The midterms from Mississippi….who cares right?

I live there so I f*cking care!

There has been a back and forth for the office of US Senator from Mississippi….a racist white broad or a black guy with deep ties to DC….I said when the run-off was announced that Hyde-Smith would win no matter what her mouth did……and I was correct……

Mississippi failed to deliver the Democrats an Alabama-style upset in the last race of the 2018 midterms. Republican Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith defeated Democrat Mike Espy and will serve the remaining two years of Sen. Thad Cochran’s term. She is the first woman elected to Congress from Mississippi, the Clarion-Ledger reports. If Espy had won, he would have been the first African-American the state had elected to Congress since 1874, and the first Democratic senator elected in the state since 1982. The victory in the runoff gives Republicans control of 53 out of 100 seats in the Senate. Hyde-Smith had been widely expected to win, though the GOP had to pump funds into the state as the race narrowed in ts final weeks.

Hyde-Smith stuck to a strategy of appealing to President Trump’s core voters—and was rewarded for it, ABC reports. The president appeared at two of her rallies Monday night and she personally thanked him at her victory party Tuesday. “Mr. President, and I just talked to him so I know he’s watching, thank you so much for everything,” she said. The victory follows a divisive campaign that led to several corporate donors asking Hyde-Smith to return their donations, the AP reports. Hyde-Smith was recorded joking about attending a public hanging, and talking about making it “more difficult” for “liberal folks” to vote. (She accused Espy of using the hanging remarks as a “weapon.”)

Espy gave a good fight….but in Mississippi is will NEVER be enough to change the the minds of the racist folk that have a lock hold on government….the “good old boy” network is firmly in control……

A good fight will never be enough in Mississippi.

I listen to the victory speech…..and I laughed my ass off….what a pack of bullshit!

“Mississippi you know my heart and my mind”  yes they do and the vote shows they know exactly what she is….

“It was never about me it was about Mississippi”…..it is never about the state and everything about keeping power centered in the hands of the few racist old bastards that remain.

This vote guaranteed two things….a black man will never be good enough and the state will remain at the bottom of every list of good things.  PERIOD!

Sorry if that offends.

Mississippi Is Number One!

I wish I was talking about education or economics or jobs outlook….even football…..but unfortunately I am not talking about anything like that………this time we made the most unhealthy state……

Below is the article in the Clarion-Ledger, one of Mississippi’s more read newspapers…….

It’s time again for the United Health Foundation’s annual state health rankings report, and like last year, Mississippi comes in 50th.

Despite being a leader in telehealth and, historically, childhood vaccinations, Mississippi’s high rate of childhood poverty, obesity and cigarette smoking contributes to it being the unhealthiest state in the country, according to the 2017 America’s Health Rankings report.

Of the five categories examined in the report, Mississippi ranked overall 50th for one: clinical care. This has to do with Mississippi’s doctor shortage, lack of mental health providers and preventable hospitalizations.

(please the entire article it will give you an idea about the state)

I wish just once Mississippi could make it to a “Best” list……but that will not happen until we change the “good old boys” politics…..there is hope for my granddaughter’s generation to make that happen.

My day is over….I am worn out by health stuff and our politics…..time for me to call it a day and shut the ‘puter down…..see you guys tomorrow…..chuq

Some Voters Never Learn

From the “Can’t Fix Stupid” File!

Votes are counted in the Penis Primary and Mitt takes it with Newt a distant 2nd……..now please move on the world is turning the screws to millions of people and you rather listen to a person with NO ideas but knows the words to “America The Beautiful”…..was that his attempt to show that he is presidential?

I seldom post on the goings on in my state of Mississippi….mainly because I do not think that many readers give a Hell about the state and second, it is really hard for me to write about the state and its voters without using words like stupid….moronic….uninformed…..on and on.  Then there comes a time when I feel obligated to post on the politics in the state to help illustrate what happens when voters NEVER learn from the vote…..

Recently we voters in Mississippi elected a Repub, Phil Bryant the LT Governor to Halley Barbour and as usual he ran on a hyper conserv platform of anti-abortion, pro religion, tax cuts and education and slimming down government and of course….JOBS…..after the election I realized that this type of platform is the same platform that just about every Repub candidate has run on since the mid 80’s…….

I checked back in my scrapbook from my days of letters to the editor and such and found that in 1987 we elected Ray Mabus as governor and his platform was tax cuts, education and jobs……and in the years that followed nothing has changed……there are few jobs in Mississippi, the educational system has gotten worse and the tax cuts have created NOTHING but a wider divide between the rich and the poor…..

As I keep asking my readers, check out the stats…..Mississippi continues and is always at the very bottom of very “Best” list and the top of every “Worst” list….the people can thank themselves for being the most uninformed voters in the land…..and unfortunately, I see NO change in the foreseeable future.

Mississippians seem to always fall for the crap spread by their Repub leaders….the old political axiom of “tell them what they want to hear, not what they need to hear” is a winning combination, at least in the state that desperately needs new and better leadership……but unfortunately the state is so uninformed that it will never claw its way into the 21st century…..

My favorite quote….”Can’t fix stupid”…..and it is more accurate in some than in others…….

NOTE:  Watch for my breakdown of the issues that the Mississippi Legislature will be addressing….I call it the Good, the Bad and the Ugly….hopefully I will be doing them monthly……should be fun, if not irritating!
