Today it is about some idiot tethered to a balloon at 25,000m feet….

Ah, to float away. David Blaine realized that dream Wednesday by rigging up to balloons and floating nearly 25,000 feet over Arizona—until he cut the cord, USA Today reports. The 47-year-old magician drifted for nearly an hour in a livestreamed broadcast called “Ascension,” which began with him learning how to skydive, fly balloons, and handle cooler temperatures. “This is the most that I have ever prepared for any performance to date,” he said in a video shared on Instagram. But even that didn’t spare his nerves before takeoff: “This is where it gets real,” he said, calling himself “the worst person with directions.” He soon had hundreds of thousands of viewers watching him float over the city of Page in his helium-balloon rig.

The complex contraption had to receive FAA approval and included a couple dozen weather balloons, including one made of fiberglass. Blaine talked to his 9-year-old daughter Dessa during the flight, saying, “Wow, it’s so beautiful. It feels like I’m floating.” Blaine was too far off-course to reach his preordained landing zone, but he detached himself anyway and landed safely with the help of a parachute he’d put on during the flight. “Wow!” he exclaimed, “that was awesome!” and told Dessa, “I love you. This is all for you!” It was Blaine’s first big live stunt since “Electrified: One Million Volts Always On” in 2012. He has also buried himself in a water tank for seven days, fasted for 44 days in a box, and stood on a 100-foot pillar for 35 hours, per the Arizona Republic.

Not much from this washed up magician until now….maybe he can con the world into caring about the things he does….

Personally, I do not appreciate stunts…..maybe he would be better off flipping burgers…..for I think his magic days are waning.

Not Since World War Two

2020 election is around the corner and there are things one should consider before they cast their vote (ever how many times they are told to)……economics should be one of those deciding issues.

The markets are hitting all time highs and yet the deficit just keeps growing….and GDP is not all that good either….now I am waiting for one of those “expert” economists to explain this….probably in graphs that NO ONE understands…..

The federal budget deficit is projected to hit a record $3.3 trillion as huge government expenditures to fight the coronavirus and prop up the economy have added more than $2 trillion to the federal ledger, the Congressional Budget Office said Wednesday. The spike in the deficit means that federal debt will exceed annual gross domestic product next year, a milestone that would put the US in the company of countries like Greece whose accumulated debt exceeds the size of their economies, the AP reports. The $3.3 trillion figure is more than double the levels experienced after the market meltdown and Great Recession of 2008-09. Government spending, fueled by four coronavirus response measures, would register at $6.6 trillion, $2 trillion-plus more than 2019.

The shutdown of the economy in the spring led lawmakers and President Trump to pump money into stimulus steps that have helped the economy in the short term. Most economists are untroubled by such huge borrowing when the economy is in such peril, and the debt was barely a concern when a cornerstone $2 trillion coronavirus relief bill passed almost unanimously in March. But now that lawmakers and the White House are quarreling over the size and scope of a fifth virus relief bill, Republicans are growing skittish at the enormous costs of battling the pandemic. The Democratic-controlled House passed a $3.5 trillion measure in May. Sentiment among top leaders in the GOP-held Senate has been for a bill in the $1 trillion range, with recent party efforts focused on a measure that’s even smaller.

This will take the Congress to screw someone to try and stem this tide…..and that usually means the poor and working people of this country.

Just Do It Twice!

So advises the president.

As usual the president wants his supporters to commit a crime…..seriously……he wants them to commit voter fraud….A CRIME!

When asked by North Carolina news station WECT whether he was confident in the state’s absentee voting system, President Trump on Wednesday appeared to suggest that, in order to test said system, voters should attempt to vote twice and see how it goes. His answer:

  • “Well, they’ll go out and they’ll vote and they’re going to have to go and check their vote by going to the poll and voting that way because if it tabulates then they won’t be able to do that. So, let ’em send it in and let ’em go vote. And if their system’s as good as they say it is, then obviously they won’t be able to vote (at the poll). If it isn’t tabulated, they’ll be able to vote. So that’s the way it is, and that’s what they should do. I don’t like the idea of these unsolicited votes. I never did. It leads to a lot of problems. They’ve got 11 problems already on very small contests. I’m not happy about it. At the same time, we’re in court with a lot of it. We’re going to see if it can be stopped. But send in your ballots, send ’em in strong, whether it’s solicited or unsolicited. The absentees are fine, we have to work to get ’em, you know, it means something. And you send ’em in, but you go to vote. And if they haven’t counted it, you can vote. So, that’s the way I view it.”

CNN notes that in North Carolina, it’s a felony to intentionally vote twice in the same election, and the New York Times calls Trump’s suggestion “the kind of voter fraud he has railed against.” A state official says “we’d strongly advise against” anyone who has already cast an absentee ballot going to the polls to vote again. He also explained that voters can check their absentee ballot’s status in three different ways. Trump made a similar suggestion to Nevada residents last month, amid a longstanding campaign against widespread mail-in voting, which he claims will lead to election fraud. Per NBC News, a Trump campaign spokesperson says Trump is not encouraging that voters vote illegally a second time: “President Trump encourages supporters to vote absentee-by-mail early, and then show up in person at the polls or the local registrar to verify that their vote has already been counted. It’s amazing that the media can go from insisting that voter fraud doesn’t exist to screaming about it when President Trump points out the giant holes in the Democrats’ voting schemes.”

Plus if they do commit a crime for this president he can then point to voter fraud that he has been preaching in the past.

This just proves that the man in the White House has NO IDEA the rules and laws of the country he rules over…..to suggest that Americans break the law to prove his point is just silly.

Mr. Trump I have the results of your IQ test….You failed miserably!

Truth And Equality

This country was founded on the two principles of truth and equality…..the base was the Declaration of Independence when it stated “We hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal……”

A little known Sociologists Harriet Martineau made an excellent observation…..

The US was established on the principle of equal rights

Women were second class citizens

                                                ↓

The Declarations of Independence bears no relation to half the human race

Then there are the slaves….they were not equal as well…..

About here there should be those that will say that when the DoI was signed it was a different time and should not be compared to today.

Yet truth is now, and has always been, an elusive commodity to corral. Indeed, the search for truth requires a firm commitment and tireless effort simply to catch a meager, fleeting glimpse, a glimpse that often blurs maddeningly under more rigorous inquiry. Nevertheless, with effort, the glimpses can pile-up like nuggets of gold, blessing the mind with sudden visions of clarity. Unfortunately, today in the United States the search for truth has been stifled exponentially by means of the abrupt insertion of vast fraudulent claims, launched like malicious missiles into the American narrative, all capable of momentarily bewildering even the clearest of minds.

Truth is the foundational element for mental, intellectual, and spiritual well-being. Unfortunately, truth is under assault as never before, but fortunately there is a remedy. The cure for lies is – and has always been – the truth, and those gallant people willing to stand-up and embrace it. Even Goebbels understood its overwhelming influence when he admitted, “The truth is the mortal enemy of the lie,” thus, as Orwell explained: “In a time of deceit telling the truth is a revolutionary act.”

We Americans overwhelmingly believe that the US was founded on ‘freedom and equality’…..

An overwhelming majority of American voters believe that the United States was founded on the ideals expressed in the Declaration of Independence, even if the country has at times failed to live up to those ideals, according to a new Just the News Daily Poll with Scott Rasmussen.

Seventy-nine percent of the respondents believe that the statement that the U.S. was “founded on the ideals of freedom and equality, though we have never fully lived up to those ideals” is more accurate than the belief that those founding ideals were a “lie.” founding.

A great divide…but is that because Americans have learned about the nation’s birth or just constant conditioning?

Let’s look at the Constitution…..

The American Constitution gives, and it takes away: it radically slows down the process of lawmaking, and it places major obstacles in the way of interfering with liberty. “Congress shall make no law”—so says the First Amendment—respecting the establishment of religion or the free exercise thereof; nor may Congress interfere with the freedom of the press, speech, assembly, or petition. As the late Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia once reminded us, “‘No law’ means ‘no law’.”

Have you heard the argument that the document was written in a time when things were different and have since changed?

Then it that is the case then why is the 2nd sacrosanct?

It was written in a different time and should not be interpreted as ‘set in stone’…..you know like slavery, etc…..
