Minnesota Republican Rep. Michele Bachmann, following Rush’s cue, suggested on Tuesday that President Obama was to blame for the swine flu crisis. She went even farther than the talk show host, implying that swine flu epidemics are a Democratic phenomenon that dates back to President Carter.
“I find it interesting that it was back in the 1970s that the swine flu broke out then under another Democrat president Jimmy Carter. And I’m not blaming this on President Obama, I just think it’s an interesting coincidence.”
A small thing is that the outbreak she cites was during the Ford years, not Carter. Once again she refuses to let facts get in the way.
This woman is a moron and one of the saddest excuses for a congressperson in American history? How did someone that stupid get elected? What exactly is so “interesting” about another public health scare? It’s disgusting that she tried to use a health epidemic to get a little political attention.
She’s an attention whore, at best.
I agree but then I ask that same question of many of the elected officials. I now know that John Stuart Mill was a genius when he said, “I am not saying that conservatives are stupid, but most stupid people are conservatives.”
