese leadership looked the other way.” At a news conference, Anthony Brown pronounced Wednesday “a day of reckoning and a day of accounting.”

The investigation found that one deacon admitted abusing more than 100 children, the Baltimore Sun reports. Even after the Rev. John Joseph Mike pleaded guilty to abusing a boy, he was assigned to a parish in Clarksville. A victim wrote in his diary that Mike tied him up, suspended him from a basketball backboard in the parish gym, and whipped him 150 times. Hundreds of abuse survivors were interviewed for the investigation; the state report called the scope of the abuse “astonishing.” Brown met with advocates and survivors Wednesday to hear their accounts. “What was consistent throughout the stories was the absolute authority and power these abusive priests and the church leadership held over survivors, their families and their communities,” he said.

In many cases, the report says, the archdiocese knew of the abusers but did little to stop them. They often were transferred to new jobs, even after admitting to abuse, where they mistreated more children. When looking into abuse, the report said, police, prosecutors, and local news media often treated church leaders with deference. The attorney general said many of the abusers have since died or can’t be prosecuted because of statutes of limitations. “While it may be too late for the survivors to see criminal justice served, we hope that exposing the archdiocese’s transgressions to the fullest extent possible will bring some measure of accountability and perhaps encourage others to come forward,” Brown said.

When will the church start making these perverts pay for the crimes?

After all these religious types are sexual predators….plain and simple.

More Trouble For Hefner

Hugh Hefner one of the founders of the ‘girlie” magazine has been dead for years but now there is a push to bring some of his abuses to light.

And the saga goes something like this…..

A new 10-part docuseries paints Hugh Hefner as a rapist who drugged women at his Playboy mansion—and Playboy says it supports those accusing Hef of sexual misconduct. “We trust and validate women and their stories, and we strongly support the individuals who have come forward to share their experiences,” it posted in an open letter over the weekend. “The Hefner family is no longer associated with Playboy, and today’s Playboy is not Hugh Hefner’s Playboy. Today, our organization is run by a workforce that is more than 80% female, and together we are building upon the aspects of our legacy that have made a positive impact, including serving as a platform for free expression and a convener of safe conversations on sex, inclusion and freedom.” More on A&E’s Secrets of Playboy:

  • Who’s involved: Multiple former Playmates, others associated with the magazine and Hefner’s empire, and former girlfriends of Hefner were interviewed, CNN reports. Among those is Sondra Theodore, a girlfriend of Hef’s from the late 1970s, who calls him a “vampire” who “sucked the life out of all these young girls for decades.”
  • What’s described: Another former girlfriend, Holly Madison of The Girls Next Door, describes a “cult-like atmosphere” around Hef, including people who made sure what happened at the Playboy mansion stayed there and Hef’s name stayed pristine in the media. Others, including a former exec, echo those allegations. Rampant drug and alcohol use, including by those under 21, is also alleged.
  • Bestiality and snuff films? Theodore says she once walked in on Hefner engaging in sexual activities with her dog, the New York Post reports. And a former “bunny mother” says she once saw Hef force a woman to give oral sex to a German shepherd. Hefner is also alleged to have been into snuff films, the Daily Beast reports.
  • More disturbing allegations: Women say they were forced into sex with Hefner and, sometimes, others (both male and female) while Hefner watched, often without using protection. Some women were allegedly pressured to get plastic surgery, and Hef allegedly berated women abusively, including Madison, over their appearance.
  • Bill Cosby: Cosby, a good friend of Hefner’s, gets brought up by the former bunny mother, who says the comedian sodomized her so violently she bled. Men who frequented Playboy clubs and the mansion were also accused of drugging and raping dozens of women, with Hefner being accused of “pimping out” women to some of them.
  • “Protections” in place: Hefner allegedly hid cameras around the Playboy mansion and threatened to release photos and videos of “depraved” sex acts if anyone spoke out against him. Madison says Hefner blackmailed her with photos and that was why she stayed with him for so long. Hef’s widow and fellow former Girls Next Door star, Crystal Hefner, confirmed that she found “thousands” of such photos after his death and destroyed them all, People reports.
  • The rest of the ‘Girls’: Bridget Marquardt, an original Girl Next Door alongside Madison, is also in the docuseries, but Kendra Wilkinson, the third original star of the E! reality show, is not, Distractify reports. Crystal Hefner, who was Crystal Harris at the time, joined the series later, as did twins Kristina and Karissa Shannon, who spoke to Radar in advance of the A&E docuseries’ premiere.
  • Defense: Hefner’s son, Cooper, has come to his defense, E! reports. “These salacious stories are a case study of regret becoming revenge,” he says. At least one former Playmate also insisted the allegations are untrue, the New York Post reports.
  • Same-sex affair: Multiple people also allege in the docuseries that Hefner was in love and had a sexual affair with his male physician and best friend

I am sorry….but the man is dead and cannot defend himself….these allegations may well be true and if they are it is intolerable ….but where were these allegations when the supposed acts took place?

That Other ‘Pandemic’

No this is not a further saturation of Covid news…let’s be real….no one in Peoria gives a toss about Buffalo and their Covid response…..instead this is a post on another pandemic that gets NO press…..

A pandemic of sex assault in the military….and yes it is reaching pandemic portions…..

Vanessa Guillen, a 20-year-old Army specialist stationed at Fort Hood Army Base in Texas, was killed, a scathing official review found that “there was a permissive environment for sexual assault and sexual harassment.”

But Fort Hood was no outlier. Wherever you find US military personnel, you find sexual misconduct – at recruiting stations, boot camp, and the acclaimed academic bastions of the armed forces – the US Military Academy at West Point, the Air Force Academy and the Naval Academy at Annapolis; on bases in the United States and off them, too; in American cities and in foreign locales from Australia to the United Arab Emirates; in remote war zones and on ships at sea; among senior leadership and the against men and women, boys and girls, lesbian, gay, bisexual, and straight people.

Formal reports of sexual assaults by US military personnel have steadily increased since 2006. But the available figures are known to be drastic undercounts. The Veterans Administration reports that 1 in 4 women in the armed forces experience military sexual trauma (MST) – sexual assault or repeated threats of sexual harassment by fellow service members, while a 2016 meta-analysis of 69 studies to determine the prevalence of the assault of service members by their peers concluded that 38.4% of female military personnel and veterans are survivors.

A Pandemic of Sexual Assault in the Military?

Basically the military leaders are doing little to get justice for those attacked and in most cases are part of a massive cover-up.

We do not condone this is a civil society then why do we ignore it when it happens in the military?

This is a problem that is in desperately need of attention and a sustainable solution.

Sex And The Freedom Caucus

Since in inception the Freedom Caucus has shown to be anything but a good spokesman for Freedom.

It seems that sexual abuse is around for two of the most vocal members of the Caucus….

First there is Jim (Gym) Jordan and the allegations that he looked the other way during sexual abuse on the OSU wrestling team while Jordan was a coach.

A former Ohio State wrestler has accused Rep. Jim Jordan — one of the most powerful conservatives in Congress — of knowingly ignoring sexual abuse allegations while Jordan was a wrestling coach at Ohio State University.

In April, Ohio State announced it was opening an investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct against its former wrestling team physician, Dr. Richard Strauss. 

Strauss, who served as the team’s doctor from the mid-1970s to the late 1990s, died in 2005. Jordan, an Ohio Republican first elected to the House in 2006, worked as an assistant wrestling coach at Ohio State from 1987 until 1995.

Jordan has been contacted by officials investigating the abuse allegations but he has not yet responded, according to a spokeswoman for the law firm representing Ohio State.

Now Jordan’s buddy and co-member of the Freedom Caucus, Matt Gaetz has been cited in a sex trafficking case……and of course there is a good excuse…..

Rep. Matt Gaetz has confirmed that he is under federal investigation for “sexual conduct with women”—but he says the allegations “are as searing as they are false.” The conservative Florida Republican confirmed the investigation to Axios hours after the New York Times reported that investigators are looking into whether the 38-year-old had a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old girl and violated sex-trafficking laws by paying for her to travel with him. Sources told the Times that the Justice Department investigation was opened during the final months of the Trump administration. The sources said the Gaetz investigation was connected to the investigation of Gaetz associate Joel Greenberg, a former tax collector in Florida who was indicted last year on charges including sex trafficking of a child.

“I have a suspicion that someone is trying to recategorize my generosity to ex-girlfriends as something more untoward,” Gaetz tells the Times. Gaetz, who has not been charged, tells Axios that the allegations are part of “an extortion effort against my family for $25 million.” He says there are “people at the Department of Justice who are trying to criminalize my sexual conduct, you know when I was a single guy.” He announced his engagement in December. Gaetz says he definitely “provided” for women he dated and paid for flights and hotel rooms, but he is “absolutely confident” none of them were underage. Earlier Tuesday, Axios reported that sources said Gaetz, who was first elected to the House in 2016, was considering leaving Congress before the next election to take a job at Newsmax.

Like all good cowards….he will run for cover in the conspiracy world of NewsMax.

Alabama has joined the list of states that will punish sex offenders they will be forced to undergo chemical castration……

Males convicted of a sex offense against a child under the age of 13 in Alabama will be forced to undergo chemical castration in the month before they’re released from custody. Republican Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey on Monday signed into law the bill passed by the state legislature on May 30, which forces offenders to pay out of pocket for chemical castration via oral medication or injection, which interferes with the production of testosterone, unless a court decides an offender is unable to pay, per CNN. The effects—an inability to perform sexual acts and limited sexual interest—are reversed once treatment stops, but it’ll be up to a court to determine when this might happen. Any offenders who stop treatment on their own will be found in violation of parole and returned to custody.

“This bill is a step toward protecting children in Alabama,” Ivey said, per CNN. Randall Marshall of the ALCU of Alabama instead believes the law may be a form of cruel and unusual punishment. “It’s not clear that this actually has any effect and whether it’s even medically proven,” and “when the state starts experimenting on people, I think it runs afoul of the Constitution,” he tells AL.com. The bill’s author, GOP Rep. Steve Hurst, who initially called for surgical castration, counters that many victims of sexual abuse support the law, which follows similar ones on the books in seven states and Guam, per NBC News. GOP Sen. Cam Ward adds it will likely apply only to a small group of offenders as most people convicted in such cases are not considered for parole.

I am sorry but this does not “protect children” as promised by the governor…..in my opinion.

The urges are still there and though he may not have the “junk” to carry out his urges he will find other means of satisfying those urges…..use objects like bottles to “get off”.

I do not have the answers to this problem….but I just do not believe this will not solve the problem no matter the promises.

I live in Mississippi and I have been hard on my local representatives….I think they, like their cousins in DC, are a spineless, gutless bunch…..but with all the drama around over abortion and tax cuts for corporations and the killing of some medical services for the poor they still have time for sex……

A Mississippi lawmaker is accused of drunkenly punching his wife in the face, and all because cops say he didn’t think she undressed for sex quickly enough. The Clarion Ledger reports GOP Rep. Doug McLeod was arrested over the weekend in Lucedale, and a George County Sheriff’s Department report seen by the Sun Herald reveals some disturbing details. Deputies say when they responded to a domestic violence call at McLeod’s home around 9pm Saturday, an apparently intoxicated McLeod opened the door, holding a boozy beverage and proclaiming, “Are you kidding me?” at the sight of the officers. He was slurring his speech and had trouble walking, per the report, and inside the home, deputies found his shaking, scared wife, her face bloodied from what cops say was a punch to the nose by McLeod. Deputies say they also found blood on the couple’s bed and on the bedroom floor.

Another woman present told cops McLeod’s wife had run to her room, and the two women barricaded themselves inside, with McLeod allegedly yelling from the hall to the second woman that he would “kill her [expletive] dog.” McLeod’s wife told cops her husband had “just snapped” as he often does while drinking. McLeod, 58, was charged with misdemeanor domestic violence and is free on $1,000 bail, but he’s apparently not taking many calls. “I have attempted to contact Rep. McLeod to request his resignation, if in fact, these allegations are true,” GOP House Speaker Philip Gunn said Tuesday, calling McLeod’s alleged behavior “unacceptable for anyone,” per the AP. Gov. Phil Bryant also weighed in, calling allegations of abuse “reprehensible,” per WJTV. Bryant “trusts local authorities to … thoroughly investigate this matter,” per a statement from his office.

I am so proud that we make political news like this…..and a GOPer to boot!

Military Sexual Assault

This is a story that should not exist…..

There is a long history of sexual assault in our military and most of it has gone under-reported and in recent years this situation has come to the forefront of reporting (usually when there is little happening on the world stage and it is used as a filler)

Even a US Senator had been assaulted when she was in the military….

Sen. Martha McSally, the first female fighter pilot to fly in combat, said Wednesday that she was raped in the Air Force by a superior officer, the AP reports. The Arizona Republican, a 26-year military veteran, made the disclosure at a Senate hearing on the armed services’ efforts to prevent sexual assaults and improve the response when they occur. McSally said she did not report being sexually assaulted because she did not trust the system, and she said she was ashamed and confused. McSally did not name the officer who she says raped her. “I stayed silent for many years, but later in my career, as the military grappled with the scandals, and their wholly inadequate responses, I felt the need to let some people know I too was a survivor,” she said, choking up as she detailed what had happened to her.

“I was horrified at how my attempt to share generally my experiences was handled,” she continued. “I almost separated from the Air Force at 18 years of service over my despair. Like many victims, I felt like the system was raping me all over again.” McSally’s revelation comes not long after Sen. Joni Ernst, R-Iowa, detailed her own abuse and assault, and at a time of increased awareness over the problem of harassment and assault in the armed forces. Reports of sexual assaults across the military jumped nearly 10% in 2017—a year that also saw an online nude-photo sharing scandal rock the Defense Department. McSally said she shares in the disgust of the failures of the military system and many commanders who have failed to address the problems of sexual misconduct.

Even with special reports and testimony from those abused you would think that the military would clean up their act……you would think, right?

Figures show 20,500 instances of unwanted sexual contact occurred in 2018, up from 14,900 in 2016 which is the last time a survey was conducted.

Alcohol was involved in one third of cases, and female recruits ages 17 to 24 are at the highest risk of attack.

On Thursday, Acting Defence Secretary Patrick Shanahan directed the military to “criminalise” sexual harassment.

Sexual harassment can fall within other legal violations of military behaviour, but is not yet a “stand-alone” criminal offence.

The directive from Mr Shanahan was among a series of other recommendations, released in a memo on Thursday.

“Sexual assault is illegal and immoral, is inconsistent with the military’s mission and will not be tolerated,” he wrote.

Big Business In America

Awhile back in my comment section our conversation turned to underage brides….and then I read a research paper about the industry of underage sex here in America.

On that point I need to correct something I wrote…..I said that Montana was allowing child brides and I was mistaken…..here is the facts….

Montana law sets the minimum age for marriage at 16 years old with judicial approval and 18 without it. Most states set the minimum age at 18 with exceptions for those between the ages of 16 and 18, according to a recent survey from the National Conference of State Legislatures comparing the marriage laws in all 50 states.

Underage sex in the US!

This is America’s dirty little secret.

Sex trafficking—especially when it comes to the buying and selling of young girls—has become big business in America, the fastest growing business in organized crime and the second most-lucrative commodity traded illegally after drugs and guns.

As investigative journalist Amy Fine Collins notes,

“It’s become more lucrative and much safer to sell malleable teens than drugs or guns. A pound of heroin or an AK-47 can be retailed once, but a young girl can be sold 10 to 15 times a day—and a ‘righteous’ pimp confiscates 100 percent of her earnings.”

Consider this: every two minutes, a child is exploited in the sex industry.

According to USA Today, adults purchase children for sex at least 2.5 million times a year in the United States.

Who buys a child for sex? Otherwise ordinary men from all walks of life.

“They could be your co-worker, doctor, pastor or spouse,” writes journalist Tim Swarens, who spent more than a year investigating the sex trade in America.

In Georgia alone, it is estimated that 7,200 men (half of them in their 30s) seek to purchase sex with adolescent girls each month, averaging roughly 300 a day.

This situation is despicable and yet it is a booming business…..and few Americans seem to care….time for this to come out of the shadows by shining the light of justice (maybe not with this DoJ)……

Sex with animals…..a disgusting act by disgusting people…..

A story that is being reported is one that is something out of the movie “Deliverance”……

WTF?

Three men who forced a teenager to restrain nine female horses, a cow, a goat and dogs while they had sex with the animals have been jailed for decades.

Matthew Brubaker, 31, Terry Wallace, 41, and Marc Measnikoff, 34, were all sentenced to 20 to 41 years in prison on Monday after regularly abusing at least 12 animals for years.

The discovery was made after police were called to a remote “makeshift farm” where the men all lived in Munson, Pennsylvania, in August 2018, according to Clearfield County District Attorney’s Office.

They were arrested after a 16-year-old boy living at the property told police the men had been having sex with the animals in a specially-designed V-shaped pen.

Officers found a “large volume of homemade videos, recording equipment and cameras”.

The men were charged with more than 1,400 counts relating to sexual intercourse with animals, cruelty to animals, endangering the welfare of children, and corruption of minors. 

Clearfield County District Attorney William Shaw said it was one of the most extreme cases of animal abuse he had handled.

A Pope Speaks

The Church has had many problems with sexual abuse recently and as usual the way they handle it is by sweeping the incidents under a rug and move on to the next abuse case.

An ex-Pope has decide to come out of retirement and throw his two cents around……as if anyone will listen…..

Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI has emerged from the shadows with a new letter that assigns blame for the clergy abuse crisis. In a 6,000-word letter whose authenticity was confirmed by Benedict’s personal secretary, Benedict begins by writing that his remarks are intended “to assist in this difficult hour.” At the National Review, Michael Brendan Dougherty succinctly follows the thread of his argument: that the “revolutionary spirit” of the ’60s made its way into the church. “Possessed by that spirit, arrogant theologians determined on creating ‘another Church’ destroyed the traditional moral theology of the Faith, leading to a complete breakdown of moral discipline in the clergy and even a generalized spirit of blasphemy, which Benedict intimately and unforgettably connects with the phenomenon of child abuse,” Dougherty writes. Here are major quotes from the letter and some reaction to it:

In pointing a finger at the sexual revolution of the 1960s, Benedict writes that graphic sex education and porn became commonplace as a result of the “egregious event,” and “the mental collapse was also linked to a propensity for violence. That is why sex films were no longer allowed on airplanes because violence would break out among the small community of passengers. … Part of the physiognomy of the Revolution of ’68 was that pedophilia was then also diagnosed as allowed and appropriate.”

He goes on to detail the “collapse” of Catholic moral theology “that rendered the Church defenseless against these changes in society,” citing the “vehement backlashes” by theologians against a 1993 encyclical commissioned by Pope John Paul II. Ultimately, he blames the crisis on the abandonment of God in modern society: “Western society is a society in which God is absent in the public sphere and has nothing left to offer it. And that is why it is a society in which the measure of humanity is increasingly lost. At individual points it becomes suddenly apparent that what is evil and destroys man has become a matter of course.” The Washington Post notes Benedict’s letter “shows the unprecedented and awkward position facing the ideologically divided Roman Catholic Church, which has—for the first time in six centuries—two potential authority figures who hold sometimes-differing views.” It goes on to size one pope’s response up against another, noting Francis has taken a much different approach than Benedict’s theology- and history-based one, focusing on “the corrupted power of clergy and … systemic problems that result in coverup.” The National Catholic Reporter rounds up criticism from theologians who called out the letter for not addressing “structural issues that abetted abuse cover-up, or Benedict’s own contested 24-year role as head of the Vatican’s powerful doctrinal office.”

At the National Review, Dougherty raises a different point. “The very fact of this letter—its lucidity and depth of thoughts—can’t help but inspire a question from Catholics. Why did this man resign from the office of the papacy? The stated fears were ones of incapacity, but in this letter, he demonstrates an acute view of the Church.”

Why not?  Boomers are being blamed for everything else that goes wrong from dandruff to the crucifixion….. then why not sexual abuse by priests?

Benedict needs to go back to his lavish villa and spend the rest of his days in contemplation on WW2….or go to the Papal work shop and build a desk or something…..but stay silent and polish those Gucci shoes.
