Police Reality Takes It In The Butt

No Pun Intended!

Police Reality TV has had better days.

All the protests and accusations of police brutality it appears that some networks are dropping their police reality programming…..’Live PD and the all-time longest cop show…… “Cops”……

A&E Network has canceled the police reality series Live PD following weeks of protests over the death of George Floyd and a report that a crew from the show filmed the death of another black man in police custody. The cable network announced the move Wednesday, a day after the similar show Cops, on the air for 33 seasons, was dropped by the Paramount Network, the AP reports. “This is a critical time in our nation’s history and we have made the decision to cease production on Live PD,” A&E said in a statement. “Going forward, we will determine if there is a clear pathway to tell the stories of both the community and the police officers whose role it is to serve them.”

The cancellation also comes a day after a reports from the Austin American-Statesman and KVUE-TV that 40-year-old Javier Ambler, who was black, died in Texas last year after sheriff’s deputies repeatedly used stun guns on him, despite his cries for help and pleas that he was sick and couldn’t breathe. Prosecutors investigating Ambler’s death said the presence of the Live PD crew made the arrest, which was captured on police body-camera video obtained by the news outlets, particularly troubling. A&E said in a previous statement that its video never aired because of a policy against showing a death, and it did not keep the footage after it was informed the initial investigation had closed.

Good Riddance!

The IQ of the viewing public just went up by 50 points.

Now can we get to work on the rest of the drivel that goes by the name of Reality TV?

When we take those out we can then concentrate on Game Shows.

Could It Get Any More Petty?

No secret that I do not think much of the White House, its occupants or its staff…..the man in charge is as petty as they come he picks on people, bullies subordinates, insults other Americans that do not agree with him…..and just when I do not think he or his sycophants could get any more petty….they surprise me….especially the leader of the “Free World”……

I thought it was just pathetic when Trump announced that if Session ran in Alabama that he, Trump, would rail against his a fellow GOPer…..and I thought Trump was a mental midget when he called Beto a poor bastard when he dropped out of the race…..and Trump was silly to want the AG to call a press conference to announce that he, Trump, was innocent of the charges being leveled in the House…..but I read a story that takes the cake for pettiness and moronic….

According to a report in the Daily Beast, Donald Trump has been keeping in touch with the creator of the ‘Apprentice‘ TV show over the possibility of re-booting the reality show as a White House version.

The reports states, “Since taking office in early 2017, the president has confided to close associates that he misses hosting ‘The Apprentice’ and ‘The Celebrity Apprentice’ on NBC, the reality TV staples he left behind to become the Republican Party standard-bearer and then the leader of the free world.”

Reportedly, the president has spoken with Mark Burnett, the show’s creator, and has fond memories of his time on the show that helped launch his persona as a tough businessman and demanding boss.

“According to three people with knowledge of the situation and another source close to Trump, ‘Apprentice’ creator Mark Burnett and the president have sporadically kept in touch, mostly over the phone,” the Beast reports. “One of the ideas kicked around by Burnett and the president was shooting a new version of the Trump-branded ‘Apprentice,’ tentatively titled ‘The Apprentice: White House,’ and to produce it shortly after the president leaves office. This time, however, the TV program would be explicitly politics-themed and take full advantage of Trump’s status as a former president of the United States and a newfound Republican kingmaker.”

Apparently this is a serious want…….this is just silly the leader of the Free World the host of some damn silly Reality Show.

A Step Closer To Trump TV

Recently the Trump adviser Bannon has chastised the media for their constant scrutiny….

White House strategist Steve Bannon granted the New York Times an interview this week, and the main topic appears to have been how much he hates the New York Times and the rest of the news media. “The media should be embarrassed and humiliated and keep its mouth shut and just listen for a while,” the former Breitbart chair said. “I want you to quote this. The media here is the opposition party. They don’t understand this country. They still do not understand why Donald Trump is the president of the United States.” He said the media had gotten the election “dead wrong,” making it a “humiliating defeat that they will never wash away, that will always be there.”

Bannon—who jokingly referred to himself as Darth Vader—described unspecified editors and reporters as “outright activists of the Clinton campaign,” telling the Times: “That’s why you have no power. You were humiliated.” He staunchly defended new White House press secretary Sean Spicer, saying it was a “badge of honor” to have the media question his integrity. “The media has zero integrity, zero intelligence, and no hard work,” Bannon said. At CNN, Jake Tapper’s response to Bannon’s request to shut up was a simple “No,” while the ACLU tweeted that it will see the Trump administration in court if it tries to shut the media up. Erik Wemple at the Washington Post wrote that since Bannon “helmed a campaign heavy on deceit, division, and cynicism, we don’t want any praise from his likes.”

Since I wrote those posts another incident has occurred….this time it is the VOA that made the news…..

But it’s not the money that VOA gets that is worth noting; it’s the changes in its mandate. What used to be a propaganda machine directed externally is now going to be turned inward on the homeland. Is this what Trump meant by “American First. Always America First”? You see, the new VOA is going to be allowed to operate in the United States and it is no longer going to be run by an independent board of governors. It will be headed by a CEO appointed by the president. Yes, it’s Donald Trump’s personal broadcasting network, just like he wanted during the campaign, but paid for by you and me—we who can’t afford PBS and NPR at half the cost. But what propaganda could the VOA broadcast to people who already believe in freedom?

About now the reader is thinking that I have gone off the deep end or something….let me explain what the VOA has to do with is situation….Voice of America (VOA) no longer is controlled by a non-partisan board but rather a CEO appointed by the president…that means Trump holds the keys to what is reported on VOA…in essence he has his News Network at his disposal.

The news will soon reflect the personal characteristics of the man himself….

  • Exaggerating your achievements and talents
  • Being preoccupied with fantasies about success, power, brilliance, beauty or the perfect mate
  • Believing that you are superior and can only be understood by or associate with equally special people

  • Having a sense of entitlement
  • Expecting special favors and unquestioning compliance with your expectations
  • Taking advantage of others to get what you want
  • Having an inability or unwillingness to recognize the needs and feelings of others
  • Being envious of others and believing others envy you
  • Behaving in an arrogant or haughty manner

That’s right…..Trump now has control over a media outlet…..how will it be used?

My last post of the day is a disturbing one, at least for me……

My daughter is a big fan of Cesar Millan, the Dog Whisperer, she enjoys watching him turn bad dogs into good dogs…..it is her little guilty pleasure…….so it was not nice of me to break the news of his investigation into his possible abuse of an animal……

A strange turn of events for the “Dog Whisperer”: Police say they’re investigating Cesar Millan for alleged animal cruelty after Millan’s Nat Geo Wild show Cesar 911 featured a dog attacking a pig during a training exercise. “There was a complaint that we received and we are investigating the matter,” an LA County Animal Control rep tells TheWrap. TMZ reports officials visited Millan’s Dog Psychology Center in Santa Clarita on Thursday night to check on the health of the pig after receiving “numerous complaints.” However, Millan was out of town on a business trip at the time, reports NBC Los Angeles. Officials say Millan was then given 24 hours to get in touch with investigators. It isn’t clear if he has now done so.

The episode showed a French bulldog/terrier mix named Simon, who had previously attacked its owner’s potbellied pigs, biting the ear of a pig when introduced to the animal. “It was really difficult to watch,” says a professional dog trainer. “It’s not the way to rehabilitate an animal that is fearful and aggressive to pigs.” A pair of Change.orgpetitions are calling for the show to be cancelled. Nat Geo Wild, however, says viewers “did not see or understand the full context of the encounter.” It adds “Cesar took precautions” and the pig “was tended to immediately afterward, healed quickly, and showed no lasting signs of distress.” A clip from the same episode shows Simon calmly interacting with the pig after the attack.

I am a dog lover…..and I do not believe this guy’s hype even before this incident…..if this is true then he needs to be charged and sent to a jury …..then call me for a punishment…..

Eaten Alive! What Crap!

It is the weekend and as usual I will get on a soapbox for a couple of days.

Are the American people so damn stupid as to believe that this was actually going to happen?  A man to be eaten by a snake alive on TV.  If so….PT Barnum was right about a sucker……

Eaten Alive, the Discovery Channel special that was supposed to feature Paul Rosolie being swallowed whole, then regurgitated, by an anaconda, aired last night … but Rosolie’s encounter with the giant snake didn’t exactly go down as planned. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Rosolie spent most of the two-hour special searching for an anaconda he first saw years ago, one he believes to be the biggest on Earth at at least 25 feet. In his first on-camera encounter with the snake, he jumped on its back but had to jump off when he was dragged into the water. After another encounter during which Rosolie grabbed its tail but couldn’t hang on, he determined it would be safer to settle for a smaller anaconda. He put on his pig-blood-soaked protective suit, and the snake (a 20-footer that was already in captivity, according to People) coiled around him. Then, just as the snake opened its jaws onto Rosolie’s helmet, he called the whole thing off and was rescued.

“I felt her jaws lock onto my helmet,” he explained afterward. “I felt her gurgling and wheezing but then I felt her let go. She got my arm into a position where her force was fully on my exposed arm. I started to feel the blood drain out of my hand and I felt the bone flex, and when I got to the point where I felt like it was going to snap I had to tap out.” He says he couldn’t move and, at one point, couldn’t feel his arms; his heart rate went higher than 180. Twitter exploded with complaints after Rosolie called off the stunt, Us reports, with one viewer noting, “Calling it #EatenAlive is like having a show on the Food Network about cooking a turkey and all they do after 2 hours is preheat the oven.” But Rosolie says he accomplished what he set out to—being eaten alive was just the hook, he explains. “I wanted to do something to grab people’s attention to the plight of the disappearing rainforests,” he explained earlier this month. “Something completely crazy.” And, yes, the snake is fine; as for Rosolie, he was “pretty beaten up,” he tells Discovery. Time for the media to start taking the responsibility for being a good purveyor of news and entertainment…..this piece of crap was neither.

It was pure sensationalism plain and simple……..time has come to keep this type of garbage off the airways….we already have enough trash in the form of Reality TV……which by its presence has lower the global IQ by 20 points.

One more thing to consider……did they starve that snake to make him hunger enough to consider eating a full grown human?  Or did they just torment it until it struck out?  No matter what technique they used….they should be investigated for cruelty!

That snake belongs where they captured it…in the Amazon.

To use that animal for some moronic reality show is just pathetic….stunts like this just illustrates the depravity of the media in their search for ratings….don’t know about you but this whole thing is disgusting!
