Will Your Check Be In The Mail?

For some time now there has been rumblings of some of the money raised by tariffs would be returned to the population….maybe even you.

Now there is the vague promise of them being issued next year…..

President Trump said Monday that Americans could see $2,000 tariff dividend checks as soon as mid-2026, putting a timeline on a proposal he has floated several times this year. The president said the payments would go to individuals with moderate incomes, but the plan would require congressional approval—an outcome far from certain, according to previous remarks from Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent. “We’re gonna be issuing dividends later on, somewhere prior to … the middle of next year, a little bit later than that,” Trump said, per the New York Post.

The cost of the proposed dividend is significant. Analysts estimate that even limiting the checks to low- and middle-income individuals could push the price tag well above $200 billion, a sum that exceeds total tariff revenues collected by the government in fiscal 2025 and amounts to about half of what’s projected for fiscal 2026, Axios reports. A payout of this size, especially so close to the 2026 midterm elections, could have major political implications, effectively putting large sums of money into voters’ hands just as they head to the polls. There’s also concern that such a payout could fuel inflation—a risk highlighted by the inflationary effects of previous stimulus checks.

“The middle of next year”?

That ought to be about the best time for the bribe to be effective in repairing his lost support and placate the masses.

Is this a ploy for the midterms?

Let’s Look At The Tariffs (Again)

I still do not know how any person breathing can think that these tariffs are a good thing…..brain damage is the best I can come up with……

According to Donny the US has raised billions in tariff cash….The U.S. collected $195 billion in tariff revenue in the 2025 fiscal year, which ended in September. The Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget noted that the total was a 150 percent increase from 2024.

Let’s look at what these tariffs are doing for the average person…..

The Trump administration’s tariffs are on track to cost the typical household an average of $2,400 per year, according to the Yale Budget Lab. Moreover, the typical small business that imports products already faced more than $90,000 in tariff costs from April 2025 to July 2025 alone; they are also reporting revenue losses of about 13 percent, which will annualize to $100,000 if tariff costs continue to mount at this rate. These costs are only the beginning of the toll that Trump’s turbulence will take on businesses and consumers in the months to come.

Businesses and consumers crave predictability. From frequent and inconsistent announcements on tariff policy to trying to politicize historically independent institutions such as the Federal Reserve and the BLS, the Trump administration has made turbulence and uncertainty the drivers of its economic agenda. This chaos is imposing real costs across the economy, and it will threaten the nation’s long-term economic growth if the administration does not change course soon.

All that cash that has been raised is basically being paid by the American consumer in higher prices.

It is that simple.

Deploying the same methodology that Republicans used to track cost increases under former President Joe Biden, JEC Democrats found that the average US family is spending roughly $700 more per month on basic items since Trump took office in January, pledging to bring prices “way down.”

“While President Trump claimed that he would bring down prices, the reality is that Americans have seen their costs soar even higher since he took office,” said Sen. Maggie Hassan (D-NH), the JEC’s ranking member. “As families across the country spend more to pay their bills and put food on the table, Democrats and Republicans should be working together to lower costs. Instead, President Trump is pushing ahead with reckless tariffs that continue to fuel inflation and drive prices up even higher.”

In some states—including Alaska, California, and Colorado—average families are spending over $1,000 more per month to maintain their living standards as costs continue to rise, in part due to Trump’s erratic tariff regime.

So the economy sucks and job growth sucks as well and those were a couple of the selling points on tariffs that would improve the economy.

But yet Uncle Don tells the American  people that he has solved the inflation problem.

President Donald Trump announced in September that, despite ample evidence to the contrary, “We have almost no inflation anymore.”

The president explained that he has “already solved inflation” for America, and that is evidenced by the fact that “costs are down.” GOBankingRates breaks down the reality of the situation and what that means for your wallet.

The data (and the everyday costs they reflect) tell a different story. As reported by CNN, the annual inflation rate is at its highest level (2.9%) since January 2025, and that consumer prices continue to raise.

American Crisis–2025 Edition

Back in the dark days of the American Revolution things were not going well and the forgotten founder took it upon himself to make a change….and he, Thomas Paine, wrote the American Crisis.

His pamphlet opens with some strong words….

Fast forward to today and the anger, division, hatred, etc is making our way of life in crisis….and the schism between the people is getting wider by the speech.

The people are starting to believe that democracy is not working….

Pessimists appear to outnumber optimists these days, with a new poll showing most Americans believe democracy “is not working,” among several other jarring findings.

The new Quinnipiac University Poll released on Tuesday found 53% of citizens believe American democracy is not working right now, compared to 41% of Americans who believe the system is going fine.

Those on the left, unsurprisingly, were much more likely to say the figurative house is burning down, with 74% of polled Democrats saying “the system of democracy in the United States is not working”; only 22% of Republicans said it is not working, and 74% of GOP voters said there is no problem at all.

“As long as political and media systems reward outrage with votes and viewership—stoking division—any individual-level effort to depolarize is up against a powerful, unending tide,” says senior author Sean Westwood, an associate professor of government at Dartmouth and director of the Lab.

“This isn’t a problem that can be fixed at the grassroots level alone.”

It is getting to the point where Americans are starting to believe that violence could be inevitable….

Almost 80 percent of Americans believe the U.S. is in crisis and more than half are concerned that political violence will worsen in the coming years, a new poll has found.

In the wake of recent seismic events, including the assassination of MAGA commentator Charlie Kirk, a poll by Quinnipiac University showed 79 percent of voters agreed that the country was “in political crisis,” while 18 percent said it was not.

Along party lines, 93 percent of Democrats agreed, as did 60 percent of Republicans.

“The Kirk assassination lays bare raw, bipartisan concerns about where the country is headed,” said Quinnipiac University Polling Analyst Tim Malloy.

In addition to the perceived political crisis, the poll also showed that an overwhelming majority, 71 percent, considered politically motivated violence a “very serious problem” in the U.S., with 22 percent believing it to be a “somewhat serious problem.”

The survey noted a jump from a previous Quinnipiac University poll on June 26, when 54 percent thought politically motivated violence was a very serious problem, and 37 percent thought it was a somewhat serious problem.

So is political violence acceptable?

A new poll from YouGov has found that 20 percent of 18- to 29-year-olds, commonly known as Generation Z, think that political violence is sometimes justified.

Respondents were surveyed on September 11, a day after right-wing commentator Charlie Kirk was shot and killed at Utah Valley University. A total of 2643 US adults were interviewed as part of the study.

The findings mean that members of Gen Z are more in favor of political violence than any other group.

Millennials were the second-largest group, with 14 percent of people aged 30-49 stating it could sometimes be justified.

Meanwhile, just 8 percent of 45-64-year-olds and 3 percent of people aged over 65 said that political violence was sometimes acceptable.

The Continuing Saga Of MTG

This situation is like a train wreck….I just cannot look away….

For several months this batcrap crazy has been bad mouthing the GOP and even Donny and he has been uncharacteristically silent on her statements…..but that changed over the weekend….

President Trump has publicly called it quits with one of his most stalwart MAGA-world supporters, calling Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene “Wacky Marjorie” and saying he would endorse a challenger against her in next year’s midterms “if the right person runs,” per the AP. Accusing the Georgia Republican of going “Far Left,” Trump wrote Friday on Truth Social that all Greene had done in recent months is “COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN!” As for Greene’s purported irritation that he doesn’t return her phone calls: “I can’t take a ranting Lunatic’s call every day.”

The dismissal of Greene—once the epitome of “Make America Great Again,” sporting the signature red cap for President Biden’s 2024 State of the Union address and acting as a go-between for Trump and other Capitol Hill Republicans—appeared to be the final break in a dispute simmering for months, as Greene has seemingly moderated her political profile. The three-term US House member has increasingly dissented from Republican leaders, attacking them during the just-ended federal government shutdown and saying they need a plan to help people who are losing subsidies to afford health insurance policies.

In a response to Trump on X, Greene wrote that Trump had “attacked me and lied about me.” She added a screenshot of texts she said she’d sent the president earlier in the day about releasing the Jeffrey Epstein files, which she said “is what sent him over the edge.” Greene called it “astonishing really how hard he’s fighting to stop the Epstein files from coming out that he actually goes to this level,” referencing next week’s US House vote over releasing the Epstein files. Writing that she’d supported Trump “with too much of my precious time, too much of my own money, and fought harder for him even when almost all other Republicans turned their back and denounced him,” Greene added, “I don’t worship or serve Donald Trump.” More on their spat here.

How will this yanked support effect her chances of re-election next year?

Marjorie Taylor Greene says her escalating feud with President Trump is putting her in physical danger, reports Mediaite:

  • “I am now being contacted by private security firms with warnings for my safety as a hot bed of threats against me are being fueled and egged on by the most powerful man in the world,” she tweeted Saturday. “The man I supported and helped get elected.”
  • “As a Republican, who overwhelmingly votes for President Trump’s bills and agenda, his aggression against me which also fuels the venomous nature of his radical internet trolls (many of whom are paid), this is completely shocking to everyone,” wrote Greene. “I now have a small understanding of the fear and pressure the women, who are victims of Jeffrey Epstein and his cabal, must feel.”
  • As NBC News reports, Greene has broken publicly with Trump on a number of issues of late, including the release of the Epstein files and a foreign policy she says betrays his “America First” promises. Trump responded in force Friday and Saturday, denouncing Greene on this Truth Social platform as “wacky,” calling her a “disgrace” to the Republican party, and withdrawing his previous support of her. Meanwhile, some Democrats were reveling in the feud, notes Politico. “I’m here for you girl,” tweeted Rep. Jasmine Crockett, who has publicly sparred with Greene. “I told you not to trust him… all he cares about is HIMself.”

WE all have heard or experienced the high cost of food these days……well finally the problem has got some small amount of attention from Donny and the Thugs….

President Trump announced Friday that he was scrapping US tariffs on beef, coffee, tropical fruits, and a broad swath of other commodities—a dramatic move that comes amid mounting pressure on his administration to better combat high consumer prices. “We just did a little bit of a rollback on some foods like coffee,” Trump said aboard Air Force One as he flew to Florida hours after the tariff announcement was made. Pressed on his tariffs helping to increase consumer prices, Trump acknowledged, “I say they may, in some cases” have that effect. “But to a large extent they’ve been borne by other countries,” the president added.

  • Trump has built his second term around imposing steep levies on goods imported into the US in hopes of encouraging domestic production and lifting the US economy. His abrupt retreat from his signature tariff policy on so many staples key to the American diet is significant, and it comes after voters in off-year elections this month cited economic concerns as their top issue, resulting in big wins for Democrats in Virginia, New Jersey, and other key races around the country, the AP reports.
  • Inflation—despite Trump’s pronouncements that it has vanished since he took office in January—remains elevated, further increasing pressure on US consumers.
  • The Trump administration has insisted that its tariffs had helped fill government coffers and weren’t a major factor in higher prices at grocery stores around the country. But Democrats were quick to paint Friday’s move as an acknowledgement that Trump’s policies were hurting American pocketbooks.
  • “President Trump is finally admitting what we always knew: his tariffs are raising prices for the American people,” Virginia Democratic Rep. Don Beyer said in a statement. “After getting drubbed in recent elections because of voters’ fury that Trump has broken his promises to fix inflation, the White House is trying to cast this tariff retreat as a ‘pivot to affordability.'”
  • Trump signed an executive order that also removes tariffs on tea, fruit juice, cocoa, spices, bananas, oranges, tomatoes, and certain fertilizers. Some of the products covered aren’t produced in the United States, meaning that tariffs meant to spur domestic production had little effect. But reducing the tariffs will still likely mean lower prices for US consumers.
  • Trade groups praised the move and urged Trump to roll back more of his tariffs, the Wall Street Journal reports. “It’s certainly a step in the right direction, but it’s important to recognize that the pain that American working families and businesses feel from tariffs goes way beyond coffee and bananas,” said Jake Colvin, president of the National Foreign Trade Council.

He said the ‘tariffs, in some cases, contributed to the high cost’ (paraphrase)….this from a stable genius that is a whiz kid in economics and he did not think it would effect the prices?

Beef prices have been giving Americans sticker shock at grocery stores lately, and they are poised to reach even more stomach-churning levels next year, according to Omaha Steaks CEO Nate Rempe.

“So we are headed for what I’m calling the $10-a-pound reality by third quarter of ’26,” he predicted. “Families are going to see $10-a-pound ground beef in the grocery store.”

According to the latest consumer price index data, the average price of ground beef was $6.323 a pound in September. That’s up 14% since January and 26% from January 2024.

If ground beef hits $10 a pound, the price would represent a 58% surge from September’s level.

Scott Bessent was ridiculed for suggesting skyrocketing beef prices have nothing to do with MAGA’s economic policies and everything to do with a supposed invasion of cows across the southern border.

The Treasury Secretary expounded his wild theory during a Sunday sit-down with Maria Bartiromo over on Fox News. The host described the crisis to Bessent, asking for his take on “ten dollar… meat, a pound!”

Arguing the beef industry is in “a perfect storm” that the White House “inherited” from the Joe Biden administration, the secretary shot back that rising costs are a direct result of migrants entering the U.S. from Latin America.

WE knew someone would use that dodge eventually, right?

They Have No Idea

The US just recently carried its 20th strike on a ‘narco boat’ and saved the US from a flood of drugs that will destroy the very fabric of our society.

I have been asking how do they know which boats to strike?

And now a ‘secret’ memo has been leaked…..they have no idea who they are attacking.

A secret memo from the Department of Justice that green-lights U.S airstrikes on alleged “drug boats” reveals that the justification for such force is based entirely on assertions made by Donald Trump.

The U.S. military has carried out a series of strikes targeting so-called “narco-terrorists,” with the White House criticized for not providing a specific legal basis for its actions.

The attacks on small boats in the Caribbean began on September 2 and have since expanded with assaults on the eastern Pacific, killing at least 80 people in 20 strikes on alleged smuggling craft.

This contrasts with human rights groups and experts on international law who have warned that the strikes are illegal, with the governments of both Venezuela and Colombia accusing the Trump administration of engaging in extrajudicial murder.

On Tuesday, the U.K. ended regional intelligence sharing with the U.S. after expressing disapproval of its actions. U.S. lawmakers on both sides of the political aisle have pressed the administration for more information about who is being targeted and the legal basis for its conduct.

Per The Times, the memo begins by reiterating claims made by the White House, including that drug cartels are deliberately trying to destabilize the Western Hemisphere and murder American citizens.

Then a report of some hint from Donny…..

President Trump said on Sunday that the US “may be having discussions” with Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, suggesting his administration has not entirely cut off diplomacy with Caracas as previous reports have said.

Trump made the comments when asked about Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s announcement that the State Department would be designating the so-called Cartel de los Soles, or Cartel of the Suns, as a “Foreign Terrorist Organization,” though the group doesn’t actually exist.

Trump then suggested that the US and Venezuela are talking.

“It allows us to do that, but I haven’t said we’re going to do that, and we may be having some discussions with Maduro, and we’ll see how that turns out, but they would like to talk,” he told reporters.

Maduro has made clear that he’s willing to reach some kind of deal with the US and sent a letter to Trump after the US began bombing alleged drug-running boats in the region. In the letter, the Venezuelan leader urged for diplomacy to resolve any issues and said he was ready to talk to Trump’s special envoy, Ric Grennel, at any time.

Last Week At The Sh*t Show–16Nov25

One more week of the silliness that is Donny and his band of toadies.

A lot happened this past week….the shutdown, the continuing destruction of the White House, more executions in Venezuela, but the only that pissed me off the most was his speech on Veterans Day….

President Trump has talked about changing the name of Veterans Day to Victory Day. If Veterans Day were changed to Victory Day, that would exclude many of our veterans from being recognized. The Vietnam War did not end in a U.S. victory. The Korean War did not end in a victory for the United States. There could be future conflicts that yield not decisive winner, but the veterans who fought in Vietnam, Korea, or any war in the future where there is no clear victory for the United States are no less worthy of the soldiers who fought in the wars that ended with surrender agreements.

There seems to be a tendency by the president to want to change everything so that history records that he was responsible for the change. Changing the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America and changing Veterans Day to Victory Day when all wars did not end in victory are efforts to create landmarks for a president driven by a desire to change America in his image.

White House officials said Saturday they’re fans of naming the new stadium for Washington’s NFL team after President Trump, after ESPN reported that an intermediary has told the Commanders’ ownership group that he wants it to bear his name.

Under a deal announced in April between the team and the District of Columbia, the team will return to the nation’s capital in a new stadium expected to cost nearly $4 billion. President Trump’s excuses for his party’s losses are getting stranger. He’s now claiming it’s all because Republicans didn’t talk about his accomplishments enough, even though the results dramatically repudiated them. But he knows there’s a problem. Sounding weirdly subdued, he just openly said Republicans should end the filibuster—to pass lots of new laws making voting a whole lot harder. Translation: The GOP’s response to the losses should be rigging the 2026 midterms. Indeed, he also declared that if he gets his way, Democrats will “never obtain power.” Donnie, you’re supposed to say voter suppression is about targeting “fraud,” not about locking the opposition out of power forever! Donald Trump argued that there are no talented workers in the U.S. after being cornered by Fox News host Laura Ingraham over allowing high-skilled foreign workers into the country.

The president found himself in the odd position of not being the most MAGA voice in the room when Ingraham asked if H-1B visas “will not be a big priority” for the administration during his interview on The Ingraham Angle, which was taped at the White House Monday.

“If you want to raise wages for American workers, you can’t flood the country with hundreds of thousands of foreign workers,” Ingraham, 62, claimed.

Far-right podcaster and former top presidential advisor Steve Bannon told a crowd of aspiring conservative staffers on Capitol Hill this week that the job of Republicans between now and the midterm election next year is to seize complete control of government institutions and turn as many of President Donald Trump’s executive orders as possible into law as a way to avoid politic defeat in the coming years and, ultimately, keep MAGA loyalists from being tried and sent to jail.

“I’ll tell you right, as God as my witness, if we lose the midterms and we lose 2028, some in this room are going to prison,” Bannon told the crowd Wednesday at an awards event hosted by the Conservative Partnership Academy. This group offers training and certifications to aspiring right-wing ideologues working in politics and government.

Found in everything from protein bars to energy drinks, erythritol has long been considered a safe alternative to sugar.

But research suggests this widely used sweetener may be quietly undermining one of the body’s most crucial protective barriers – with potentially serious consequences for heart health and stroke risk.

A study from the University of Colorado suggests erythritol may damage cells in the blood-brain barrier, the brain’s security system that keeps out harmful substances while letting in nutrients.

The findings add troubling new detail to previous observational studies that have linked erythritol consumption to increased rates of heart attack and stroke.

Scientists in Brazil and Germany have turned sunflower seeds into a promising new meat substitute. The project, a collaboration between Brazil’s Institute of Food Technology (ITAL), the University of Campinas, and Germany’s Fraunhofer IVV Institute, saw the researchers first extract the seeds’ oil then remove their husks and specific phenolic compounds to make the resulting flour more palatable and easier to digest. The textured sunflower protein they ended up with “has a very neutral taste and aroma, especially compared to the various vegetable proteins on the market,” says lead author Maria Teresa Bertoldo Pacheco, per Science Daily.

Two burger prototypes were tested: One using flour made from roasted sunflower grains, the other with the aforementioned sunflower protein. Both were flavored with tomato powder, spices, and a mix of oils, then baked into small patties. Tests showed the textured protein version had a superior “meat-like” consistency and packed a greater nutritional punch—more protein, nearly half the daily iron requirement, and substantial amounts of zinc, magnesium, and manganese.

Indeed, as VegOut reports, “Strip away the oil (sunflower seeds are about 45% fat) and you’re left with a defatted press cake that clocks in at nearly 50% protein—higher than chickpeas and only a shade below soy.” The researchers point out that sunflowers aren’t genetically modified, making the resulting protein attractive to GMO-averse consumers. Sunflower meals’ “absence of common allergens,” makes it doubly attractive, the researchers say in their study. Still, it wasn’t a breeze: They note “significant challenges were encountered in harmonizing nutritional, technological, and sensory aspects.”

It seems that anxiety disorders are on the rise these days…..could there be a common cause?

People with anxiety disorders have lower levels of choline in their brains, according to research from UC Davis Health.

The study, published in the journal Molecular Psychiatry, analyzed data from 25 studies. The researchers compared the levels of neurometabolites—chemicals produced during —in 370 people with to 342 people without anxiety.

They found the level of choline—an essential nutrient—was about 8% lower in those with anxiety disorders. The evidence for low choline was especially consistent in the prefrontal cortex, the part of the brain that helps control thinking, emotions and behavior.

The major killers in our society are heart attacks and stroke and now there maybe some help on that front….

A new study from researchers at Mass General Brigham has brought encouraging news for people at high risk of heart disease.

The large clinical trial found that adding a drug called evolocumab to standard treatment can significantly reduce the risk of major heart-related problems, such as heart attacks and strokes, even in people who have never had one before.

The results were shared at the American Heart Association Scientific Sessions and published in *The New England Journal of Medicine*, one of the most respected medical journals in the world.

Humanity has lived through so many ‘ages’….Stone Age, Bronze Age, etc….but what age are we living now?

New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman was born in the “Cold War” era and has lived much of his life in the not-so-imaginatively-named “Post-Cold War” era. But what to call the era we’re living through now? It’s a tough question, he writes, because so much is happening in so many arenas: artificial intelligence, climate concerns, geopolitics, etc., much of it interconnected. In talking about this with Craig Mundie, former head of research and strategy at Microsoft, Mundie came up with the “Polycene.” And Friedman was instantly sold:

Researchers studying zebra finches discovered that birds sing most energetically once the first light hits. Their sunrise soundtrack comes from a rush of built-up energy that gathers overnight. During the dark hours, the instinct to sing builds, waiting for release. When dawn arrives, the tension breaks in a burst of sound. The longer the night, the stronger the song.

This “rebound effect” has a biological root. Light lowers melatonin, the hormone that manages sleep and activity. As melatonin drops before sunrise, the body gets ready for the day ahead. By the time light appears, birds are primed to move and vocalize. Singing becomes their way of stretching after hours of stillness.

The Phoenix Declaration

Florida is the first state to embrace the manure from these ‘people’…..

Florida education leaders on Thursday approved a set of principles that would teach a conservative-backed vision of the United States. The State Board of Education, which also approved social-studies changes intended to highlight ideological evils of communism, signed off on Florida becoming the first state to adopt the Heritage Foundation’s “Phoenix Declaration: An American Vision for Education.”

The declaration is a statement of principles described as fostering “a love of country,” teaching children to “seek the good, true and beautiful” and aiming for students to “achieve their full, God-given potential.” Education Commissioner Anastasios Kamoutsas said the declaration establishes an “affiliation” with the Heritage Foundation and promotes what the board supports rather than what it opposes. “We often call out what is problematic in education, pushing an ideology over indoctrination, whether that’s the instruction of sexual orientation and gender identity in elementary schools or divisive concepts like critical race theory and DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion) that treats people differently based on the way God created them,” Kamoutsas said. “Well, this talks about what we want to see. We want to see parents empowered. We want to see curriculum, transparency, we want to see academic excellence in all of our students.” The Washington, D.C.-based Heritage Foundation has a stated mission of building and promoting conservative public policies. Critics addressing the education board Thursday described the Heritage Foundation declaration as promoting indoctrination.
