Sunday and my last day of relaxation before I go back to the hospital for more healing stuff…..I know it is for the best but dammit I would like some time to myself…..stop bitchin’ and get on with the post…….

My regulars know that I try to give my readers something a little different than all the bad news in the world on the weekends and I found a doozey for this Sunday…..

A man lost partial sight in his eye following a “vigorous” morning sex session with his partner, doctors have revealed.

The 29-year-old was enjoying an extended romp at home when the incident occurred, resulting in the loss of sight in his left eye. He presented his symptoms to doctors at an emergency eye clinic later in the day, it was reported in the British Medical Journal.

It reveals the US saw a record number of new cases of chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis for the second year in a row in 2016, reports the Los Angeles Times. New chlamydia cases were up 5% over 2015 to 1.6 million. But especially concerning was the 18.5% climb to 470,000 gonorrhea cases, given the spread of antibiotic-resistant strains, says the CDC’s Gail Bolan. Cases of syphilis, once thought to be nearly eradicated in the US, likewise climbed 17.5% to 28,000, while cases of congenital syphilis were up nearly 28% to 628 cases, resulting in more than 40 newborn deaths, reports CNN.

That alone represents “an unconscionable situation in America today,” David Harvey of the National Coalition of STD Directors tells CNN. But syphilis, chlamydia, and gonorrhea are only part of the problem. It’s estimated that 20 million new cases of STDs, including HIV and herpes, appear in the US each year, half in those aged 15 to 24. Harvey blames “funding cutbacks for prevention, education and healthcare programs … particularly from this administration,” though the data comes from 2016, as well as dating apps. The fact that many STDs present no symptoms is another issue, says Bolan. “We need every community in America to be aware that this risk is out there,” she adds, noting, “everyone needs a yearly checkup.”

Most of us Southerns know of Roy Moore and his 10 commandments debacle at the Alabama Supreme Court and his antics afterwards about LGBT issues. He has been running to replace Sessions as the senator from the great state of Alabama and the scary part is he has a good chance of winning that race……that is until the latest news came out about his early life…..

The latest high-profile figure accused of sexual misconduct is a politician who has staked his career on morality. The Washington Post is out with a detailed report about Alabama’s Roy Moore, the state’s former supreme court justice who is now running for the US Senate. A woman who is now 53 says Moore initiated a sexual encounter with her when she was just 14 and he was a 32-year-old assistant district attorney. Leigh Corfman says that they did not have intercourse, but that Moore drove her to his home, stripped down to his underwear, removed her pants and shirt, and touched her through her bra and underpants. She says that when he began guiding her hand toward his underwear, she recoiled, got dressed, and asked to leave, at which point he drove her home. Moore categorically denies the allegations as “fake news” drummed up by Democrats.

The Post also talks to three other women who say that Moore asked them out on dates, sometimes successfully, when they were between the ages of 16 and 18 and he was in his early 30s and still single. The account given by Corfman is the only one that advances beyond kissing. “I wasn’t ready for that,” Corfman says of Moore’s attempt to guide her hand. “I had never put my hand on a man’s penis, much less an erect one.” She says she first met Moore outside a courtroom, when he approached her and her mother and offered to sit with Corfman while her mom went inside for a custody hearing. In his later career, Moore would twice be removed from his chief justice post for taking stands against gay marriage and his refusal to remove a 10 Commandments plaque. Minutes before the Washington Post on Thursday published a bombshell report detailing allegations by a woman who claims Republican Senate nominee Roy Moore sexually assaulted her when she was 14, the Steve Bannon-directed outlet Breitbart News ran a story that spotlighted Moore’s denials of the claims against him and attempted to “undermine the Post‘s credibility.”

“The story detailed some of the allegations, but with a distinct twist,” notes Business Insider‘s Maxwell Tani. “Breitbart included five paragraphs of denials from Moore, which were placed above many of the details of the allegations.”

Headlined “After Endorsing Democrat in Alabama, Bezos’s Washington Post Plans to Hit Roy Moore with Allegations of Inappropriate Relations with Teenagers; Judge Claims Smear Campaign,” Breitbart‘s piece more closely resembles a “press release” for Moore than a news story, argued the Washington Post‘s Aaron Blake.

There are times when I read something while doing research that makes me shake my head and wonder what the Hell is going on in this world.

I could write a diatribe about the latest health care debate but why? There are enough experts here on WP that I do not need to put in my two cents…..but I will post on a medical thing…..

We humans spend a lot of time worrying about our appearance……but it is women that have the hardest time….are they too fat?…are their breast too big? Too small? Should they be blonde or brunette?

For us dudes our biggest concern is our ………penis.

You know when you were a teenage dude you were never happy with the size of your penis……we young guys spent a lot of time contemplating our “Johnson”…and we really never outgrow that fascination…..

It seems that women or should I say girls appear to be having a similar problem.

I bring this up because of something I read and something that I have written about in the past…..

Doctors in the U.K say that girls as young as 9 years old are asking for surgery to change the look of their genitals.

Dr. Naomi Crouch, who is a gynecologist for adolescents, told the BBC that more and more girls under the age of 18 were seeking the surgery.

“Girls come in with comments, ‘I just hate it. I just want it removed. I just want it treated,’” she explained. “For a girl to feel that way about any part of her body, let alone a part that is intimate, is really upsetting.”

One girl told the BBC that she felt that her vagina “wasn’t neat enough or tidy enough. And I think I wanted it to be smaller.”

“Sometimes people around me were watching porn and stuff and I just had this idea that it should be symmetrical, and like not sticking out,” she said.

The British National Health Service reportedly performed more than 150 labiaplasties on girls under the age of 15 in 2015 and 2016.

“I find it very hard to believe there are 156 girls under the age of 15 who had a medical abnormality with the labia that meant they needed to have surgery,” Crouch remarked. “I think that’s extraordinary.”

“As a pediatric gynecologist, I have never seen a girl under the age of 15 who’s needed an operation on her labia,” she added.

Thoughts From The “Food Nazi”

The weekend and as usual it is a chore to find something to blog about that does not include the politics of the day…..but I try….

From time to time I will post something that deals with food or cafe life….since I shut down my food blog, The Food Nazi, I have done a little food posts here and there…….Subjects like food trends, wine, etc……

Why the “Food Nazi”….that is easy…..I am pretty set in my ways…….I believe that food should be prepared the way it was suppose to be prepared……I guess a traditionalist would be a good description. Fusion food is out for me! The once noble profession of chef has now become nothing more than a cheap game show….in an age when insults are more important than facts I am glad I am no longer cooking for the public.

Sorry, I digress.

Many years ago when I returned from my overseas posting I opened a small cafe…..seated about 20 people, limited menu and a great place to have your coffee and schmooze with others. It was called “Le Petit Cafe”……

So this weekend I will post on eating, food and other stuff……but the “other stuff” did not include placenta……yes I wrote “Placenta”…….

First, there seems to be a movement to eat the placenta after giving birth…..but is this a good idea?

Kim Kardashian West has done it. So has January Jones. Now the CDC is warning new moms not to eat their own placentas. The Washington Post reports the unusual advisory came after an investigation into a mysterious illness that struck an Oregon newborn. Three days after a healthy birth, the baby was in respiratory distress, and tests revealed a deadly bacterial infection known as GBS. After a course of antibiotics, the baby recovered but fell ill again with the same thing. Tests revealed the culprit was pills made from the mother’s own placenta that she had been ingesting for weeks. Breast feeding transferred the infection to the baby. Once the mom stopped taking the pills, the infant recovered. While GBS isn’t usually dangerous for adults, it is perilous to a newborn’s immune system, reports ArtsTechnica.

Some new moms believe popping placenta pills eases postpartum blues, boosts energy levels, and stimulates breast milk production. Tens of thousands of new moms do it, per the AP. The CDC hasn’t take a stand on placenta pills, but there is no evidence to show that “placentophagy” has any benefits. The report states the unidentified company that dehydrated the Oregon mom’s placenta failed to heat the organ that attaches to the uterine wall sufficiently to kill germs. There are no standards for heating placentas, the CDC notes, adding that doctors should “educate mothers interested in placenta encapsulation about the potential risks.” Forbes notes that placenta recipes are rampant on the internet, with suggestions to add them to lasagna, chili, tacos, and smoothies. Well, I read one that made me ask that question and shake my head….

It appears that some cultures still hang on the old belief of the purity of the woman they are about to marry…..yes I am talking about that virginity thing.

A story out of Tunisia about a procedure that is being done to solve that problem for some women……hymenoplasty.

In Tunisia, young women are expected to be virgins when they marry, leading to a growing trade in hymen reconstruction surgery.

Another Sunday and I do not have anything important to do…..my better half and I will spend it doing what adults do (take that anyway you choose)…..

Matthews auctioneers have put the “Antique Carved Ivory Ladies Companion” complete with “Scarlet Lined Leather Upholstered Carry Box” and “Inset Bevelled Glass Panel” up for sale. The antiquated sex aid is expected to fetch between €500 – €800 ($536 – $858).

“It is a beautiful piece, which comes from one of the well-known Anglo-Irish families. A family member found it in a drawer, and he put it in the auction for fun really,” auctioneer Damien Matthews told the Irish Times.

“We believe the ivory dates back to the 1840s. This fellow, the original owner, was in India in the 1840s, where he shot himself an elephant, and brought the tusk home,” he said.

Matthews believes that upon retrieving the precious ivory, the owner sought the help of Chinese carvers to create the unusual item.

“The Chinese were famous for carving ivory, and the quality of carving is so good, I think that is where he would … have had it done. He would not have known that he was coming home, and would have wanted his wife to have this,” Matthews said.

The Victorians were a notoriously prudish bunch, leading Matthews to believe that the man behind the erotic tusk was quite the modern husband.

“This was a very enlightened family, and this would have been a very loving gift from a husband to wife. You can see that because the level of detail is incredible, down to the folds of the skin,” said Matthews.

Another Sunday and more time in the sun….having to get the garden ready for installation….

Back in the early days of this blog….when I was using the Blogger format…..I tried to increase my readership by inserting the word “Sex” into the title even if there was nothing sexual involved in the post….back in those days I was lucky to get 5 hits a week….so from time to time I still find something about sex to report to my readers…..

I read about a Swedish town that was worried about their declining population and came up with a solution…..

A local Swedish official also wants to help people create those babies.

Per-Erik Muskos, a councilman from the small town of Övertorneå, has announced plans to give the municipality’s 550 employees paid time off to have sex.

“There are studies that show sex is healthy,” Muskos told AFP, adding that couples in Sweden weren’t spending enough time together. “It’s about having better relationships.”

Muskos’ plan for paid sex breaks, however, is really just a proposal to amend an existing work break given to employees for fitness and exercise. Employees already get one paid hour off each week to work out; Muskos is suggesting they should also be allowed to go home and have sex during that time. He said sex was often a form of exercise “and has documented positive effects on well-being,” though employees could, of course, abuse the benefit and just work one hour less.

The country reported a higher number of deaths than births for the first time last year, prompting the government to take action.

A declining birth-rate is a common feature across many European countries but Spain’s figures means it has one of the lowest birth-rates in the developed world.

In response and faced with an impending population crisis, the government has appointed Edelmira Barreira to the position of sex tsar.

The portfolio was created by Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy and Ms Barreira, a demographic expert, will help draft a document for a national strategy of demographic imbalances.

Sexting may be about to rise to a whole new level with the introduction of what is being billed as the first “smart condom.” The i.Con—think of it as a FitBit for the penis, per the Sun—tracks the particulars of each sexual encounter and lets users download the data to their phones and share it. It uses a nanochip and sensors embedded in an adjustable condom ring that measures penis size and tracks things like the number and velocity of thrusts, skin temperature, and calories burned. UK manufacturer British Condoms says it will also be able to detect STDs, reports Mashable, though the website points out that the latter claim is still being tested.

The company is currently taking pre-orders but isn’t accepting payments until a release date in 2017 is finalized. So far, the i.Con is available only in the United Kingdom, but the company says distribution will go global if demand is high enough. The ring would cost about $74 in US money. The i.Con has the potential to open a bold new frontier for hackers, but British Condoms promises that “all data will be kept anonymous”—unless users themselves decide to share it, reports CNET.

Religion is a personal decision by the individual…..I have mine and you have yours and that is the way it should remain. I do not care about yours and you sure as Hell do not care about mine….

Most of the crazies in the fundamental side of religion have their problems with sex….and some of these people will go to extreme measures to see that NO one enjoys sex.

I found one such story……

Victims of the violence included pre-teens and toddlers—even crying babies, who were vigorously shaken, screamed at, and sometimes smacked to banish demons. Students in the church’s K-12 school were encouraged to beat their own classmates. Several former followers said some congregants of the church were sexually abused, including minors.

Word of Faith Fellowship has been scrutinized on numerous occasions by law enforcement, social services agencies, and the news media since the early 1990s—all without significant impact, mostly because followers refused to cooperate. Those interviewed by the AP—most of them raised in the church—say Word of Faith leaders strong-armed young victims and their parents to lie.
