With the death of some right wing blowhard the admin is doing all it can to bring about a “Reichstag” moment and a national emergency by blame everything on anyone that does not agree with them and trying hard to make it illegal to have opposing thoughts.

There is a plan afoot to strip peoploe of their passports….

Free speech advocates are sounding the alarm about a bill in the US House of Representatives that they fear could allow Secretary of State Marco Rubio to strip US citizens of their passports based purely on political speech.

The bill, introduced by Rep. Brian Mast (R-Fla.), will come up for a hearing on Wednesday. According to The Intercept:

Mast’s new bill claims to target a narrow set of people. One section grants the secretary of state the power to revoke or refuse to issue passports for people who have been convicted—or merely charged—of material support for terrorism…

The other section sidesteps the legal process entirely. Rather, the secretary of state would be able to deny passports to people whom they determine “has knowingly aided, assisted, abetted, or otherwise provided material support to an organization the Secretary has designated as a foreign terrorist organization.”

White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller vowed Friday that he and President Donald Trump would use this week’s assassination of Charlie Kirk to “dismantle” the organized left using state power.

In a rant on Fox News, Miller—the architect of Trump’s mass roundups and deportations of immigrants—shouted that the best way to honor Kirk’s memory was to carry out a political purge against the left, which he called a “domestic terrorism movement in this country.”

Miller provided few details on what specific left-wing figures or groups he believed were stoking this violence. He claimed the left was waging “doxxing campaigns” against right-wing figures, though he cited no specific examples.

“The last message that Charlie Kirk gave to me before he joined his creator in heaven,” Miller said, was, “that we have to dismantle and take on the radical left organizations in this country that are fomenting violence, and we are going to do that.”

“Under President Trump’s leadership,” Miller vowed to shut down these unspecified leftist groups.

“I don’t care how,” he said. “It could be a RICO charge, a conspiracy charge, conspiracy against the United States, insurrection. But we are going to do what it takes to dismantle the organizations and the entities that are fomenting riots, that are doxxing, that are trying to inspire terrorism, that are committing acts of wanton violence.”

Consider the message from Stewart Rhodes, founder of the Oath Keepers militia group, who was sentenced to 18 years in prison for his role in leading the Capitol insurrection on January 6, 2021, before being pardoned by President Donald Trump in January—along with nearly 1,600 others. On Wednesday, he said on Alex Jones’ Infowars podcast that he would be restarting his organization in the wake of Kirk’s killing. “I’m going to be rebuilding Oath Keepers,” Rhodes said, “and we will be doing protection again.” The group never formally disbanded but had receded from the spotlight after their leader’s conviction.

The Occupation Expands

Yet another American city is slated for military occupation.

First it was DC, a blue city, and Donny lied about out of control crime and then he went about threatening other blue cities like Chicago, Baltimore, etc….and now he has ordered his storm troopers into another city….this time Memphis….

President Trump signed an order Monday sending the National Guard into Memphis to combat crime. Trump made the announcement with Republican Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee visiting the Oval Office, calling what’s coming a “replica of our extraordinarily successful efforts” in Washington. The AP describes the move as Trump’s “latest test of the limits of presidential power by using military force in American cities.”

  • “Today, at the request of Gov. Bill Lee of Tennessee, who’s standing with us, as you know, I’m signing a presidential memorandum to establish the Memphis Safe Task Force,” Trump said, per the Commercial Appeal. “It’s very important because of the crime that’s going on, not only in Memphis, in many cities. We’re going to take care of all of them step-by-step.”

Trump said that in addition to troops, the push in Memphis would involve officials from various federal agencies, including the FBI, DEA, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and the US Marshals Service: “We’re sending in the big force now.”

  • Shortly before Trump’s announcement, the White House said on social media that the Memphis total crime rate was higher than the national average and suggested that the rate had increased since last year, bucking national trends. That’s despite Memphis police recently reporting decreases across every major crime category in the first eight months of 2025 compared to the same period in previous years. Overall crime hit a 25-year low, while murder hit a six-year low, police said. Despite the overall decrease, Memphis has dealt with gun violence problems for years. In 2023, the city set a record with more than 390 homicides.
  • A White House memorandum on “Restoring Law and Order” noted that according to the FBI, Memphis had the nation’s highest rate of violent crime per capita last year. “The city, a beacon of American culture that was Elvis’s home and is often called the birthplace of rock and roll and the blues, should be safe and secure for all of its citizens and Americans who visit its historic landmarks such as Graceland, Beale Street, and the Memphis Pyramid,” the memorandum states.
  • Tennessee’s governor embraced the troop deployment as part of a broader law enforcement surge in Memphis. Lee said Monday that he was “tired of crime holding the great city of Memphis back.”
  • Trump first suggested he’d be deploying the National Guard to Memphis on Friday, drawing pushback from the Democratic leader of Memphis, which is majority Black. “I did not ask for the National Guard, and I don’t think it’s the way to drive down crime,” Mayor Paul Young told a news conference Friday while acknowledging the city remained high on too many “bad lists.”
  • The first troops could be deployed as soon as this week, CNN reports. Young says he hasn’t been given a date and he is still waiting for information including the number of troops and their duties.
  • Speculation had centered on Chicago as Trump’s next city to send in the National Guard and other federal authorities. But the administration has faced fierce resistance from Democratic Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker and other local authorities. Trump said Monday, “We’re going to be doing Chicago probably next” but also suggested that authorities would wait and not act immediately there. “We want to save these places,” Trump said. He singled out St. Louis and Baltimore, but didn’t say either place would be getting federal forces or the National Guard.

WE will see how effective this game becomes.

We Keep Trying

I read that the US has carried out a second attack on  some boat off Venezuela….a boat of ‘terrorists’…..

President Trump announced that the US military again targeted a boat he says was carrying drugs from Venezuela, killing three aboard the vessel.

  • “This morning, on my Orders, U.S. Military Forces conducted a SECOND Kinetic Strike against positively identified, extraordinarily violent drug trafficking cartels and narcoterrorists in the SOUTHCOM area of responsibility,” the president said in a Truth Social post.
  • “The Strike occurred while these confirmed narcoterrorists from Venezuela were in International Waters transporting illegal narcotics (A DEADLY WEAPON POISONING AMERICANS!) headed to the U.S.,” Trump wrote. “The Strike resulted in 3 male terrorists killed in action. No U.S. Forces were harmed in this Strike.”
  • The strike that Trump says was carried out Monday came two weeks after another military strike on what the Trump administration says was a drug-carrying speedboat from Venezuela that killed 11. The administration justified the earlier strike as a necessary escalation to stem the flow of drugs into the US. “These extremely violent drug trafficking cartels POSE A THREAT to U.S. National Security, Foreign Policy, and vital U.S. Interests,” Trump wrote Monday.

    But several senators, Democrats and some Republicans, have indicated dissatisfaction with the administration’s rationale and questioned the legality of the action, the AP reports. They view it as a potential overreach of executive authority in part by using the military for law enforcement purposes. “There is no evidence—none—that this strike was conducted in self-defense,” Sen. Jack Reed, the top Democrat on the Senate Armed Services Committee, said last week, per CNN. “That matters, because under both domestic and international law, the US military simply does not have the authority to use lethal force against a civilian vessel unless acting in self-defense.”

Although the president is posting edited videos of these strikes, information about the planning, execution, and legal justification for this campaign on alleged “narcoterrorists” is being kept secret from senior congressional staffers.

Last Tuesday, senior staff from House leadership and relevant committees were barred by the Office of the Secretary of War from attending a briefing on the first attack, according to three government sources who spoke on the condition of anonymity. The military cited “alternative compensatory control measures” — the term for enhanced security procedures designed to keep information under wraps — as the reason.

The War Department has attempted to conceal numerous details about the attack that killed 11 people in the Caribbean, including the fact that the vessel altered its course and appeared to have turned back toward shore prior to the strikes. Men on board were said to have survived an initial strike, The Intercept reported last week. They were then killed shortly after in a follow-up attack.

It seems that the US is determined to force Venezuela into committing some action that can be used to justify a direct attack on Venezuelan soil.

These slugs are trying so hard to force a new conflict that the defense contractors need to stay in the green.

I Am An ‘Otrovert’

I always considered myself an introvert…..why?

I like solitude, do not like crowds, always curious and a non-conformist all those I thought made me a closet introvert.

I am a ‘Otrovert’….

The word literally means “to turn the other way.” While introverts turn inward and extroverts turn outward, otroverts turn… elsewhere. They’re the people who seem to lack the emotional Bluetooth that connects everyone else to the collective frequency.

Recently my granddaughter told me that I was an ‘otrovert’….at first I thought it was an insult or that meant I was a grumpy old fart….but she turn me on to a new ‘label’……

Warning:  I wanted to move on from this saga but the media has made that impossible….this is my thoughts on this whole thing and I will probably go off into some rants that may offend some readers that have a dislike for harsh words….if the reader is one of those people than I suggest that they move on from this post and go to TikTok and watch some funny cat videos.

Donny and his silly ilk are painting Charlie in a light he does not deserve….especially by MAGA supporters….its is fucking bullshit.

But Kirk was no hero. The record is clear. If Kirk was a victim of a pernicious culture of violence in America, it must also be acknowledged that he was an author of that culture.

His primary accomplishment in life was to foment hatred and division across the United States. He blamed all of America’s ills on the left, and cheered violent attacks on Democrats. He fought against equal rights for many Americans; some of his last words were condemning women’s reproductive freedoms. He promoted America’s gun pathology (Ironic isn’t it), and asserted the death of innocents was an acceptable cost for that culture.

Charlie was not what I would call a compassionate person….he proved it every time he opened his mouth….

One of Charlie Kirk’s most controversial statements comes from a Turning Point USA Faith event Q&A (starting around the 1:13:00 mark) in April 2023 where he was fielding a question about gun rights:

“It’s worth it to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year, so that we can have the Second Amendment to protect our other God-given rights… That is a prudent deal. It is rational.”

On the October 12, 2022, episode of his podcast (around 36:40), Charlie Kirk stated:

“I can’t stand the word empathy, actually. I think empathy is a made-up, new age term that does a lot of damage.”

During a TPUSA Faith event on March 21, 2025, Charlie Kirk criticized birth control (around 36:50), stating:

“…birth control really screws up female brains, by the way. Every single one of you needs to make sure that your loved ones are not on birth control. It increases depression, anxiety, and suicidal ideation. Birth control is the number one prescribed medication for young ladies under the age of 25. They will give young ladies birth control for pimples, for acne, to control their moods, and their period. It is awful, it’s terrible, and it creates very angry and bitter young ladies and young women.”

Just a few of Charlie’s words of wisdom (that is also sarcasm)….

Imagine that President Donald Trump actively wanted to encourage radical right-wing groups and “lone wolf” individuals to wage open violent warfare on anyone they deem a leftist anywhere in America. If Trump wanted to send that precise message, he could hardly do much better than the words he actually did deliver on Fox and Friends on Friday morning.

Look at what the president said just after the assassination of Kirk:

For years those on the radical left have compared wonderful Americans like Charlie to Nazis. This kind of rhetoric is directly responsible for the terrorism that we’re seeing in our country and must stop right now. My administration will find each and every one of those who contributed to this atrocity and to other political violence, including the organizations that fund it and support it, as well as those who go after our judges and law enforcement officials.

As Jonathan Chait notes, here Trump treats political violence as if it only exists on one side of the spectrum. I’d add something else: I’m unaware of any other recent president explicitly vowing to unleash the power of the American state on a vast, inchoate ideological group in quite this way.

Trump’s wording in this prewritten speech is deliberate: He says his administration will target everyone it can find who contributed to the assassination of Kirk. The clear message is that anyone who can be blamed for Kirk’s death even speciously and pretextually is now subject to retribution by the full force of the government and Trump’s security services. Note that this includes liberal-left “organizations” as well.

“The radicals on the left are the problem,” he continued, “and they’re vicious and they’re horrible and they’re politically savvy.”

It seems clear that Trump isn’t interested in turning down the temperature on political tensions in the United States, and he’s just given the go-ahead to right-wing radicals to take matters into their own hands.

Within hours of Kirk’s death and without knowing any information about the shooter, Trump blamed the “radical left” and their rhetoric for political violence by “demonizing those with whom you disagree day after day, year after year in the most hateful and despicable way possible.”

Radicals on the Left?  Yes they are some radicals but so far not one of them has taken up to assassination and besides has any of these dickless morons mentioned the the shooter was an independent that comes from a Republican family? (Of course for that would defeat Donny’s effort to turn this situation into the emergency he needs to go beyond)

Just for the MAGA supporters that think they are all that….Democrats are NOT radical Left.  Democrats are not socialists.  To believe otherwise makes them fucking mindless assholes.

Apparently none of the mindless herd does see any problem with the lameass rhetoric of their leaders just as they still defend those pricks on 06 January.

None of what they are saying or doing will solve the problem of these assholes and their guns.  And what kind of leaders shoots off a dumbass mouth in this way?

Yet Another ‘Shutdown’ Two-Step

It seems every year the country has to go through this government shutdown BS….usually it is the GOP that is threatening the shutdown without their favorite spending cuts….after decades of silliness the Dems have now decided that the threat is such a good idea….

Centrist Democrats fear their party could blunder into a government shutdown this month as Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer (N.Y.) and House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries (N.Y.) are taking a hard line on the government funding package that needs to pass by Sept. 30.

Democrats broadly agree the looming expiration of enhanced health insurance subsidies under the Affordable Care Act — combined with deep cuts to Medicaid that Republicans enacted through the One Big Beautiful Bill Act — will hit millions of Americans with higher health care costs.

The senator said it’s “not clear” how voting against a short-term clean funding measure and forcing a government shutdown would give Democrats more leverage over Republicans on the looming expiration of the Affordable Care Act subsidies.

The senator argued the possibility that health care costs for millions of Americans could increase substantially in 2026 should be dealt with through the regular appropriations process, which would move forward if Democrats agree to short-term deal to fund the government through October or into November or December.

The president and Senate Majority Leader John Thune, R-S.D., came out with slightly different messages  Friday, but they both would lead to the same result — a government shutdown.

Trump is telling Republicans they don’t need to work with Democrats to reach an agreement.

“Don’t even bother dealing with them. We will get it through, because the Republicans are sticking together for the first time in a long time,” the president said on Fox and Friends.

Republicans need at least seven Democrats in the Senate to get over the 60-vote threshold. Despite that, Trump wants Republicans to do it alone.

“If you gave them every dream, right now. Every dream that they want to give away money to this and that and then destroy the country; if you gave them every dream, they would not vote for it,” Trump added.

Yet another week passes and the silliness continues….there have been some major things that has been widely reported but that is not where this post goes…..I try to bring attention to some of the lesser reported antics from Donny and the Boyz.

He had been registered as a nonpartisan voter in Utah, per the Wall Street Journal. However, he does not appear to have voted in the 2024 election. His parents are registered Republicans.

First there is all that ‘gold’ that Donny is placing around the White House and it may not ‘glitter’ after all…

Donald Trump‘s Oval Office redecoration has revealed the president’s tacky side, but despite him claiming the White House is now drowning in “24 karats,” some believe all that gold is a knockoff, RadarOnline.com can reveal.

Previously, a White House spokesperson claimed the gold, “of the highest quality,” was all paid for by Trump personally.

The new Oval Office has been put on display numerous times, as viewers have been able to spot the centerpiece wall coverings and fireplace fittings covered in gold… at least that is what Trump and his loyal team have been boasting about for months.

However, the trimmings, which have been marketed as “polyurethane appliqué & onlay moulding,” are sold at Home Depot and retail for just under $60. One of the giant hardware store’s founders, Bernie Marcus, was one of Trump’s biggest donors before dying in 2024.

Social media users were quick to call out Trump, as one raged: “Petty is the idiot who adorned the Oval Office in gold, spray-painted, plastic Home Depot castings.”

Another added: “The only thing tackier than this is the stupid gold leaf overlay shit that they found at Home Depot and stuck on the walls of the Oval Office.”

Donny signs a memo…..

President Donald Trump signed a memorandum on Tuesday pressuring pharmaceutical companies to abide by transparency laws in their advertising, particularly on social media. The administration will follow up by sending 100 cease and desist enforcement letters and thousands of warning letters to the companies, administration officials said.

The goal, administration officials said on a call with reporters Tuesday morning, is to use laws that are already on the books to ensure people receive transparent, accurate information about drugs, especially potential risk factors.

Administration officials pointed to medications or products that are promoted on social media sites like Instagram or TikTok with influencers who do not clearly identify as paid spokespeople.

Trump’s Rose Garden renovation may be his worst yet — he paved over the lawn that has been in place since President John F. Kennedy’s time. It seemed to be an effort to make it look more like a patio at his Mar-a-Lago club, complete with yellow and white striped umbrellas over the tables. To solidify this accomplishment, Trump has held the first ever event of what The White House account on X, formerly Twitter, referred to as the “Rose Garden Club.”

The dinner included Trump giving a speech where he defined the club, saying it was “for senators, for congresspeople and for people in Washington, and frankly, people that can bring peace and success to our country,” via Newsweek. Some Trump supporters and Republicans raved about the event; however, plenty of others had scathing reviews, including for the menu, which was decidedly mid.

President Donald Trump is facing further accusations of being “senile” after a comment he made today.

Trump’s speech went slightly off topic, as he claimed “Leaders from all over the world they talk to me, they say, ‘your country’s in trouble.’ And I just left the Middle East… and I was with the heads of NATO… the NATO nations… all of them, everyone said essentially the same thing. A year ago, your country was dead, and now you have the hottest country anywhere in the world. It’s true.” It comes as Trump is facing an ‘onslaught of dementia’ as psychologists warn he’s ‘deteriorating’.

Trump’s Middle East comments immediately sparked concern, as people pointed out that the president’s last visit to the Middle East was four months ago. IST Saturday News Dump–13Sep25

I was beat up last week with chemo so this Saturday may not be up to my usual standards….sorry about that.

Local–a local cardiologists has been arrested for his dealings with juveniles and sexual exploitation.

No rain so far in September our averaged is usually 2.2 inches so it is very dry right now…..but we are having a cooler month than normal.

Personal–I am closing in on Sue’s birthday which will probably not be a good day.

Started back with the cancer stuff yesterday….got juiced with chemo and more poking and prodding is due next week….I am so looking forward to that.

Enough about my woes….Shall we get started?

The best news story in my mind for last week was the word…’enshittifacation’.

This term has been making its rounds on social media and if persists it will become an officially recognized word.

“Enshittifaction” means….a noun meaning when a digital platform is made worse for users to increase profits.

Any ideas on this term?

There is some good news for stroke victims….

Researchers are working on a pill that could allow patients’ brains to recover from a traumatic injury or stroke, defying conventional thinking that the brain cannot regenerate following such a traumatic event.

As the New York Times reports, researchers previously discovered a gene that codes for a receptor called CCR5, which has been found in experiments to suppress lab mice’s ability to learn and remember.

University of California head of neurology Thomas Carmichael and his colleagues found that the receptor flooded the human brain following a stroke or other brain injury, and started to wonder whether it was hindering performance beyond the acute physical damage from a stroke or injury.

The ‘Kissing Bug’ makes an entrance….

Chagas’ disease, commonly referred to as “kissing bug” disease, is now officially recognized as endemic in the United States, according to the CDC. This means the disease, long associated with Latin America, is now consistently present in parts of the US, especially the South, per the Washington Post. The illness is spread by the triatomine insect, nicknamed the “kissing bug” because it often bites faces. Humans and animals can contract the disease when the bug’s contaminated feces gets into open wounds, eyes, or mouths.

Less commonly, the sickness can spread from mother to child or through blood transfusions. Dogs and other animals can act as hosts, and there are reports of canine infections in states like Texas and California. Chagas’ disease has two phases. The acute phase, occurring soon after infection, is often symptom-free or showing just mild symptoms like fever, fatigue, or eyelid swelling. If untreated, the disease can progress to a chronic phase, sometimes leading to serious heart or digestive issues years later.

According to experts, the disease is frequently fatal by the time symptoms become severe. Cases not linked to travel have now been identified in at least eight states, including California, Arizona, Texas, Louisiana, Tennessee, Missouri, Mississippi, and Arkansas. Per the Los Angeles Times, California alone has between 70,000 to 100,000 people infected with the disease. The CDC notes these bugs are found in 32 states overall, primarily in the southern half of the country, but there’s limited active monitoring for the illness. Flesh eaters, brain eaters and now kissing….

Remember the days when many people were walking around with masks on hoping to stave off any Covid symptoms?  And now we are mask free and those have been taken to landfills.

Millions of discarded face masks from the COVID-19 pandemic are now breaking down, creating an environmental hazard that could linger for generations, a study warns. Researchers from Coventry University found that the billions of plastic-based masks used globally, which were meant to protect people from the virus, are now releasing microplastics and chemicals into the environment, per the Guardian. Most of these masks, made from polypropylene and similar plastics, were not recycled. Instead, they ended up in landfills or as litter in urban and natural settings and began to degrade.

Anna Bogush and her colleague Ivan Kourtchev, authors of the study published in Environmental Pollution, tested various mask types by soaking them in purified water for a day. All masks released microplastics, but the highest quantities came from FFP2 and FFP3 masks, considered top-tier for virus protection. The majority of these particles were under 100 micrometers in size, or the width of a human hair, making them easily transportable in the environment, per a release. The masks also released bisphenol B, a chemical known to disrupt hormones in humans and animals. By examining the total production of single-use masks during the pandemic, the researchers estimate that hundreds of pounds of bisphenol B were released each day into the environment.

Great!  Another source of pollution.

Does spicy food help one lose weight?

If you’ve ever seen an episode of Hot Ones, the YouTube series in which guests have to consume increasingly nuclear hot sauces over the course of the interview, you know the drill. As the spice levels rise, sweat starts to bead, faces flush, and answers descend into incoherent yelps.

Capsaicin, a chemical concentrated in the seeds and ribs of chiles, is powerful stuff. While chiles can’t kill you, they can send you to the emergency room, particularly if you’re not accustomed to high levels of heat. Last year, three varieties of instant ramen by South Korean company Samyang were so spicy that Denmark’s national food agency deemed them a public health hazard.

Yet the very substance that reduces some diners to tears also offers some surprising benefits. For one, there’s strong evidence to suggest that consuming spicy food can help you maintain a healthy weight. But eating more chiles isn’t, in isolation, enough to stay out of the doctor’s office.

Ever wonder why some people are more attractive to mosquitoes than others?  There may be an answer….

Roughly 500 music fans volunteered to not only answer the survey, but stick their arms into a custom-designed cage buzzing with hungry mosquitos. Importantly, none of the participants were in any danger of covering their arms in itchy welts. Researchers built the apparatus to feature holes that were tiny enough for the insects to smell a person, but not pierce their skin using their needle-sharp proboscis. The team then recorded videos of the mosquito responses compared to responses to a sugar feeder placed on the other side of the cage. After analyzing the accumulated data, the study’s authors noted that their insects often displayed a “clear preference.”

To put it politely: they enjoyed people who enjoyed themselves. Those who drank beer and had sex the night before the experiment were around 1.35 times more attractive to mosquitos than the more sober, abstinent volunteers. Conversely, the pests were less likely to try snacking on an arm if it had been recently washed and/or had sunscreen applied to it.

The researchers’ self-titled “Mosquito Magnet Trial” is the largest study of its kind to date to their knowledge. At the same time, they conceded their experiment took place in a “loosely controlled setting,” with a selection bias towards “science-loving festivalgoers,” and that more investigation is needed before drawing any concrete conclusions. Regardless, they felt confident in asserting that mosquitos “are drawn to those who avoid sunscreen, drink beer, and share their bed.”

The procedure is quick, and works fast, but mostly, it’s done to help with pains or the way the scrotum looks.

Mike Tee, a senior doctor at the Harley Street Skin Clinic, previously shared that ’80 percent’ of patients are getting it done to either reduce wrinkles, treat hyperhidrosis (sweating of the skin), or temporarily increase scrotal size or sag.

But the dangers may not be worth it.

Scrolling through your phone during bathroom breaks may be a more significant health risk than you realize, according to a new study. Researchers from Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center found that people who brought their smartphones to the toilet spent noticeably longer time there—often over five minutes—compared to non-users. That extra time was linked to a 46% higher risk of developing hemorrhoids. Traditionally, straining has been blamed for hemorrhoids. However, the study published Wednesday in PLOS One, which analyzed 125 patients undergoing colonoscopies, suggests that lingering on the toilet with phone in hand might be a more pressing concern, per the Washington Post.

The logic: sitting for prolonged periods on a standard toilet increases pressure on the rectal veins, which over time can lead to hemorrhoids—swollen veins that can cause pain, discomfort, and occasionally bleeding. The majority of participants weren’t aware their phones were making bathroom visits longer. Given that a 2022 survey found nearly two-thirds of Americans use their phones while on the toilet, the risk could be widespread. Hemorrhoids are common, especially in those over 50, and can be costly to treat; in 2014, 1.4 million US employer-insured patients sought hemorrhoid care costing $770 million.

Experts recommend keeping toilet time under 10 minutes and resisting the urge to bring your phone along. It can be harmful to your health in other ways, too, an expert tells NBC News, noting urine and feces particles are thrown into the air when a toilet is flushed. Other ways to prevent hemorrhoids include staying hydrated, regular physical activity, and eating a fiber-rich diet—something only 5% of Americans manage. Fiber can be found in foods like beans, grains, and leafy greens, which help keep bowel movements regular and reduce pressure on rectal veins.

I read this post in Moderate Voice and wanted to share it with the IST readers….

I don’t wish death on anyone. I’ve scolded more than one friend for posting in my comments on Facebook death wishes for Donald Trump. I don’t do that, and I don’t think liberals or Democrats should do it either. Let the other side be vile. Half of the reason I don’t want political opponents dead is that I don’t wish bad things to anyone. ANYONE. The other reason is that MAGAts would martyr the hell out of it if something happened.

When someone, a Republican, shot at Trump at one of his hate rallies, it pissed me off. When a man with a gun was found waiting to shoot Trump at one of his shitty golf resorts, it pissed me off again. I was shouting at my TV, “You’re hurting us more than helping, f—ers!” Violence leads to more violence. This was followed by the murder of Democratic state legislators in Minnesota.

I don’t wish bad crap to happen to bad people, but when it does, I don’t go all thoughts-and-prayers about it. Even if I did care about those people, I know that thoughts and prayers don’t work. Even when their own are murdered by guns, the thoughts-and-prayers crowd never tries to find solutions other than suggesting stupid ideas like giving teachers guns.

Then to give another side to this story….

There are so many words and cliches condemning the killing of Charles James Kirk, and none of the refrains are unique. “We need to dial back our discourse”, “we need to be tolerant of different opinions,” and “there is no room in American politics for political violence.” Are people blind to the realities that have been swirling all around us? The language has been violent. The discord has been great. There has been a consistent invitation to dine at the table of heated racist discussion posing as legitimate political speech.

The killing of Charlie Kirk fits within this arena of speech that is racist and hate-filled, but is designed to pose as rational and logical political speech. In his rhetoric and so-called debate style this 31-year-old evangelical firebrand of the right has stated that Black pilots were incompetent, Gays should be stoned, ironically he was opposed to gun control, abortion, LGBTQ rights, criticized the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and Martin Luther King Jr., promoted Christian nationalism, advanced COVID-19 misinformation, made false claims of electoral fraud in 2020, and is a proponent of the Great Replacement conspiracy theory.

Words have consequences….while I do not condone this type of political expression I do see how we got to this spot in our history.

There is only so much hate that can be passed around before someone takes some sort of misguided action.

I will mourn but not for this guy…..I mourn for what has become of my country that use to be called ‘the beacon of freedom’.

Should We or Not?

We all know that the US sank a boat with 11 people on it and there has been a debate ever since on why this action was taken.

Now word has come out that Donny and his gang of idiots are considering a direct assault on Venezuelan soil.

US President Donald Trump’s administration is considering launching military strikes on Venezuela, according to new reporting from independent journalist Ken Klippenstein.

Military sources on Tuesday told Klippenstein that the Trump administration is mulling an attack against Venezuela unless it cracks down on drug cartels that it claims are shipping fentanyl into the United States.

Contrary to the administration’s claims, according to the US Drug Enforcement Administration and other agencies, Venezuela plays virtually no role in fentanyl manufacturing and trafficking.

Klippenstein’s sources said the attack was likely to involve “shooting down Venezuelan military aircraft or by bombing Venezuelan military airfield,” and that the US Air Force has been rehearsing for such a mission in recent weeks.

A leaked Department of Homeland Security memo obtained by Klippenstein gives clues as to why the administration is taking an aggressive military posture toward Venezuela.

Specifically, writes Klippenstein, the memo gives insight into the administration’s view that Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro is actually in charge of the Tren de Aragua cartel and is giving it orders to poison American citizens by getting them addicted to drugs.

However, Klippenstein cautions that this view of Maduro as the commander of an international drug cartel is not backed up by US intelligence agencies.

“A declassified assessment prepared by the National Intelligence Council concluded in April that the Maduro regime ‘probably does not have a policy of cooperating with TdA and is not directing TdA operations in the United States,'” he noted.

Klippenstein closed his report by likening the situation to the buildup to the 2003 Iraq War, but with fentanyl taking the place of “weapons of mass destruction” as the purported casus belli.
