Democrats! Time To Move On!

I waited a couple of years to see or read where a Repub said this with all the silly antics of the GOP in Congress….and as usual my wait was in vain.

This whole Russia-gate thing has been raging for months….all the while Dems are trying to use it as some sort of message to the American voter…they are failing.

Let’s be honest…the average person cares little about this Russian thing.  I spend time at a local college and there is very little discussion there as well.  The only places that this has any footing is the MSM and some blogs….after that no one is talking or even caring.

Even national polls show that it is not that important to the population…..

…….the latest Harvard-Harris Poll survey, provided exclusively to The Hill, which paints a complicated picture of voters’ opinions about the numerous probes that have engulfed the White House.

Sixty-four percent of voters said the investigations into President Trump and Russia are hurting the country. Fifty-six percent of voters said it’s time for Congress and the media to move on to other issues, compared to 44 percent who said the focus should stay on Russia.

But other surveys have found strong support for the special counsel investigating the Russia probe. A Harvard-Harris survey released last month found 75 percent support for former FBI Director Robert Mueller’s investigation.

There is evidence in the Harvard-Harris survey that voters are taking the investigations seriously: Fifty-eight percent say they’re concerned by allegations of obstruction of justice against Trump, with the same number worried about possible dealings between Trump and the Russian government.

But far more — 73 percent — say they’re concerned that the Russia probes have caused Congress to lose focus on the issues important to them. That figure encompasses 81 percent of Republicans, 74 percent of independents and 68 percent of Democrats.

In short the public is growing ever weary of the political games and the lack of Congressional attention to the important things in the voters lives.

If the prez would stop using Twitter to try and bully any opposition then the MSM would have little to report and would move on.

I am not saying remove on from the investigations just keep any news close to the vest until there is something big to report.

As long as the fixation is on this Russian thing then important issue go under-reported or not at all.

We have a health care bill that is a piece of crap, we have a budget debate coming, etc.

And for God sake move on from the last election!  Clinton lost…Trump won.  Trying to find someone to blame is doing no good…it definitely is not a unifying topic for the Party.

Dems need to find a message that will resonate with voters and stop chasing every Tweet that comes off Trump’s thumbs…..or 2018 will be NO different than any of the last couple of elections.

  1. Reblogged this on John Liming.Blog and commented:
Having just heard that The Supreme Court of The United States has upheld President Trump’s travel ban on people coming into The U.S. from a select number of countries known for being suspected as terrorist hotbeds, I now encounter this really important and totally accurate assessment on the site of “In Saner Thought” and because I believe this post is so honest, fair, balanced, accurate and important, I am reblogging it because I think it needs to be read as far and widely as possible:

      1. Few ever listen and that is why we are where we are and that is why we shall always be wherever it is that we find ourselves.

  2. I really cannot believe how they are dragging this out. Why the surprise and indignation? They have all been at, at least since the time of Gorbachev. Perhaps they are just still annoyed that they lost? 🙂
Well, I ‘lost’ in our election too. Just man up, and get over it.
    Best wishes, Pete.

  3. Methinks you’re succumbing to the “Trump Normalcy”, my friend… the idea that this is the way it’s gonna be for the duration. In fact, that likely is very true. Honestly from my vantage point (which admittedly is very limited) I don’t see a lot of Trump election win “deniers” coming from anything liberal or near that… to the point that it’s anything even near a democratic majority. Logic dictates there are some out there for sure.. but certainly nothing worth mentioning… other than by Trumpsters who are acting like sore winners with their constant Obama/Clinton tirades that have nothing to do with Trump being a president. Trump is still in campaign mode.

Yes.. the MSM is constantly banging away, but remember, Trump is giving them lots to bang away about. How should they “ease up”? Are you suggesting the MSM should get more like that Fox Babies In The Morning garbage that reports nothing but what caters to and his supporters? This I will agree with… if the Dems want to grab the majority of seats in 2018 they should get on the ball and focus. if the Dems are looking to replace Trump in the next general they do very much need to get their political house in order.

Sorry… I can’t loose focus on the fact the the man himself is so totally ill-suited for the job from the get go. Hell, I’m all for Pence running the show. I am not waving some liberal flag by any means, nor a Republican flag. If there were a Get-Him-The-Hell-Outta-Here flag, I’d be waving that one. Of course, I should qualify, as with any dissent of Trump these days, for the benefit of any Secret Service guys reading this after it was flagged by their computer… I want him removed legally because of my dedication to the American flag and the Constitution.

But I am indeed curious, chuq… what IS important with the college crowd these days besides grades, drinking, and sex (I have to think that’s universal, and timeless, as I recall)? I mean… politically?

    1. Believe it or not…debt and jobs is far more important these days to most students. If Dems want to win then they need to focus on those issues and of course now health care. But instead they keep whining about the last election…they lost and they need to get over it. chuq

  4. I think we can move on to other issues facing. But we can not minimize the threat from Russia.

  5. Since the day after the election I’ve been saying that Democrats need to move on. Stop the rage, end the outrage, act as a reasonable, responsible opposition party Provide an alternative. Discuss policies. Act grown up and fight where it matters.

They don’t seem to be taking my advice.
