Last Week At The Sh*t Show–13Apr25

This past week has given the country a wealth of BS to consider…..like Donny’s second attempt to have a parade in his honor….

Donald Trump may finally get his long-desired military parade through the streets of Washington.

The Washington City Paper, citing an unnamed D.C. source, reports that the president has chosen June 14, 2025—the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army,  Flag Day, and coincidentally also his own 79th birthday—as the big day. If it goes ahead, the four-mile procession would go from the Pentagon in Arlington to the White House.

Seven years ago, Trump made his desire for a grand military parade well known after he saw a French parade in 2017, telling people at the time, “We’re going to have to try and top it.” But the idea got a lot of pushback from military leaders as well the D.C. government, who estimated that it would cost the military $92 million and the district over $21 million in public safety costs.

Trump angrily abandoned the idea, accusing D.C. politicians of wanting “a number so ridiculously high that I canceled it. Never let someone hold you up!” At the time, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser shot down the idea on Twitter, saying she “finally got thru to the reality star in the White House with the realities ($21.6M) of parades/events/demonstrations in Trump America (sad).”

This time, though, Trump has overhauled military leadership, firing four-star Gen. Charles Q. Brown Jr. as chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, as well as leaders in the Navy and Air Force,  including the top lawyers of those two branches and the Army. The legal firings presumably give Trump loyalists who would defend his parade if it is challenged in the courts.

I am so glad the all the cash the idiots at DOGE are saving this country are going for good….like golf outings and dictator-like parade.

$92 million…think about that.

There is always something to write about…..last week Donny’s massive tariffs went into effect….so Americans should start feeling the pinch soon….these tariffs tanked the markets and things like food, autos and electronics will be mush more expensive…..and speaking of electronics how about the iPhone?

There are people that will stand in long lines to fork over $1000+ for every new version of the iPhone as it comes out…..well good people be prepared for the next one….

The price of an iPhone is set to skyrocket under President Donald Trump‘s ‘Liberation Day’ tariffs crackdown, experts have warned.

The cost of producing the latest model of its popular smartphone is set to surge from $580 to $850, TechInsights analyst Wayne Lam told The Wall Street Journal.

This is because Apple manufacturers its iPhone in China, which has been hit with a staggering 54 percent tax on its imported goods.

The tech giant would likely pass these inflated costs onto the consumer, taking the price of a 256GB iPhone 16 Pro from $1,100 to an eye-watering $3,500, according to Wedbush Securities analyst Dan Ives.

The president claims his tariffs will encourage domestic manufacturing by increasing the price of foreign products.

How ya like dem apples?  (sorry just could not resist).

The War Department has ordered the Army to suspend some mandatory training classes….

Among then are these….

The new regulations leave it to commanders to determine whether their soldiers need to complete training in six categories:
• Chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear, or CBRN, training at the individual or unit level.
• Combat Lifesaver Training, which provides nonmedical troops basic level training to assist casualties until medics or other medical professionals arrive.

• Safety and occupational health courses, including basic risk management training and traffic safety courses for soldiers younger than 26 years old.

Law of War training, which provides soldiers basic ethics on the battlefield.
• Code of Conduct training, which trains troops on the ethics that they are expected to uphold in uniform.

• Online personnel recovery and survival, evasion, resistance and escape, or SERE, courses, which train troops to avoid capture by the enemy and how to survive if they are taken by hostile forces.

Can you really teach escape and evasion on-line?
ooks like another natural icon from the past is to be destroyed by Trump the dolt.
The view of the White House is going to look a bit different in the near future: a giant southern magnolia linked to Andrew Jackson is coming down, reports the Hill. President Trump announced on Truth Social Sunday that the tree will be taken down next week because it’s in “terrible condition” and presents a safety hazard. A new tree will be planted in its place, and the “Historic wood from the tree will be preserved by the White House Staff, and may be used for other high and noble purposes!!!” Trump wrote.
A post on the National Park Service website explains that “folklore tells us” Jackson himself planted the tree, having brought the seeds from his native Tennessee. He reportedly did so to honor his late wife, Rachel, who died just before he took office in 1829. The NPS adds a dose of skepticism to the tale, however, noting that photographs don’t show the tree turning up until the 1860s. The tree memorably sustained damage in 1994 when a small Cessna aircraft crashed onto the South Lawn, per the AP
Then there are all those MAGA friendly products that the prez profits from the sell….

Donald Trump has long entangled politics and business. Now, senior Trump administration officials are using their perches in government to reward companies that have embraced the MAGA movement.

Elon Musk’s account on X — the social media site he owns — oscillates from promoting his brands like SpaceX and Tesla to making pronouncements that could reshape government. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick explicitly told Americans to buy shares in Musk’s Tesla. And Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. participated in a conversation-turned-advertisement for a fast food chain that he says is committed to his “Make America Healthy Again” movement.

And then there is the president himself. Trump has meshed the White House with his own personal brand since his first term — and regularly highlights Trump-branded products like crypto ventures or Bibles that he financially benefits from. But he’s also rewarded companies of his allies with promotion, from posing with his preferred brand of beans at the Resolute Desk during his first term to his recent Tesla auto show on the White House lawn.

Little Donny and his magic Sharpie were at it again…..this time about coal…..

President Trump signed a series of executive orders Tuesday aimed at boosting the struggling coal industry, a reliable but polluting energy source that’s long been in decline. Under the four orders, Trump uses his emergency authority to allow some older coal-fired power plants set for retirement to keep producing electricity to meet rising US power demand amid growth in data centers, artificial intelligence, and electric cars, the AP reports. Trump also directed federal agencies to identify coal resources on federal lands, lift barriers to coal mining, and prioritize coal leasing on US lands.

  • In a related action, Trump also signed a proclamation offering coal-fired power plants a two-year exemption from federal requirements to reduce emissions of toxic chemicals such as mercury, arsenic, and benzene.
  • Trump has long promised to boost what he calls “beautiful” coal to fire power plants and for other uses, but the industry has been in decline for decades. “I call it beautiful, clean coal. I told my people, never use the word coal unless you put beautiful, clean before it,” Trump said at a White House signing ceremony where he was flanked by coal miners in hard hats..
  • Trump’s administration has targeted regulations under the Biden administration that could hasten closures of heavily polluting coal power plants and the mines that supply them. Coal once provided more than half of US electricity production, but its share dropped to about 16% in 2023, down from about 45% as recently as 2010. Natural gas provides about 43% of US electricity, with the remainder from nuclear energy and renewables like wind, solar, and hydropower. Experts say any bump for coal under Trump is likely to be temporary because natural gas is cheaper.
  • Industry groups praised Trump’s focus on coal. “Despite countless warnings from the nation’s grid operators and energy regulators that we are facing an electricity supply crisis, the last administration’s energy policies were built on hostility to fossil fuels, directly targeting coal,” said Rich Nolan, president and CEO of the National Mining Association.
  • Environmental groups said Trump’s actions were more of the same tactics he tried during his first term in an unsuccessful bid to revive coal. “What’s next, a mandate that Americans must commute by horse and buggy?” asked Kit Kennedy, managing director for power at the Natural Resources Defense Council. “Coal plants are old and dirty, uncompetitive and unreliable,” Kennedy said, accusing Trump and his administration of remaining “stuck in the past, trying to make utility customers pay more for yesterday’s energy.”

There is NO such thing as “Clean Coal”.  Period!

That does it for this report….things just keep getting crazier and crazier….that damn magic Sharpie has got to be getting tired.

Enjoy your Sunday ans as always….Be well and Be Safe….

  1. An official Trump portrait (Of considerable size) will be mandatory for all: Schools, school rooms, colleges, government buildings national and local, churches, business places… every organization that receives government money for anything will be required to prominently display the portrait in as many publicly accessible places and spaces as possible and refusal to display said portrait will result in egregious consequences….like a fine of $5,000 and/or 10 years in prison. At the parade he wants, the viewing stand will be mandated to display a giant jumbo-tron image of the president ….and a bill will soon be introduced into the legislature to add his image somewhere onto the American flag and on at least one coin of the realm and one paper money bill. — The book, “Art of The Deal” will be mandatory reading and study for all students of any and all kinds of schools, colleges, universities, etc. These are my ideas of things that I think might come. I am looking to see the first big building with a giant mural painted on it representing the presidente.

    1. EGADS!! The emotional needs of this man are mind-boggling! And without end! No doubt at this death (or perhaps even sooner!) a day will be designated as “Trump’s Birthday.” **GAG**
