Regime Change From 30,000 Feet

For a week the US and the Israelis have been plummeting Iran with airstrikes…..and the idea of this is not something Americans think is a good idea.

Americans are mostly lukewarm—or outright opposed—to Washington’s latest show of force against Iran. A new Reuters/Ipsos poll finds just 27% back the US strikes that killed Iran’s leader, while 43% disapprove and 29% aren’t sure. The survey, conducted as US and Israeli strikes were underway and before US casualties were announced, also shows 56% of Americans think President Trump is too quick to use military force, a view held by 87% of Democrats, 60% of independents, and 23% of Republicans.

Republicans are more supportive of the strikes overall, with 55% in favor and 13% opposed, but that backing appears conditional. About 42% in the party say they’d be less likely to support the campaign if American troops are killed or injured. Another 45% of all respondents—including roughly a third of Republicans—say rising gas or oil prices would erode their support. The poll of 1,282 adults, with a margin of error of about three points, comes as crude oil prices surged more than 8% and Trump’s approval rating dipped to 39%.

With all the rockets, missiles, drones and bombs who will become the ‘new’ leader of Iran?

President Trump reportedly is weighing a limited deployment of ground troops to Iran, with the installation of a postwar government a potential goal. But US intelligence analysts have warned that even a broad military offensive is unlikely to dislodge Iran’s ruling system, according to a classified assessment described to the Washington Post. The National Intelligence Council report, completed about a week before the US and Israel began their strikes on Feb. 28, concludes that Iran’s clerical and security institutions are structured to survive the loss of top leaders, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, three people familiar with the findings said.

The document examines possible outcomes of both limited strikes focused on senior figures and more extensive attacks on government and military infrastructure. In each case, the report says, Iran’s leadership would turn to established succession mechanisms aimed at preserving continuity of rule. The likelihood that Iran’s fractured opposition could take over was deemed unlikely, per the Post. “There’s no other force within Iran that can confront the remaining power that the regime has,” said Suzanne Maloney of the Brookings Institution. The NIC report, according to those familiar with it, does not view the Iranian system’s grip on power as fragile. Outside experts said there is little evidence so far of large-scale unrest or serious fractures within Iran’s security apparatus.

One expert who has studied air power for three decades said airstrikes alone aren’t likely to remove Iran’s government, either, per CBS News. “The fact of the matter is, for over a century, states have been trying to topple regimes with air power alone and—I’m choosing my words carefully— it has never worked,” said Robert Pape, a University of Chicago professor. The White House did not say whether Trump has been briefed on the intelligence assessment.

In other words to effect a complete regime change it will take boots on the ground and all the downside that comes with troops actively taking part in this war.

What will Donny do?

It Will Be All Over Soon

So Donny tells us in his usual lying way.

Just recently Donny has stated that this operation is pretty much complete….a highest magnitude lie.

President Trump suggested Monday that the war in Iran could be nearing the finish line. “I think the war is very complete, pretty much,” he told CBS News correspondent Weijia Jiang. “They have no navy, no communications, they’ve got no air force. Their missiles are down to a scatter. Their drones are being blown up all over the place, including their manufacturing of drones. If you look, they have nothing left. There’s nothing left in a military sense.” Trump previously said the war, now in its second week, could last four to five weeks. He said Monday, however, that it is “very far ahead of schedule.”

Asked about Iran’s new leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, Trump said, “I have no message for him. None, whatsoever.” He said he had a person in mind to replace him, but declined to elaborate In a post on X, Jiang said Trump told her he was thinking about “taking over the Strait of Hormuz. She said he told her, “They’ve shot everything they have to shoot, and they better not try anything cute or it’s going to be the end of that country.” Trump, who is scheduled to hold a press conference in Miami at 5:30pm Eastern, said wrapping up the war “is all in my mind, nobody else’s,” per the BBC.

It is all in his mind?  Perfect.

Everybody is looking for a good excuse for why this war has started…..of course mental midget Donny has a good one…..from his Monday press conference….

At a news conference Monday, President Trump was asked about his comments earlier in the day in which he told a reporter that the war was “very complete,” while the Pentagon said on social media: “We Have Only Just Begun to Fight.” Trump was asked whether it was the end or the beginning and said, “It’s the beginning of building a new country,” a comment that seemed to suggest the US might be engaged in the building of a new Iran, the AP reports. Trump suggested that the war was for the benefit of other nations, especially those dependent on oil that’s shipped through the Strait of Hormuz. “I mean, we’re doing this for the other parts of the world, including countries like China,” Trump said.

  • War over “pretty soon.” Trump said the war would be over “pretty soon,” but added: “We’ve already won in many ways, but we haven’t won enough.” He said the US was saving some of the “most important” targets, including Iran’s electrical grid, for later strikes, if necessary, France24 reports.
  • New nuclear site. Trump told reporters that the war with Iran began because that country was starting work on a new site for developing material for nuclear weapons. Trump said the new site was meant to replace facilities bombed last year by the US. “But they were starting work at another site, a different site, different kind of a site—and that was protected by granite,” Trump said. The president added that Iran wanted to use the “exponentially growing ballistic missile threat to make it virtually impossible to prevent them from obtaining a nuclear weapon,” claiming that Iran would have otherwise been able to take over the Middle East.
  • Iran would have attacked “within a week.” The president dismissed criticism from some Democratic officials that there was no reason for the US and Israel to strike Iran. “Well, I’ll give you the best reason of all. Within a week they were going to attack us, 100%. They were ready,” Trump said. He did not offer any information to support that statement but said Iran had “all these missiles, far more than anyone thought.” However, Trump administration officials told congressional staff in private briefings that US intelligence did not suggest Iran was preparing to launch a preemptive strike against the US, the AP reports.

We wait to see what Donny will do as soon as he can pull himself away from worrying about NCAA sports.

Iran: What’s Next?

Just two days into the attack on Iran the reports are the leader has been killed as well as 3 American and 5 others seriously injured.

The justification for this attack was of course the nuclear thing, but I thought we destroyed that capability last year’s attack and the trusty BS to help the Iranian people to live free.

So what on?

According to Donald Trump, Iranians have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. “The hour of your freedom is at hand,” he declared, as U.S. and Israeli warplanes pounded Iranian cities and the compound of the country’s supreme leader. “When we are finished, take over your government. It will be yours to take. This will probably be your only chance for generations.”

Trump’s comments made clear that America is seeking regime change. After decades of high tensions, tough recriminations and one-off attacks, Washington finally decided to try getting rid of the country’s government altogether — and it thinks ordinary Iranians will rise up and finish the job.

The country’s population, after all, is clearly fed up with the Islamic Republic. Over the last decade, Iranians have repeatedly staged mass demonstrations against the regime. Those protests typically only go away after the government responds with horrific force. In December and January, for example, hundreds of thousands of Iranians spent weeks demonstrating — until Iranian security officials shot and killed thousands of them. But now, American and Israeli warplanes are attacking Iran’s military and security apparatus and destroying other government institutions. They have killed the country’s supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, and many other top officials. The Trump administration seems to be betting that the Iranian people will soon take over the regime change process, resume protesting and successfully remove a greatly weakened government.

To gauge how likely that response might be, I spoke to political scientists and Iranian experts, all of whom would love to see “people power” usher in new leadership in Tehran. But they also expressed deep skepticism that even this massive air campaign could produce a successful uprising.

For starters, they told me, aerial bombing campaigns have a terrible record at fomenting regime change in any state. Second, Iran has powerful repressive organs with a lot of experience in putting down popular unrest. In addition, Iran’s bureaucracy has been expecting — and preparing for — American attacks for generations. And even if Washington does successfully fracture or defang the Islamic Republic, exhausted and shocked Iranians may be too frightened or focused on survival to flood the streets. The country’s political opposition remains weak, and it is famously fragmented.

Let’s be clear the US has never been a champion of democracy in Iran….it has always been about the oil….PERIOD!

It is too early to judge what will happen next…..for the airstrikes are still a threat and people will try not to wind up like the Palestinians.

Donny has made it clear that he wants more sacrifice from our troops….

Three US service members were killed in action during the joint attack on Iran, the Defense Department said Sunday, the first American casualties of the operation that began Saturday. “Sadly, there will likely be more before it ends,” President Trump said Sunday afternoon in a video message, per the New York Times. “That’s the way it is.” Five others were seriously wounded, the Washington Post reports. US Central Command posted on X that several troops “sustained minor shrapnel injuries and concussions and are in the process of being returned to duty.” The military did not release the names of those killed or any details but added that their identities will be released 24 hours after next of kin have been notified.

In the six-minute video, per the AP, Trump called the three service members killed “true American patriots who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation, even as we continue the righteous mission for which they gave their lives.” He also said that “until all of our objectives are achieved,” combat operations will continue “in full force.” He did not specify what the objectives are. More than 200 have been reported killed in Iran since the US and Israel struck by the Iranian Red Crescent Society, per Axios. Iran was firing ballistic missiles and drones Sunday against American bases and targets in the Middle East. “Our response effort is ongoing,” the US statement said, per CBS News. “My administration has taken every possible step to minimize the risk to US personnel in the region,” Trump had said Saturday.

I will be watching the events unfold.

“Peace President” Is At It Again

After some time of breast pounding the Idiot in the White House has started another war…..this time it is with our old nemesis Iran.

The US and Israel launched an attack Saturday on Iran, with the first apparent strike happening near the offices of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Iranian media reported strikes nationwide, and smoke could be seen rising from the capital. President Trump said in a video posted on social media that the US had begun “major combat operations in Iran,” the AP reports. He said Iran has continued to develop its nuclear program and plans to develop missiles to reach the US.

  • Trump said the US had launched a “massive” operation to “prevent this very wicked radical dictatorship from threatening America,” per the BBC. He acknowledged that there could be American casualties, saying “that often happens in war.”
  • “Our objective is to defend the American people by eliminating imminent threats from the Iranian regime, a vicious group of very hard, terrible people,” Trump said. “Its menacing activities directly endanger the United States, our troops, our bases overseas, and our allies throughout the world.”
  • Trump appealed to the Iranian people to “take over your government—it will be yours to take.” “This will be probably your only chance for generations,” he said. “For many years, you have asked for America’s help, but you never got it. No president was willing to do what I am willing to do tonight. Now you have a president who is giving you what you want, so let’s see how you respond.”
  • The New York Times reports that US officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, say the campaign could last for several days and it will be far more extensive than the strikes that targeted nuclear facilities last year. The sources say dozens of US strikes are being carried out from bases around the Middle East and at least one aircraft carrier.
  • It wasn’t immediately clear whether the 86-year-old Khamenei was in his offices at the time of the strike, the AP reports. He hasn’t been seen publicly in days as tensions with the US have grown. The US has assembled a vast fleet of fighter jets and warships in the region.
  • An Israeli official tells Reuters that the joint operation had been planned for months and the date of the attack was decided weeks ago. In a statement, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu thanked Trump for his “historic leadership” and said Israelis will need “endurance and fortitude” in the days ahead, with Iranian counterattacks expected, the BBC reports. “This murderous terrorist regime must not be armed with nuclear weapons that would allow it to threaten all of humanity,” Netanyahu said. Like Trump, he called for regime change, saying, “Our joint action will create the conditions for the courageous Iranian people to take their destiny into their own hands.”

How will this end?

The son of the Shah should be slobbering all over himself for he may get to be boss and make the Iranian people pay for what they did to his father.

Now there is Cuba…..should they be thinking ahead to a possible US strike and conflict?

Why The Boats?

Since September the US has been actively targeting small boats of the coast of Venezuela stated that they are ‘narco boats”…..but why now?

Here is a thought…..

We do not yet know with certainty that the US military targeted survivors of a boat strike at the Defense Secretary’s encouragement. But, we do know that the bombing in question was illegal, regardless.

Officially, Hegseth ordered that attack to combat drug trafficking. Since September, the administration has conducted more than 20 lethal strikes on boats in the Caribbean and eastern Pacific, killing over 80 people. In each case, the White House claimed that the targeted vessels were transporting narcotics on behalf of drug cartels, although they’ve presented no evidence to support those allegations.

Of course, the US military has not traditionally claimed the authority to summarily execute criminal suspects. When the government believes that an individual is selling illegal substances, it typically arrests that person and puts them on trial.

The Trump administration insists, however, that South America’s drug cartels should be considered terrorist organizations — and that each time these groups export narcotics across our border, they effectively commit an attack on US soil. Therefore, the US has the right to “secure our homeland from the drugs that are killing our people” by waging war against Venezuela’s narcoterrorists (and/or small fishing boats that could theoretically be carrying contraband).

This reasoning is absurd on its face. Supplying cocaine to Miami dance clubs and flying planes into New York skyscrapers are categorically different offenses. To define the former as an act of war is to drain that term of all meaning. In practice, it also entails empowering the president to kill anyone he suspects of engaging in illegal commerce. No past administration has ever asserted this authority, and no domestic or international legal body has ever affirmed its legitimacy.

What’s more, the president’s position isn’t just theoretically unsound but factually baseless. In justifying its campaign, the Trump administration has constantly invoked America’s overdose epidemic. In September, Hegseth called his missile strikes a “defense of the American people,” since “100,000 Americans were killed each year under the previous administration.” President Donald Trump, meanwhile, claimed that each individual speedboat the military has incinerated would have killed “25,000 American people” (a claim that is, of course, mathematically ludicrous).

Basically this is fodder for the press to keep them looking elsewhere.

I still wonder why attack a small boat that is carrying small amounts if at all….why not track them to the ‘carrier’ ship and take out a larger haul. if you feel you must attack.

But let’s be honest: Donald Trump does not care whether illegal, dangerous drugs enter the United States. He does not care that thousands of people have died after taking these drugs.

A Troubling Incident

By now most of us know about that second strike on those people in the water….and now we heard from the “Horse’s’ (Ass) mouth….

The military commander responsible for ordering a missile strike on survivors of an earlier drug boat strike was defending his decision-making Thursday to lawmakers in a closed session on Thursday, and a few early developments have surfaced:

No ‘kill’ order: Admiral Frank “Mitch” Bradley told lawmakers that Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth did not issue a “kill them all” order before the mission began, reports the AP. Bradley “was very clear that he was given no such order, to give no quarter or to kill them all,” said Sen. Tom Cotton, chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee, as he exited a classified briefing. The first report about the controversy suggested otherwise, saying Hegseth gave a verbal order to that effect

That was contrary to all reports about the strike and the order….who is he covering for?

I find the strike on people in the water after an attack troubling….and apparently I am not alone….

Lawmakers on Capitol Hill are demanding answers after viewing video footage of the controversial Sept. 2 US military strike in the Caribbean Sea. The footage, shown during a day of congressional meetings attended by Navy Adm. Frank M. Bradley, revealed that two alleged drug smugglers were attempting to flip their capsized boat before they were killed in a second strike by the US, lawmakers who viewed it told the Washington Post. The attack, the first in a series of US strikes on alleged “drug boats,” resulted in the deaths of 11 people and has raised serious questions about the legality and ethics of the operation. (The 22nd such strike took place Thursday after a nearly three-week pause, the AP reports. Four people were killed, bringing the total death toll to at least 87.)

Democrats, who emerged from the meetings alarmed, have called the incident “highly questionable” and vowed to continue investigations. Rep. Jim Himes of Connecticut described the footage as “one of the most troubling things I’ve seen in my time in public service,” noting that the survivors of the first strike were clearly in distress and posed no immediate threat when they were killed in the second strike, which was ordered by Bradley (reportedly after Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said to “kill them all,” though Bradley denied that during the meetings). Lawmakers say Bradley told them the two survivors did not appear to have any communications devices that would have allowed them to call for backup, CNN reports.

Republicans, on the other hand, have largely defended the operation. Sen. Tom Cotton of Arkansas argued that the strikes were “entirely lawful and needful,” and said he would have made the same decision. Legal experts and some military personnel have questioned whether the survivors, left clinging to the wreckage, could be considered legitimate targets under US and international law, which requires protection for incapacitated individuals. The Pentagon has so far declined to release the video publicly, but pressure is mounting for greater transparency and accountability.

I would expect a douche bag like Cotton to defend such action…..

Lawmakers who saw a video of a U.S. attack on wounded and helpless people clinging to the wreckage of a supposed drug boat on September 2 described the footage as deeply disturbing.

A small number of members of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and the Senate and House Armed Services committees, as well as some staff directors, saw the recording during closed-door briefings Thursday with Adm. Frank M. Bradley, the head of Special Operations Command, and Gen. Dan Caine, the chair of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

“What I saw in that room is one of the most troubling scenes I’ve ever seen in my time in public service,” said Rep. Jim Himes of Connecticut, the top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee. “You have two individuals in clear distress without any means of locomotion with a destroyed vessel who were killed by the United States.

Until Thursday, the only video of the attack that had been seen by lawmakers was an edited clip posted to the Truth Social account of President Donald Trump on September 2 announcing the strike. The edited clip captures the initial strike, showing a four-engine speedboat erupt in an explosion. It does not show the second strike on the wreckage of the vessel and the survivors — which was first reported by The Intercept.

Himes said the unedited video clearly shows the U.S. striking helpless people.

Video of U.S. Military Killing Boat Strike Survivors Is Horrifying, Lawmakers Reveal

This is very troubling.

It’s Called CYA.

This whole thing is making the rounds in the media about the ‘second attack’ on a suspected narc boat is getting interesting….it is about the moral consequences (I know that is not a thing for these fools have no morals).

This is how it has played out so far….

Pete Hegseth and the White House deny allegations that anything improper unfolded when special ops troops unleashed two separate missile strikes on a suspected drug boat—the second of which killed two survivors clinging to the wrecked vessel. But the issue only seems to be gaining steam. Background and opinions:

  • Background: On Friday, the Washington Post reported that Hegseth gave a verbal order to “kill everybody” on the boat in the Caribbean. Two men survived the first strike and were clinging to the damaged boat, and the mission commander then ordered the second strike to fulfill the “kill everybody” order, according to the newspaper.
  • Justification: “Because this administration has designated these narco-terrorists as foreign terrorist organizations, the president has a right to take them out if they are threatening the United States of America, and if they are bringing illegal narcotics that are killing our citizens at a record rate—which is what they are doing,” White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt said Monday, per Mediaite.

Not so fast, say critics:

  • In a post at Executive Functions, Jack Goldsmith spells out stipulations in the Department of Defense Law of War Manual and other regulations that expressly prohibit killing, or ordering the killing, of captured or wounded enemy combatants. “In short, if the Post’s facts are correct, it appears that Special Operations Forces committed murder when the ‘two men were blown apart in the water,’ as the Post put it,” writes Goldsmith.
  • Jennifer Rubin has a similar take at the Contrarian on Substack. “Putting aside for the moment the legitimacy of the underlying order to shoot these boats out of the water … it is impossible to imagine any Pentagon lawyer blessing this action,” she writes. “The concept of hors de combat—literally, out of combat—is a fundamental aspect of the law of war that prevents harming those disabled from combat.”
  • A detailed analysis at Just Security, also citing specific military rules, concludes that Hegseth’s “kill everybody” order and Adm. Frank Bradley’s subsequent order of the second strike were both “clearly unlawful,” and it puts the word “clearly” in boldface. “The Sept. 2 strikes on the purported drug boat neither violated the law of armed conflict nor amounted to war crimes, because they did not occur during an armed conflict,” reads the post. “However, if the facts are as reported, there is little question that the order by Secretary Hegseth and the ensuing order by Admiral Bradley to conduct the second strike were unlawful, because the killing of the two survivors was a serious violation of international human rights law.”

They want us to believe that a seasoned commanding officer called for a second strike to avoid retaliation from the survivors…..thinking…..just how were two people clinging to wrecking going to retaliate?

At a press conference…..

The White House on Monday defended as lawful two separate missile strikes on a suspected drug boat in the Caribbean, the second coming as two survivors clung to the vessel after the first strike. But White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt also clarified that the second strike order came from the special ops commander of the mission—Admiral Frank “Mitch” Bradley—and not from Hegseth directly, reports Mediaite.

  • President Trump and Secretary Hegseth have made it clear that presidentially designated narco-terrorist groups are subject to lethal targeting in accordance with the laws of war,” Leavitt told reporters, per the Hill. “With respect to the strikes in question on September 2, Secretary Hegseth authorized Adm. Bradley to conduct these kinetic strikes.”
  • On Friday, the Washington Post reported that Hegseth gave a verbal “kill everybody” order before the first strike. Bradley then ordered the second strike to fulfill that order, according to the story. The incident has raised questions about the legality of both, but Leavitt rejected those concerns, per Time. “Because this administration has designated these narco-terrorists as foreign terrorist organizations, the president has a right to take them out if they are threatening the United States of America,” she said.

The morons are scrambling to protect dipshit Hogsbreath from any blowback..,…the admiral will take the hit for any consequences.

Then Hogsbreath showed just how much a piece of shit he really is….

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, apparently making light of war crimes allegations, shared a meme Sunday showing the children’s book character Franklin the Turtle firing a rocket-propelled grenade at a boat. The meme depicted a fake book cover with the title “Franklin Targets Narco Terrorists,” the Hill reports. Hegseth tagged US Southern Command in his post on X, saying, “For your Christmas wish list.” The post followed reports that special ops troops acting on Hegseth’s orders fired two missiles on a suspected drug boat in the Caribbean, the second of which killed two survivors. (The White House defended the strikes and said the second order came from the mission commander, not Hegseth.)

Rep. Seth Moulton, a Massachusetts Democrat and Senate candidate, responded bluntly to Hegseth’s post, calling him “a disgrace,” Fox News reports. Former GOP Rep. Justin Amash also criticized the meme, writing, “There’s nothing Christian about war crimes.” Commenters online suggested a sequel: “Franklin Goes to the Hague.”

Every day we are treated to the reality that these fools have NO moral compass.

It is about time to throw then ALL in prison or at least tar and feather them.

They Have No Idea

The US just recently carried its 20th strike on a ‘narco boat’ and saved the US from a flood of drugs that will destroy the very fabric of our society.

I have been asking how do they know which boats to strike?

And now a ‘secret’ memo has been leaked…..they have no idea who they are attacking.

A secret memo from the Department of Justice that green-lights U.S airstrikes on alleged “drug boats” reveals that the justification for such force is based entirely on assertions made by Donald Trump.

The U.S. military has carried out a series of strikes targeting so-called “narco-terrorists,” with the White House criticized for not providing a specific legal basis for its actions.

The attacks on small boats in the Caribbean began on September 2 and have since expanded with assaults on the eastern Pacific, killing at least 80 people in 20 strikes on alleged smuggling craft.

This contrasts with human rights groups and experts on international law who have warned that the strikes are illegal, with the governments of both Venezuela and Colombia accusing the Trump administration of engaging in extrajudicial murder.

On Tuesday, the U.K. ended regional intelligence sharing with the U.S. after expressing disapproval of its actions. U.S. lawmakers on both sides of the political aisle have pressed the administration for more information about who is being targeted and the legal basis for its conduct.

Per The Times, the memo begins by reiterating claims made by the White House, including that drug cartels are deliberately trying to destabilize the Western Hemisphere and murder American citizens.

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/drug-boat-strikes-venezuela-trump-memo-b2865573.html

Apparently if Donny says they are doing bad then they deserve to die.

I still ask since these small boats cannot make it to the US they must be dropping off to a vehicle they will make it to our shores…..if so why not wait and take out the large load and stop killing anyone in the water with a small boat?

Then a report of some hint from Donny…..

President Trump said on Sunday that the US “may be having discussions” with Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, suggesting his administration has not entirely cut off diplomacy with Caracas as previous reports have said.

Trump made the comments when asked about Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s announcement that the State Department would be designating the so-called Cartel de los Soles, or Cartel of the Suns, as a “Foreign Terrorist Organization,” though the group doesn’t actually exist.

Trump then suggested that the US and Venezuela are talking.

“It allows us to do that, but I haven’t said we’re going to do that, and we may be having some discussions with Maduro, and we’ll see how that turns out, but they would like to talk,” he told reporters.

Maduro has made clear that he’s willing to reach some kind of deal with the US and sent a letter to Trump after the US began bombing alleged drug-running boats in the region. In the letter, the Venezuelan leader urged for diplomacy to resolve any issues and said he was ready to talk to Trump’s special envoy, Ric Grennel, at any time.

Operation Southern Spear

It is some what official now…..our intervention in Venezuela now has an official name…..Operation Southern Spear.

The naming took place with Hogsbreath and his evil smile….

US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth on Thursday announced a new US military campaign, dubbed “Operation Southern Spear,” which he said was ordered by President Trump.

Hegseth’s announcement came as US officials revealed that the US bombed another alleged drug-running boat in the region on Monday, marking the 20th strike and the 21st boat the US military has blown up since the campaign began in early September. The officials said that the latest strike killed four “narco-terrorists,” a term the Trump administration uses to justify the extrajudicial executions at sea.

According to numbers released by the Trump administration, the latest boat strike brings the total number of people killed in the campaign to 79. The Pentagon has offered no evidence to back up its claims that the boats it has been bombing were carrying drugs, and it has also admitted to Congress that it doesn’t know the identities of the people who have been killed.

The US has been facing growing criticism of the bombing campaign, which is clearly illegal under domestic and international law, but Hegseth’s statement signals the strikes will increase.

“Today, I’m announcing Operation SOUTHERN SPEAR,” Hegseth wrote on X. “Led by Joint Task Force Southern Spear and [US Southern Command], this mission defends our Homeland, removes narco-terrorists from our Hemisphere, and secures our Homeland from the drugs that are killing our people. The Western Hemisphere is America’s neighborhood – and we will protect it.”

Hegseth’s statement and the new military operation could also signal a move toward war with Venezuela, as CBS News reported earlier in the day that he was involved in a briefing with President Trump on potential military operations in the South American country, including strikes on land.

(antiwar.com)

With an official name comes with official plans…..

Senior military officials on Wednesday presented President Trump with options for potential military operations in Venezuela, including strikes on land, CBS News reported on Thursday.

The report, which cited White House officials familiar with the meeting, said that Secretary of War Pete Hegseth and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Dan Caine were involved in the briefing that presented potential options for the “coming days,” though no final decision was made.

The report comes after signs that the president was cooling on the idea of launching a war with Venezuela, though a US aircraft carrier, the USS Gerald Ford, and three US Navy destroyers, just arrived in the region, significantly bolstering US forces in the Caribbean.

The leaks to CBS about the briefing could be part of the psychological operation against Maduro aimed at pressuring him to voluntarily step down from power, though that’s unlikely to happen. The Wall Street Journal reported on November 5 that the president expressed reservations about attacking Venezuela and that he was content with slowly building up US forces in the region and continuing the illegal bombing campaign against alleged drug-running boats in the region.

The push toward a regime change war in Venezuela is being driven by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who also serves as Trump’s national security advisor. Reports have said that Stephen Miller, the president’s senior domestic policy advisor, also favors war, but there are concerns within the administration that taking out Maduro could plunge Venezuela into chaos and lead to another migrant crisis, akin to what happened in Libya after Muammar Gaddafi was brutally killed during a US and NATO bombing campaign.

(antiwar.com)

Last week, ahead of a Senate vote on a bill to block Trump from starting a war with Venezuela without congressional authorization, Trump officials told lawmakers that they didn’t currently have plans to bomb the country and that they lacked the legal authorization to do so. But the administration also conveyed that they planned on getting a legal opinion from the Department of Justice to justify strikes in Venezuela, which would still be illegal without approval from Congress, per the Constitution.

Is all this a blind bluff?

What makes a small boat with people a narco-terrorist boat?

If these boats are transporting drugs then why not follow it to where it is dropping off the drugs and take out a lot more?

Why waste expensive missiles on a small boat?

Does anyone else see the folly in all this?

Venezuela Day Dreamin’

Donny and the thugs keep attacking small boats that they say are ‘narco-boats’….is this Donny invoking the Monroe Doctrine?  (Hahahahha!)

Who decides which vessels are ‘narco’ and which are not? OPr does anyone decide?

Let’s be honest these tools have no idea who those boats are or what they are up to…..

The Trump administration has made a series of startling admissions about the people it is killing in its undeclared war against suspected drug smugglers in the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean. Trump officials acknowledged in separate briefings provided to lawmakers and staffers on Thursday that they do not know the identities of the victims of their strikes, and that the War Department cannot meet the evidentiary burden necessary to hold or try survivors of the attacks. Such victims who find themselves in the water are now deemed “unprivileged belligerents,” a murky designation under international humanitarian law.

Since September 2, the U.S. military has been attacking boats in the Caribbean and eastern Pacific Ocean, killing more than 60 civilians. The Trump administration insists the slayings are permissible because the U.S. is engaged in “non-international armed conflict” with “designated terrorist organizations,” or DTOs. Two government officials told The Intercept that the administration secretly declared a “non-international armed conflict” weeks if not months before the first attack of the campaign.

Trump Administration Admits It Doesn’t Know Who Exactly It’s Killing in Boat Strikes

If they have no idea then is not this murder?  Without proof it is in my book.

To make things worse……Hogsbreath has issued his mandate that no one is to talk to Congress about any of this…..

The Office of Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth has disseminated a broad list of topics that Defense Department personnel are now required to seek prior approval on before engaging with Congress, which includes any and all “sensitive military operations” and US military strikes on suspected drug boats around Latin America, according to people familiar with the latest guidance.

The guidance was handed down following confusion over an initial memo issued by Hegseth that barred all Defense Department personnel, including military commanders, from talking to Congress or state lawmakers unless they have received prior approval from the agency’s office of legislative affairs.

Now the Congress is being locked out of the process…..starting to smell fishy.

And now the idiots are thumping their chest like sex crazed primates and planning (?) to strike inland……

President Trump may be about to escalate his fight against Venezuela’s Nicolas Maduro in a big way: The Miami Herald, citing unnamed sources, reports that the Trump administration has decided to launch airstrikes against military installations in the country. The White House accuses Maduro of running a drug-trafficking enterprise and says the military facilities identified are used in the smuggling. The Wall Street Journal has a similar report, but it doesn’t go quite as far, asserting that the administration has indeed identified targets but that Trump has not yet decided to hit them.

Any such strikes would be the clearest signal yet from the US that Maduro must step down, per the Journal. “Maduro is about to find himself trapped and might soon discover that he cannot flee the country even if he decided to,” says one of the Herald sources. “What’s worse for him, there is now more than one general willing to capture and hand him over, fully aware that one thing is to talk about death, and another to see it coming.”

The US military presence in the region has grown steadily, with warships, fighter jets, and drones positioned for rapid action. The US has already conducted maritime attacks on suspected drug traffickers, resulting in dozens of deaths, but officials say traffickers are increasingly avoiding sea routes, prompting the shift to potential land strikes.

How long is he going to push this crap?

Does the US really need another war to finance?

Please someone let me know where the logic is this action.
